Service is seat yourself. Coffee was very lightly brewed today, not what I was expecting. All meals were warm upon service not hot. My sausage patties were over cooked. Sourdough bread had little flavor, as did the meals in general. Also our check didnt reflect the Saturday 2.2.2 special. Though its only a 50c difference, it wasnt reflected on the bill. The restaurant was very busy, so maybe our service was unusual today.

Had the George Burger which is a double meat cheeseburger with all the fixings, fries, and a Coke. Order taker/cashier was fabulous and even offered me a refill while I waited at the drive thru for my order. All of the food was very good and pretty typical of a non-chain hamburger place except the beef patties were thick and juicy and the fries were almost boardwalk size. Excellent visit!

For almost 10 years this has been my go to place. I ve taken my family, my crew, and kids and grandkids. I say all that to say this. The food and people there are great. Whoever is responsible for opening up the place is lacking and has been for over a year now. 6:30 means 6:30. Not 6:40 or sometimes even later. 7 of us waited this morning until 6:47 and we left and went to Breakfast House. I spent $113 for the meal and left a $30 tip. Some of us like breakfast before work and when you say you open at 6:30 then open the doors. We would like to eat and go to work.

This is my first time in this little gem. The staff were great - very friendly. Coffee was hot, fresh and my cup never got empty. The food came out in a reasonable time and it was fresh and hot. The flavors were excellent especially the hot sauce. FYI they also know how to make gravy. Some places call it gravy but I m pretty sure they need to take lessons from George s. Another great thing is that the place was actually very clean. The salt and pepper shakers actually worked and you didn t have to shake down the old salt just to get any out. Love, love, love the sugar shaker. It s so much better than ripping open packets of whole knows what. We definitely plan on making this part of our dining plan. Thank you and Kudos to all the staff here. Parking: Plenty of spots close to the door. Wheelchair accessibility: is a ramp just one door down, the door doesn t have a step to go up. There are plenty of tables to move around to provide space for wheelchair.

Georges Cafe -4th str is a medium-sized restaurant but with enough space, their breakfasts are freshly made and to your order, the omelet lover was very delicious, like the fried eggs arrived as we ordered them, everything was really delicious, the attention that We received it was very good and continuous, the girl who attended us was very friendly, the hygiene is also good, there is an atmosphere of harmony in this place from the moment you arrive until the moment you leave, we liked it very much, we will return!!!

I walked in and there was maybe two tables with two people each that were already sat and had their order. Two girls and a man were up at the counter and they told us to sit wherever we like when they saw us walk in. So we did and me and my BF were talking 5 minutes go by and no one had to come to the table 10 minutes goes by still no waitress had come to the table. Right before the 15 minute mark I said lets go. I know the food here is delicious I would rather support a local business than a chain and I wanted a good breakfast and to at least be attended to in general. Ive waited tables I know it gets busy I know it can be hard at times. The restaurant wasnt busy at all and there is no excuse as to why that happened. Very disappointed and not sure if Ill go back.

Took the family here for breakfast around 8:30 on 1/6. When we walked in, they told us to sit wherever we like. Our server was kind and attentive. My coffee was good and smooth, not bitter at all. I ordered the meat lovers omelette. It was okay. The hash browns were cooked appropriately, and they were good with the salsa that came with the meal. The toast came buttered, and I added some of the jelly at the table. Overall, we enjoyed an okay meal and had a good time.

This location has become a very hit or miss kind of restaurant. Sometimes we go for lunch if close by but its becoming less appealing because we Sometimes just get bland food that is not up to the scale of what it once was. My only complaints are: they do NOT have BBQ sauce for chicken strips, and MOST IMPORTANTLY not everyone likes breakfast food so if you go before 11 AM, you wont have any choices but a $2 side of ham or bacon. I recommend this place after 11 AM only, and for a full menu (burger for breakfast) anytime with same great prices, go to Red Zone!!

I am rateing Georgias cafe solely on the double cheeseburger. Im trying to find the best cheeseburger in Lubbock. So far, I would have to say that Georges cafe has my highest rating at 9.5. This was the 1st cheeseburger that Ive tried in town (that is not a big national chain) that had juice to it it wasnt dry. Now I like all the fixings on my cheeseburger, and they were technically there, though I like more lettuce and thicker slice of tomato. The french fries were good as well. So, of all the Non national chain Burger joints in town so far, Ive only been to 5. This is the best.

The food is always good. The issue is that the owner is so cheap that he will not turn on the heat on cold days. I should not have to keep my winter coat on inside while Im eating because the owner wants to save a few bucks on his electric bill. The thermostat said it was 60 degrees in the restaurant. It is unfair that the staff should have to work like this and not even be allowed to wear a sweater (I asked). The poor waitress was freezing. Quit being cheap!

I was here for breakfast two days in a row. The first alone, the second, this morning with my son. We think these guys make some of the best breakfast in Lubbock. Service is a bit spotty, the waitresses tell you their name and to let them know if you need something but try getting their attention. As of today their business practices have left me unwilling to return. I ordered breakfast and asked to sub bacon for a slice of ham. This they did without hesitation, but when the bill came they charged for extra bacon. Ok..I get it, so there s no substitutions so I ask them to go ahead and serve the ham. They refuse. The waitress went to the back of house and talked to someone and came back apologizing and saying there s nothing she could do. I paid, tipped (admittedly closer to 9% because trying to get my coffee warmed up was a nightmare that I accomplished only once during the visit) and left for the last time. Screwing me out of $0.79 was more important to them than my family and I eating breakfast over there every weekend plus. I thought a while before posting this review because I know the owner is likely to come back with a sob story about rising food costs and difficulties hiring and keeping staff and all those things are true and I feel for restaurant owners and all business owners. It s rough times, I get it, and you can charge what you must. I will forgive less than great service. I d give you more than $0.79 if you asked me for it on the street, but I won t support anyone conducting business this way.

Georges is okay if youre simply looking for a home-cooked meal away from home. The menu is small which has its pros and cons... A pro being that more focus can be put on the individual dishes and a con being that theres not a lot of variety if youre in the company of people with very diverse tastes in cuisine. Its similar to a few other small cafes around town as far as the menu, atmosphere, and clientele. In my opinion Georges is average, but an opinion, well, everyone has one based on experiences. So go ahead and give it a shot and see what you think of it. Bonus: the waitress was really great! Very friendly and had a great sense of humor...

I ve eaten at this place a couple of times and I ve never had anything good or bad to say about it. The atmosphere is nice kind of old-school. This time I didn t have such a good experience in the fact that my food was fairly cold and the portion was not very large. I have to be at work soon so I did eat it quickly. When the somewhat nice server asked me how everything was I informed her of my food being cold she brought me a side of bacon that was OK and assured me that she was going to give me a discount because of my food being cold. I ll look at the receipt while I m paying and she has given me a veteran/student discount which I am neither of only $.80.
