My first time at Del Toro, but not my last! I loved this simple yet cozy spot. It s casual and has a cute outdoor area so you can take your dog and they have some kind of game for kids. We stayed inside but it was good to see they had something for kids. My curiosity was piqued when I saw barbecue tacos on the menu. That s not something I have had, but my husband has. I went for something I was familiar with, Birria tacos. Omg! They were filled with meat and cheese, and were lightly fried. Anytime I ve gotten birria, there is some fat and juice involved, and theirs was similar. It lends to the flavor. The meat was tender and the broth that it is served with is SO tasty! It was a little spicy but a friend and I agreed the flavor is beautiful! I m an intermittent faster and a light eater,so I was ready for this meal, but one taco and Mac n cheese was enough for me, but my husband ordered two bbq tacos and shared in on the Mac n cheese. Prices are definitely affordable. Hubby loved the barbecue tacos as well as the macaroni n cheese. Normally, I don t eat pasta, but I wanted to try it. The cheese was very flavorful and the macaroni was cooked between al dente and stracotto. We finished it, no problem! The service was good. I ordered the cherry limeade cocktail and it was light and tasty. Yum! The only negative was that they ran out of the blonde beer my husband really enjoyed. Maybe someone enjoyed themselves to it before we got there. If you re in the area, GO FOR IT! You won t be disappointed!

Del Toro stands out as a restaurant where flavor and atmosphere meet perfectly. Their famous cornbread is simply exquisite: soft, fluffy and with just the right touch of sweetness, a delight that you cannot miss trying. The meats, on the other hand, are the soul of the place. Masterfully prepared, they have an authentic and juicy flavor that conquers from the first bite, whether you prefer a more tender cut or a more robust option.

First of all the wait staff thing threw me and I was wondering why are we doing this at a BBQ joint. You order from a menu and not at the counter. The red flag for me was there wasnt really any customers there. I got the Vaquero plate with ribs, brisket and burnt ends. My sides were mac & cheese and street corn. The elote had a vinegar thing going on with it and couldnt even eat it. The mac & cheese wasnt creamy at all. It wasnt freshly made and you could tell by the texture of it. The brisket, ribs and pork burnt ends all tasted as if it were leftovers from the previous day and definitely needed sauce. Oh I almost forgot that I did get the Texas Twinkie. They were smaller than what Im used to but they were great. Its a nice atmosphere and all but perhaps that was because it wasnt busy.

The food was good the only issue I had is they sell individually, like you cant buy 3 tacos for 1 price,so the taco i had was like $6 something,so if I wanted to buy another one Id have to pay another $6 for one. That can be expensive, atleast thats what our waitress told me. The craft beer was really good I had 2. But it was good its just I didnt feel I got a bang for my buck.

I really dig the feel of the inside and love love the oatio. They allow you to bring your dogs to enjoy the misting umbrella fans and evenly shared country and Mariachi music, which I love so big. I had the pleasure of meeting the shift leader whos name is Cassandra, she is a doll face in all the ways, very accommodating and helpful, I never felt I was being a bother or that she didnt have time for me or anyone else for that matter. Shes just what I needed today. Sunshine. Brisket nachos were yum yum good and though the menu is a bit odd in some spots with a bit of focus and open-minded change this tex mex bbq joint could be something to rave about on every level. I didnt know it was here and Im so so glad I stopped in !! If youre in town, treat yourself to some nachos, margarita and a punch of Cassie Sunshine if youre lucky !!! Thank you for my food and much needed distraction. Ill be swinging back by more than Ill admit.

This place was super cute! there was a market for local small businesses like @happy.sweets.happy on instagram and it was really cool. That said the service at the bar was meh and the smash burger had so much grizzle I had to give a good bit of it to the dogs. I would come back to the area to support the small businesses and try the other food but I would not come back here. Parking: We parked on the street which you can only back in to

Honestly confused on why this place even has waitstaff. It s set up as an order at the counter and the take care of yourself type place. I say this because the service was god awful for so many reasons. What makes it even worse is that the manager was sitting at a table in front of us working on their laptop - either oblivious or just didn t care about what was going on in their restaurant. Food was subpar for the price. Only saving grace was the beer was decent, despite it being lukewarm from sitting out so long before it was brought to us. Would not be surprised if this place was headed out of business.

Great beer that compliments the Q. Don t miss out on the Birria Tacos. Just as they should be: beef and onions complimented with spicy greasy goodness .perfection. 6/8/22 update: out of IPA today, sad but Rosa steered me towards the Thresher Wheat and it was a great compliment to my Mexican Chopped salad. Added the smoked turkey for a protein and was very impressed, delicious and juicy. Another winning experience at this downtown Mansfield gem. 7/10 update: enjoying some live music and great margaritas. Asked for reposado tequila not too sweet and Edwin made it perfect. 8/15/22 update New burger is excellent. Eat it quick, it is so juicy you don t want it to get soggy. Wish bacon was crispier. New brisket chili Frito pie is small but very tasty. 8/28/23 update: Must have a Twinkie, or two. Perfectly smoked Stuffed Jalapeño, beautiful. Shelby made me a Smoked Cilantro Margarita that was just the right amount of spice, can ask for more jalapeño if you want more heat. No change to the birria tacos thank god they are pure indulgence. 4/1/24 update: Another great IPA and another amazing Birria taco. I like to cut mine into little pieces and fully soak each one in the consumme. Wow! Big Hoss IPA was clean a nice hop bite. Slightly hazy. No off flavors here. Bathroom for every make and model, lol. I added more photos to show the summer open bar feel with the doors up.

Update: I took my family back to Del Toro and didn t have a good experience at all after having a great experience in the past. Sadly, the Staff Manager didn t allow us to get a replacement of brisket meat even though we asked politely (meat was fatty and we wanted a leaner cut). I was even going to just buy another side of meat, but I was never given the chance. The primary issue is the way it was handled when we asked, the staff manager was very terse and dismissive. After emailing the GM just to give constructive feedback, I never heard back at all from the restaurant. Sadly, I had to alter what was a previous 5 star review. I still like Del Toro s food otherwise, but they could use a better approach with how they treat loyal customers.

Del Toro is located off Main Street in the Historic downtown Mansfield, serving up great BBQ and craft beer from By The Horns Brewing that is located in The Backyard. We came through on a Friday night, and it was fairly crowded inside and out but managed to find a bench outside in The Backyard. There is free public parking across the street, also along Main Street, and behind the business. They have multiple benches and chairs to sit at outside with a heater to keep you warm in the cold Texas winter months. The ordering is pretty much simple as to where you order from the cashier, and they give you a buzzer to come and pick up your food when its ready. We went ahead and ordered the 4 meat platter in which we chose brisket, pork belly, pork ribs, and jalapeño cheddar sausage. As for the sides, we ordered the elote, mac n cheese, and loaded potato salad. We also ordered the nachos with queso to snack on for our appetizer. Within about 10 minutes, our buzzer went off, and the food was ready for us to pick up. The presentation of the food was beautiful indeed, and everything looked perfect in my eyes. The brisket was cooked perfectly and juicer than ever, while the pork ribs were bone fall off tender and seasoned to perfection. The burnt end pork belly was nice and burnt with a juicy finish that resembled a nice and sweet candy like taste. The jalapeño sausage was smoked right and had a nice snap back when biting into. The sides were a nice compliment to the main course and paired really well with the meats. My favorite was the loaded potato salad that tasted like a baked potato with all the toppings in a cold salad form. Overall, Del Toro was a great place to dine in with friends and family. The food was great and the atmosphere was lovely. Prices were fair and average, and the staff provided excellent customer service while I was there.

Had I not looked in the bag, they missed one of the sides. Manager could care less, it s time to listen to your customers and do better, even if one person. I also regrettably placed a 20% tip prior to receiving my order that was not deserved at all. I actually found this restaurant while trying to locate the brewery. They are one in the same. The bbq I had was good. The brisket was very moist, the side of Mac n cheese was good, the burnt ends were a little different than what Im used to but still worth it as the portions were quite generous. If one orders a plate, the meats are served at 1/3 lbs each for reference. There wasnt any table service as orders were placed at the bar and only brought to you. I recommend trying the local tap beer from the in-house brewery, my favorite was the Te Amo Lager. I do not recommend the margaritas, as good as they sound on the menu they werent great tasting at all. It is worth the visit for the generous portions of great tasting bbq and sauce, as well as the sides.

I gave a $14 tip in nibbled on the food & left the majority of it on the table , it came out cold .witch was a disappointed it seems like it might have been sitting back there for quite some time before they even brought it out. The cheese on the brisket nachos was totally cold. the macaroni and cheese was dry & cold I think I would have enjoyed the twinkie but it was cold. I tried my friends rib and it was pretty tasty tbh I give a 8.9 out of 10 And Im just giving my honest opinion but the cherry limeade was absolutely horrible it was more lime then anything. And you probably say well why you give a 14$ tip Our waiter came over to butter us up as we paying for our ticket I love a good hustler he wasnt interested where we from it was just time to get paid. Was better as a quick service counter order setup, no idea why the change to full service but it is being very poorly executed, go here with the family two or three times a month, and since the change the experience has been frustrating. Weve been three times since and had varying service, but mostly poor experience with servers. The Servers are not executing well, it was much simpler to place the order at the counter, get a beer from the bar, and not have to wait on mostly inept servers. Last visit after waiting 15 minutes for someone to greet us at the table I decided to get beers at the bar, a waitress came up to me there and said I needed to order drinks through her, not the bar, weird interaction, at the end I asked for my check and after 20 minutes had to go find our server who was chatting at the bar. If youre going to be full service you have to do it well, currently that is not the case. I really hope they can get it figured out, if this was my first experience here I likely wouldnt have been returning, but I know theyve made counter service work in the past, hopefully they get it figured out the food is awesome!

Id rate it a high 4 stars. It is pricie because it is BBQ and microbrews. The BBQ is great. The brew is good. The sides are different as there is a latin twist. I would recommend sampling the side before ordering. Mac and Cheese isnt just plain Mac it has added spice and peppers etc... this tends to be the case with certain sides so try before you buy. Also a little hack I learned the Texas Twinkies are considered a meat on the meat plates, (i.e. 2 and 3 meat plates) so if you like them you can order one as a meat. The atmosphere is phenomenal, being outdoor or indoor. They have a set of cornhole boards most of the time if the bags arent missing. I wish they had a little more room for the activities but overall a good fair-weather place to go for good food, drink and outdoor hangout for families. The adjoining two restaurants are owned by the same company and provide options for food for those that do not want just BBQ. Kid-friendliness: Out door space and a few small games for kids to occupy their time.

Located in the heart of downtown Mansfield, Texas, Del Toro BBQ serves delicious barbecue at a reasonable price! I highly recommend their signature burger, the Del Toro, and their Prime Brisket and Pork Belly Burnt Ends! Food: Their barbecue is legit! Juicy, melt-in-your-mouth bites of brisket and flavor-packed pork belly burnt ends - thats what you can expect at Del Toro. I will say, their Pork Belly Burnt Ends were a bit on the sweet side, but it did not take away from anything - just something to note. The Del Toro burger was fantastic - it held up well, jam-packed with flavor, and filling. It has their brisket, coleslaw, and chimichurri served on a brioche bun - just excellent! Service: We had a fantastic server. We came with a pretty large party (13) and she was able to seat us outside with the cool weather. She was quick to seat us, serve us, and attentive throughout the entire meal. Great service. Atmosphere: There was plenty of seating both inside and outside. We really enjoyed the outside seating. Our kids were able to get up and run around. Parking: Free parking on the street and in the parking lot behind the store. However, because it shares parking with Twisted Root next door, parking can be somewhat difficult to find. Youll end up finding parking if you park on the grass area. Kid-friendliness: Family-friendly environment. Welcoming. Tons of area for kids to run around and play outside. Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessible ramps and entrances in the front and back of the store.

However, the food left much to be desired. The smoked turkey was bland. The mac and cheese was dry. The birria taco was oily. My Love tried to doctor his food up the best he could but left with his appetite unsatisfied. We may give it another shot because we were soo pleased with the other elements, but not too sure after that meal.

Worst BBQ I ve had in a while. Staff must have left the meat out as ALL of it was dried out. Unsweet tea was terrible. Sides Mac cheese was dried out. Street corn was oddly bad. Management clearly doesn t care on a Sunday night. Edit raise from a 1 to a 3. Management gave us new food to go that was drastically better quality. There s no way their line people are trained not to serve overcooked meats like that.

I ve eaten here about six times, and I haven t had a bad meal yet. The brisket is flavorful, sliced thick, marbled but not fatty, with nice bark. It s proper brisket, like you expect to find at a boutique smoke shack. The ribs are legit as well. I ve had little bites of other meats and they were all very tasty, so it doesn t seem like you can go wrong with any of the meats. The tortilla chips are dusted but not overwhelmingly so, and the queso is so delicious you won t even care. It s a house recipe and definitely worth it. Try the coleslaw rather than the usual cabbage, it s a kale blend, but don t let that scare you. The kale doesn t come through at all; it s all delicious. You could abhor kale and absolutely love this slaw. The elotes are tangy, rich, creamy, and cooked perfectly. The bar drinks don t miss, either. The house margarita is balanced and comes in a high ball glass. If you like a spicy margarita, they have that and it s awesome. Service is always friendly and courteous. We were checked on multiple times, and twice it wasn t even our waitress who asked a sign of good overall staff training. The indoor seating area isn t huge, but can still accommodate a ten top without using up all the tables or anything. Tall tables in the bar area, and of course there is a lot of seating outside, some of it covered. I d like to have something to critique, but I just haven t had a bad experience or any bad food here. Even if I do, it ll go down as a one-off and I ll still come back.

First time visit was very positive! Located in a cute downtown area. Food was great. Very rich. We had the birria taco, brisket taco, Texas Twinkie, and mac and cheese. Would order each again and encourage others to do same. For drinks we tried the scotch ale and the IPA from the in-house brewery. Both excellent. Then we moved to the back patio to play ring swing game and split the smoked cilantro & jalapeño margarita. Another winner! The counter staff and bartender were both friendly and efficient. The restrooms out back (in the patio area shared with larger complex) have lots of individual private rooms that open to a communal sink/vanity island. Very inclusive! That patio will probably be popular when the weather cools down! We visited early evening on a Thursday, and it was not crowded, but I can imagine street parking being a bit difficult on a busy weekend night. Would definitely visit again and suggest it to friends. (Note about rank: I give 5 stars to places I both (1) am excited to return to and (2) am excited to tell other people about.)

Hands down this was a waste of money and pretty horrid BBQ. Two adults and a child for over $50 and we received so little food for our money it was unbelievable. So, we ordered the birria nachos, jalapeno sausage, sliced brisket, and turkey with slaw on the side. The birria nachos were sparse for the $9 charge. About a dozen chips topped with just a hint of brisket birria, some watery cheese sauce, and little bit of pico and some sliced jalapenos. The flavor was OK but it was bloody watery. For $9 and hardly any meat Id expect a good, creamy nacho cheese sauce. The slaw ... dear lord who in their right mind puts kale in coalslaw? It over powers absolutely everything. Not that the coalslaw dressing had any chance of flavoring the dish. It, like the nacho cheese, is watery instead of creamy and has very little taste. The turkey was the best of the group but it really is hard to ruin turkey breast if you dont over cook it. Nothing to speak of but at least it was juicy. The jalapeno sausage was OK as well. Nothing to write home about and certainly not worth what they charged for it. Finally, the brisket. We were served sad, greyish slices of beef brisket that were bereft of fat and flavor. Dry ... oh so dry. But the mightiest sin they committed was to serve brisket that had no smoke ring. No smoke ring which in turn failed to be accompanied by smoke flavor. And for this they wanted to charge over $20 per lb. Heres my recommendation; save your money and go to Spring Creek if you dont want real Texas BBQ. At least they serve juicy brisket with a bloody smoke ring and flavor. My better recommendation is if youre going to spend that kind of money on BBQ just go to a real BBQ joint, like Rail Head, and get some food youre going to enjoy.

I have no idea what s going on with that but we should of gotten the Mac n cheese. Jalapeño cheddar sausage was not smoked enough and the brisket was super fatty. Turkey was good but dry.
