Normally we love Spanky s. Tonight our treatment was beyond trash. We got out our drinks and cheese sticks. But never received our food. Literally waited 45 min and told 2 different workers we haven t got food. Not even exaggerating when I say a group of Tech kids walk in (while we re still waiting 45 min in) and they got their food within 5 min! Again we told the waiter hey we haven t got our food still waiting. He said I know we told them and they just dropped y all s chicken strips. He said y all s other food is ready it s under the heat lamps. So you mean to tell me we are getting 30 min old heated food waiting on chicken strips? Nawwww we ll pass! Requested a refund and left! Never going back!

Chipotle sandwhich and fries. Lets begin this analysis with, the overcooked chicken. The tough layer that builds on the side when its beyond overcooked, had to rip it off like a bandaid. Next lets move on to the sauce, its normal Chipotle, nothing special just an almost ok attempt. But lacks depth and character. Lets move onto the cheesesticks. Overbatteted, the sheer size is off-putting. The amount of grease can and will deter anyone who is a true cheestick lover. Imo woodys on 34th street, has better hands down. Now this isnt a hate post by all means. Just pointing out that, as a chef, I wouldnt pay the price they are asking for subpar taste and quality. Its almost a tourist trap now. The only thing they have going is location.

Spankys is one of the few places you can get a Monte Cristo sandwich, and though compacted like a purposeful representation of shrinkflation, it has all of the components tastefully intact! The famous fried cheese is, well, cheesy, so thats a plus! When I got up to get a refill on my soda and a to-go container, one of the floor staff got overzealous and took 1/2 my sandwich away, and one of my fried cheese away. I was all prepared to get upset, but a manager stepped in and got a reorder on the Monte Cristo and 1/2 order of fried cheese. Now THAT is customer service! Ill be back and bring family or friends.

These burgers were SO GOOD. Everything was good. Their chicken strips came with gravy, which we were pleasantly surprised with. All of it was good. We got their famous cheesesticks, and they actually were the only thing we didnt love. They needed salt. They were VERY cheese heavy to have no (or not enough) salt in them or in the breading. We will for sure be hitting this place up again next time were in Lubbock Parking: Parking was less than desirable, but I think we went right as they were opening so we didnt have an issue, but leaving was not fun. Parking is right off a very busy road Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly, our kids loved it

This burger joint is a long time staple for Lubbock. Their fried Cheese is hands down the bestest in Lubbock. This review is from my recent visit. The margaritas have fab mixtures, like blueberry pomegranate, but this time lacked any alcohol. Seriously, after a long stressful day with no food that first sip should instantly been felt. Drank the whole margarita hoping somewhere in the glass there was alcohol. The biggest disappointment after not eating all day and anticipating one of their big juicy burgers was a massive let down. The Swiss Mushroom burger was only meh. Not juicy like Spankys burgers from the past..The meat nor the mushrooms had any flavor. The buns were fab at least. At least the fries were fresh and tasty.

Great burger joint! This place came highly recommended for their fried cheese- and it did not disappoint- great breading but even better breading to cheese ratio- they are large cheese sticks. In addition we had the Monte Cristo and the swiss mushroom chicken sandwich. Both were very good- Parking is tight but there is additional parking in back! Seltzers and beer were available as well.

Good place if you just want a burger, no gluten free buns available. It has been around a long time and holds some nostalgia for many but we found it kind of worn-out and dirty. Most of the bathrooms were out of order. Our grandson enjoyed the large order of onion rings and a mushroom swiss burger. We had just a burger patty and a side salad. I guess the location near the Tech campus is the main attraction.

Nothing special at all. Kinda in between Sonic and Whataburger. The Good : Portion Sizes The Bad : All very bland. Onion Rings had zero seasoning in the batter not even a speck of pepper. Also, undercooked. The onions were not consistently done and batter was doughy in places. Cheese sticks, see above. Zero seasoning. Not done. Cheese still cold in middle. Classic Cheeseburger Cheese was not even melted on pattie. Advertised at 6 OZ patty. No way. What burger single meat WAY better. Green Chile Chicken Sandwich. Decent. Cheese also nor melted. Tasted like something from Sonic. Crinkle cut fries were very good, seasoned well and done crispy. Overall disappointing considering the 4.2 internet rating. Would not choose to go again.

I ordered a crispy chicken sandwich. It was good. I was at a training, so there were about 10 of us that went for lunch. Ordering was quick and food came out shortly after I got my drink and sat down. We were able to eat and make it back to our training in ample time. I would recommend this place.

First time trying their food. My husband looked them up online. Amazing & friendly service. I had the club sandwich with fries. I think thats the best Ive ever had. I fell in love with the hotter than hell sauce tables were a little dirty. But we just used wet wipes to clean, due to them being real busy. I highly recommend this place. It is a Lil pricey but worth it. My husband had the hotter than hell burger and it was great! I love how crispy their fries are. I will be returning to try the cheese sticks everyone recommends. Thanks again to the sweet young girl who took our order. I wish I had gotten her name.

Service was fine, but for 3 burgers we spent 53 dollars!!! Out freaking rageous! And the fries and drink are not included. You choose one or the other. Why should it be included? Because this place has the same level of food quality as McDonalds and they include fries and a drink. Also this is another pos business that gives you back the charge for using your debit card. All businesses get charged for accepting cards, but only the garbage ones pass that charge back on to the customers.

So first off- Im not from Lubbock and Im visiting this place based off the stellar recommendations from some friends that currently attend the university near by. With that said, the moment I walked into the establishment looking for seating I ask the cashier with no current line if she could have someone clear a dirty table as it was the only seating that would accommodate my party size. This worker with washedout colored hair immediately and rudely commented that I order first then worry about that. Ok no problem, a little weird but I order when the rest of my party arrives shortly after. After being RUSHED through ordering and the same employee giving the rudest service possible to me asking questions about THEIR menu while there was nobody in line behind us,we spent about ~$60. All this for NONE of the no onion/no tomato requests we made were not followed. In all honesty it was like there was WAY MORE onion and tomato added to the burgers because we made the changes. All this to have a unenthusiastic manager hesitantly refund 1 and a half out of 4 sandwiches that were wrong. We will not be returning and anyone thinking of visiting be cautious. You are spending money at your own risk to be treated poorly. Oh and the food is fried/made with old oil so expect that not to go down good either.

Ordered before others that came in AFTER us. Waited 45+ minutes for our food while watching other peoples food come out. Servers didnt seem to notice or care. We don t live in Lubbock but have heard that this place was very good. We came here and initially the guy working downstairs was very friendly and helpful. When we got upstairs to order and eat, we were greeted by a less than enthused young lady that seemed as if we were a bother than anything. We have a large family and we ordered 5 kids meals, 2 adult meals and the famous cheese sticks. The total was $64. The food came out really fast but the food was just your average frozen foods. I got a BLT, which was what you would think and my wife got a bacon chicken sandwich, she loved it. Over all just mediocre place to eat. Neat atmosphere, rude staff, and mediocre food.

The service was friendly but slow. Most of our food was good (burgers, patty melt, fries, okra), but the chicken Caesar salad was terrible - the dressing tasted like Italian dressing rather than Caesar and the lettuce was not the best. For the cost, it was disappointing. Our bill was $70-$75 for two adults and 3 kids . I understand Costa have gone up everywhere but for those prices the whole experience should be excellent.

My DD Ordered a classic chicken sandwich and was brought a burger. When we told the waitress, it was the wrong order, she gave attitude, then took it back and said it would be 10 minutes for the chicken. Then she brought a grilled chicken sandwich with onions and mustard and cheese, which was not what was ordered. I had a Cobb salad, the lettuce was wilted and red because it was old. We came here our whole time at Tech and frequent it every time we come back. We were following the rules of their sign same as always and when we got to the cash register were told that we weren t able to order because there were no tables. Their sign says to order then sit. Their staff belligerently refused to take our order and told us to step to the side until we could find a table or we could order to go. We were told the sign doesn t apply because it s game day. That s fine, but the sign should change or there should be an employee explaining the change as you come in. The cashier also wouldn t let me order two beers since my husband wasn t with me when I was ordering and she couldn t see his ID which doesn t follow TABC policy which allows you to walk away with two drinks per person and she had verified my ID. So I can order a bucket of beers but not 2 beers? When our food came, our daughter s meal was missing and I was told I would need to get back in line to order and pay for it. The line was 20 people deep. Kind of the worst experience ever for 2 alumni who were back with kids in tow for homecoming weekend in the centennial year for Tech.

Got 2 burgers 2 fries and a drink. Bread and fries were both stale. 29$ for two mediocre burgers and some cold, stale fries and a drink. Do yourself a favor and go to Christakis on 34th if youre craving a burger and get your moneys worth.

A staple and tradition for anyone visiting or attending Texas Tech! Great food at a very reasonable price, along with pretty inexpensive beer on tap. Its located right off campus, literally right across the street from the main entrance to the University. Dont forget to write your name on the wall! Parking: There is parking, however, its very limited in the actual parking lot. Theres also street parking all around the area. Kid-friendliness: When I went for lunch it was filled entirely with families that had children of all ages.

Will NEVER be back!!! My order had a dead fly in it. Husbands food was so salty he couldnt even eat it. Sons food was way overcooked and hard. We didnt even get our sweet tea until we were LEAVING. We talked to them about it and all we got was sorry and no offer of a refund. So VERY disappointed!
