My first time trying this place out. The staff were nice and professional and the atmosphere of the restaurant was good But the food is not the best. The beans taste like from a can and the tortillas taste decent, but not as good as they should be. They taste like I could just get them from HEB. And the rice as well. And the chips and salsa. I would advise the owners of the restaurant to rethink the food. Maybe try a different way of making it.

We came in around 9 pm and were immediately sat. Someone came and took our order, brought our food out and we were never checked on again. No refills, no how did everything come out, nothing. However there was a table of about 8 to 10 people and the manager was asking how they were doing constantly. Would not eat at this location again.

If I were to describe La Tapatia with one word, it would be meh. Id honestly never eat here if not for my family. For whatever reason they all like La Tapatias food way more than I do and keep making me go with them. I much prefer Jardin Del Rey. Everything Ive had here is either too greasy or bland (or both!). The salsa for the chips tastes like Pace salsa. It takes them a long time to prepare anything, even when hardly anyone is there. Youll wonder if they forgot all about you sometimes too, because they often take a long time to come back to your table and provide service! And on top of that its getting pretty expensive for what it is. You can expect to be charged $40 give or take for 2 people if you get drinks. And yes, thats BEFORE the tip!

This place is very nice, with the service being great cause of how friendly the people are. The atmosphere is very nice, it has a type of warmth to it with the orange type colors. Besides all of that, the food was great. Ive had breakfast and dinner here. The breakfast is great, the pancakes and breakfast tacos are awesome, and it isnt too expensive around 10 - 20 per person

I am writing this with zero disdain in my heart, completely unbiased and 100% disappointment. I used to come here all the time, it s not the most elegant of places, but it s cozy enough. The food is delicious and the prices great. It s the service that needs A LOT of improvement and I want to emphasize it on this review. It is shameful and completely tasteless the way service is ran here. Hostesses seem to not know what is going on most of the time and miscommunication between front of house and kitchen is an all time high. Disjointed is a word that comes to mind. If you want something good to eat at an affordable price this is it. Perhaps the price to pay is with the long waits. They will have you seating waiting for an order that was on the waiting rack for minutes on end, making your food soggy and it s quality to go down.

Bad attention, they dont want to take Runners orders because he says that the delivery people dont know how to do their job and they discriminate against people, the customer places an order and they always say that they cant take them for some tortillas, maybe the customer doesnt place The order is fine, but education comes first, whatever the situation, it is not good to be treated rudely, it is a true sign of respect.

HORRIBLE! Don t waste your time or money. When I was handed the check for almost $100!!! for three dinner plates (chicken quesadilla, 2-Tex Mex plates, 2 teas, a water, 1 apple juice, and a sprite, and small queso) I was shocked to see we were charged 18% gratuity for being a family of 6! I asked why no one told us before we sat down and just got a shoulder shrug. Then the lady had the nerve to ask me to add an additional tip. Unbelievable! If you bring your family in be prepared to be charged just to sit down, and then to pay for gross food. Our Tex Mex plates were disgustingly soggy, the tacos and tostada, barely a scoop of rice on the plate, and the enchiladas were so tiny. The chicken in the quesadilla was nasty. I can t believe the rip off we paid for.

The breakfast tacos tasted bland. The employee at the drivers thru window was nice but she didnt speak English. There was a 15 - to 20-minute wait to get your order. However, the tacos were fresh and warm. I loved the green sauce! Parking: There are open parking spots on the north side and the front of the restaurant building. food is decent but this is the 4 or 5 time I went up there and it was closed for some random reason. Probably best to call and make sure they are open before heading that way. Edit* Do not order beef fajitas here. They substitute chuck roast for skirt steak. I know many wont believe it so I have added a photo. The vegetables are also raw, so the flavor isnt right. Food is usually great and consistent. Service is always slow no matter what time you go or even if the restaurant isnt busy. Basically you get seated, order, get your food and you never see your server again. Regardless of whether or not you leave a good tip, service will be the same. I chalk it up to most of the wait staff being shy or ESL. It takes some getting acclimated to, but if you request your drink refill when the food comes, and go to the front to pay the check/request a Togo box, you can leave without waiting forever to flag someone down.

The first time experience was nice. It was slow & and quiet, which was pleasant for the dining experience we were having. Our server wasnt popping up every 2 seconds for us, which was a relief since we werent in a rush & came to serve us when we were ready. Terrible experience, ordered the carne asada tacos. It was not carne asada, it was chopped FRIED meat that was stringy, greasy, overcooked and not tender at all. Good food for sure! The service, not so great. My waitress took over 15 minutes to get me my check. Which she never got so I just left enough money to cover my tab. I walk out the door and the other waitress which had been watching me the whole time having to wait runs out and tells me I need to pay my tab! Didn t even bother to help me when she saw my waitress wasn t coming with my tab but she damn sure watched me walk out the door! I ve never walked out on a tab but to be accused of it really sucked! I won t be going back if I see the same waitress there. Intervene when you see anything wrong. Don t just intervene when it effects you.

I was very disappointed with this place today. I had breakfast here and when they brought my coffee and creamers the creamers were rancid. When i brought it to the attention of the waitress she half way agreed with me, but gave me attitude. To make matters worse, my food was served cold (it was frigid) literally. When it was time to pay I realized I was charged for the extra milk, even though it was their fault that they had to bring me fresh milk. When I brought it to the attention of the cashier she replied with a cocky attitude stating the creamers could not have been bad since they were refrigerated. I asked for that to be removed, but she only made a face and said nothing. I was still charged for the milk. I m never coming here again.
