Taqueria Autlan is a restaurant with authentic Mexican food, it is spacious, cozy with enough space between the tables, the roast beef cake was delicious as were the chicken flautas, the fries that accompanied the cake get the most recognition, crunchy , with very good flavor, soft and low in salt, the attention we received was friendly and enthusiastic, they served us like a king, the menu offered by this place is abundant and very varied, you need to go many times to be able to taste their delicious dishes The hygiene and atmosphere are good, I recommend this restaurant 100%, we will return!

We went for lunch on a Sunday, just before noon; they sat us immediately, and the service was fast! Most of us ordered the birria tacos, and they were delicious. I tried all of the salsas on the salsa bar, and I enjoyed them all. The avocado and tomatillo salsas were mild, but one salsa verde was medium, and a couple of the salsas rojas had good heat. The mariachi band was talented and fun!

Amazing spot to grab a bite. There are some pricier things on the menu but the vast majority is very affordable and tasty! Amazing staff. Very small wait time for food. Great atmosphere with occasional live bands and karaoke. TVs with sports. Pretty large capacity for the size. Very little if any wait time to be seated.

This place, I think, might be the best mexican food offered in Lubbock that I have tried to date. I have been here a handful of times and have only been disappointed 1 time, and it was their Menudo that just wasnt hood. But everything else from the tacos, enchiladas to the birria, have all been good. Its hard to find good Mexican food. But this place has some good offerings. I would recommend trying them out! My favorite is the taco plate. Buche, tripas, and lengua! Muy delicioso!

We went in with 45 min til close. We thought they closed the kitchen so we walked away but a server came out and called us in. She let us know they were still open and happy to serve us. Parking: No handicap parking spaces that we could find. Wheelchair accessibility: Was easy to get in and out of restaurant with plenty of space to move around inside, but like I said couldnt locate handicap parking spaces.

Ok I love Mexican food I m Mexican I should but nope I didn t like the food I had a Buche Torta? No didn t like it it was slimy it didn t taste right and tortas should not have beans to me my personal opinion I prefer no beans I have tasted amazing tortas and they didn t have beans plus the beans were like an orange color sorta tasted like chorizo beans My husband got the birria tacos and the meat wasn t even shredded it was literally a chunk of meat put in the tacos But I do give it to them the meat was tender . I think the atmosphere was really good. The service was really good. They had a mariachi band and it was amazing. They played so good. It was also Friday, so there was a lot of people I think it s overrated because it s not that great. I ve tasted a whole lot better. Maybe next time I can try it when it s not so busy maybe plus my tab was $169.00 just for 5 of us felt like I was at a fancy restaurant lol o well I understand that the prices I guess. I guess they aren t kid friendly either because I have 3 grandkids and 2 of them needed booster chairs and they weren t even offered

Our visit on 3/10/24 was a good experience. My 9 year old sons stomach was hurting and the young man brought him a drink to sip on to help the pain & nausea and with no charge. Autlan was really good about a year ago but the last two times that I ve ordered from here they ve messed up twice on my order. The first time, they had shorted me on my Birria tacos and I talked to the manager and got it squared away with not issues or refunds needed at all because it was no biggie! Now the second time I came back is different. It s 2:30pm on a Thursday afternoon and I had called in 7 Birria tacos and two drinks for my mom, brother, and I. On top of the women on the other end of the phone laughing, the food was about $32 and I still decided to leave a $10 tip. My tacos had thick, course, black hair in the meat and cheese. I called and asked to speak to a manager and the same girl who took my order spoke to me and had apologized and said they can remake the food or refund me, and I explained that I just wanted the refund. She then apologized and said that I ONLY needed to bring the receipt. When I got there and man had helped me and then said that his manager said that they needed the plate as well. Never did the manger come and speak to me and on top of this I never leave reviews but it s frustrating, very unprofessional, annoying, and rude that I had to drive across town, they tell me one thing, and then when I get there tell me another thing. This restaurant can t seem to get their orders and or customer service correct anymore. Just want to talk to the man who helped and was respectful to us the first time

I rarely give a five-star, Every Restaurant has room for improvement, and every restaurant has a slow or bad day. Today, February 2nd, my experience was one of the most attentive ones Ive had. The food, along with the service and cleanliness of the restaurant, was top-notch. Mariachi Night was absolutely amazing. Reading through some of the negative comments made me realize that some of the people doing reviews on here are only here for simply posting bad reviews. Every restaurant prepares food differently, different plates spices flavors, and of course food preparation. Looking at some of the pictures that are posted with the negative comments, I understand what they ordered they received. It is not that it was not prepared right, It was prepared for the customers liking and then generated into a bad review. Come try Taqueria Autlan for yourself, and you will understand it has some of the best authentic Mexican Food North of the Border. If youre bored at home and do not want to cook. Come to Taqueria Autlan on Thursday night, and let them do the cooking for you. While youre out and enjoying your dinner, step up onto the stage for some fun with your favorite karaoke songs.

Juan was a fabulous waiter and expert of the menu. My first time here, on the recommendation of a Houstonian. I recently dined here and was blown away by the authentic flavors and vibrant atmosphere. From the sizzling fajitas to the Cali burrito. Every dish was a culinary masterpiece. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking to indulge in true Mexican cuisine! Reasonably priced.

The mariachi band here is so damn loud its insane. God help you if your table is near the speakers, you cant hear yourself think. Our waitress had difficulty taking our order. Its a shame because the food is genuinely good. But trying to eat dinner in front of a full band blaring, in a tiny building like this, dont bother bringing a date here. You wont hear a word they say, and you may not hear ever again. Would urge the ownership or managers (or whoever) to address this in some way.

Autlan is yummy! First time I came I got the super burrito with chicken, it was AMAZING. Their beans and rice are bomb, that makes the burrito better than average. 2nd time I came I got crispy beef tacos. And Im sorry to say they were horrible. Meat was dry and had a really funny seasoning on them. My husband thought it tasted like a type of steak seasoning I thought it tasted like rosemary. It was pretty much inedible. If they fix the meat problem everything else about the tacos were good. Fresh shells and veggies. They also have a yummy salsa bar that comes with the meal. The green jalapeno sauce is sooo good. Thursday nights are a karaoke night for the college students. If you like loud music and some occasionally ridiculous karaoke singing and having fun then Thursdays at Autlan is your place. Friday nights mariachi music has turned from something pleasant and enjoyable to a complete nuisance. Took out of town family here for a local experience, and was extremely frustrated. The music was running over 100dB during dinner which as a sound engineer for over the last 20 years, is at concert levels. It was so loud, the waitress couldnt take our orders without pointing out the item we wanted. We couldnt carry on conversations. We brought a baby not knowing the volume level. We asked to be moved, but couldnt because of the party size.

Was craving birria tacos and thought Id give it a go here rather than my usual. The corn tortilla was as if they just dipped it in the consume and put the meat. Cheese was not melted and the tortilla was not hot or crispy. They were basically soggy tacos. Would not recommend!

The food was pretty decent but the service I got at the drive thru was amazing; friendly, helpful and the kid went above and beyond with our order. I know locally owned can make it a bit pricey but if the portions were a tad bigger I could live with the pricing

I love this place but only at nights. I ate here Sunday morning and my boyfriend started getting sick at round 5 later in the day and then me at 8. It s now Friday and I m still sick. Idk what they do with their food at night(hopefully they throw it away) but the looks of it, we ate food from the night before..(papas and beans). I ll never eat breakfast there again. I knew it tasted a little funny

I do not recommend this business! Came here from Dallas with my son s family. They have been here 100 s of times. The two kids come for the mariachi band on Friday. My 5 year old grandson has a severe food allergy and we have to bring special food for him. The owner denied us service because we brought in special food because of grandson s severe food allergies. We even told her we would buy a child s plate to accommodate them. She didn t care. So we left with a 5 year old crying because he could not stay and hear the band.

Went there for dinner like my family has many many times on Fridays. This time was different, due to our childs SEVERE food allergies we have to bring food that is has no chance of cross contamination. We have been doing this for years. Only tonight when we walked in we re told we can t bring outside food in regardless of allergies because they have kids meals that we can buy instead and when we asked the manager if they could guarantee zero cross contamination they of course could not guarantee their food was safe from his allergies. Our family has been going here for a long time and unfortunately will not go back after this. They would rather lose a loyal patron than allowing a five year old the chance at a safe dinner out with family. We even offered to just buy the kids meal to show we re not trying to cheap out, but they refused. Very disappointing and unfortunate.

Ordered 6 carn asada tacos and carn asada super burrito. It s was the nastiest food ever had. Carn asada looked and tasted like roast meat. The corn tortillas was soggy and fell completely apart. I also only got 5 tacos. The burrito had mushy rice and meat was mushy. It had a sour taste. Gave my dog some of the meat but he did not eat it. I paid $26.19 just for this. When I placed the order the food came out in 5 minutes. This was not freshly made. I will never go back!!!

Everytime I come to Lubbock to visit family I always have to get Menudo because the town I live in I cant find any good menudo (Im very very picky about my menudo) Anyways, decided to give this place a try today before getting on the road back home. I AM IMPRESSED!!!! LOVED IT!! I asked for spicy, and got a side of it, total game changer but even without the spicy it was still absolutely delicious. My husband and I actually joked about next time we visit we will bring a cooler so we can order a ton of it to take home and freeze. Lol. Way to go Taqueria Autlan, next time we are in town we will be paying another visit. Also the guy at the window was super nice and funny. Service was great!!
