I ended up here while visiting from out of town and had a craving for a good caldo de mariscos, and boy, did they deliver! ABSOLUTELY THE BEST CALDO IVE EVER HAD! Super tender, perfectly cooked octopus, chunks of fish and plenty of shrimp filled the cup. Unfortunately, MY mistake was getting it to-go, and not being able to properly enjoy this deliciousness in a bowl, while sitting in their BEAUTIFULLY DECORATED restaurant. The friendly waitress and chef/owner? were a pleasure to talk to while I waited to take my food. And even though I took my food to-go, they did not leave anything out: fresh limes, bread, and some tasty chips & salsa! I m not sure when Ill be back , but Ill definitely look forward to stopping by if I do. Its a beautiful location in a nice part of town. Make sure and stop by!

I personally would not recommend eating here. I was pretty grossed out by all the health safety issues. A gentleman poured frozen shrimp in the sink behind the bar to defrost whilst using the same sink to wash his hands (while the shrimp was still in there). He was handling oysters, then would rinse his hands with water, and then touch something else. He took a bunch of cilantro after opening oysters and chopped it up in the veggie cooler for later. Just.. no. It was freezing cold in there, the service was slow. My husband enjoyed his grilled dish which is why I have the rating for the food. But I would personally never want to eat there again.

Beware of red flags: no cars in the parking lot at 6:30pm, only customers in the restaurant. Despite the conditions, it took more than an hour to get our meals, food was not worth it so overpriced, they charge for refills on tea, added a big tip over $30 despite the fact that they took too long and weren t even busy. The service was nice but could have warned us ahead of time or at least give us an estimate on how many more minutes it would take or give a reason for the delay.

Unfortunately- waitress or manager , Elena , debated with me about why I asked to return a dish - which according to the menu shrimp is cooked with lemon . I expected cooked shrimp instead the shrimp was raw. I told her I couldn t eat raw shrimp and she said that I should ve known when I ordered the dish or I could ve asked. The dish was removed from the bill , however I had to debate with her . Not sure if they re shorthanded, but we had to wait about 20 for someone to acknowledge us to take an order ( although I was at the bar) and another 20 for the queso to be served nobody seems to be in charge.

We stumbled upon this place by accident and absolutely loved it. We started with chips & queso, a margarita and a pina colada. The queso tasted like real cheese and not velveeta. We can t wait to come here again. Another thing my wife wanted me to tell you- the temperature was perfect. We weren t freezing the whole time like every other restaurant this time of year (summer).

Wonderful restaurant addition to the old town Lewisville community. Open and casual atmosphere with plenty of patio seating outside, friendly employees, great service and we had a wonderful conversation with the owner. My husband had the shrimp tacos with chipotle sauce and I had the whole fried red snapper with the house specialty garlic sauce. Both dishes were excellent and the seafood was very fresh. For drinks, we tried different margaritas- the house and the picosita, which turned out to be my favorite. We will definitely return and I hope this restaurant continues to do well!

Also their side options were all good. My mom raved about the salad and I really liked the rice and churro beans. The owner is super nice and came around and met with each table, very kind and you can really tell that he cares that the food is enjoyed! I will be going back!

WOW....Five Stars is NOT enough for this restaurant. Tonight was our first visit there (after driving by it several times). I was not expecting much, as I thought it would be another fried seafood place, but I told my wife we could give it a try. I am glad we did. We were greeted right away, by the owner & he seated us and made sure a server came to our table. The server came with menus, chips & salsa and took our drink order. First thing we noticed was how fresh & delicious the chips & salsa were. Chips were thick & crisp and the salsa had a great flavor & an excellent spice/heat to it. I was told that they make both the chips & salsa in house. The menu was not what I expected (it had many great choices) & as we were reading it, the owner came back to our table to see if we needed any help with the menu. I asked for recommendations, he led more toward their scallop dinner (part of their Mariscos Al Gusto dinners) with Al Mojo De Ajo (garlic sauce) & I added some shrimp to it, as he said the shrimp were almost as good as the scallops. My wife wanted Salmon (also part of their Mariscos Al Gusto dinners) but she could not have the garlic sauce or the normal sides that accompany it. He told her they would prepare with a sauce of lemon, cilantro & a few other spices (I forgot what they were) & she also added some shrimp. When our food was delivered, we were impressed & it did not disappoint. Everything on the plate was fresh, well seasoned & cooked to perfection. The scallops & shrimp in the garlic sauce were phenominal and my wife said her salmon was delicious. The sides that we each had were also very good! Great Food, Excellent Prices and wonderful service from the owner & every employee we interacted with. We will DEFINITELY be going back. This place needs to be a #1 location in Lewisville for not only seafood but they also have some mexican dishes (tacos, enchiladas, etc) and steak on their menu, which I am sure is just as good as the seafood! Try it, you will not be disappointed.

We do not deserve this place here in Lewisville. But I am utterly THRILLED that its here, and I hope the community will step up and swarm this place with business consistently. Previous restaurants in this space have struggled, and I dont understand why. The indoor/outdoor concept is amazing, tons of folks live within walking distance, and its on the fringe of historic downtown, which couldnt be lovelier. Im familiar with this restaurant from their Dallas location, which has always been THE best place for Mexican seafood in the metroplex, period. When I saw they had opened in the old Baja Ritas place, I IMMEDIATELY grabbed a small group to dine there that same evening. Happy to say, this location has the same impossibly fresh seafood, prepared ONLY after you order, with spectacular flavor and presentation. I honestly dont know how they do it. Every single item we ordered was prepared to the pinnacle of perfection. (And as a fine dining chef...I can have some unreasonably high standards.) We started with the chicharron de dorado...extremely crispy nuggets of mahi mahi, yet somehow incredibly moist, despite frying the outside to almost a tortilla-chip-crunch. (How do they do that? Mahi overcooks if you look at it the wrong way.) Served on a generous pile of freshly-made guac. Next was the Maleficio: shrimp, oysters, and scallops marinated in a black sauce that was strongly Asian influenced (soy and maggi, I think). This dish was transcendent, maybe my favorite of the night. The raw seafood was impossibly fresh, and the marinade intensely savory and slightly effervescent so it tingled the tongue. Ive never had anything like it. Their version of leche de tigre came hot, which was a neat surprise. Shrimp gently poached in a light, yet complex tomato seafood broth in a pint jar. The shrimp were not overcooked (hard to achieve, virtually EVERY restaurant overcooks their shrimp) and the broth was so luscious we kept sipping it from the jar long after the shrimp had vanished. Mariscoco was an artfully presented mix of raw shellfish and perfectly-tender octopus marinated in a young coconut, with the coconut water offered on the side. So chic. And we finished with a whole butterflied snapper, grilled to utter perfection. With their seafood mains, you can choose between a variety of sauces, and we picked Veracruz (sweet peppers, olives, and tomatoes, and presented on the side you so you can sauce to your own perfection.) I was uncomfortably stuffed, but was still picking tender, moist bits of buttery snapper meat off the bone, never wanting it to end. Cocktails are great, if a bit on the sweet side for my taste, but an unfortunate necessity for luring the masses who will keep the bar busy on summer evenings. Apparently, theres also karaoke, and lawn games out back. Theres a LOT to love here, and this restaurant will appeal to a big variety of customers...Latin American folks looking for authentic mariscos, foodies chasing the freshest seafood and most unique preparations of such, sushi fans who want to try Sinaloas take on raw fish, woo-girls who want to chug margaritas at a cool indoor-outdoor bar, dudes who wanna sip cold beer and impress woo-girls with their cornhole skills... PLEASE keep this place in business, folks. This is the caliber of restaurant that lures central Dallas folks to our awesome little downtown. We NEED to deserve it.

5 stars from first-time customers! Coming from San Diego, we have often been disappointed with seafood restaurants around North Texas, but Palapas was excellent. We were immediately impressed by the aromas as we walked in, and the atmosphere was relaxed & casual. Elena gave us the restaurant & menu specifics, answering all of our questions - and her recommendations were on point! My wife had the Tacos Gobernador (shrimp & mahi) and I had the Trio Caribe with an order of guacamole. Many Latin restaurants add too much heat to their foods, but the flavors at Palapas were absolutely delicious & well balanced. My wife commented that their marinade made her seafood enjoyable to eat, versus dry/flavorless fish weve had at other places. Even our dessert was not overly sweetened or coated to mask the simplicity - crisp churros w/vanilla ice cream, chocolate drizzle & fresh blueberries for the win! *Thank you to Elena & the team, well definitely return for another round soon. Kid-friendliness: We saw a few families (different sizes) come & go.

We sat at the bar where they prepared the Aguachile right in front of us! We did the red & green combo on the owners recommendation - it was delicious. Also enjoyed mahi tacos and cold Pacifico! All was fresh and super yummy! It was very quiet for a Friday night. Owner said theyve been open just a few weeks and still working out a few kinks. Definitely need the community to give them a try. If you like authentic Cabo-style food, you wont be disappointed! The only thing missing was the crowd! Hubs and I will be back!

Then I ordered Hot Dog Callejeros plate, first of all ,its not bacon wrapped, which on the menu it says, the fries didnt have any season. The HotDogs look like the gas station ones. Baja Ritas was WAY BETTER.
