Its in remodel. The entrance is partially blocked. If you go, be very cautious, construction supplies all over, entrance not marked.

The Dino tracks are about 1/2 a mile west of 183, just past the houses on the cliff on the left side of the river.

Amazing project once you figure out where to park! Easy cross of the river and a small hike up the river

Because the boardwalk near the fossil footprints is private land, you cant walk on it now. The new route is from the bridge of the highway to the bottom of the stream. After crossing the stream, we go upstream along the stream for about 800-1000m. You will see footprints on the ground one by one

Tracks are cool and walk is easy. Parking however is hard. Theres a spot people park north of the river under the bridge but you should bring your hiking or water shoes since you will need to cross the river.

I am very very disappointed with this. There is no parking, all the parking lots had become private lands/construction side and warnings signs everywhere to tell you to keep out. There is no way going to the trail. We looked around 2 times spent about an hour looking. Had to leave with 3 disappointed kids who drove an hour for this. I wish this could be a treasure for local for public educational purpose. Wish there is a local guide a way for us.

When the water is down, it is a great little hike west from Hwy 183 to see these tracks. They are not as well marked as they were about 20yrs ago (last time I went up there). Parking is sketchy as 183A is under construction in that area.

One of the unique locations in Texas where you can see the Dinosaur Tracks in Texas. Dinosaur tracks possibly made by an Acrocanthosaurus in the South Gabriel River in northern Leander. In much of Texas during the Cretaceous Period, dinosaurs walked through tidal flats and sank into the squishy mud, leaving footprints. The prints are more than 125 M years old and now being preserved as an artifact/memory of these creatures. You can park by the highway to see the prints although no dedicated spot being available. #HappyVisiting
