Atmosphere is like a homey, slightly elevated bar. It felt very intimate although there was plenty of seating. We had Hobby aka Hobbs as our server and he was GREAT! He was helpful, a great listener, and personable. I had the Alfredo which was delicious! Would recommend.

Best meal my husband & I have had in a very long time. From the homemade sourdough, toasted bread with rosemary butter to the incredible Chicken Achiote, the punta nortenas, and chocolate cake with coffee. Everything was wonderful. Clean, tasty food with great flavor! Loved the cilantro sauce that accompanied my chicken breasts. So yummy. The coffee comes from a local coffee house. So good! Vanessa was delightful; very knowledgeable of the food preparations, friendly and efficient. We took our time and enjoyed every bite. We will return!

Eclectic truly describes this eating establishment! A proper place for luncheon or an intimate dinner for two. I tried their burger with added avocado and the flavor was superb! Very friendly staff wait and always eager to help. A full bar upstairs can handle added patrons and is a treat in this historic grand building.

This is a favorite place, service is always great and I think it s keeping the prices and portions fair. I was disappointed to see pizza on the menu. My dinner companion said the tomatoe soup was watery. I was disappointed by the rice and veg that came with my salmon, mediocre. Salmon was perfect.

Though I still miss its old, tilted location, Liberty Bar is in a striking building in one of San Antonios best neighborhoods. I enjoyed there the best cocktail I had in San Antonio, the Bravo. Their bread is also excellent, and a great compliment to a drink at the upstairs bar. Food

I ordered a pizza to go. After I paid for it, a couple of minutes later they brought it out to me and I thought, that s not a very big pizza for $20 . But then when I started eating it everything changed totally delicious. Very fresh ingredients and totally flavorful! This is my new little splurge pizza.

Beautiful and eclectic, great views, great vibe, and the prices are very reasonable for the quality of food you receive. The bread, pizza dough, and fettuccine are made in-house. The drinks are well made, and the decor is fun and shares a history of the place. I would say a 4.6 experience. The only real negative was that the music is way too loud by the speakers, so it feels that you have to raise your voice when speaking, and its hard to hear anything. It made everyone raise their voices, which just increased the noise levels. Besides that, great experience. Will be going again.

Topped off with chocolate cake with home made ice cream. And the friendly staff? Top-notch! Whether you re there for lunch or dinner, Liberty Bar is a must-visit.

The only complaint I have is that it was a bit on the loud side. Otherwise this place is a nice option for a rustic downtown location. The fact it used to be a convent is kind of ironic, but definitely adds to the charm of the atmosphere and the space itself. We didnt try any of the food because we had already eaten, but the drinks were good and our server was very nice and attentive without being pushy or hovering. A nice change.

The place was amazing they have very good waiters the only bad thing is their manager Fiona who had the waiter tell us that oh we re not allowed inside and moved us outside, by the time we moved outside and setup a table they then asked if it was a service dog. At that point I told them yes and I have all the documentation. I asked to speak with the manager who came down about 5 minutes later leading the conversation in an aggressive manner asking us why we didn t disclose this first. I told them I was told dogs weren t allowed at all. Never in my life have I met such a terrible manager of such a fine establishment such as this. We left because the who would want to stay after being treated so poorly.

Incredible! Starting with the building itself, gorgeous - rustic, historical, beautifully decorated. We had the Bread Made Here, WORTH IT! Even if you re watching your carbs. Then shared the soup of the day (Sunday), a tomato basil and onion soup. It was light and fresh, a great starter, before diving into the Queso de Cabra - recommended by our waiter as a top item to order. It was salty, sweet and a little spicy! Also served with more sourdough, which we didn t complain about. We then shared a Chile Rellano, which was a great light dish as well, with a combo of so many different nice flavors. The service was excellent, the wait was perfect, and the lighting was great (for the content creators out there)! Need to go back to try so many things on the menu we didn t get but highly recommend.

The food was not worth the travel nor the wait. I had the French toast and literally it was one slice of thick hard bread, deff not worth it. The rosemary potatoes tasted like they were from a bag, nothing that seemed anything to write home about. The young lady with green hair was not in the best moods and delivered our drinks with ill manner and ended up making the entire mood shift and had us counting down till we were able to get our food and leave. We decided to sit outside and that was the worst idea, the day was amazing but service outside was terrible. We got forgotten about multiple times, and had to remind our server we were still needing things. His response was that inside had a large party so we put reserve signs out to make everyone not want to sit outside. Over all if your thinking of having a great time in Southtown look elsewhere. If you have the option please travel to the pearl or Broadway to check out the pig pen.

Liberty Bar was awesome. My friends and I stopped in here to burn some time, and we had a blast. The food was delicious. I ordered the burger medium cooked with all the toppings to include an egg. The sourdough bun whichbisbmade in house was great as well. The bread could have been thinner, but that is just my take on it. The fries were phenomenal. They were crispy and soft on the inside, and the seasoning was perfect. I definitely recommend the fries as a side. The service was great. Our bartender was very knowledgeable on the menu and also had the food before, so he was able to provide excellent insight into the taste of the food. The ambiance was very chill. There are random pics of art everywhere and mirrors along the wall. I really enjoyed the selection of music played. The song selection really complimented the vibe of the place. If you want to relax and chill with your friends and have some good food and drinks, I would definitely visit here.

But what happened instead the first two people got meal and by the time last two came out more than half of us were done. Not fun eating In front of people waiting on there food. super lame experience. Alcohol was ordered but not delivered timely to the point we wanted more but he never came back to get second order.

I took my boyfriend here to celebrate his birthday. The building is awesome, the rest was not... 1. I input notes when reserving, requesting a nice seat to celebrate this special day. I never heard from them, so called the day before to ensure the notes were received (theyd not been). The nice lady on the phone assured me that she made notes to seat us at a nice, quiet table next to the window. --- That didnt happen, however. We arrived, and they seated us in the loud bar upstairs furthest from the window next to the busy kitchen. 2. The waitress might well have not been there at all. There was zero engagement, zero interest, I dont even think she said hi... it was rather insulting service. 3. The food was bland - we got the pasta, which was essentially buttered noodles. And the spicy pizza which had 4 thin slices of serrano on it. I gave this two stars because the building is beautiful, and the downstairs seating is really nice and unique. But Im really disappointment in the service, and lack of communication on reservations.

Ive been to Liberty Bar for Brunch many times and have always leaned more on the breakfast side of things when ordering. However this time I decided to switch it up and go for a lunch item - I was not disappointed! We went on a Saturday around 11:30am, which I was surprised to see it wasnt packed. Usually theres a wait of about 45 minutes to an hour and I dont think they take reservations, so if youre planning on heading here for the weekend Brunch, I suggest going at an odd time or plan ahead to wait. I ordered the Portobello Sandwich, it was so delicious with the gruyere cheese on sourdough bread, and the sauerkraut added so much flavor I was blown away by! Not to mention they have the best fries! No matter what you order here hands down will be good, I highly recommend!

I go to this spot weekly and love it. Believe it or not, the chicken salad sandwich in insanely good. The burger is well worth it. In general, they hit most of their meals out of the park and the servers are excellent. However, my only gripe is the lamb kofta. I just had it this week. It s disappointingly over priced for the portion size, and their tabouli was way too heavy on the mushy parsley and not enough bulgar. For a high price point you have to hit the mark. I can absolutely forgive though; this is a great place to dine and I wouldn t want to go anywhere else.

We had a group of 8. We walked up the stairs to be seated. A tall thin guy with curly black hair saw us and said Oh my God! And called someones name saying look at this motioning his head to the stairs as we were climbing them. The hostess, young girl w/glasses, looked at me and I said for 8 please. I asked what time they closed and she said 10. I said we are actually going to just have drinks as it was 15 til 9. She said I dont think theres room for you but you can order and go outside on the patio. There were reserved signs at a few tables. We stood at one end of the bar and were just in the way. A few staff members tried to walk by, but rather than say excuse me, they just stood there frowning at us. We were given no direction from anyone else about where to stand or get a menu. We grabbed one from the dirty bar top and tried to look at it while dodging mute servers with food. Not one single employee smiled or tried to help us. We were made to feel like we were literally there 5 minutes to closing. There were many tables that still sat empty with reserved signs on them, so they couldnt have been that much in a hurry to close. We ended up just leaving. This was the first time here for some of us, and it wasnt a great 1st impression at all.

Cool building, but we went there an hour and a half before closing on a Sunday. Food was bland and pricey, and service for our 10-top was fast enough, but it is a little warm in the downstairs dining area, so we were all very thirsty, and servers werent around for refills. Apps came out quickly and were just ok. Entrées were timely, but nothing at our table was something I would order again. Fettuccine was over garlicky. Overall, it was a little disappointing, Not a great value for the price. Parking: Street parking limited.

Atmosphere is great. Food was lacking flavor and seasoning. I would say this is a drinks place except drinks were very inconsistent when served. First drink, great. Second drink not made the same way.

The 48 hour French toast is more like bread pudding French toast. You wont be disappointed. The berries were perfectly ripe. The chilaquiles were also very tasty and the black beans are vegetarian staff was very friendly and helpful. And the coffee was super flavorful. Getting the bread service is also highly recommended. Their sourdough comes a bit grilled and I think with olive oil on it. The rosemary butter is delicious on it but its also perfect just on its own. Note: Parking can be a bit tricky, but its definitely worth it!

Stop in, sit down, have a drink, and enjoy the ambiance. This is a great spot in the King William District to have a cocktail or beer, and they have some nice non-alcoholic options available too. The building is a historic local convent and you can read about this on the back of the menu. We didnt try the food, but Ive heard its good.

Ive been vegetarian for many years and the portabello sandwich is the best sandwich Ive had in my life, Im actually blown away. The chef is the nicest man ever, he spoke to me about the making of the sandwich, it meant to be like a reuben so he convinced me to actually try with the sauerkraut which I was nervous about but wow is it amazing! They make their sauerkraut in house. He said they can make many of their dishes vegetarian, I absolutely cannot wait to be back.

Sunday Brunch, the quiche were hockey pucks. I picked the whole thing up and banged it against the side of the table. A member of our group ordered an omelette and said it was good. But it was supposed to come with a side of marmalade. The server dropped it in the floor and didn t offer to bring another one. They also didn t bring us more water when we asked. Waiter apologized and said he would tell his manager. Manager never showed. The other members of our party (who all ordered quiche) all sat and waited for the member who got an omelette to finish eating. Comically, our waiter still brought us a bill for the omelette and drinks. We left hungry and with with a story about NEVER eating at Liberty Bar again. Manager couldn t be bothered to come see us, wait staff couldn t be bothered to replace food they dropped or refill our water. But they could figure out how to charge us. But that s okay, because I know how to leave a review.

Food is amazing, particularly the chilis they use and the Mediterranean options. Love the chickpeas and the lamb. The location has an amazing ambiance with beautiful hard wood and great light. Service is the type that makes you feel like youre a weirdo, but thats fine. Its not personal right? Right?

LB has been around San Antonio for decades and remains a go-to for many for good reason. Its reliable, comfortable and the menu doesnt try too hard. Its approachable, but well done. Pot roast is my personal favorite. Im also a fan of any which way they do lamb... Its always good. Their bloody mary is the best in the city. Homemade mix, generous on the vodka and served with appropriate garnish. Consistency is everything in an eatery and this is the greatest compliment I can pay Liberty Bar. For 10+ years, theyve served me breakfast, lunch and dinner and its always been a pleasure.

Don t let the word Bar in the name fool you. This is a full-service restaurant above all else. And yes, the drinks are great too! The ambiance here is what makes this place so much fun. I think they tried to mimic some of the nuances from the original location that made Liberty Bar so unique in Grayson in this new location and they have succeeded. The 140 year old house they occupy now has its own history and adds character to San Antonio staple. The food is like home cooking with fresher ingredients and an added flare.

The atmosphere is good but the music us too loud for conversation. The service was minimal. We received our food but no follow up. We had two margaritas which were good bur very small. I had the Chile Relleno which, even for a lover of spicy foods, was so could hardly eat it. The real bummer was the there were absolutely no sides with the meal. My wifes shrimp tacos were plain and tasteless. The bill including tip was $85 which is fine for a good meal but this was not.

This was probably the best spot I went to while I was in San Antonio. The ambiance was very cozy and home like. Our server Daniel was so polite and helpful while we were debating what to get. We started with the mimosas bundle they had with pineapple and cranberry(pineapple was my favorite). For my meal, I got the steak and eggs and it was delicious, I left the plate clean! If youre ever in San Antonio, dont miss out on this gem!

I haven t been to Liberty Bar since they moved to this location many years ago. The restaurant is located in a former convent, so it definitely has a unique atmosphere. Whether you are out for a casual meal with friends, or looking for a unique date night, this is the place for you. We had the falafel pita and the grilled portobello sandwich. The falafel pita, was just so-so. The falafel was a bit dry and was kind of on the bland side. However, the hummus and tabbouleh were both delicious. The portobello sandwich was amazing, and my mouth is watering now as I write this! The mushroom was grilled to perfection, and the toppings were all fresh and flavorful. The sauerkraut added a nice tangy touch, and the gruyere cheese was melted perfectly. I also had the potato salad, which was also great. It was creamy and flavorful, and it was the perfect side dish for the sandwich. Good food, great atmosphere, and great service.
