This place as always is the BEST pizza anywhere. Homemade dough and fresh ingredients. Jerry is just the funniest and such a great host. Always come to your table and spends a minute or two talking about his passion. ( Food and his children and pizza dough). Lol Place was clean and staff was friendly. Love this place for pizzas and calzones. So fun. Oh gosh plus did you no he has a room in the back that holds at least 25 and he does not charge extra for the room does come have your party there. Its decorated in the New York style garden party amazing.

Ive tried all different types of pizzas from so many states and cities, and in my honest opinion Papa Vs is the best pizza I have ever had. Truly each bite is so special and it sets the bar for what pizza should be. When others ask me what pizza they should order I recommend Papa V, this is the only pizza I could want now! Papa Vs has changed my outlook on pizza as a whole and Im so glad to have tried this place, highly recommend!

Order it for delivery to our hotel. This is some great pizza. Awesome crust with a good pull and the cheese to sauce ratio is perfect. The fried mushrooms were spot on too. Alot of times getting fried anything to go especially something like mushrooms they arrive soggy. Not these they were crispy and well seasoned. The spaghetti was solid as well. I would like to try the meatballs next time.

Went in last week (and the week before) as the kids were going to and coming back from their grandparents for a week. The food was as awesome as only Jerry and his son know how to do. Jerry came out and talked to my kids and they were blown away with how great he was. My son and I had the classic calzone both times and my daughter had a slice the first time and the Alfredo the second. They both said it was the best theyve ever had. It was a proud papa moment. Jerry and Jerry Jr. keep up the good work. Hopefully it wont be another 2 years before I swing by to get the best calzone on Earth again.

The food was good and the staff are all friendly. I can understand why this place has such raving reviews. The dough has a great taste. I got a calzone, however I dont think I got the greatest representation of their food that way. I was told they have gluten free crusts and they are careful to not cross-contaminate, so I plan to return and bring my wife who has celiac here to try the pizza as well. I am only rating 5 stars because they were out of Dr. Pepper and didnt have lids for the kids cup they gave my son for his drink and said they were totally out of them. Since they had other sizes, it probably would have been better to hand him a cup they actually had a lid for.

Okay so Im using my sons account because he said the Texan (BBQ) pizza is outstanding.When I describe it one word comes to mind. PERFECTION! The sweet baby Rays sauce just blows this out of the water. I dipped my fries in the sauce as well. If youve never tried it please do. Dominos and pizza hut no longer has my business. You can t eat atmosphere. I met the owner outside of the establishment and thought I d try it out. I was not disappointed I ve made two trips so far the first time I got a medium combination pizza, the second time a meat combo two slice lunch special, next time I ll just get one. Two slices is more than I should eat. I watched them make a calzone I might try that next time. The only thing I m not a fan of so far is the type of sausage they get from their supplier

Man, this place brought back memories. One Guy From Italy was an essential part of my childhood all through college. So many hours with my friends living on calzones and free refills for $5, back when $5 was all you had. Coming back 30 years later with the same guys in a new place, same amazing pizza, a custom-made calzone, and that same endless drink fountain, with Jerry himself coming to tell stories and welcome his customers. 80s music in the air, it was like a trip back to a better time. So glad this guy came back to Lubbock for us.

After seeing so many awesome reviews my family and I decided to see what the food was like at this establishment. I ordered the taco caliente pizza. We also ordered the meat combination, bruschetta, house chicken salad that the owner fixed himself, cannolis, and fries! I havent even tried the pizza yet. I could not get past the bruschetta. But by the way my boys dove into the pizza I knew it was perfection. The crust was just how we liked it and not overcooked, the sizing, and portions went way past my expectations. The atmosphere was inviting and the staff and service was welcoming and friendly. So if youre looking for a new place that blows pizza hut and dominoes out of the water, stop by papa vs. You wont be sorry.

An ABSOLUTE legend of Italian food and service! Big Jerry , his staff, and his food are a top notch example of Italys best. Pretty much everything made with dough is cooked in a large pizza oven so you get a beautiful crispy crust, and the fresh toppings that burst with flavor. The calzones are massive(!), and the ingredients are cocooned in doughy perfection. While I ve only had a few cannoli s in my life, they too are what you d expect to find at a 5 star Italian bakery. No need for the greasy American pizza chains when you have an icon like Papa V s, and you ll be supporting a local small business.

My daughter wife & I tried Papa V s for the 1st time today my wife & I really enjoyed it our daughter not too much. We shared a large pizza pie & mozzarella sticks I got a meatball sub, my wife got a house salad & my daughter got the fettuccine with chicken. 1.) Pizza, absolutely delicious!!! The crust is so good! Fresh toppings and just all around tasty and perfect. 2.) Meatball sub sandwich, it was amazing!!! So delicious!!! The bread light fluffy and crispy, meatballs are the best I ve tried then topped off with melted mozzarella! It was soooo good!!!!! 3.) house salad with Greek dressing (wife s) she said there was too much lettuce and not enough toppings, she said it was still good, she got Greek dressing to go with it which she did like.4.) Mozzarella sticks were ok, I d expect better from an Italian restaurant but they we re still ok. 5.) Fettuccine with chicken, this is what our daughter ordered and she did not like it, she said it tasted like fettuccine sauce you d buy at Walmart and the chicken was chewy. My wife and I will definitely be back!!! My daughter probably not . Overall I think it was delicious, staff was super nice and inviting! Ill definitely be back for some pizza and another meatball sub!!!

Ate here for the first time and had a wonderful experience. Employees were kind and attentive. Food came out quick and their prices are great. Calzone and tiramisu were the absolute best I have ever had. I was so focused on eating them I didn t even think to take a photo. We will definitely be back for more. Thank you Papa V s!

Discovered this locally owned pizzeria a few months ago. Now I refuse to eat any other pizza. The Luca-Roni (2x Pep) is hands down the bestest pizza in Lubbock. Tried the Tiramisu. Best tasting Tiramisu Ive had in a super long time. Support local. Support authentic Italian made pizza. You will not be disappointed.

We are from Odessa but were in town visiting family and had the opportunity to try Papa Vs. Food is AMAZING (be sure to try the Luca Roni or the Alfredo pizza). Its also SUPER AFFORDABLE (i believe my meal came out to $11 including tax).The restaurant is clean and inviting (try to make time to dine in, but they also offer carry-out). The staff is WONDERFUL! Everyone is so friendly and helpful. The owner even came out to share his story of growing up in Sicily. Cant wait to go back next time we visit Lubbock!

I heard great things about their cannolis, and they were AMAZING. I called ahead to make sure they still had some (called around 5pm) and they said it would be ready in 5/10 minutes. When I arrived to pick them up, the owner himself (I believe) was there making pizzas, and stopped to talk to me, making me feel very welcomed! If you pay with cash you get a small discount, compared to if you pay with a card theres a fee to use the machine. Ill definitely be back to try their pizzas

So good I can t believe it s in Lubbock! Husband and I tried this place after seeing reviews and it did not disappoint! The pizza was absolutely delicious the place is clean and the employees are so sweet! Had some pizza left over and reheated it the next day and it s still delicious! Definitely recommend!

Pizza ingredients are so good and so fresh! You can watch the chef throwing the dough then Papa V came out visited while we enjoyed our pizza. Two pieces each was ALOT- plenty to take home for later. This is the best Pizza I have ever had even after visiting Italy!

If I could give these guys 6 stars, I WOULD. Went in with my family, staff is super friendly, I suppose I might add Pepsi products typically dont fit this area, but the important part, the dough/pizza, which IN TRUTH IS THE ONLY THING THAT MATTERS W/PRICE, which in my subjective statement, 3 people ate and more importantly SATISFIED, for $40, total drinks included. More importantly, the pizza/dough was truly sublime, slightly singed but by NO MEANS BURNED, a perfect in between, and in past experiences Ive never found a pizza, WORTH REHEATING, BUT THIS IS THE ONE. DOUGH is the separating factor here. Also spoke with I only assume as G, the baker super knowledgeable, friendly and in truth SO AUTHENTIC, might be hard to understand some of the TRUTH BOMBS ONLY THE WISE CAN OFFER. MUCH THANKS FOR THE EXCELLENT PIZZA WHICH UNLIKE OTHERS REHEATS EXCELLENT

My wife and I were trying this place because it is relatively new, but we cannot recommend it because of the food and customer experience. The employees working at the restaurant were cursing and using foul language, which was audible where we were sitting on the edge of the south wall. Additionally, they were playing the movie Vanilla Sky which is rated R, which was not edited. It was playing a lewd sex scene with nudity as we were waiting for our food. Food on the other hand was not good either; we took it home because of the movie that was playing, we live 2 minutes away. I got the meat pizza and my wife got the calzone. Both were bland, stale, and lacking any sort of authenticity. It tasted like something I would have eaten thats considered Italian food when I was in elementary school. And it was expensive, $33 for 2 people is a lot of money. You could go to a nice sit down Italian place like Orlandos or Benitos and spend less money. Needless to say, we wont be going back. Bad experience.

Papa Vs is an awesome local pizza/calone place. I used to order a lot of Dominos and Papa Johns, but Papa Vs blows them out of the water. The food is made with love and you feel welcomed when you go inside. When I think of wanting pizza for dinner, Papa Vs always comes to mind now.
