Food was good, pricey for not terribly large portions. $13-$17 for a plate. Menu consists of no pictures and vaguely described dishes, causes reading errors and it was a surprise what was going to come out chicken shawarma was just chicken and rice rather than a shawarma. Not busy, nice staff, offered student and veteran discount. Beautiful interior. Probably won t return.

I loved my meal (the beef kafta kabob w/rice). I am a rice fanatic and their rice is to DIE FOR!!! I got a second plate of that. The meat was very well done and juicy. I also loved the guava juice. Very refreshing. The garlic dip was alright but I probably wouldnt get it again because it fills me up too much lol.

The locale was in good shape, especially considering the understaffing, though my table was sticky and not as clean as I would have liked. The Food: The food at Petras was well-served, with an appealing presentation and balanced flavors. Every dish we tried was fully cooked and delicious. For a small neighborhood restaurant, the quality of the food was impressive. I particularly enjoyed the Lebanese Tea with lime, which had a refreshing, slightly acidic taste. The prices are competitive compared to other places offering Persian cuisine, making it a good value for the quality of food provided. My final general thought: For a small, neighborhood restaurant with just one staff member managing seven or eight tables, the service was commendable, and the food was tasty and well-presented, served at the ideal temperature. The first thing I noticed entering this cafe was the smell. It smells like stale cigarette smoke. I thought Id give it a chance anyway, and ordered a gyro sandwich to go. Its a really popular item, and I thought even a not-so-good place can produce a decent gyro. But alas, it was not good. The meat was dry, flavorless, and not fresh. Also, I found no fork nor a single napkin in my bag. For $15 I expected way better than I got. Will not be returning.

Nice place and owners. Consistently good food. Edit down from 5 star. They ran a BOGO special for $30 salads that were delivered in small to go boxes with A TINY amount of gyro meat. No way anyone would order this as a $30 salad! The manager, Alexis, was dismissive and sarcastic. Edit again: The owners called me and profusely apologized. Everyone has bad days.

I accidentally ordered online (check #22 for the gyro plate, feta gyro salad, and lamb shank) at the wrong location on Thursday 03/28 at the League city location instead of the Katy location. So I called in to request the order be canceled. The hostess or restaurant manager said she canceled it but I still got charged. I never received an email or text message from Toast confirming the cancelation, and my credit card still got charged. UPDATE: I called in again and the manager took care of the refund. We enjoyed the food and customer service always tries to make things right!

We ordered the Petra Super family menu for Three. We really loved the Juicy Chicken Kabob and the Crispy Falafel bites. We couldn t finish our meze but got Fries as an extra and dipped our dries in the tzatziki. We got the hummus and tzatziki to go. We also had Kofta kebab but it wasn t to our taste. Decided to try this out after reading rave BAHFL reviews and was really disappointed. Pita was stale and probably from a bag. Hummus and rice pilaf lacked flavor. Shawarma was very greasy and the garlic sauce had a gross consistency. The gyro meat had an okay flavor but was slightly undercooked. Very expensive for what we received. They have a lot of options but not a lot of flavor. The gyro was good but the chicken shawarma was dry and bland. We enjoyed the rice and the pita. As for the dip, tzatziki was decent, baba ganouch was no good, hummus and garlic were both good. I think we enjoyed the pickles more than anything else. I would not recommend, unless there are no other options. It might be better in the store but I don t see it making up for what we had.

This was our first time eating here and it was wonderful. Our server, Daria, was so attentive and gave great recommendations. The quality of food was so flavorful and seasoned to perfection. The quantity of food was great. We got our bellies full and enough leftovers for a whole nother meal. And the price was very acceptable considering what we ordered. My husband and I went for dinner one night. I ordered the chicken kabob plate. It came with rice. I asked the server if I could substitute the rice for fresh veggies, which I had seen as an option on another menu item(petra chicken). She said yes. When the meal came, it came with half of a sauted onion and 4 tiny slivers of green bell pepper. I was very disappointed. They said they didnt have other veggies eventhough they have it advertised on the petra chicken. My husband had the shrimp scampi and it was listed under seafood & pasta on the menu which he thought would cone with pasta, but nope. After we brought all this to the servers attention, our service went downhill. We noticed other tables were getting good attentive service and asked if they wanted drink refills & dessert...we didnt get asked and we would have had dessert if asked. Also, we noticed everyone that left before us got a have a good night from the staff, We did not. We passed a couple of Mediterranean places on the way to Cafe Petra, we wont in the future. I love the food here and crave the lentil soup pretty regularly, but the service is always less than satisfactory. The men employees are rude to women customers and the women employees have serious attitude problems. They also need to either adjust the amount of hummus they serve or quit being so stingy with the pita. Half a cup of hummus for one pita is unreasonable. Delightful dinner. I wanted to try something different than a gyro which a lot of people were ordering and seemed to really enjoy. But, i had the chicken schwarma plate that included a salad with feta dressing, a side of hummus and a rice pilaf. My friends had the beef kafta kabob and shrimp kabob. They were cooked on skewers but not served on them. Everything was delicious and the hummus was so good with the warm soft pita bread. Clean, great service and average dinner prices. They added a nice touch with a simple yet unique decor to match the cuisine. Murals, tea sets and pretty light fixtures. A must try for something different and supports local business!

We came here for dinner tonight and ordered the family super meal. When I got home I overlooked the menu again and realized that a few things were wrong with our order. We didnt get any dolma and our meal was supposed to come with falafel included but it was added as one of our protein choices instead. I was looking for a change from the normal places I go to around my house. When I get takeout I normally get Mexican food, Chinese food, seafood or Vietnamese food. We always seen post about this place on our Bay Area Food Lovers Facebook group but we never had the chance to give it a try until today oh My let me tell you The food was delicious like really really good delicious, and the service was really good also you cannot leave this place without trying their Baklava it was amazing. We will definitely be coming back.

First time trying this type of food and lets just say it will be my last. They were very busy its probably wonderful food but (in my opinion) it tastes like dirt smells. I had some type of chicken salad . The pita bread was okay but it had some type of gritty sand type of stuff on it. Maybe its supposed to be like this, Im not sure. So I couldnt give an honest review because I dont know what this type of food is supposed to taste like. This is just my experience with this particular restaurant.

The chicken was dry I wish there was a sauce or something besides the hummus to dip it in. The pickles were way too expensive when you get a bunch of cut up pickles. The only thing I really enjoyed was the hummus and pita (which they don t give you a large portion with your meal). I probably won t order here again just because the main course wasn t spectacular and was pricey. The place was just too expensive for mediocre food.

Love this place. Great and timely food service. Perfect for a work day lunch because they serve your dish fairly quickly. Delicious! I was happy to have plenty of leftovers to take home for dinner! Will definitely go again!

Absolutely fantastic! Food is excellent and Moath was exceptional considering he was on his own, with a constant swarm of people coming in to sit down and eat... and to go orders lined up! Highly recommend and once again, Moath is a Rock Star! Great job!

The food here is so good! If you want a mix of Middle East/Mediterranean with a small twist of West, definitely come here. Im a huge fan of their appetizer salad (no idea what sauce they use, but its really good!). The kofte and gyros are solid here as well. Service can be a little slow, but its because the food is an A.

Have only visited this place on a handful of times and even though a bit pricey never minded paying it because the quality has been outstanding, but was disappointed my last visit which was on a Friday evening and the gyro combo was very disappointing as this gyro meat was very dry and for $24.99 was definitely not worth the money I m afraid ! Mr gregory has always been very welcoming just hope this was a one off !

We are so happy we found Cafe Petra. Everything was amazing ! We had the combo dip with pita (the garlic dip is the best weve had), the combo kabob plate and the Petra sandwich with shawarma. The feta salads were delicious. We ended with the delicious chocolate cake and amazing Turkish coffee. Service was wonderful too !!! We will definitely be regular customers !!! Parking: Plenty of parking, we arrived at 5pm and had no problem finding a good parking spot.
