We had eaten here before and thought the food was great, so we decided to take my mom and son here for their birthdays. Sadly, today, it was an awful experience. They had us wait for 1 hr and 20 mins, when they originally said the wait time was 35 min. We never got a table,but we saw so many parties that were there after us, be seated. We asked twice about this, and they didnt seem to care. We ended up leaving to celebrate somewhere else. Best decision ever

We visited on a weekend and there was a bit of a wait for a 5 top table. Decided to try out the bar and start with a Chilton Flight! Each flavor was delicious and more different than the previous. Chips snd salsa were great. The bartender was awesome so when our table was ready I opted to continue with the bar service. The menu offers many options so I asked for a recommendation. Our food was delicious and of very good quality. We had been waiting so long to try this restaurant and it surpassed all our expectations. Fantastic all around. We will be back on our next visit to Lubbock. Can t wait.

I ve lived in Lubbock for over a decade and this place has been around for at least a few years that I know of and I kept passing by here and never stopped by until yesterday. I had some chicken street tacos, gluten free cheesecake and a mocktail(I believe that the cheesecake and mocktail were off a seasonal menu that goes to a charitable organization). All the things I ordered were absolutely fantastic!!! I was so impressed and really enjoyed the gluten free cheesecake. Our waiter was entertaining and on top of things. The hostess was nice too. My date did have a complaint and that was that the chips were overly salted. Not sure if that is a normal thing but I would suppose being lighter on the salt could be good for people as there is salt on the table to add freely. But overall I really loved this place and love that it s family owned and that they give back to the community. I will continue to come back for the foreseeable future when I m in Lubbock.

Enjoyed some delicious Mexican food at this family-owned local restaurant. The decor is beautiful and our server was great. The shrimp, chicken and beef fajitas were all cooked perfectly and oh so good. The tortillas were fresh and the chips and queso were wonderful. Our enchiladas were yummy. We want the recipe for their rice. It was the best we ve ever had. Can t wait to go back!

I waited till id eaten here a few times to rate it and I must say it has been good for this style of a Mexican food place. Its good by Lubbock standards... But weve had some ok and a bad meal here in the last few months. By ok I mean less than fresh dishes that were not seasoned well, or hot sauce that was made from canned and a few steps up from Pace. By bad, part of my dates and my own plate was inedible. Soured canola oil is a powerful.... Flavor additive. In this case the meal was comped. But I dont plan to return. At its best this place has a great enchilada plate, and as a positive the drinks have always been good if not prices at the normal pricey level places like this run.

Worst service I ve ever experienced. Not the waitress s fault. They put her in the back room and had her try to serve between 30 and 40 people by herself. What do you expect? When I asked for the manager he came out with his long hair in his face. Shirt untucked and the top buttons undone. I thought he was the dishwasher at first. What a great place again -each time we go here we are surprised at the friendly service. How much the waiters do truly care. We never had to ask for one thing. They always knew you needed a refill on your drink or a go box as well. Food was delicious and came out hot and fresh. On our last trip there was 14 of us and the waiters never acted like we were in the way.... They seemed very happy to wait on us all even though four of us were kids under 10. We love it! My family and I flew in from out of town and decided to try this restaurant. My husband and I both got the ribs and birria combo, I only ended up eating two of the ribs and both tacos. Besides just honestly not really liking the food, although the service was great, not long after we left my stomach started getting upset and I felt nauseous until late in the night. The food was amazing, as usual! I got the sour cream chicken enchiladas and a skinny margarita, both of which were delicious. Our server, Hallie, helped make sure my daughter with Celiac disease got gluten free food, took extra measures to prevent cross contamination. When you first walk in and hear the good Spanish music and the look of the place you d think you were in for a real Mexican treat. Boy was I disappointed! The Gordita shel has great flavor but the Asado meat is touch and over cooked. I also had the menudo and it had zero flavor! Meat was also tough and the corn was still hard also. My Wife had the breakfast enchiladas and I m not sure who came up with that but it needs to go back to a cook that can add some flavor as well. Servicer didn t know what she was doing and couldn t answer any questions about the plates. Mind blowing! Overall very disappointing breakfast and a waste of $60!

The service was terrible. Took 15 minutes for anyone to acknowledge our existence after we were seated. There was a couple in the booth next to us who literally sat down and then left because the waitress wouldn t talk to them and they never had a clue about it! After they left without being noticed, another couple sat down and they were delayed so much that they had to leave early as well. The manager (or who we thought was the manager) kept apologizing and offered to comp their meal but they refused. It took another 20 minutes for us to get our food. So to recap, 35 minutes with only 2 guest interactions before we received our food. Once the food arrived it was hot & delicious it s just that it took forever. After we finished we waited another 10 minutes just waiting on someone to care. Then the manager asked us if we wanted our ticket and then had the waitress bring it out. Didn t really offer an apology or anything. We weren t looking for a free meal cause we re not those types of folks but it woulda been nice to receive a sincere apology. Service just straight up sucked tonight!

Christian gentlemen with a mustache and glasses gave the best service my wife and I have in a long time, he s made me realize there s still good service. Eating out seems to have lost its meaning recently but Christian has made our night with his upstanding performance. 10/10

From my favorite fajitas to deciding how often we go here now. Service is getting challenging. We ve had incredible experiences here. I know it s getting harder to find great employees. We were seated in a booth for several minutes while a server talked to her friends (customers) three steps away in the booth next to us. We went several minutes without being acknowledged. I finally went and asked to be seated in a new section. Then we ordered white green chili queso. It came out yellow and no green chilies. We asked about it. The server came back and said, I asked them if this was the right queso and they said when it reheats it turns yellow like that. How many times has it been reheated? What happened to the green chiles? This is the most recent of a series of lesser experiences. I m bummed. These are great people with a great vision. I want them to succeed.

I have been going to this place for quite a while, and actually thought the food and drinks were pretty decent, but after the last visit, I will never go back. We went on a Thursday night for my husband s birthday and it was weirdly busy for the middle of the week. We were told the wait would be about 45 min to an hour, so we decided to stick it out. This was a little before 7, so at least 2 full hours before they closed. We waited, and waited, and waited, checking in periodically, and we re just repeatedly told that we would be moving up the list, but we noticed nobody around us was getting a table either. After all these check-ins, and not being given any information about what was going on, we finally had someone come out and tell us a little after 8:15 that even if we did get seated, it was going to be over an hour wait for our food to come out, and that the kitchen closed in 45 minutes, so basically we were just gonna be out of luck on getting any dinner. This is completely unacceptable. If you were going to be too busy to take on any more customers, just say that, instead of making us wait an hour and a half just to be told that we re not gonna be able to eat dinner. We drove a block down the street to Albarran s and we re seated IMMEDIATELY, got our food in a quick amount of time (it all came out hot and fresh), and got the added bonus of a live mariachi band! I am so disappointed in Picoso s, but glad another business was able to salvage our night.

They make you wait when 3/4 of the restaurant is empty.I wonder if the owners know the help won t fill up the place. The wait is at least 40 minute on a Tuesday night. When you are finally able to order they are out of things on the menu. Won t be returning.
