Five of us went to Stella s on Thursday, September 12, 2024 and we were blown away by the improvement of the restaurant since our last visit several months ago. The new chef, Timothy, had just introduced a new menu. It had all the old favorites, but the new offerings were intriguing enough that we each tried something new. We were thrilled with our meals! The presentation was superb and every meal was perfectly seasoned and delicious. We had Chicken Piccata, Pistachio Angel Hair Pasta, Flounder, and the Caprese salad. The atmosphere was relaxed and classy, the service (Billy) was stellar, and it was clear that Corey, the manager, has a leadership style that instills excellence all around. Fun fun fun!!! Stella s has risen to the top of our list of Lubbock restaurants after this recent visit. We ll be back!

Ive had many memorable meals in Lubbock, and I rate the Chefs Dinner Features at Stellas at the top of that list. My friend and I dined for dinner, starting with the Eggplant Rollatini appetizer, very lite and delicous. I wish this appetizer was a standard menu item. For our entrees, I chose Lobster Fra Diavolo. The perfect amount of garlic and spice with large pieces of lobster. My friend ordered the Vodka Grandma Pizza - a wonderfully thin crust with a blend of spices, pesto, cheese and hand-torn basil. The portions for both entrees were large. We closed out this delectable meal with Southern Cornbread Strawberry Shortcake. Dont let the word cornbread confuse you for dessert. With in-house made whipped cream and fresh strawberries, it was the perfect end to a wonderful meal. Ana our server was extremely knowledgable of wine pairings, and menu items. She was training Aber, who is fortunate to learn from watching Ana. I will ask for Ana when I return to Stellas. Unfortunately, I was too busy enjoying each course to take pictures, but I can assure you each dish was plated to perfection. My compliments to the Chef, Ana and Aber. How fortunate we are to have you in Lubbock.

I had the pleasure of dining here at Stella s, and I must say, the food is nothing short of phenomenal! While they excel in authentic Italian cuisine, I was pleasantly surprised to find an Asian dish on the menu. To my amazement, it was executed flawlessly. Turns out, the chef hails from New York and knows how to knock an Asian plate out of the park. Whether you re craving Italian classics or looking for something a bit different, Stella s delivers in every way. Plus the service is top notch! Highly recommended!

The food is great. Service is much less than one would expect for a nicer restaurant. Tables in main dining room sit on top of each other. You are basically sitting in the next table s lap. Still a go to, but these are realities for us on most visits. Open bar seating allows for much more privacy.

I was craving some fettuccine Alfredo and Stella s really delivered. The host, Alexis, who gave me my order was really excellent. She was very friendly and made the whole experience a pleasure. The food was piping hot and packed really well. I even had some left over for lunch, and it was just as good the next day. Next time I m craving some Alfredo, I ll be back and trying out their beautiful dining room!

Came here for a friend dinner, food was great, however the service was questionable. I am a server, and could not believe how we were spoken to, given the setting and the expectation in general from a server. The server was training a new employee. The more experienced server first mixed up one of our drinks and then did take it off the check when we sent it back. However, we split checks at the end of our meal and multiple checks were wrong and had things added on that hadn t even been ordered. This in itself was not a problem. We also were told that one of the dishes came with a salad and then were charged for it, where she then went back on her words and said that she had not said that. When multiple people at our table told her that we had also heard that the salad came with it, she got an attitude and corrected us, saying that she had been talking about a different order, but she would try and fix it She then proceeded to walk back to the computer and started gossiping about us well within earshot. We finally got the right checks back after 2 tries going back to the computer. Would not recommend purely for the service.

My husband and I went for our anniversary. The burger buns were so burnt, they crumbled. My husband could only eat the meat, fixings and fries. My Alfredo pasta was yummy, but when it says grilled shrimp and it comes out looking as if its was cooked in a microwave. For $2 a shrimp, it was a little disappointing.

Had a really nice dinner last night. The food was fantastic and even better than I remember (I moved away back in 2010). My husband had the Angry Crab dish which was out of this world good. My parents ordered the Santa Fe pizza and I ordered the Margarita Pizza which both were fabulous. Our waitress was very new which was fine however it seemed she needed some more training and was not ready to be on her own as she had absolutely no menu knowledge and had some difficulty.

For the amount this meal costs, the service was extremely disappointing. We saw our waiter approximately five times. Our food was cold. No one ever got their drinks refilled. But heres the kicker!!! On our reservation we explicitly mentioned a severe food allergy for our table. We know they saw it because they mentioned it... But continuously brought out food with nuts in it and we had to double check literally everything? It was a pretty disappointing experience for what is supposed to be a fine dining experience.

When I first entered Stella s, I was greeted not only by the warmth of the sun, but by the warmth of my bartender s shiny white smile. At first, I tried to hustle out some free drinks but nonono, my bar tender, who I later found out was named Arlette, wouldn t allow it. For once, I payed for my drinks. This spicy latina recommended me a spicy margarita to drink, quite appropriate given the mood. She then recommended me the lobster ravioli (pictures attached below). You know what they say: ravioli ravioli give me the formioli (a spongebob reference only Arlette would understand). Make sure you sit at the bar and ask for Arlette! The beer was ok but service slower than the number of people drinking and dining im the area. Moving to Lubbock so visiting several places looking for good pizza. Stellar service. Our waitress consistently checked in on us to make sure we were taken care of. The food was phenomenal and packed with flavor. For the appetizer, we had the three Rockefeller oysters. They were yummy but could have been cooked longer, which is just a personal preference. For my entree, I had the Jalapeño Bacon and Crab Orecchiette that was a perfect balance of spice with a kick but Italian flavor. I did not finish it all in one sitting, but it still tasted good the next day. The drinks were also good. My favorite thing they had on the drink menu was the February drinks for Valentine s Day. I had the Box of Chocolates flight, where I could sample them all (although they were full portions ). The raspberry truffle was my favorite out of the trio Vegetarian options: There are a quite few vegetarian options that is not just salad that I thought was impressive and considerate. Dietary restrictions: The menu has gluten friendly and vegan/vegetarian friendly options that is indicated on the menu. For some pasta options, you can select if you want meat added to the dish. Parking: Stella s is in a mini shopping center, so there is plenty of space to park. The parking lot is also fairly new. Wheelchair accessibility: There were low tables to dine at and no stairs. I cannot recall if there was a ramp.

I made a reservation to celebrate my daughters 21st birthday on Saturday, February 17. I traveled from out of town for the occasion, and Stellas was recommended by a local. Where do I begin, I ordered a red wine and was told they were out. When I asked for the soup of the day the server said she could not recall what it was but either way it looked like they were running out. I ordered the lasagna with the house salad. The house salad was so pathetic looking: all yellow lettuce, no greens, and the croutons were stale. I suspect you were probably running out of lettuce. I wish I had taken a picture of the salad so you can see how pathetic it was. It was a group of seven and it took them over an hour to get our food and the lasagna while not horrible definitely not the best I have ever had, and not worth the wait. My husband asked for more bread after we got our food....and were told, yet again that they were out. It was definitely not a memorable birthday dinner. Will not recommend or eat here again. On the plus side, the reservation was for 7:30, and we arrived ten minutes late, they still sat us, and I was grateful for that. Although, in retrospect maybe it would have been better if they canceled the reservation and spared me and my family the disappointment.

Stopped in yesterday for lunch kill some time after some horrible news from a dr. Appt and waiting for another appt. They sat us near the fireplace away from everyone gave us time to talk and process things. Our waiter and manager were very attentive and gave great suggestions and our glasses were never empty. We had the broccoli cheddar soup it was delicious and our two entrees from the lunch menu are something he suggested and it was so good big portion so I was able to have dinner too. I appreciate the experience because of what we were going through at that moment everyone was so friendly and welcoming and a quiet place to process everything. We had excellent service and the food was amazing. My wife had the salmon off the special. My son and myself had the Jalapeño Bacon and Crab Orecchiette and my daught had the Lobster Ravioli. All absolutely delicious.

Made a dinner reservation for a family of 6 and when we showed up they could not find it and made us wait so they could get someone else to find it and they still couldn t help. All the waitresses were up front talking and giggling. Finally got seated 30 mins later. The waitresses had horrible attitudes and only came to check on us once. Food came out cold. Save your money there s BETTER places out there!

Wow! This place is amazing. The food is delicious. Best Italian food in Lubbock paws down. Nice wine and signature cocktail list. Everything is resonably priced. Very nice ambience. Live music in the lounge/bar. Attentive, courtesy and knowledgeable staff. My new fave place. You should def check it out and support local. Cheers!

This place is truly incredible and the atmosphere is amazing! The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately, the food didnt quite measure up to the ambience. My pizza was burnt, my wifes pasta was bland, and the creme brulee to finish off our dinner had a burnt caramel topping that made it very bitter. Despite this, I would still recommend this place for the atmosphere. We will venture there again..

We went in for dinner on Christmas Eve and the staff were great. One employee was dressed as an elf and she let me call my grandkids to say hi, she was a great sport about it. We have been there 2 times now in the last month and both times its been great. Food is hot and good. Staff is knowledgeable of the dishes. They are very accommodating with my husbands allergies and all. I will definitely be back. Dietary restrictions: Worked well with allergies.

We were there for a Sunday brunch. It wasnt a good experience. Ill try to be succinct, because Im having issues with typing out this review on my cell phone. The service was bad. Several minutes after we had already placed our orders, the waiter returned to tell us that one of our meals was unavailable because they ran out. When asked, he did not know which part of the meal was unavailable. Was it the meat, or a side? He didnt know. He also neglected to bring a menu for us to look at, so we could replace the out of stock item. That was his first mistake. (he was very young, so perhaps hes just learning) When our food arrived, the salmon, steak and chicken... No one liked their food except for me. The steak was tender, but it was lacking flavor. We then had to wait a substantial amount of time for my granddaughters fried chicken strips and fries to come out. And she was probably the hungriest of all of us and waited the longest. That was strike two. He didnt even notice that he had forgotten to bring it. We had to tell him. Everyone agreed that the chicken strips and fries were the best meal at the table. They also liked the deep fried stuffing. I hate to say it, because Im pretty loyal..... But we probably wont be coming back. We didnt take any food photos this time. The presentation was good though.

Went here for a birthday last week and had a great time. We had calamari, the bruschetta, and cheese sticks. My favorite was the bruschetta, but the other apps were really good as well. For my entree I got the Sunday Gravy, it was ok. Not something I would order again, it was pretty underwhelming, in my opinion. The atmosphere and service were great. I definitely recommend.

The Atmosphere is what sets the tone but the Prices are from California and yet the flavors dont match what I paid for. $17 Calamari and its not even squid.. the food was good but nothing to write home about. The appetizer bread was the best thing we had, but that was cause it was really good to be fair. Probably wont go back unless I hear the Pizza is worth it

AMAZING! Our waiter was the sweetest who had good recommendations to fit our taste. We started off with the fried ravioli in habanero wine sauce YALL.. put it on the menu!!!! This is only available until the 25th and I m heartbroken. We came yesterday to have our anniversary dinner, and the shrimp scampi was all right, but very dry. The Alfredo was too perfection. It was not heavy, or full of oil. It was the right amount of sauce, and the noodles were so fresh. But the fried ravioli? .. we came back today just for it and will be back again tomorrow . I was lucky enough to talk with one of the chefs that made it tonight when I came to pick up my order and it was exactly the right amount of spice. It is not too spicy But you do get a little kick. The pasta is fried correctly and the crunch is there. Make sure to dip it in their ranch too . Stella s.. please put this on the menu . This dish is definitely one of your best.

STELLAS offers 1/2 price on select Texas wines on Thursdays. We asked our waiter if this included bottles or glasses of wine. He went into the kitchen to get clarification.. When we got our bill we learned that bottles were full price, not part of the Thursdays special. Also, we were charged an extra bar tax. Also, our bottles cork was completely dry. The bottle should have been taken back. The scallop special was 4 small scallops ,@ 2 sliced Asparagus spears and a few small tomatoes atop a pile of bland pasta. The evening should have been a pleasant meal instead it was an all-around disappointment. We will not go back.

We met a friend from out of town for brunch. I love the restaurant itself. The atmosphere is something you would expect in Dallas or Houston. The server was nice but at the prices charged by Stellas you wouldnt think you would have to remind the server to bus your table multiple times throughout the meal. I had the breakfast sandwich with the beef soup. The soup was good but my wife had the chicken soup and although Im not a chicken fan, I think I would have preferred the chicken soup. Both were very good though. The biggest problem was the sandwich. I am very particular about eggs being very well done. I explained that to the server and she understood. When the eggs came out they were still runny, which did not surprise me and really didnt result in the rating because I have come to realize I am weird about this. I kind of expect it. What did bother me and did result in the rating was when the manager brought my sandwich out, I thought they made the sandwich with a different kind of bread, it was a pretty dark shade of brown. I figured out that the kitchen just cooked the entire sandwich more instead of starting over. This resulted in everything but the eggs being overdone. The eggs were still not well done as requested but I was not about to send it back again so I ate them.

Service was horrible the amount time we waiting for food and drinks was inexcusable (3hrs). The servers were rude and confused and clearly didn t want to serve our table. We were one of 3 tables and couldn t get the attention for refills or drinks. Once the food arrived, a lot of it was wrong, undercooked and overcooked. Lubbock do not waist your time and money at Stella s.
