Dry burger, overcooked even though I asked for medium rare. Forgot the milkshake I ordered and I had to ask for it again 10 mins later. High prices, small portions. Nachos dont even have beans despite beans being part of the item on a menu. Theres a reason theyre dead at 6PM on a Saturday. Edit: Thank you for your response, I did try to rectify the situation at the time but was met with multiple excuses from the staff, similar to your comment about being under new owners. These burgers are DELICIOUS! The buns are slightly sweet and thick with fresh veggies and well cooked patties. The fries are also some of the best I ve had. I also appreciated the decor, a few tvs, and friendly staff. We ll be back, for sure.

LOVED this place! Ty took our orders and answered any and all questions we had about the menu. He was so sweet, definitely some of the best customer service I ve ever had. Staff was walking in tables in shoes and socks and did not clean the table afterward. Its really unfortunate how far downhill this business has gone. My wife and I used to enjoy Moonies once or twice a month, but the service and atmosphere have become so unenjoyable that we actually ate our last Moonies burger today and we took it home because we got tired of the long wait and the empty dining room absolutely blaring music. If you used to like Moonies, keep the memory, and dont eat here.

Fabulous service. The burgers were perfect! The seasoning, the bun, the quality. The fries , tots, and onion rings were hot fresh and crispy. Try the Irish cream shake.. amazing! The staff was excellent! They truly wanted feedback on their food and service. This is our new burger spot!

Was looking forward to eating a burger during working and hoping the day would hurry up and end. Wife and I got there, she sat while I stood at the counter to order. Young lady was there helping out a cust with a phone in order. I waited and then another cust got up to get a glass. Still waiting and the young lady just never engaged and just sort of stood there? After like 5 minutes I gave up and we left. Been there before and I just thought it may have been an off day. Nope, some of the staff seemed aloof. Will not spend my money there anymore. You folks lost a customer. The more I hear folks talking about burgers, I will let them know there are other places.

Ordered Moonies from DoorDash on Sunday, 7/7, and got some horrible food poisoning. It s the only thing I had eaten that day. I m still struggling to keep food down. On the topic of food hazards, i had also ordered fried pickles and the cap of the ranch cup seems to have melted from the heat, which doesn t seem safe.

We used to love going to Moonies in Cedar Park. My kid requested Moonies for his 15th birthday lunch today. The Leander location is sad. It is definitely a downgrade from the CP location in every way. Furniture is shabby and dirty. It doesn t have a shred of charm. Staff is rude. I asked if they had any non-plastic utensils for my husband to eat the salad he ordered. The response was No we don t. Too many people threw them away. Mind you, there are decent plastic utensils in the world and then there are the cheapest, most useless ones like they have here. The thing is, I get it. It s expensive to have utensils thrown away. That s not my fault though and I felt the response didn t have to be so defensive and accusatory. I didn t even ask why so I did not need that explanation in the first place. Basically the hospitality here is non-existent. The burger I ordered was fine but they were out of sweet potato fries so that was disappointing. The onion rings were very over cooked. And there was a random sweet potato fry so that was curious. My kid got a chili cheese dog with weird cheese that didn t melt. We paid $50 for three people to eat lunch and left hungry and disappointed.

Ordered a double burger, chili cheese fries and mushrooms. Umm service, could use a smile (always a flag). Not sure how in this world it was voted best burger, more like best disappointment Patties were rock hard, asked for cheddar, got some s%^ @ cheese after the upcharge online, soggy tomato and just disgusting all around, did not eat it. Mushrooms were ok, took off all the gross wet batter and just ate the mushroom. Chili cheese fries were the best (oh and the ranch!) and luckily I got full off those things (was really looking forward to the voted best burger though) Unless I m craving chili cheese fries, NEVER going back.

We went for lunch on a Thursday around 1pm. The owner greeted us and was friendly. They have several kinds of burgers, hotdog, chili dogs, salads, and more. They have several options for sides, fries, loaded fries, onion rings, tots, sweet potato fries, and a side salad. I got the jalapeño popper burger and sweet potato fries, and my son got the chili dog. It was huge and delicious! I prefer my burger less cooked, but the fresh jalapeños and cream cheese were wonderful!!!

This was so good! It was my first time. And I thought that it was in a different location but when I got there they told me it had closed. When my group got there we were all kind of thinking of leaving because the parking lot felt kind of wired. I think thats just because it was empty. But when we got there another person came in we let them order first. It started to get a little more busy while we were there. The lady at the register was so nice! She helped us decide what to get. And when she heard of my friend possibly being allergic to the breading she had she came up and offered an alternative for her but she said she was okay (because the possible allergic reaction wasnt life threatening.) but she gave suggestions for next time. She and another employee came to make sure everything was good which the food phenomenal! And we got to go boxs as well as to go drinks no problem! This is Definitely is a place to try! Theres also bar a bar and grill and something else behind it as well for another adventure! I got a burger and half french fries half tatter tots and my friend got onion rings and fries with hers which I ended up eating. I definitely will be back in the future! I hate giving such poor reviews, but I really want Mooney burger to work on these issues so they can make it. My daughters kid Burger had silver streaks in it like frost burn and when I broke in half it looked so frozen and not fresh and tasted horrible when she only had one bite and chose not to eat it, I did not even make her or try to convince her to eat. My burger tasted average with very little flavor. The only thing good about it was the bun, and even then it was oversized for the size of Patty it was covering. Would never go back even if the price was half the cost. I think that they need to go to a more fresh way of doing things. I also want to say that the environment, even though it was clean, it felt a little awkward dated and not lively. I really hope you guys make it. I will be willing to come in and try again in three months If changes have been made otherwise I most definitely won t be returning as there are many great places to eat at I would be happy to spend my hard earned money. The fries were very brown and look like they should ve been crispy and slightly overcooked but instead they were very soggy and soft with grease in the middle. We did not eat even quarter of our fries and I did not enjoy them. Was just trying to ge t full as this meal was just filler in my opinion.

Ordered take out. We were really excited to find a place that has fried mushrooms, fried pickles and mozzarella sticks. Unfortunately they were all over cooked especially the mushrooms. The burgers were ok. Overall very disappointing experience. The staff at the counter was very nice. The cook however needs to pay better attention or use a timer. Didnt notice how overcooked the sides were till we got home. This order was picked up on fathers day for lunch. Inside there was only one family inside so they were not busy. Havent decided if we will go back and give them a second try.

The burgers were thin but really good. The prices were high for how little meat was on the burger The people working were very nice. The reason I have to give this place a one star review is due to the rotten expired ketchup. I literally threw up. I ve never had rotten ketchup in my life and never want to again. Rotten ketchup sitting in bottles on the table while you eat is deserving up one star at the very least. Edit: As you can see below the owner doesn t take responsibility for rotten foods consumed by their customers. I can assure you I didn t wake up that day thinking I m going to accuse a business of serving me rotten ketchup LOL. Ketchup can definitely take awhile to rotten and moon burger s definitely let s their ketchup and who knows what else go beyond that time period. Trash!

I ordered a pick-up through DoorDash, carefully selecting my items and preferences. Upon receiving the notification that my order was ready, I went to the store to pick it up. When I arrived, the worker who handed me my food yelled at me, stating that I should never choose the rush order option because the store does not prioritize orders and processes them as they are received. I explained that this was an option available on their website, to which she rudely responded that it was DoorDash s problem, not theirs. Her behavior was extremely rude, unprofessional, and impolite. I felt mistreated and humiliated, which is the last thing I expected from a reputable restaurant. Being screamed at while picking up my order was a deeply upsetting experience. This incident has left me very disappointed and I will not be returning.

Decided to place an order for pick up for dinner tonight. We called 7 times before finally getting someone to answer and when she did, she seemed less than thrilled to be speaking to anyone and had a bit of an attitude. After picking up our food, we get home to soggy and bland fries, obviously old and stale chips, and burgers that are definitely not what they used to be. I really don t leave reviews often but after reading some of these other reviews, it seems like I m not the only one that is extremely disappointed with how this location is ran.

Feeling very let down by Moonie catering. My work hired them for our annual appreciation lunch today. The burgers were a disappointment the patties seemed to be the kind you get frozen in a bag from Sams club and not the ones I remember when dining inside. And on top of that we have one employee who is Gluten intolerant and they said they had Glutne free buns... low and behold her bun was whole wheat and she is now suffering the consequences of Gluten contamination. On top of that they never informed us that it would have to be picked up even though our coordinator talked to them multiple times in the month leading up to our event. Dietary restrictions: Not Gluten free bun...when told they offered Gluten free buns. They were not Gluten free.

This place is embarrassingly bad for service with families who have members who have special needs or Nero diversity issues. I called them to let them know I am bringing a large party to eat. I explained to them that I have a special needs son who has a very limited spectrum of food he will eat and that they do not have anything on the menu that he will consume. They said (and I can t freaking believe them) that he not could bring any food in. That is shameful and I am pissed and will NEVER eat there again. I will not bring anyone there ever again. I half tempted to do a news article and this. Get with the times and update your policies to be Nero diversity friendly. This is going to cost them money as they have no already lost an 8 person dinner and I will NEVER spend a dime for a place that is shameful like this. *World Traveler Review What A *GEM* - Great Atmosphere, Folks, and Food! We were greeted by what SEEMED like the Owner (energetic, happy, and fan of their foods) but turned out that she just worked there. Talk about Culture?! We ordered Teriyaki Chicken w Pineapple Sandwich w/ Tots and Sweet Potato Fries (yep, they let you SPLIT between two different sides!) Chicken was perfectly cooked and they brought an extra plate (splitting) to share. (Service ) The sides were also fried perfectly. The place was retro-looking with rock music playing softly. Little arcade for kids and great front porch. (road noise aside) Definitely recommend this location - great authentic cooked meal awaits! Parking: Easy parking on flat lot. This was our first time and it was just unorganized. The interior is older but that s ok. What wasn t ok is the older woman working, loud and short with customers. My husband put money into the jar because he thought it was a tip jar (to be nice) and the older woman told him none of them get that money it all goes to the owner. She just acted like she would rather be a million other places than working there. My husbands burger was pretty good but my Philly cheesesteak smelled and tasted burnt due to the grilled onions being completely black (I wouldn t order that again). Half our tables food came out quickly and half took a lot longer. My daughter ordered a large margarita on the rocks they brought her a small and when they told the older woman she snapped back no you ordered a small which when they ordered it they said a large. I really never leave these sort of reviews, but I m blown away at how I was just treated by the lady taking orders at the front. My 1.5 year old son has extremely severe food allergies, which is why I have to ask what is inside the different foods, to make sure, 100% he doesn t come into contact with his allergens. She was very clearly irritated at the amount of items I asked about. Ended with her saying for the 4th time, no there s not eggs in this . I explained to her that I had to ask about every item, because unfortunately, eggs could literally kill him. I ve never had someone be so flippant and not understanding at a restaurant about a food allergy situation. I m sure she s never dealt with it herself, but if you re going to work I m the food industry, you should probably take food allergies more seriously. Burgers were great! And maybe she was having a bad day, but wow.

I ve been coming to moonies for about 3 years now and up until now I ve had pretty great experiences! However today was the worst it s ever been and sadly I don t think it will ever be the same. I was slightly embarrassed today after bragging to my friend on how great this place was! Safe to say we were both disappointed. One of the reasons I love this place, so much is because it used to have a very old classic feel to it. When we walked in today. I asked for a table for two and the lady at the front slightly rudely informed me that they no longer do that. Which is fine. I have no problem placing my order paying and then getting up whenever I need some thing. I was just kind of sad that this place has moved to more of a self service kind of feel. The food also wasn t very great, but it did come out fast so that s a plus. I was bragging to my friend that this place has the best burgers! But today they were very greasy and flavorless. My guest actually commented on how she kept expecting the burger to have more flavor but every bite left her with disappointment. (We both ate about 1-4 of our burger and fries and ended up leaving without taking it to go) Environment- the older lady who took our order was at the front and very loud the whole time. She kept walking in and out of the building yelling at people in the parking lot. And if we weren t the only people in the business we may not have heard her. But it was dead in there and we could hear every little thing! The place was also kind of dirty me and my guest used paper towels to handle the ketchup bottle and salt and pepper shakers. They were covered in grease! I was surprised because we were the only people in there. I figured they would spend their downtime cleaning and making sure the establishment was ready for guests. Over all I was very disappointed and incredibly sad! I used to love this mom and pop shop feeling restaurant. Now I feel as if I have no choice but to find a new place I call home for my burgers.

Save your time and money! Went this afternoon while there was only 3 other families. Put in our order at 3, 3 burgers and a quesadilla. 40 minutes later had my husband check on the order. In 40 minutes didn t get one engagement with our waitress since she took our order and our waitress said she doesn t know why but she didn t put it in. We ended up getting our order very late, she overcharged us and they messed up our order, had to get it to go because we were running late. SO DISAPPOINTED! Will never be back! Go to Sharks burgers or Majors instead! Reply to owner the waitress half-apologized, she had to put in the order a second time which is the one you are stating took 15 minutes DID YOU NOT READ, she didn t put our first order in which is the one we waited almost an hour before we went to check on the order. Weve been going to Moonies in Cedar Park for 15 years and loved it...THIS NEW LOCATION IS A DIFFERENT STORY. We arrived and we told sit anywhere. 20 minutes later we had to remind the staff we were still there, 10 minutes later we were brought our menus. Placed our food order and order mozzarella sticks appetizer, DO NOT ORDER THESE, ours were burned and all the cheese was melted out so they were just hollow breading shells...again staff could not be flagged down. After an hour waiting for our burgers I walked up to the makeshift unfinished plywood counter to let them know weve been waiting for an hour. To my surprise I was told our order was never placed. We told them we needed to our food boxed up and well take it to go. We were there at this point over 2 hours and after being served unedible appetizers and literally were forgotten about TWICE we thought a discount or comp was nessasary... NOPE, full price! Things happen in the kitchen which I understand but the staff had a attitude like we were bothing them the whole time. I was shocked with Moonies disregard for taking any responsibility for horrible service! Best advice I can give is get your food to go! This is a old Mexican restaurant with florescent medical grade lighting mixed with garage sale funiture and decor making for cringy dinning experience.

After eating at Moonies s for over six years, we unfortunately will not be going back. Many of the staff at this new location are very rude, including the manager, who came over to our table and yelled at us because we asked for the music to be turned down a little bit, and because it took, a conversation with the waitress to order our burgers and fries à la cart instead of the expensive platters they have on the menu. The manager came over and got mad at us because we were discussing how we wanted to order with the waitress. The waitress wasn t even upset. She was smiling the whole time and even gave us a good suggestion how to save a little money. What kind of places is this?

I used to eat at Moonies Burgers in Cedar Park. This is my first and last time to ever eat at the Leander location. When I got home, my wife s burger was raw. My chicken sandwich was Burnt and hard. Called and talk to the manager, she told me her son eats them all the time and there s nothing wrong with it. It s raw! She said she would give us a voucher for another meal. If you get a to-go order make sure they dont forget your drink. Both times Ive gotten food to-go here they wont give you your drink because of the way they print their receipts. Ive had to argue with staff and show them my online receipt to prove that I ordered a drink. They need a new system for ensuring customers actually receive what they pay for. Today I had someone else pick up my order and did not receive any of the drinks we paid for. The onus should not be on the customer to ensure their orders are fulfilled correctly. I have not had this issue at the other location on Anderson Mill.

Im currently on a carnivore diet which means that I only eat meat, eggs and some cheese. I ordered a bacon cheese burger with a fried egg and in spite of me requesting for the egg to be soft cooked (it came out well cooked), the meal was VERY DELICIOUS. My only complaint was that the plastic knife I was given to eat my burger in a bowl was completely unable to cut the bacon. Here in Leander things close really early. We showed up 15 minutes to close and were going to order to go but the gentleman insisted that we sit. Its unfortunate that this location replaced the original. I frequented the original when it opened and I know for a fact the customer service and quality has gone downhill. I still enjoy the food though it seems the patties are smaller than they once were. The customer service is what left a bad taste in my mouth. The past two times Ive gone I had to stand at the front for about 10 minutes before being seated (other locations you order at the front and seat yourself). After waiting I was sat with my two young sons. The waitress provided three adult menus. I asked if she had any kinds menus and she brought back only one and no crayons which was really the main reason my kids wanted it. I didnt want to ask for anything else because each time the waitress doesnt come back for about 20 minutes. Despite this, we spent a collective half hour there and the waitress never returned to take our order. This is the last of many times we have experienced this kind of poor service. Frys were stale, tasted like they had been sitting under a heat lamp for a couple hours. I understand I could have asked for new ones, but I was on lunch and didnt have the time considering I had to drive to Moonies, eat and then drive back. The cook should have known or noticed before bringing them out. The Blue Moon burger was okay. Beef was cooked to heck but atleast it wasnt dry. Blue cheese was a nice addition to a burger I had not tried before. Bacon was crispy and juicy. The bun was shredded and falling apart on the bottom and the top bun was smashed down. Service was the highlight. Gentlemen came and asked if I was okay or if I needed anything numerous times. The person who brought my food put however was a little off putting. He has on floral print hoodie with the hood up, wouldnt hae guessed he worked here if he hadnt of brought me my food. However, his tone was friendly and he was polite. A down side was just the tip on principal. Recommending what a tip should be twice(on the receipt and at the checkout card-machine) is just predatory to me. If I could have just given a tip to the man who was coming to check on me and my meal, I would have done that since he was nice.

Genuinely very bad. I think my experience here was no joke the worst hamburger I have ever eaten at a restaurant. Incredibly thin, dry patty that looks like it was reheated in a microwave, ignored both of our meals asking for no tomatoes, and all the toppings were shoved onto one corner of the burger like it was thrown together at light speed. I ve eaten at Moonie s a lot, mostly when they were in Cedar Park. They used to be the best in the area! Their quality has taken a deep dive since then, and we won t continue to eat here. What prompted me to write this review was another bad experience with the Leander location. I made an order online, and the form doesn t make it easy or apparent how to choose to pick up your order at a specific time, rather than having it be made right away. By the time my order was finalized, I realized that I never had the opportunity to ask for it to be made at a later time. I called the store immediately to ask if they could wait to make my food until later and I was really surprised to hear the employee tell me that they would this one time, but not to expect them to accommodate me in the future. That rubbed me the wrong way since it seems like a pretty reasonable ask, but I shrugged it off and asked for it to be made so I can pick it up at 7:30 and the employee confirmed that they would wait to make my food Well, I get a text around 7:00 saying my order is ready. I can t make it to the store until 7:30 so that s when I go to pick it up. I decided I wanted another order of fries in addition to what I ordered, so when I got there, I ordered and paid for some fries to go. I had to wait so long for those fries, I wish I hadn t ordered them in the first place. One home, we dig into our food and it s just not appetizing at all. It s cold. The jalapeños aren t grilled like they used to be, just raw, and the black bean patty is just crumbling apart. The bun is soggy, having had way too much time to absorb all of the sauce. The burger basically just disintegrates in my hand. Not sure what the deal is with the new location. The old Moonie s used to have a great rating, like high 4s. This new one has 3.6 and now I know why. Save your money and time and eat somewhere else.

I had a terrible experience with the customer service at Moonies Burger in Leander, Texas. The staff members showed no hospitality, simply glancing at customers without offering any assistance or a welcoming attitude. Communication between the three staff members and the person delivering food was non-existent. My order was given to other customers, and I received the wrong food. It was the worst management Ive ever witnessed. Even while I was eating, new customers were treated with the same unpleasantness. They were not seated or welcomed properly. Close to closing time, a customer was even refused seating because the staff claimed they would be closing in 20 minutes. Considering its just a burger place, 20 minutes should have been enough time. In my opinion, its clear that the employees here have no intention of improving. I strongly advise avoiding this place and choosing the Dairy Queen across the street instead.
