The service here is non existent. They have 0 bartenders . 0 servers. Then expect you to tip on a screen for absolutely nothing 2 people working the entire store. Woman got butthurt because I went behind the counter to get the bag that had been sitting there for 10 minutes. Go elsewhere the entire staff hides in the kitchen. Owners should be ashamed. 5 years ago this place was awesome now it s a dump the past 4+ times we ve came. We won t be back. & then to move the order area to the bar. We watched 10+ people come in confused. What a dumb move. 3 people ordered 1 minute apart from each other person #2 has to wait 25 minutes after 1/3. No good. Soggy food.

I dont know what happened to this place. My wife and I have been here a handful of times but this time it was TERRIBLE. My burger came out 5 minutes after my wifes food. Her bottom bun was soaked in grease. The burger itself was so salty it made her nauseous. The pickles were also just mush. No crunch. Burger joints are a dime a dozen, pick a different one.

We love twisted root and have been coming for years to all locations across DFW. This one is by far not up to the standards of the other locations. We love the outdoor patio and the food but it often takes 45+ minutes to receive our food. It seems like they need more staff. Hope it improves soon otherwise we ll just go across the sidewalk and get burgers at Del Toro.

I recently visited Twisted Root Burgers, and it was a letdown from start to finish. The burger I ordered was one of the worst I ve ever had excessively greasy, flavorless, and the meat tasted more like oil than beef. The bun was soaked in oil. The pickle fries, which I was looking forward to, were a major disappointment as well. They were soggy, under-seasoned, and had an off-putting taste. The cleanliness of the restaurant was also a serious issue. The tables were dirty, with crumbs and grease stains from previous customers, and the utensils looked like they hadn t been properly washed. It was hard to relax and enjoy my meal in such an unclean environment. To make matters worse, the beer they served was stale. It tasted flat and mixed with water, like it had been sitting around for far too long. Overall, this was one of the worst dining experiences I ve had in a long time. I won t be returning, and I d recommend others steer clear as well.

The associate who took our order was fabulous, however the other staff didnt focus on any customers. We had to clear and clean our own table so we could sit down. When we finished our meals, the only busser continued to walk by us, never looking in our direction. We were a table of 10, and we were disappointed in the customer service- zero. Food was good I love the atmosphere. The bar was kinda slow but not a big worry for me. I did realize that the restaurant has on tap from brewery next door which i thought was cool. The food was good I loved trying out their pickles from their four or five selections. They have different meats to try if beef is not what you are feeling that day. I thought it was also cool that they had a cola spout kinda old fashioned I think. You press your flavor and the syrup and carbonated soda comes out. I thought it was cool. Overall loved the place recomend to friends and family.

We drove by this cute restaurant and had to go back and check it out. Everything about it was 5 stars. The staff was customer focused and helpful. One made me the best Oreo milkshake. Slipping!!!! Twisted Root is known for its reputation of great tasting burgers! But today I beg to differ. Case in point! The Classic burger I had tasted like a frozen patty! No seasoning to taste. And I was definitely lower quality ground beef. If you ever tasted the cheap ground beef that has hard pieces of some sort of gristle or cartilage in nearly every bite! You know exactly what I m talking about! This is what my burger tasted like! Very disappointed! The fries they give us seem to be the bottom of the bag because it was lots of little burnt ones and small ones rather than actual cuts of potatoes. And the selection of barrels pickles tastes were off. It was something different about the tastes of the pickles were different. There did not reflect the flavor profile of what that stated they were named. This experience farther makes me not wanting to eat out at burger joints anymore! With prices increasing and quality decreasing I would be more happier making home made burgers known what kind of meat I m getting and the quality of it!

Got a Build your own Bison burger with Lettuce, tomatoes, sautéed mushrooms and Onions. Got raw onions but they fixed it after I went up to the counter. (no biggie) When our order was called one of the girls offered to help but she left the food after I took 3 trays to our table. (So why offer to help if I m going back for the rest.) 30 min wait was worth it because the burgers were delicious but the tea that ran out was 20min to brew and tasted like Soup and tea mixed together, That s really why I m giving it the rating what I ve given it. I ve been to Twisted Root in Athens and that one blows dust to this location. I feel because the bar is in the middle it s a really loud environment but overall was horrible, you just have to talk loud. Don t think I ll come back to this location because of service, tea and the overall loudness of it where they can t hear the orders. If you do come I recommend the bison

I guess you could say the fries were ok. The cook seemed to like them because he was eating them occasionally as he prepared mine and other peoples food. Aside from the fries, the rest was average. This is not the first time I have been to the Twisted Root in Mansfield. And I have gone to other Twisted Root locations before and they were consistently pretty good. I knew this one was pretty bad last time I went but my wife and I decided to give it another shot. I recommend you dont waste your time. The food is subpar and the service is almost non-existant. It seems like basically a bunch of high school kids trying to keep crap together. It was a Friday night and it was packed. When a table freed up, it would take the bus boy several minutes to get stuff figured out, so a lot of people sat at tables with other peoples trash while they waited for their food. Im not sure what he is doing when he disappears in back, probably washing dishes, but either its too much for one person or hes not working as hard as he should. I placed a big order, 71 dollars. Its a good thing they get tip at POS because there is no way I would tip again. We ordered burgers and the appetizer where it is all the fried items in one plate. I watched probably 5 or 6 people who ordered after me get served before me. I finally got tired of waiting and stood in front of the counter and the girl filling the orders noticed me and my order was given to me with only half of the food stuff. One of the burgers was cold by the time the order was picked up. They legit forgot about it or something. She didnt have everything ready yet she still called my name. We ordered before it got really really busy, so this was frustrating. We expected better service. Unless some major changes are made, I will not go back. Also, would it kill you guys to put in a hand sanitizer station? Having to walk outside and use the outdoor sink where only 1 of 3 soap dispensers has soap in it...come on, do better.

The reason I am giving this 4 stars & not 5 is that there were so many flies at our table inside the restaurant. I was so grossed out while eating & knew I would get sick. The very next day it did upset my stomach but I am hoping it wasnt from the food. Other than the flies, the food was delicious. We had the burger w fried onion strings, avacado & a chicken sandwhich. I have never had to leave a 0 dollar tip in my life until tonight. We always tip highly especially when we know they are struggling but this was not the case tonight. The cashier (wearing sunglasses at night lol) and bartender were extremely absent and lazy. As the hour went by i realized the couple next to us felt the same about their 2 dollar tip still left on the counter and their barspace still uncleaned. Written on their bill. $2 LOL. Food excellent.!!! Staff aweful. My husband and I were stuck here for over 2 and a half hours tonight as we refused to leave our bill unpaid. We had to get the attention of the staff to have our bill paid as the main cashier and bartender walked out many times and were on their phone ignoring customers. What a shame. I feel for the kitchen staff. They are excellent cooks. I seen an amazing freah salad and burgers come out tonight but we did not get a chance to order anything other than an appetizer. We thought the whole staff had quit until the kitchen staff came out to ring in new customers. What a shame. Applause to the kitchen for stepping up. If there were an atm we would have tipped the kitchen very highly as we used to work in the kitchen ourselves. We seen three grest cooks .I easily would have tipped $100 EACH. If any cook from this kitchen reads this, you were the bomb and I hope I see you again in a well deserved environment. Every burger and every dish looked excellent. Owner needs to let go of those two. I was wondering why it was so dead until an hour and a half went by and very much hungry and ready to order to get home. The bartender didnt even apologize. This alone is what made me give a zero dollar tip. My husband and I are very sad for the back of house. They are what kept it running tonight. Wish I would have had a chance to order but the front of the house failed badly. The back of the house kept the place running. Thay were already doing jobs that were not their responsibility so we chose to eat at home instead of burdening the back of house even further. We will not be back.

Food was missing gluten free bread valued at $2, which meant no bread provided at all and no notice of missing bread, surprise ! We had bacon on 2 orders valued at $1.50 per order. Always enjoy a good Twisted Root Burger! Service was a little slow, but we weren t in a hurry. Looked like we got the bottom of the fry bag (small, burnt ends) which was a little disappointing, but overall we enjoyed it. Noticed they ditched the fun name cards. Not a big deal, but it was a fun part of the atmosphere. Parking: Area is pretty popular, so parking can be an issue. I like the back in parking on the street, but there are usually full. Back lot isn t completely paved, so beware after a big rain.

I do not recommend this restaurant for anyone. The service was horrible and the food was subpar. The location is great and the restaurant has a nice vibe, but the management of this location is poor. Place was absolutely filthy. We were there for an hour. Watched about 5 staff members sit at a table and just be on there phones and talk the entire time. Meanwhile there was 3 or 4 tables that needed to be cleaned. The tables that didnt have trays and food on them still werent really clean. Nice little spot in Mansfield. Enjoyed the meal and time with my husband. However, it was freezing inside. Id take a jacket. Atmosphere was relaxed while we enjoyed our food. Arrived at Twisted Root Burger Co. Around 9pm. It was pretty active there, people eating, orders being called out for customers to come and get. We sat down and grabbed a menu, a young lady walked up she greeted us, all the worker seemed to be in the back kitchen area and then the young lady comes back and tells us the kitchen is closed and closed at 9 on Thursdays and that on Fridays they are open until 10... Not sure what happened to the Mansfield location, but we wont be back. It took 45 minutes to get our food and the burgers were way overcooked. They say medium well, but they were super well done. Onion rings were not fried long enough and were soggy. The restaurant was really dirty. We had a hard time finding a table that didnt have grime all over it. Had to walk around looking for condiments. Not one table had a full set of anything. Pickle barrels had a couple with just juice and no pickles in it and the lids are broken and falling in the barrels with the pickles. $38 for a couple burgers, sides, and drinks is too much to pay for bad food, bad service, and a disgusting environment to eat in.

Dont waste your time. We waited with our 5 year old for over an hour to get our food. We ordered a burger, a salad, and a grilled cheese. Nothing too complicated. When my husband went to see how much longer at the 1 hour mark he was told there were 7 more tickets in front of ours. We finally gave up, got a refund, and headed to Whataburger. What a disgrace I would like for the owner to reach out to me. Seriously, it was the worst experience in Mansfield. I will not recommend this place, waste of money. Waited 35 minutes just to order, and I waited 50 minutes for cold food! The manager didnt care (no one did), and the cooks not only cook but also have to help when the manager disappeared. So that means that the cook is touching everything with her gloved hands, doesnt change the gloves, but goes back to touching the food. Pulls her pants up a couple of times and goes right back to touching peoples food. If you want a restaurant that is run by kids than come here. It appears the staff wasn t set up for success tonight; counter service took awhile to order due to her having to make the milkshakes (popular item here), and the food took 45min (2 burgers & 2 sides). Looked like they just had 1 cook and one on garnish. Positives: Bartender was cool and made a solid margarita and the playlist was the best!

Wife and I came in with an hour budgeted for dinner before going to a show. Dining room was full, but there was no line to order. It took 45 minutes to get our food. Based on the tempo of orders being called, it seemed the kitchen was cooking orders individually. When our food was finally ready, the chips were visibly burnt. The burgers lacked seasoning. We were out of time before our show, so we did not stay to make a complaint. The ambience is nice here, but (at least when we visited) it seemed like the kitchen was actively trying to get the business shut down.

Saturday night, I understand it s busy and we will probably have to wait a while. But after waiting almost an hour and then noticing people who arrived after us getting their food, I went to check on our order. I guess we skipped it was the answer. Wow. Completely forgetting an order and then nonchalantly blowing it off as if it is nothing. Food looked good but I wasn t willing to stick around for another hour to find out. I can NOT recommend this place at all.

This place is consistently bad. Was hoping things have improved-they have not. No flavor to meat, salty everything, vegan burger was falling apart, not a patty at all and terrible flavor. Buns stale. Bar tender rude and the old fashioned had no orange, no cherry and tasted awful. Really don t waste your money or time.

Twisted Root Burger is located in Historic Downtown Mansfield, TX, in The Backyard, serving great burgers, chicken tenders, shakes, and more! We came through on a weekday after the lunch rush, and it was fairly crowded but placed our order in seconds. The ordering concept is easy as to where you place your order with the cashier in the front, and they give you a name card and call it when the food is ready. Our name for the day was Elizabeth Taylor, and our food was ready in minutes. There are plenty of tables and booths inside the restaurant, and they also have a full service bar for alcoholic beverages and also serve By the Horns draft beer. The interior was decorated nicely and had a lot of pictures and photos to look at. They even had the famous lamp leg that was featured on the move The Christmas Story. There are also barrels filled with different flavors of pickles to choose from to complement your meal. The options for pickles were dill, ranch, bread & butter, sweet & spicy, and atomic. We ended up getting the onion strings and chicken tenders with house made potato chips. The chicken tenders were nicely coated and cooked to perfection. They were seasoned well and very juicy, and I must say the dipping sauce paired very nicely with the tenders. The house made potato chips were deep-fried golden brown and tasted like the perfect chip while the onion strings were lightly battered and were very addicting as to where you found yourself constantly eating more and more. They also provided house condiments such as ketchup, a root beer BBQ sauce, Chipotle ketchup, and horseradish Dijon mustard. Overall, this fine establishment was great to get a quick bite and drinks with friends and family. They have an awesome happy hour on drinks with multiple TVs by the bar area. Prices were fair and average while the service was great, and the staff did an amazing job with customer service. Im looking forward to coming back and trying more items like the cheese fries and the fried green beans and carrots.

Fries were soft and no flavor. Millionaire burger is more broke than anything. Overpriced to fill you up only on onions. It took 50mins for our order, and no I m not exaggerating. The people cleaning were slow to move around and check areas. Only good thing is being able to be out with music and friends.

All fabulous ...u guys may want to bolt the booth top to the far left corner of restaurant...before it flips up on someone. Also the sweet tea is unsweetened. Up ur game..... ppl .....! update 3-2-24. ..I dont know what happened . Fries overcooked taste burnt. Burger ..the patty is 1/2 the size of the burgers when I first went there . I really want to give Twisted Root a 5 star review, because when they have veggie burgers in stock theyre delicious. I received a gift card to Twisted Root for my birthday from someone who took the time to find a place that offers a vegetarian option. Weve been 4 times since then - and 3 of those times they were out of veggie burgers - meaning I cant eat. Im super disappointed that I havent been able to use the $ on my gift card. Vegetarians, make sure you call ahead to verify youll be able to eat. :-( Vegetarian options: The veggie burger is great, but 3 out of 4 attempted visits theyve been out of them. Call ahead and ask.

Twisted root may be a sit in restaurant...but Ill never get it to go again...especially on a Friday night. There is no designated to go parking spot and the enormous parking lot has zero spots. I am fine with having to wait a little bit longer because of the packed house. But Id expect the order to be right at least. I ordered the Big Tex burger with bacon added...no bacon. Also there were no veggies to top the burger. My wife ordered the mushroom burger that was supposed to have bacon and be cooked medium rare. No bacon, no medium rare. No veggies for her burger either. Ive had this before at a different location where I ate there...picking up and bringing it home is not worth the close to 40 I spent for two burgers

The food was great. We told the cashier that it was our first visit. We asked if pickles come on the burger. She replied, No. After walking away to find a table, we see large barrels of pickles against the wall. It would have been helpful if she said no, you can choose your pickles over there. We also couldnt find a clean table. We had to use our personal wipes to clean our table. Ill visit again to give them another try.

The millionaire burger was awesome ! I couldnt finish it all at the restaurant but it was still juicy when I reheated it the next day. Their fries are fresh and delicious! Will definitely return. Ordered the American burger with a side of onion rings, fries, and a root beer float. The concept of this restaurant is rooted in American culture. The buzzers to know your food is ready has famous celebrities and characters, from Beyonce to Sponge Bob. There is a root beer spouts, barrels of burger condiments and a large bar at the center of the restaurant. It is a playful, eclectic restaurant. I loved the atmosphere, however not my favorite burger. The bun was nice and airy and was buttered, but the patty itself was dry and didn t have much flavor. They have many opt for burgers so I will try a different one next time- I don t like American chees. Fries were lacking seasoning but the onion rings were nice. The root beer float was great and loved that you get to poor your own root beer from the spout.

I have been here several times and the service was OK, this time Jan16th around 6 pm my experience was terrible. The menu says we will our burgers medium well unless you tell us , well I told them at least twice when I ordered that I wanted mine medium rare. It came well done, brought it to the counter and not a single apology, agreed to remake it and despite telling them that this was my dinner time with my family no rush on it s preparation . When it came out it was the same well done. Sadly not a single apology, they did give me my money back at my request but a burger place that can t do a burger at request as they state they could is not a good experience. I had recently met the owner and I wish he was there, he seemed like a nice guy and proud of his business , I am sure he would have handled it much differently. Don t think I m going back.

Don t bother going here, me and my gf both had over seasoned burgers with, my girlfriend s burger was raw, even the fried pickles were super salty. To top it off we ended up sick when we got home. Ordered the Freshman 15 with regular fries and a Oreo shake. Spent about $20. The inside isn t that big, so seating can be limited. There is outdoor seating though. Food was great and enough options for different preferences, nice environment, service was good and food didn t take long. There was classic rock playing which I could appreciate. I would recommend for dining in for great burgers. The bar was a little small with small TVs that I wouldn t recommend watching a sporting event here. Parking: Parking on Main Street is limited and reverse parking only which makes it difficult to park, but easier to leave. Parking lot in rear of restaurant, but shared with other businesses. Kid-friendliness: Casual dining and environment is acceptable for kids.

We visited here on 10/07, the food was delicious the staff was extremely friendly overall e erything was great until a couple entered the building with their dog. They placed their order and came to a booth and was seated as well as the dog which then he stood in the booth and on the table. I really felt they should have been asked to take their animal out doors. This was my first visit here so I was given the impression this was normal. I really hate that because I cant eat where this is allowed.

This was our first time at the Mansfield location and right away we were upset that they didnt have any fries. However, that gave us the opportunity to try the fried pickles and the house made potato chips. I would pass on the fried pickles because they were too salty. The vegabond burger was amazing. My husband enjoyed the all American burger and chips. The watermelon tea is a must and the Oreo milkshake was great. Not too sweet. Great place for lunch or dinner. Wow is all I can say. Tried this location before with issues but decided to give it another chance. Never will we come to this location again. Arlington is far better. Empty restaurant and employees just standing around. 1 guy picked up a to go order before us and his order had issues and they told him manager was gone to restroom so he just left. Set at bar to get drinks after ordering food. Took forever to get service, forget about getting another drink because everyone was hiding in the kitchen meanwhile the place was filthy. Counted at least 8 dirty tables. About halfway done eating 2 employees came to bar and just started doing nothing about complaining about other employees and how they couldnt poor drinks properly. Well excuse me maam you couldnt even take our 1st drink order in a time manner much less another round. Definitely will not be back. Better service at McDonalds and far cheaper.

Ordered burgers for a family of 4. Ordered fries, onion rings, and fried pickles. 2 soft drinks and a strawberry shake and Oreo shake. Food took 35 minutes. Fries were way too salty and overcooked. Pickle chips were overcooked as well. Onion straws were the only sides that came out okay. The shakes? I had to ask 3 times and it took 45 minutes after I ordered. The girl at the counter had the audacity to tell me she hadn t had a chance to make them because she was busy when i asked here for my shakes. Ridiculously mismanaged. There were no folks ahead of us so it wasn t like they were extremely busy. Also no silverware to be found. The Carrolton location is 100x better than this location. The food was great, and it was priced fairly for the quality and atmosphere. Service wasnt good, and neither was their soda options. It was my familys first time there. Never got our drink cups, and when we asked for them when our food came out, they were kind of hesitant. We really wanted to try their Root beer floats, but they were out. Which happens. 1/2, the tables didnt have any napkins or paper towels. We just went and asked another table since the staff wasnt overly helpful. They just didnt seem to know what was going on. It was 7:30 on a Saturday night, so maybe thats the problem. I doubt we will be back. I was surprised to find parking with plenty of room for my truck after I first saw the place, but there were a few people pulling out when we got there. So we were able to park right away.

Got the game meat burger, today s choice was camel beef. I ll just say, coming from tasting several game meat burgers this is by far the worst. The flavor on the patty is inexistent, not sure if I had a bad one. This is my first time at this location and first impressions are not the best. Recommend going for something more classic. Avoid this place for now. Management quit and the employees dont really care. I arrived here a little after 8pm and couldnt find a clean table. Its been a long day and Ive been waiting for my food for over 30 mins. The burgers were cold but the buns were warm. Go figure!!. Fries were cold. Crazy. Cook was eating while cooking and the same guy who took out the garbage handled our food using the same gloves. UGGGH They need a reset. Close the place for a few weeks, hire new staff, and clean this place up. A food inspector would shut this place down. Hmmm ... now thats an idea worth pursuing
