Visited here on a Thursday evening right after they opened at 5:30pm. The place is small, but not too small; intimate is the word Id use to describe the size and atmosphere of the place. It feels like youre eating in someones home in a way...and the food tastes like that as well! Everything we had brought to the table tasted fantastic and was even reasonably priced. Though their menu was limited and the presentation of it could use a little work, it did not take away from the amazing experience my partner and I had at Tombonis - well definitely be visiting again sooner rather than later!

This place would be great if they sold it to someone who knew how to run a restaurant. Theyre like a girl you think is pretty until she opens her mouth & that nasty attitude comes spewing out. You better hope you dressed to code, dont unwittingly bring your child, reserve a table in their empty restaurant, dont expect to sit outside in their lit up area at one of the many empty picnic tables & dont get judged by their snooty staff who arent even dressed as well as they expect their customers to be. Its a hit or miss with this place.

Weve been here twice now. The first time was just outstanding. I couldnt say enough positives about it. We returned for a second time and it was just one bad thing after another. The food was not great... not awful... but not worth the price and certainly not a celebratory meal out. My only guess is that when they have a band playing outside, their staff is overwhelmed a cannot manage expectations. The server seemed to sense our disappointment and offered a free dessert as compensation but at that point I just wanted to go home. Try them on a night there isnt a musician playing.

Great outside atmosphere, pizza was very good, salad was VERY small for $8! Good beer selection including IPAs. My concern was pricing! They had tip suggestion ranges (18 - 20%) that included the tax ... tip on tax, I dont think so! On top of that, they charged a cover fee that was not mentioned anywhere and suggested the tip on THAT. Tables of 4 had a required 20% tip, so $48 added to your bill (I guess, I HOPE, the band would have received the $48). Just bad practice in my opinion. Vegetarian options: Margarita pizzas, salads

We attended this place from out of town for a concert. Great food, great service, nice outdoor atmosphere. However, we were stunned with a $10 cover charge each that apoeared on the bill. There was no indication of this charge anywhere, not on the bands notices online, not on the restaurant online, not anywhere in person while we were there. We were not told ever, and learned when we got the final bill. Also, the suggested tip accounts included both taxes and cover charges. Just not good business practice. For tables of 4, a 20% tip is added automatically, this includes the band charge so for a table of 4 the unmentioned added fee is $48!!! And thats just for the band! Then the tip gets added. Again, this should be printed, posted online and told to us in person before we are about to leave for the night. It was our first time there, so it was a shock. Just didnt feel good. Great pizza though.

One bite and your mouth will sing its praises, it will wonder how can you ever bite into another boring burger. You will find excuses to send the kids to grandmas just so you can bask in the ambience of good food. Eating perfectly sauteed veggies.. the ones your kids would sit at the table for hours without eating. Sauces, entrees, special dishes and not a single chicken nugget. Send the kids to summer camp so you can come every night Drinking coffee from French presses and flasks of water will leave you feeling so high class that you feel your pinky raise as it touches your lips. Service fit for royalty as you eat the food of kings and queens.

My adult sons and I went to Tombonis for my birthday. We arrived shortly before 7 pm. The service was horrible. We ordered the chips, salsa and queso appetizer. We got it about 40 minutes later and had about 15 chips for 3 sauces and 3 people. We asked for more and waited another 30 minutes for another 15 chips - not nearly enough for our 3 cups of salsa and queso. They ran out of pizza by 7:30. We finally got our dinner around 8:30. It was so bad. Everything was cold. The chicken Alfredo sauce was thick and tasted like a frozen dinner. I had the Tuscan shrimp. The shrimp was fine but the sauce was horrible; no words to describe how bad it tasted. My son tasted it and said it was by far the worst of the 3 entrees we ordered. Another got the chicken parm. It was cold and bland. Needless to say i was so disappointed. Our check was $120 for our food and beer. The food and service were horrible!! It was by far the worst dining experience in my 58 years and I will never go back.

I really enjoyed my first visit to Tomboni s. This is a super cute little house with awesome outdoor patio with live music on weekends. The Italian focused menu is extremely fresh and yummy. The Brussel sprouts were very flavorful and Tuscan Shrimp outstanding!! Restaurant staff extremely nice and attentive. Pay attention to the outstanding wine list, everything affordable and obviously time spent picking the wines. Pizza oven on weekends and I cannot wait to experience that!! Great job to the owners and staff.

Good little place! The pizza was good and they were attentive to our situation when our food was not delivered for quite some time. Cute location! First time we were turned away because they were seating anymore. Just tried for a 2nd time was asked for a reservation, funny thing is I was told the 1st time I didnt need a reservation. Then this time we were offered sitting outside and pizza only. I asked if they had a full menu and the host said yes but they are busy. Host turned here back saying something I couldnt understand so we left. I surely hope it wasnt because we were black.

Probably first and last time ever going here last night. My dad and I walked in after getting off of work. The lady first asked if we had a reservation.. we looked at her confused and said no. With about 15 tables total in the very small dining area, all of about 5 were filled. She just pointed to a table and told us to sit with very smug looks. After about 5 minutes, we had no menu and no one had so much as looked our way. We decided to just leave. After looking at menu online and everything I have heard, food is extremely overpriced ($17 for a salad), it smelled of a horrible rancid fish smell, and very rude. Felt almost as if we were being treated like Pretty Woman and if we were to return in nice clothing we would have been treated differently.

Food was disappointing. For the price, you expect better quality. They didn t have mozzarella for our appetizer, our other app was cold and took forever to get. After waiting about an hour and a half (it wasn t even packed), we finally got our entrees. One was not as advertised and just pretty much beans and mushrooms on a plate. I notice they are constantly looking for a chef on FB so that s probably why things weren t up to par. Walked out paying $200 for mediocre food (wine included in price).

First time to the restaurant. They were playing music in the courtyard but we dined inside. Didn t have to pay a cover charge. They were crowded outside but the service was still quick inside. It seems that the menu varies with what ingredients are fresh. We had a shrimp entree and a pork entree Both were in tasty sauces with well prepared pasta. The only blemish was the bread wasn t as warmed as we d expect, but that was probably due to the crowd of people. My wife is a bread connoisseur, so she notices.

We came to Tomboni s on Wednesday evening 6-23 for the first time. We were very disappointed! There was a $7 cover charge for music that was so loud you could not have a conversation at your table without yelling. The food was very bland and over priced. The service was the worst. We never got our appetizers and when our food finally came out we ask about the appetizers and found out she forgot to turn it in. Next we ordered dessert. After about 30 minutes we were told that they were out of the desert we ordered. It took that long to realize that? Then the last straw was receiving our check only to realize they had changed us for the appetizers we never received! Needless to say we will not be returning to this restaurant.

The food is great, but if you order through waiter you can not be sure you will receive your order. This is not a waiter issue. The restaurant cancels the order without notifying the customer if they are busy only way I found out was after an hour I checked the waiter app and it was cancelled by the restaurant due to the fact they were busy...they should remove the service from waiter on the weekends if they can t serve the app. And not have the option, very frustrating.

We had lunch today and as always the food was well prepared and presented and DELICIOUS! Service was excellent. I only give 4 stars because we did choose to eat in the dining room as only 2 tables were occupied when we arrived so all were well distanced. However all future parties were seated at tables next to ours while the other half of the restaurant was empty. The staff needs to seat patrons apart. We will not return to eat until the coronavirus is no longer around.

Tombonis claims to be an upscale dining restaurant. Although when I visited this establishment I was fairly disappointed on the upscale claim because it was far from it. This restaurant is set up and an old house. The dining room is kitchen tables and chairs. I was looking for an upscale dining establishment, i could have saved money and ate at home and had close to the same experience. The food on the other hand looks good. Although I dont recommend...

Sad conversation with the owner has lost our business. Eaten here many times, the food is delicious probably the best in town. I wanted to take my mom here who s in town for the week to show her this great restaurant. I called to set a reservation for 7 guests for this evening. I was told 7:00 was available & she was even going to see if she could put together an earlier seating. I mentioned our 4-year son would be 1 of the 7 guests, should it help with possible seating arrangements. At this point she informed me infant kids are not allowed & implied she would not be able take our reservation. Unfortunately all 4-year olds do not know how to behave at a dinner table. Completely valid & understood, aside from the hard fact that my family & 4-year old have eaten here a 1/2 dozen times or better. Funniest part is they give him colors, allow him to color on the paper table cloth & always embrace his presence.

We unfortunately did not get to eat here, while the staff was nice we could not bring our 7 month daughter in unless she could remain quiet; small space and sounds carry. So I understand some people want a quiet night out, but is there regulations on decibel level of conversation & laughter as well for adults? * edited to respond to the Owners response to this post* Perhaps post a sign that lets parents know not to bring kids in or have it noted what times, ages, etc are appropriate for your business. I know there was a family that was turned away right after we were.

So Im torn here. The owner rubbed my party wrong by the way she spoke to my niece and nephew. She redeemed herself by giving my nephew a tour of the kitchen when he got too rowdy. Very cool of her. Sat down to eat then changed our mind. It was okay but I think we would appreciate it more if it was on San Antonio riverwalk. Just seems slightly out of place. But the ambience was cute!!

Super cute little place! Ordered the daily special tomato basil soup and the hearty grilled cheese. Soup was just okay, nothing fancy, and grilled cheese was good. Would go again to try more of the menu. Wait staff was exceptional.

A quaint little establishment... One of the few Anniversary worthy places in Longview! Their menu is limited, but always excellent! The service is excellent. Never had a bad meal here! Enjoy!

We really enjoyed ourselves at Tombonis Bistro. The food was some of the best Ive ever had in Longview and the service was impeccable! Outside of the calamari being a bit too salty I have zero complaints. One idea I do have for Tombonis though, BRUNCH! I think it is a perfect location for a Saturday brunch. Go check them out; I know Ill be back.

Our first time here. The atmosphere is really quaint, and clean. Looks like it was a house at one time and turned into a restuarant. Wood table tops, wood chairs and cloth napkins. Our waitress gave us great friendly service and was very attentive. Maybe 14 tables total with only a few empty at 6:30 Saturday and we were seated very quickly. I ordered the rack of lamb and my wife wife ordered the black Angus and lobster tail. Soft drinks are canned but poured over ice at your table. We are not wine drinkers. Flatbread sausage appetizers were very tasty. The lamb was wonderful until I found hair in my dish. The steak was terrific, tender and juicy. Tiramisu was okay and the Creme Brulee was pretty good as well. Too bad about the hair or this would be a 5 star review. And no manager apologized or even approached our table. This to me shows management simply doesnt care. This will make me not return for another visit.

The atmosphere and staff are so welcoming. It is a small but cozy space. Between my husband and I we shared the Pasta portofino, the stuffed chicken breast, and the bourbon pecan cake for dessert. We could not stop raving about how delicious it was. Our server was prompt and we were served our food within 20 minutes of being there despite it being the lunch rush. I think this may be my new favorite food spot in Longview. I already want to go back and give another menu item a try!!!

Our Valentine s Day lunch was wonderful today. We loved the lasagna. Absolutely delicious! The warm flourless chocolate dessert was scrumptious. This was our first time to eat there but we plan to go back soon and try something else from their menu. Made for a nice Valentine s Day lunch.
