Me and my boyfriend have come here twice to look at the guns. We are both 20 and not quite old enough to buy, but my boyfriend really loves guns and wants to buy one as soon as he turns 21. He is super good with them always safe and quite knowledgeable. (He s liked them since he was a kid). So we come here to look at a potential first gun for him. Both times we have come we are treated absolutely horrible. The first time we went we were in the gun vault, we were asked for our id s which is fine we gave them. Though after he gave them back he never left. He stared at us and it felt like he was breathing down our necks. I got uncomfortable so I excused myself. My bf came out shortly after and told me the guy berated him about how he was doing everything wrong. (Holding, aiming etc). We then left. 2 months later we go again. We go to the counter this time my bf asks if he can look at a gun. The guy gives us an un-interested stare and with a rude tone asks. Do you have your id? My bf says yes then he says then go make a request at a machine (lazily points in a direction) the crazy thing is a middle aged man walks up to the counter to ask the same thing. All smiles, how can help you sir? Like what? So your ageist? But that not even the highlight. My bf noticed some bands they put on the end of the guns. I m guessing to label or mark them. Anyway he thought they were cool. And wanted one to put on a BB gun he had. So we asked if they had extras and that we were willing to pay if needed. What were we asked do you have an id? My bf presented it (my bf is not from here. Hes from Honduras.) So he presents his id. It says his age and name and of course that he s from Honduras. The guy just looks at us. And says he can t expect it and asked for a drivers licenses. Which my boyfriend didn t have. I sigh loudly and say I have one. Oh no we can t expect that. And then I lost it I said: what you can t except my if so I can get a rubber band!? He goes oh a rubber band my bad. (He looks at my bf) and says it must have been lost in translation. What translation? My bf speaks perfect English with barely any accent. As a white girl I have never experienced prejudice like that. And I hate using the race card but like wtf? A word to cabellas staff: we are your next generation. The people who will be buying guns from yall in the generations to come. You might wanna try to be nicer to us. It s safe to say that we won t be buying his first gun here. The light and joy he has when he talks and geeks out on guns always diminishes when we go here. I hate it and I won t be back ever.

Worst experience ever going this store this time. Bluegreen vacation are super pushy to were they just pissed me off. Gave the BS $199 price and then wouldnt even give the brochure. I literally asked for it 5 times until I walked away. She kept saying we will give a brochure with the receipt. I went there to shop for labor day not get scammed into a BS vacation.

Would be a zero if that was an option. My wife purchased a firearm online at this store since we would be in the area. We live 3.5 hours away. Upon arrival she presented the gun counter staff her CHL and Drivers Licence. She was given a laptop to fill out Form 4473 per store policy even though Federal law does not require dealers to conduct a background check if a firearm purchaser presents a state permit to purchase or possess a firearm. Handgun license holders in Texas are exempt from the federal background check requirement when purchasing a handgun as this has already been completed. Meaning, you took the required training, passed a written test and practical assessment, you submitted the application forms and your fingerprints and you were approved. We have no problem following the store policy though and she fills out the form. After she was done the employee ask her to review the form with him to ensure everything was accurate and spelled correctly. The employee then told her he wouldnt accept her CHL because on the form she put her middle name (as directed) and on her CHL it doesnt have her middle name. Mind you she had both IDs on the counter. Same picture, same Drivers License #, her middle name clearly on her Drivers License. He insist he has to run the check at this point. When I asked him if she could just remove her middle name he said no. When I asked if she had spelled it incorrectly would she be allowed to change it he said yes. I asked him to make that make sense and was met with a blank stare. So he runs it and it of course initiated a hold. Since it was a Friday, that could potentially mean Thursday before she was free to take the firearm she had already paid for. Again we live 3.5 hours away. The whole thing was ridiculous. We asked for our money back, which was initiated, but no one could tell us how long that would take for us to actually see the refund. I will never spend another dollar at any Bass Pro Shop.

I RETURNED WITH MY WIFE TO PURCHASE THIS FIREARM TODAY AND SHE WAS THEN FLAGGED BY MY NAME AND THEY WOULDNT LET HER PURCHASE THE FIREARM ON HER CHL. THIS IS RIDICULOUS!!!! CONDISIDERING THE CHL IS TO PROCEED WITHOUT A BACKGROUND CHECK. PRETTY SURE THE FBI/GOVERNMENT HAS OUR INFORMATION ALREADY!! BEWARE OF THIS SITUATION WHEN TRYING TO PURCHASE FROM THIS COMPANY UNLESS YOU WANT A HOLD UNABLE TO PURCHASE FOR 30+ DAYS. WILL NOT BE DOING BUSINESS HERE ANYMORE.

The atmosphere was noticeably calm. Plenty of employees are just about tripping over each other to be helpful. I am a novice fisherman and never felt I was being up-sold. I was drawn to the shiny gear and was instructed after I gained some experience that I may want to invest. The staff tailored my needs based on my goals, knowledge, and experience, and did so in a way I understood and felt respected. Fantastic experience and look forward to shopping there again.

I ve always had great experiences coming to this place, but today was different I walked in just to look at ammo then all of a sudden I m sucked into a bluegreen vacations trap. They were pressuring me into purchasing one of their $199 deals and wouldn t let me walk away after explaining I don t have the funds to do so. They were very polite, but so pressuring trying to make me purchase now now now. I didn t come into the store for a vacation or timeshare whatever. I m there to spend my money on outdoor supplies from bass pro and have a pleasant time looking around.

My husband and I went to get a fishing license here, and it was his first time ever in a Bass Pro. All of the employee interactions we had were terrible. Right away we were bombarded with a man at the front trying to sell us a credit card and after several times telling him we weren t interested he lost all friendliness toward us. We went to the counter to get a fishing license and the woman working was incredibly short with us and frankly very rude. Finally after we bought the license we walked around the store for a bit and we were then confronted by another employee talking about a special, limited-time vacation package and she wouldn t take no for an answer. When we asked for a brochure to look over so we could think about it, of course she wouldn t give us anything without paying $200. I was shocked at how incredibly pushy both of the employees were and it made me very uneasy the rest of the time we were in the store because I was just waiting for someone else to pop out from behind the corner accosting me with another amazing deal . I understand that it is the employee s jobs to talk about these offers and quite frankly my complaints are not with them, it s with the corporate people pushing these credit cards and deals . Absolutely no one wants to go into a place of business and be bombarded like that. It left an awful taste in our mouths and we will not be returning.

This was a Cabelas. I guess its the Bass Pro Shop. I may not have been in the store as a Bass Pro Shop. But I do have some experience with Bass Pro Shop. Im sure the store is unique like the other stores. If youve never been, they have everything. This is a one-stop shopping center. The one I did go to the staff was great. Everybody was super knowledgeable. I was looking for some hard to find ore locks. To put in my grandfathers old 10 foot v bottom aluminum boat. Dont have him anymore, but I had his boat. They helped me find the ore locks, I was shocked to have them in stock. Spent today at a little lake. I caught nothing. And I remembered why I didnt like to row that boat in the first place. It had probably been five years since me and my pawpaw went fishing last when I took his boat out. It brought back a lot of memories. Im Thankful for Bass Pro Shop for that. It also brought a lot of pain in my arms and shoulders, Im not as young as I used to be. It was still a great day. I dont know if any of the pictures are accurate to any of the things in the store. But I would like to leave them on here. I think they are interesting. If there is a problem, please remove them. If you cant. Ill try to check this and if you left me a message. I will remove them. I went in with a shopping list to get my first set of saltwater fishing gear. One of the gentlemen in the fishing dept was exceptionally knowledgeable about fishing and helped me tune my list, find the gear, get it set up, and teach me a cast for beach fishing. Ill definitely be going back as more gear needs arise.

I went there today to buy a sightmark bore sighter and there was an open box along with unopened and I chose the open package because the sales clerk said that it had been opened in the store and there was nothing wrong and they gave me a discount of $5. I got it home and it was not opened at the store it had been opened at someones home and the batteries were mixed matched and dead. It cost me $16 for a new set of. I dont like being especially when it cost me money and a 40 mile round trip from Galveston to the store and back. Will I get any reimbursement for this I doubt it

I went to buy a belt a belt, and the employees were great I was in a big hurry they helped me find one and get out ASAP. The only complaint I would have is the selection and sizes where kinda empty in my size. The belt I selected was a tan 511 belt that is good and thick and well made. My size is a 32 waist. My selection was very limited. If I were a 42 waist, there would have been all the styles and colors. Seems like that is on the order buyers end. I run into that a lot. Actually, they never have my size. I wear a 44 jacket and 32 waist, which makes it difficult.

Went the week of Christmas and they were swamped. I had a firearm to pickup and I love that they have a qr you scan to hold your place in line. They call you in the intercom once it s your turn. I had a really nice older gentleman help me. He even gave me pointers on how to use my firearm. I love that they hire veterans. They have a huge selection of firearms! 10 out of 10 on service and inventory

Don t ask for Zach he s got better stuff to do than assist customers, he said any products your looking for just look online after halfass looking for a product I was searching for. According to the customer service reps the sales Ad are false advertising and they just put random products on it to bait and trap. Before some rando leaves a sorry for your experience we will let management know I ve contacted corporate and expecting a call back. Highly doubt I ll hear back from anyone if this lack of effort and accountability reaches all the way to the top.

Firearms area is ridiculous. They dont acknowledge you or tell you you must sign in to a kiosk to get any help. Lost a gun sale after waiting 45 mins of nothing. Look at the tons of reviews about the gun section, its true. Customer service is non existent.

Customer service at the gun counter needs major improvement! I liked it better when it was Cabelas. My two sons and I waited over 46 minutes at the gun counter, no one acknowledged us, no one said well be right with you, no one advised us that we needed to now use a kiosk to sifn in! Which I guess this is new since Bass Pro Shop took over. All they had to do was tell us Hi please sign in and we will be with you shortly. And honestly if they would have just greeted us I wouldnt have been so upset. Just overall very disappointed especially since this was my Families go to place for our gun and ammo purchases.

Took an old compound bow in to get setup for the wife. Met Mason in the archery shop. Could not think of a better experience for someone new to the hobby. In just a few minutes he had the bow sorted out, gave her some quick pointers and had her on target. Spot-on advice paired with an awesome demeanor and encouraging words meant leaving that shop with not just a well sorted bow, but new found confidence to get to practicing!

Yesterday I brought my pistol in to see if I can transfer it from one FFL to another. After waiting 5 minutes for a gun runner , someone finally arrives. He says how can I help you and I said that I needed to transfer this firearm to another FFL dealer. He said we don t do that! I said okay, do you know somewhere around here that does FFL transfers? He said The police station and at that point I realized I was dealing with an ignorant and lazy 50 year old man who thought he knew everything. I called Texas Gun Club in LC and explained to them everything I went through at cabelas and what I was trying to do. She immediately let me know that I don t have to take it to a police station and that they do FFL transfers. This man at cabelas is the reason why I don t shop there anymore. Don t ever make a customer feel stupid for seeking out help. While I was at the counter, another individual was trying to get a super combo license and the woman wouldn t say yes sir or no sir to him, answered him in one word sentences with no eye contact and he was visiting from another state so he had no idea what license to get. Terrible service here, it may not be everyone because I ve met some individuals who will actually talk to you respectfully but Cabelas needs to weed out the ones who are there for in store discounts. I wish I knew the gun runners name. He was tall with barely any hair, 40-50 years old. I will go anywhere for hunting or fishing supplies besides Cabelas and I grew up loving this store, driving an hour to the location in Katy when I was younger. I ve spent tens if thousands of dollars on trading guns here in and out of the library. Not anymore. To to Texas Gun Club for simple FFL gun transfers and buying a gun online to pick it up at TGC!

If you want to go and shop, look around a bit...dont. We were approached 4xs within 15 minutes of employees trying to sell whatever they were selling - not offering help in finding anything. Its very annoying.

It is always a pleasure visiting this location. The staff are highly knowledgeable, FFL transfers are a breeze, and everyone is so kind, professional, and helpful. My only complaint is their gun collection is dangerous. They could easily cost you your marriage, or at least a night in the dog house if you dont stay away from the gun section. Haha

This place has really gone down hill with the customer service. I ve come in a handful of times with the intent to buy a new hunting rifle. The guys behind the counter would rather play around with the usual guys who show up all the time and want to chit chat about firearms and look at a million things with zero intent on buying vs tending to some one who actually wants to buy something. They seriously need to be taught customer service.
