About the Company
rating: 4.7
Our center focuses on both the history of farming and the science and technology of modern agriculture. Want to learn about cotton? Exhibits take you from early hand harvesting to putting you behind the wheel of a modern cotton stripper in the Cotton Harvest Experience. You can also meet a hologram blacksmith in our shop, or talk to a farmer in the FiberMax exhibit. Bring back memories as you walk through the antique tractors or swap stories with one of our volunteers. With a huge collection of antiques and machinery complimented by interactive kiosks with videos and games, there is something for everyone at the FiberMax Center for Discovery, formerly the Bayer Museum of Agriculture. Available for rentals.

So much to see, a really great collection of all sorts of antiques related to life on a farm. From tractors to covered wagon, home, mercantile, mechanic, blacksmithing, cotton to even washing clothes while churning butter with a lamb Took three grandsons so it was controlled mayhem. Need to go back and take individually for better one on one conversation. We really enjoyed ourselves, great interactives, simulated cow milking they enjoyed most, the hand water pump and driving the Combine simulator were hits. There is a Pullman Train Car tour but our alotted time together was up so next time It was really cool to see the Lubbock skyline while having ice cream and listening to great music. Wonderful venue for parties and gatherings I bet.

My wife picked this place to go to and I was dreading it. I have no interest in agriculture whatsoever and was regretting going. Then we went and it was great. Im an old man but I liked all the hands on displays. It kept my interest up through the entire visit. Also a couple of the volunteers there were great in telling about things and answering questions. I really enjoyed the entire visit.

We were very impressed the moment we walked through the door. What an amazing place. Everyone we met was so kind and informative. Red just made the entire visit great. Our kids (including teenage daughter) had a great time. There is a lot of interactive displays for kids and adults of all ages. We all learned a lot about and had a great time! What a great place! Will for sure go back and recommend.

This was a phenomenal learning opportunity about the miracle of American agriculture. Displays were easy to read, yet filled with high-yield facts about the progress made over the years via science and mechanization. The only downside -- agriscience contributions by Bayers major competitors, like Monsanto and Dow/Dupont were unmentioned. Otherwise, it was an exceptional experience, and the overall rating would have been five stars rather than four.

One potential issue for kid visitors- many things that should be behind glass are not, so you must look out if your little one tends to grab things.
