We went there yesterday (9/27/24) and service was really bad. The first waitress took forever to get our drink orders and then didnt even get that right. We never got our silverware from the hostes. We ordered chicken stripes because it was the special and they were overcooked. It seemed that they needed to change the oil. Then the waitress let us know that she was leaving and gave is our check so we could cash out. Then the second waitress was even worse. Took forever to get our drink order. Some more of my family showed up and it took her a while to get their order. We sat there waiting for her to come and get us another drink but she never came. We asked the bus guy of he could get our waitress and she didnt come. My husband finally had to stop her. She said sorry they were short staff. But we saw her at least 3 times go to the table across from us. And Im sorry your busy but its your job to check on all your tables. Yall service was so bad that I didnt even want to leave a tip. But I did. We will not return. Oh and the restroom was disgusting.

We had the All American burger and they were very good! The manager knows what they re doing with who they hire. We had Cami as our server and she was very on point, very friendly, and attentive throughout the meal! While we had a great time here, she made it more enjoyable and we will definitely be visiting Ground Zero more often now!

Came to ground zero tonight to enjoy wings and the crown special. The environment was wonderful and great vibes all around. The bartenders are super fast and their customer service wa impeccable. Kyrie really made sure to engage with me and make sure my drinks were always full. Will be back and if you are thinking about coming do it and ask for Kyrie

This spot is possibly one of Lubbocks best kept secrets! This place has great food and do specials on food and drinks all day everyday! The atmosphere is great too - staff is very friendly, lots of TVs playing sports and good tunes on the speakers. Theyll also bring in a DJ at times. Before 9 om, theyll even valet your ride! Seriously, you can eat and drink great here for a very inexpensive price!

Wing Wednesday?? This is the place to be! We go every week were feeling like wings! 50cents a pop, easy!! I think its nearly impossible to get bad service here when so many people are checking on you! We love the vibes and the food. The reason I gave it 4 stars on food was that the cheese sticks were not done all the way thru. But its the rest of the food and experience that gave it a 5 overall! We had about 25 wings and the sampler app. You can mix wing flavors, people! Please do this!!! We had buffalo lemon pepper and bbq. Sampler consisted of loaded fries cheese sticks and fried pickles

My wife and I ate at Ground Zero yesterday for the very first time. We were just blown away with how good the food, service and atmosphere was. We will definitely be back. The wings and the fish strips were delicious. The employees were very attentive and you just cant beat the customer service friendly staff. Long story short: less than mediocre diner food in a pleasant atmosphere. Upon walking in, you can smell the old grease. Spinach and artichoke dip was terrible. Its almost entirely made of cream cheese and came out chunky and nearly cold. Brussel sprouts were pretty good. After the appetizers, the food all came out at different times. Fried shrimp were severely over cooked and very rubbery, not to mention they used corn meal for breading, so to bite through it was like breaking the shell of a crawfish claw with your teeth. Mashed potatoes were bland and the cabbage wedge was just a 1 sliver of cabbage and came out when I was halfway done with my meal. Green beans seemed to have been sitting in bacon grease for hours and were soggy and clearly just reheated. The owner was there and asked a few times how everything was. I playcated him the first couple times, but when he asked the third time, I was completely honest and put it to him as nicely as possible. He thanked me and offered to take care of the bill (after I already paid), but funds were never restored and I was still charged. Only silver lining was a good playlist. Will not be back!

My family and I went for first time on a recommendation. I knew the minute we walked in that it was not going to be a good experience for me. The restaurant smelled so bad. It smelled like old grease. Two of us ordered fried shrimp. It was so tough that we could not bite it. We ordered spinach and artichoke dip. It came out as one big round glob of cream cheese and artichokes. Never seen anything like it. We will not recommend this place nor will we return.

Slow service, cold food, not worth the wait or the money. Ordered a 14oz ribeye medium rare and got what is pictured below. It was cold and so were the green beans. Only thing hot on plate was mashed potatos. Asked to speak with manager and waited 30 mins and still no manager...finally after waiting I was able to get a manager when he walked by. Service was so poor that when our appetizers were brought out we had to ask for silverware and waited 20 mins to get silverware. Appetizers were cold by the time we got silverware. Tried to get our bill and couldnt get anyone to bring bill....should have just walked out...literally waited another 30 mins just to pay our bill. Ate cold appetizers, had a horrible meal that could not eat, and waited forever to cash out. Worst dining experience ever!!!

We tried out Ground Zero for the first time Saturday night and WOW is all I can say! Everything we had was delicious! For our appetizer we got the brussel sprouts, my husband got the oxtail plate special, and I got the liberty pasta. Everything was sooooo good! Our daughter ordered the all American cheeseburger and said it was the best burger she had ever had (she s 9, so take that with a grain of salt!) but she scarfed it down which is a major feat for her because she s a picky eater. We will definitely be back! It s a neat place, free valet parking, and good atmosphere. Go check it out!

First time here and wont be back! Host not interested in hosting and the immediate urine smell was a bit awkward. Food was subpar and didn t even get everything that we ordered to the point we had to take it to go in scraps. Sweet tea is unsweet tea with sugar at the bottom of the glass. When you have to leave a restaurant and go pick up food else place that should tell you enough. Might just be a place to drink alcohol if that.

While the restaurant looks nice, and the staff is polite, I would not eat here again. A friend and I came in at 11:40, did not leave until 1, and that was because it took so long to get food. It was not busy in there. Had the appetizer platter with onion rings, mozzarella sticks, and fried pickles. The only good thing was the onion rings. It took 30+ minutes to get our entrees - burger with potato soup and fries, and a chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and green beans. The potato soup looked like mashed potatoes. I could tell the exact brand of frozen fries they used. The mashed potatoes and green beans had no seasoning. The chicken fried steak was extremely tough and underseasoned, came out cool, and the gravy was like a thin, watery sauce with no flavor.

My partner and I came for a lunch date. First, the parking is a little confusing, but don t worry, they have FREE valet!! Super friendly valet and made the parking experience so easy. Second, the atmosphere was casual and fun. Third, service was quick and friendly, our waitress was very attentive and kind. Fourth, my partner prefers the leg of lamb and I ordered a burger. My burger came out first, the owner came out shortly after they gave me my food and explained the lamb would take a bit longer. He talked us through the cooking process and why it would take just a few minutes longer. He even brought out the most amazing spinach and artichoke dip for my partner to snack on while we waited. We appreciated the care they took to make the lamb leg and it did not disappoint! The lamb was tender, juicy and sooo flavorful! Drinks were amazing! My burger was soooo delicious. Hands down one of the best experiences I ve had at a lubbock restaurant in awhile. 100% will be back!

So right off the bat the sprite was flat. Waitress got me another sprite and it was still flat. The food was underwhelming to say the least. We ordered the appetizer platter with boneless wings, bone in wings and onion rings; the seafood basket with a side of Mac and cheese and the stuffed chicken entree. Per the waitress the food was made fresh My boneless wings and onion rings were cold. My mom s mashed potatoes were bland and the asparagus was over cooked (the owner got us another order but they were soggy and overcooked as well). The chicken was moist but also bland. The Mac And cheese was refrigerator cold and had no taste. I had the waitress feel how cold the bowl was before sending it back. There is no way that was fresh. Overall the food was underwhelming, overcooked and bland! I must say that the owner was very polite and our waitress checked on us often. I ll give it a year or so before we try it again. Note: we parked on the 5th floor but the elevator wasn t working. Valet is free on the weekdays but $5 on the weekends.

Went here during the 50 cent wing special on Wednesday. The food is decent and only acceptable for the 50 cent price. I would not pay full price for the wings. The beer is cold and decently priced at $9 for around 40 ounces. Cleanliness of the restaurant is questionable and so is the service. Overall it is very subpar and there is much left to be desired. 2/5.

Gave this new restaurant a try to support local but it was a disaster of an experience. Ordered a bar drink and when it still hadn t been delivered after 10 minutes, told the server to just cancel the order. Literally 30 minutes later, another server tried to bring it to us. We were sitting right by the bar and it was evident the bartender didn t know how to make a simple drink. We ordered the catfish basket and a pasta dish. The catfish was served and 10 minutes later the owner came by and asked if everything was ok. Told him we were waiting on the pasta dish. He went to check and our server came back a few minutes later and said they did not have pasta today. What??? He proceeded to bring us the check which STILL had the pasta dish and the bar drink on it. REALLY?? The owner did return and apologize. We expressed our disappointment and he understood. With so many restaurants to choose from, customer service has to be spot on for people to return. I don t think we can give this establishment another chance.

I first want to say DO NOT and I repeat DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS PLACE!!!! With so much potential and said good reviews I had high expectations walking into this establishment that were not even sort of in any way met. It s a rare occurrence to find an establishment that underperforms in every area that a restaurant/ bar should. Walking in the atmosphere was very aesthetically pleasing, the music was a bit loud for being the afternoon on a Monday with a slow customer flow, that was the least of my worries though . The first red flag was the cocktails, I ordered a standard margarita for their 5$ margarita Mondays what I got was a glass with STRAIGHT MIXER.. I had to send my drink back just for a remake. You would ve thought by the second round they would ve gotten it right but NOPE this place s drinks are an absolute joke especially for the price. Second was the food, ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING. They charge a premium price for freezer food, being someone who has worked in the food industry I am very familiar with food quality and this place does not make anything remotely appetizing or of great quality save your money folks. We ordered fries and fried cheese for the table initially just for all four of us to be ABSOLUTELY disgusted to the point we didn t bother finishing either of the apps THE WINGS were the cherry on top they were chewy and the sauces were about as bland as bland gets.. if your going to be a bar and grill get your basic bar finger foods right. This brings me to my last issue the bussers and door guys. The waitress was absolutely sweet (the only nice quality in the establishment) that being said when having my table cleaned off I asked simply for water being I hadn t received a table touch in a good while. Upon asking the busser (not knowing he was a busser) he was quick to reply how about you ask your server he said it with such attitude and a smart assery that it killed the mood for the whole entire evening and made us eager to get the check and get out. I question the LEGITIMACY of these high reviews. At the end of the day your paying a premium for some of the worst food and cocktails in a unfriendly environment don t waste your time and money. I will NOT be back.

Had a great time at Ground Zero! I m a college student and it may even become my go to bar. Although they were having issues with fire alarm, it didn t affect service at all, and the owner and staff were very apologetic. The Mac and Cheese is a must order! Some of the best I ve had in Lubbock. Prices are decent, and the atmosphere was very fun. Definitely give it a try! Parking: There is a parking garage that is part of the building.

I have gone to ground zero a couple times since it s opening. I love the atmosphere and the energy in the place. Vanessa is my favorite bartender and she is amazing in every way. From the great drinks to the service always finished with a smile. She has great food recommendations, you have to try the loaded fries. Service in the bar is quick and there is always someone there to help even if if isn t your specific person. Love this place.

I have been coming to Ground Zero since the soft opening have loved every experience I have had here. Kennedy, Anh, and Michelle are my absolute favorites but everyone i ve spoken to has been so attentive and nice. There has been maybe 2 times where i ve had to wait a little longer but that is to be expected with a new restaurant still figuring out the scene. I appreciate the way they advertise all of their deals/ special nights on social media so I always knows going on each night.
