Went today for lunch today. Had the best experience. The server was so friendly to my daughter. She helped her pick a small boil just for her, And boba. Food came out hot and fresh. Even the manager came by just to check on us and interact with me and my child. Great place to bring the family! Will be back again soon

Thank you for messing up my order & acknowledging that you did, but to tell me to call the driver back, because yall dont pay for delivery, so they wanted me to pay for my sauce & noodles to be delivered AGAIN!!!! This was my first time here. I really wanted some JUST clams. I was told I couldnt have just a 1/2 lb. I needed to get a full lb. Or another meat... I did not like that I was like hm ok. I got shrimp... This was a terrible mistake. And I hope you read this and tell your employees to PLEASE! Be mindful about what Im about to tell you. My whole bag ruined with MANY BROKEN shell clams. I didnt think that was appropriate. I feel like the cooks prepped my bag and just started abusing it!. I didnt even eat half of it and all he could do was take the clams off? Sweetheart the whole bag was ruined!. PLEASE ADDRESS THIS TO YOUR EMPLOYEES!! Very upsetting it was VERY expensive even with the clam removed. Plus! Our server couldnt think straight from sleep deprivation, hardly checked on us, couldnt remember our water till after we got our food, gave us the wrong ticket, (put the clam removal on it though) then when he gave us our real receipt he forgot to take the clams off. Needless to say no tip. The atmosphere was nothing to brag about it wasnt that hot to be placed right under a fan but to cool our food down before we could finish it.

So many restaurants are cutting corners, hiring just anybody of the street to cook, bus tables, and wait staff. Its obvious from the moment seated they want your return business. Freshness of the salad, the shrimp and oysters. No fishy smell from sitting out, chilled through and through, fried shrimp crispy cooked in fresh oil. Table and seats were clean no sticky from an uncleaned/rinsed cloth.

Went here with my wife (And 2-month-old) To celebrate our second wedding anniversary. It was our third Time here over the last several years. I always forget how good it is. Probably my favorite seafood place in Lubbock. I had fantastic muscles, clams, and shrimp with the citrus seasoning/ sauce. My wife doubled up on crawfish and shrimp with the garlic seasoning. Everything we ate was exceptional. We also added the hard boiled eggs for the first time and to my surprise they were very good with the seasoning. All of the staff was very nice.

I thought this place was a good number one rated place to eat bet I don t eat here ever again because I bought 1 pound shrimp one pound crawfish and broccoli mild garlic butter order gets to the table and guess what it s all messed up wrong flavor instead of mild it s medium there s no broccoli in the bag instead there s Sausage bet I don t do this again very upset! We told are server and she brought us broccoli that was in a bag toy no seasoning how does that help that s the whole reason we ordered broccoli so it could be in the sauce so yeah nope not good like it used to be I use to always eats here !

Called ahead to see if they were open on July 4 and the person who picked up the phone was friendly and super helpful! Showed up and was quickly seated and greeted by our super helpful server. Crab legs and shrimp boil was super delicious as well as the crab bites. Catfish and shrimp combo basket was also very tasty and generous portions! Our server Bree was super attentive and took good care of us! 10/10 will definitely be back here to eat again!

We took my Wife to Hook & Reel for Mothers Day. They were busy but our server was excellent. We got a boil for myself and my wife. It was excellent. Years ago, I had a contract that required relocating to New Orleans. I became familure with all the fresh seafood and Cajun cooking. The food at Hook & Reel is the best seafood I have found in Lubbock.

So I took my wife today for an early Mothers Day Dinner. We went around 645 is this evening. I knew it would be busy and our 10 to 20 minute wait turned into 40 minutes. I get it was a busy time but just be honest with wait times. When we finally got seated we waited another 10 minutes to even get someone to bring us water. The manager noticed us finally and asked if anyone had helped us yet and we said no so she got us our drinks and took our order. She was the only good thing about our service. We only saw our waitress maybe 3 times. We waited for refills forever. The food was ok. The sausage is very rubbery. I m not sure what kind it is but it s like chewing on a piece of rubber with spice on it. They really need to work on their service. I understand it gets busy but when you have to find someone to help you instead of them checking on you just doesn t seem right.

Everytime we have been here the experience has always been great! From the time we walk in the host is always so friendly and welcoming. Every sever we have had there have been great but recently we have been asking for Nicholas (Nick) and he is always outstanding. The specialty drinks were OK-ish. Our drinks tasted more like something from a dive bar, not a specialty restaurant. For the price, they should use more quality ingredients. The only thing fresh tasting about the drinks was the pineapple garnish on top. The food wasn t that great either. The crab leg cluster in our boil was way overcooked, which made it very difficult to remove the meat. The sausage we added to our boil was not andouille or a good quality substitute. It tasted more like an off-brand version of John Morrell. My husband even gagged a couple of times on the rubbery casing of the overcooked thinly sliced sausage. As first-time customers, we selected the Hook and Reel seasoning because it s their signature sauce. For their trademark blend, we were truly disappointed, I didn t care for it and my husband said it had a weird twang to it. We should have gone with the dry old bay Instead. The only thing we liked was the deep-fried calamari. The texture of the calamari was soft, not rubbery like some of the other places we ve tried, and the coating was light and crispy. The delicious appetizer and the good service from our waitress are the only reason we give this place two stars. We will not be returning anytime soon. Oh ya, and the drink menu was supper sticky and had all kinds of dried gloopy stuff on its pages. I had to wash my hands twice before eating my meal.

The food here is amazing. The coconut shrimp and crabmeat fries were top notch. The sweet potatoe fries are amazing as well. The food was hot and fresh. The only thing I dont care for, I wouldnt waste my time or money on is the alcohol drinks theres more juice then liquor and the desserts are not good as well. when the bill came they added 28 dollars in gratuity, I did believe a tip was coming but that just felt excessive and predatory. I had zero knowledge of this policy , they say for parties of 6 or more at this location and thats low for what I normally see. They explained its on the menu, it is in fact there amongst the warnings about shellfish allergies and other stuff you dont read. No signs anywhere in the building . I ask to speak to the manager because I one had no clue about the gratuity policy and two I had terrible service , I never got a refill, we waited a long time for our server to come give us our check to leave she dropped the plates and that was about it, kids where running around and playing all over the place with no one stepping in, screaming at the top of their lungs .. at 3 different tables. I have 3 kids that didnt move or respond but at some point its not a chucky cheese the manager should step in when the building is ringing with kids barking and howling , playing tag across an entire half of the resturant. When I challenged the bill and explained my terrible service the manager called police on me so I filmed her, she lied about me refusing to pay my bill as she would not take payment for the meal and let me tip her cash ( I even stated I was comfortable tipping 15 as they may split tips) , I was disputing the charges because my service sucked , she knew it sucked as she was at the desk glued to her phone the whole time vs managing a business. 28 dollars isnt going to break me, its an ethics thing, I legitimately felt robbed and was unhappy with my service. The manager went so far as to ask me to not return. The waitress with the absolute most entitled attitude ever berrated me for complaining about my service. I have since filed a report with the attorney General as the law states the customer must be aware before they order , it does say it can be on the menu but it must be predominantly displayed. This was the most petty experience Ive ever had at a resturant, I just felt like as a consumer I needed to stand up for myself and make a point that if you do a terrible job you shouldnt be paid as if you gave great service. Most issues at restaurants I just take in stride , if I have issue with the food, I let them know after Ive paid so they dont think Im trying to get a free meal. We live outside of town now and dont eat out as often as its a long drive, last Christmas they where open for some reason so we stopped in and had dinner and I tipped 100 dollars because they where doing a great job and I knew anyone working that day deserved a big tip, this is my first time back since then at it was night and days different in service and quality, its like the service of a waffle house with fancy steak house prices.

We came in for the first time to try some boiled seafood. The waiter might have been new, but didn t seem to know much when we would ask questions. My husband and son both had the boiled seafood, and it was very very very spicy. They ordered just spicy, but are slightly convinced they may have accidentally been given fire, which is a hotter choice. I ordered the grilled chicken salad and was very impressed by the spring mix greens that looked and tasted fresh. We also had the crab french fries, and they were delicious. The french fries tasted crisp and fresh. They have sinks to wash your hands after you eat, without having to go to the bathroom, which was very convenient. I only took one star away, because it just simply was not a five star experience. I would recommend the wait staff know everything about the menu so they can answer any questions. And also, there are things on the menu that they did not have. In my case, it was just honey mustard dressing, but there was not another option that I wanted. I would recommend having everything that the menu says they have.

I spent $100 and the crab was overcooked. Stuck to the shell, wasnt easy to eat. Loved the shrimp, loved the noodles. Really loved the scallops. Corn and potatoes were good. The house sauce was decent. Supremely disappointed in the burbon pecan pie, it was overpowered by the flavor of the bourbon, complete waste of a dessert. First time visiting. The clam chowder was literally water with white coloration. Second, the crawfish was not tasty. Third and final, two people sharing the crawfish plus an appetizer totalled over $80. Add tip, youve blown over $90 for a subpar meal. It just isnt worth it. The server was pleasant, yet the quality of food and cost insures no return visit. Sorry, but I work too hard to waste that type of money.

Ordered the fish basket....Cajun fries were good fish was VERY fishy. Could not finish brought home to my pups they had to second smell it. Server was not very attentive. Tasted gumbo bahahaha were from Louisiana and this tasted like progresso soup. No rue no taste. I would NOT go again.

I got blocked in because I parked in the Crunch Fitness parking lot. Their food truck decided to block about six of us in on one row of spaces Parking: I literally was forced to ask a handicap vehicle to move so that I could squeeze between another vehicle and their semi truck

We always enjoy our meal when we are able to eat here, as the service is quick, and we re able to get in and get out. But lately the closing hours are so inconsistent, it has become difficult to make it in. For example tonight, the hours, as updated a couple of months ago, state they are open until 10pm, but at 9:15, we were told they were no longer seating and the kitchen just closed.

First off, the food was nothing note worthy. Average at best. Service was decent, Ive had worse. But the cost is outrageous. For 1 person, 1 meal (not the most expensive one), 1 adult beverage, an appetizer, and iced tea was almost $100 BEFORE the tip. My advice, save your money and eat elsewhere.

Our entrees were excellent, but everything else was poor-to-average. For the entrees, we had the fried shrimp and flounder baskets. They were fresh, hot, flavorful, and the portions were good, but I was surprised that they sell fried fish but dont carry malt vinegar. The gumbo was terrible, especially for a restaurant that uses Cajun as a descriptor. It was watery, lacked seasoning, and just tasted like rice and boiled shrimp. The margarita was the first anywhere that we have ever sent back. It just tasted like ice, as though the bartender was in a hurry and left out some crucial ingredients. The cocktail that replaced it was decent. The Bloody Mary was good, but was served without a garnish. Again, the entrees were very good, but our first experience at Hook & Reel was overall disappointing.

Everytime i come my experience is always great, when you walk in the smell and fragrance of spices greet you at the door, you dont have to worry about a overly smell of fish or a seafood stinch which i absolutely hate, also the servers are awesome and my food comes out fresh everytime.! I love to get the shrimp seafood mini boil and add extra corn with the cajun butter sauce with a side of lemon pepper butter sauce and a side of lemons.! Mmm mm good.!!!! Kid-friendliness: Kids are welcome
