The food was delicious, we got the appetizer sampler and the seafood fettuccine, this was the best fettuccine I have ever had, yum! Sam was our server, very friendly, very informative about the food. We went on a Thursday evening and they have a band that plays there every Thursday. Great jazz band!

Havent been here in awhile, about 2 years. Waitress was a little slow for us, helped a table that arrived after us. Had to ask for silverware and bread. Never brought salads when we finally got entrees told us she would bring them right out told her to forget about them. On a positive note one in our party is allergic to shell fish she did have the cook come to table and said he would make sure definitely no cross contamination would occurred. Food tasted great like w had remembered. Not sure if we will return though. Came back today everything was good, service, food!

Catfish batter was overcooked and rock hard while the catfish flesh itself was almost mush. Hamburger was rock hard and burnt, jambalaya tasted as though they dumped the whole canister of salt in it before sending it out, fried oysters were burnt and hard, fries were bland and soggy. The staff was friendly, but the food was horrendous to the point that we could not even finish 1/4th of any of our plates.

My boyfriend and I visited this place today during the afternoon while in town for business. We were the only patrons there at the time. We thought we were going to get real cajun-style Louisiana food as the online portrayal suggested and we were both HIGHLY DISPAPPOINTED. Although the waitress was pleasant and friendly cold bread was served just as we sat down. The Cajun stir fry was the worst Ive ever had and my boyfriends cajun pasta was made with the same cheap store bought teriyaki sauce as my 3 meat cajun stir fry rice. Needless to say we will not ever come back again if in Lubbock for business.

Disgusting Has 2 waitresses sticky bar under cooked food. Should be shut down. Thats sad to say because I hope for good food. I ordered catfish s plate. Fries coleslaw. Simple. Hot beer under cooked food. Just so disappointed. $25.00 for 2 pieces of cat fish which is a full order of catfish, under cooked fries, and hush puppies. Once got food never asked if I needed anything. This is poor excuse for a restaurant. It was 2 pm on a Saturday. Not overly full. Very dual place.

My Mom choice this restaurant for her 80th Birthday Dinner, our waitress was very sweet. Food and timeliness was not good at all, the shrimp were small little shrimp that got lost in the mass amount of batter, our meals came out all at different times, some waited a good 20 min. After others got their food. My food came out the wrong sides, they literally took the plate to back raked of the rice and brought it back cold. The other dinners were cold as well. In closing.....NEVER GOING BACK! WONT RECOMMEND!

I try to change it up when I am dining out frequently, particularly when I am on one of my road trips, as I am now. I planned in advance to eat at Jazz A Louisiana Kitchen because I love Creole/Cajun food also because its located near the Airbnb where I am staying. I ordered a bowl of gumbo, which contained both shrimp and sausage. I also ordered Crawfish Etoufee,. Both were delicious! They have a live Jazz band that plays at 8:30pm on Thursdays, but I have plans already. I recommend this place!

While on business in Lubbock, Tx. I did quick search for nearby restaurants and Thats how I found Jazz Louisiana Kitchen. When I first walked in there were Autographed Dollar Bills taped to the walls at the entrance, I wondered about that, but forgot to ask about it. The restaurant had a casual atmosphere at about half capacity of guest and the aroma from the kitchen smelled great ! I looked around for a hostess and the staff seemed busy and I asked a couple sitting nearby, Do you seat yourself or go up to the bar to order ? They said to seat yourself, So, I did, I sat there for few minutes and a young woman who I thought was my server came up and handed me a menu and asked me What would you like to have I said, I havent been here before, I need to look at the menu, I would like a glass of water. She turned and walked away. Then it was about 15 minutes later another woman brought me the requested water and a basket of dried bread & butter. Her name was Sam and she had a good attitude & personality. I asked her where my server was and she said I am your server I then asked who was the previous woman who waited on me and disappeared? She said that was the hostess. That was strange. So, Sam answered my questions on a few menu items. I chose the seafood linguini and it was delicious, the sauce made the dish very flavorful. The downside is only a few slivers of fish in it, but plenty of pasta. I ordered a small cup of gumbo. But it wasnt anything like the restaurants serve in Louisiana or Houston area. I still would like to try some of their other selections, maybe next time in town. Give it a Go, You just might like it. Parking: Its in a strip mall

Jazz A Lousiana Kitchen is a picturesque bar and restaurant, its decoration is unique, starting with the old wooden floor, its walls decorated with many 1 dollars, enough tables and chairs to satisfy many customers in a small place, its cuisine is exquisite, We ordered blackened fish and blackened catfish, delicious and abundant for dessert. We ordered chocolate kake, delicious, the service we received was professional, efficient, fast and friendly, everything was clean, we loved this small refuge away from the daily stress of everyday life. , relaxing afternoon, I recommend it if you want to have a good time. We will be back! Today, February 9, we returned and here they do not lose the magic in the kitchen, everything was delicious 100 more points for this legendary restaurant we will return!!

The food was not the best. I ordered the seafood platter with a side of rice and I don t think the rice was even salted, the food was just glazed with oil and wasn t crispy, and it wasn t good. Recently my family came here to eat. One of us being from NOLA we had high hopes. The first time we ate here, it was not to our liking. Lukewarm food, crunchy noodles.. it was not for us. Fast forward to 2 days ago, I placed my honest respectful review on our food. The owner research out to me not only being able to receive feedback, but also was willing to make it right and have us try again. Today we went in for lunch And ordered a shrimp Poboy, and a catfish Poboy both blackened. The catfish was black into perfection and was so flavor. I was so happy. The shrimp was cooked a little bit too blackened, but after our waitress came back and asked, how was it, I respectfully told her it was a little too burnt, and they fixed it within five minutes. Our waitress also, let us know along with the owner that the batter is very heavy, and some people don t like it, and that we should try it blackened. It was tasteful when it was cooked correctly. I was so pleased with finding something that I actually enjoyed and that reminded us of NOLA but was even more impressed that the owner was able to accept constructive criticism and figured out how to please us as customers to bring us back. I would always recommend everybody to always use your words appropriately and express what you did, or did not like that way businesses can be even better. Thank you Jazz for being so sweet and so yummy

I ordered 3 separate orders and specifically asked to have them placed in different bags so we could ensure all items were there since they were going to three different people. Not only did they not place them separately, they didn t give my coworker the food and told them all three boxes were there, (the third box being just bread). When I called to tell them we were missing our food, they blamed my coworker and said it s his fault he forgot it not theirs. The waitress also said she didn t place my order so it s not her fault she didn t know to place them in separate bags. She took NO accountability when all I asked was for a refund for the food we didn t get. I called her out for being extremely rude, talking over me and not taking accountability and she had the nerve to continue to blame my coworker who picked up the food even though they didn t follow the simple instructions we gave when we placed the order to PREVENT this. Do not order from this place. They are rude, the food was bland, and the waitress is a jerk! Never again.

Unique shop. Complicated menu. I ordered the blackened chicken a la mer. The sauce was divine. The chicken however was difficult to eat due to the blackened seasoning. It wasn t and didn t taste burnt but it was in that realm. Someone else mentioned charcoal or carbon and I would agree. I had to drown it in the sauce, which again was divine. Next time I will go with a grilled chicken. It s worth trying again absolutely. Just ask for a recommendation. Kelsey the bartender was very kind and loves what she does and where she works.

Also, the service was extremely slow and the food was cold when it finally did come out. Two other customers asked for a refund also that night due to waiting 1.5 hrs for cold food. Decide to give me another chance tonight and got the food to go this time. The food was subpar at best. The rice was extremely crunchy and the chicken had no seasoning on it. Probably wont be going back anytime soon. Such a disappointment cuz it used to be the best place hands down.

Some would like to think the racism in Lubbock is settle or nonexistent!!! HA!!! My family and I went to JAZZ for dinner, when we walked in we noted diversity was nonexistent and that s okay, even though most ppl stared like we interrupted a KKK meeting, but when the waitress or host walked by and said sit wherever you ll want and walked passed us, No hello, welcome or any positive attitude!! SMH. We turned on our heels and walked next door to where the service was remarkable from start to finish. I frequent JAZZ but after yesterday not again. Ruby

The atmosphere is cool, the overall look is comfortable and the servers were cute. But the food was trash!! The food was under seasoned or not seasoned at all. The drinks were ok but definitely someone here is heavy handed with the bottle. Definitely not worth coming back or a second thought.

My boyfriend and I went last night for the hushpuppies. Those were delicious! He had never been and ordered the blackened salmon. I had the crawfish ettoufe. When our plates came out, he was so surprised by the amount of food! I tried his salmon, and I will order it the next time we come in! My ettoufe was amazing! Our server was prompt, and had a great attitude! We will be back soon!

This is hands down the best Cajun restaurant in Lubbock! To this day, we have never had a bad meal! These guys really know how to cook up some good food! The food was amazing! The sweat tea was perfect. Honestly, I couldnt ask for a better meal. Cajun food is amazing when its done right, and this place does it very well! The stuffed catfish I had smothered in crayfish Etoufee and man was it good. The stuff zucchini was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The stuff was so good we had to mop it up with a little bread! The gumbo is perfect! Great flavor, perfectly seasoned, and you get a little of everything in it. The crayfish etoufee outstanding! You know, being so far away from Louisiana, I didnt think we would find Cajun this good in Lubbock, but Im glad we did! I would highly recommend coming here and eating!

This was my first and last that this food establishment. At first, as I walked through the door, I noticed that the tables were way too close for any comfort. More or less 3 and a half feet apart. After about 10 minutes, our waitress came to our table and gave us a couple of menus. My was very worn and torn. The prices were a little high, but I was okay with that. As an appetizer, I ordered stuffed mushrooms, and for my meal, I ordered blackened catfish. Other than being spicy, the mushrooms had no flavor. When our food came out, I thought i had gotten the wrong plate ( my friend was given the wrong plate for sure ). I thought my plate had a thin piece of carne asada. Nope, it was catfish. The veggies were blann and the catfish also had no flavor other than just being spicy. My friends chair kept getting bumpped into, and the guy in the next table were nearly bumping elbows. This was my experience and my opinion. Experience it yourself...

This place is really great. Ive only had one dish, the seafood fettuccine, I requested them to make it a little spicy, delish! The waitress we had was funny, cheerful & helpful. The bartender makes a mean spicy bloody mary, Yum!! My only complaints are the flies, too many flies for an indoor restaurant. I wish the complimentary bread was warm/toasted instead of just cut up, cold bread pieces. Ill be back! Second time there, I ordered the chicken a la mer. Chicken was good, LOTS of veggies with this dish. It was good, but not great. Same complaints as before: cold bread and having to keep flies off food. I think Im done going there.

Food was so bland. There was nothing Cajun about the place other than the name. Coleslaw was very warm and runny. Ordered unsweetened tea was brought sweet. Asked them again for unsweetened. We got the ticket the same time they brought out yet another sweet tea. We had high hopes but this was not worth the money we paid. None of us finished their whole meal.

( THIS REVIEW IS NOT ABOUT THE FOOD BUT THE SERVICE RECEIVED) Short and sweet. In 30 mins I only received bread and water (and tea.) Two other parties & and a Togo order, received their food before my food came into sight. Dont know how much longer I would have waited, but I left the restaurant. If you are wondering, yes I do know that different foods take longer or shorter to cook. But this was excessive. Maybe Ill try again when I am back that way. P. S. Online menu is out of date.

If you want very, very, very seasoned food, you got it. If I could take the seasoning from the sauce and watered it down and made a whole pot of sauce, I could still have enough seasoning to season everyones plates in the restaurant. It was a great flavor, just so strong on the seasoning. The fried zucchini and mushrooms are ok. They have a lot of batter on them. Their homemade ranch is a 10 out if 10. If your order Blackend fish well by God you got black fish. Coleslaw is a good 8 out of 10. Our waitress was amazing. Just beware. If you dont like super seasoned food.. this place isnt for you.

The servers were fantastic but the food was not. My sister and I used to come here with our mother and the food was amazing. This time I can only brag about the service which was excellent. I had the same thing Ive always ordered but this time it was bland and had no flavor. Im allergic to seafood so I ordered chicken fettuccine and it was bland and something I could have ordered anywhere. 50 dollars for lunch that you cant enjoy just kind of stinks. My sisters chicken Marsalis she said was good so at least hers was satisfactory. You need to check on this recipe to see why there was no flavor so other patrons are not disappointed

The waitress was rude, snatched the menu out of my hand. Inadequate amount of crawfish in my fettuccine which by the way definitely was lacking in the seasoning department. Overall I would not suggest eating here. Atmosphere was pretty clean and quite they get a couple points for that.

Food was stale and flavorless. The eggs in our salads were green indicating that they had remained for a long period of time in the fridge. The hushpuppies lacked personality, consisting entirely of cornmeal (like seriously, its not that hard to add jalepeneo and onion or even just some salt for crying out loud!), the fish was cooked to perfection I will admit, but the coating was thick, grainy, and unseasoned, the shrimp was just weird; it almost looked like the batter used on fish and chips, but again unseasoned, the fries need more salt and were limp, and the cups of sauce they packed ended up in the colslaw when they should be nestled in with the fries under the fish. Just plain not good.

Food was great! Alot of flavor and our waitress was great. The only bad thing I could say is they messed up one of the full orders of fettuccine with a half order. When she brought the plate back it looked like they just put the half order on a larger plate. I had a full order and it was heaping and over flowing.
