If you like your Japanese food to be Chinese, this is the place for you. Theyve got new management and they stripped out the 99% of the Japanese menu and replaced it with a Chinese menu. I have no idea why they would advertise this restaurant as a Japanese restaurant when their menu is almost entirely Chinese. I used to come here because they had an amazing Chicken Katsudon, but they got rid of it along with the sushi, yakisoba, udon, etc.

My family of 3 has been here twice and each time it was great. Waited said it only gets busy on Saturdays. After living in Japan for the past 3 years I can honestly say the food here is pretty good. The service is quick and most importantly it is not expensive. We ordered what I thought would ve been 75$ but came out to 55$. It is our favorite sushi spot right now.

Got takeout from here and was extremely disappointed. I always choose Sapporo for their mackerel sushi as I usually love the quality, but this is the last time Ill order from here. The fish was bad quality and left a very weird flavor in your mouth, not the usual fattiness that comes with mackerel. I called and asked them if they could do at least a partial refund and they said all they could offer was a 10% discount on the next order. The only thing I order from here is mackerel, if that isnt good then why would I order again and risk paying $4 a piece?! Also 10% is not worth coming back, save your money and go to Ichibon.

They confirmed my Togo order, I came to pick it up at the time they slotted me. They did make my order, they apologized. It was not busy they just forgot. They said they bring my food out to the car since I had my baby with me. I waited and they never brought my good out. I had to call and they said its ready. I had to get it. I will never order from this place again. Workers are useless

Just really did not like this place. Several items on the menu were not avaliable, orders were brought incorrectly and the poor kid serving us just had no clue. I usually refrain from leaving bad reviews but when you spend this much on dinner, I expected way more from a restaurant than I got here. Sorry, do not recommend.

My wife and I have had several great meals here. We ve eaten lunches and dinners. I strongly recommend going. Our last eaten there was fantastic. We did have a young completely untrained server. Although polite he didn t have a clue about his job. This is a great restaurant. We won t let new wait staff keep us away. Wheelchair accessibility: Available and adequate.

Tried this place for the first time and the food is pretty good. I would say the prices are reasonable too. I had chicken lo mein which was very good along with hot and sour soup. The soup was good, but it doesnt have a strong hot and sour taste the way it should taste. It was more of savory broth taste, but still good.

I LOVE their food but their customer service sucks. I like to order ahead, but their online menu doesnt have the tiger eye roll on the lunch roll combo. I told an employee at the register that and she just stared at me like I was crazy. Please fix your online menu and Ill fix my review.

We had a group of 8 celebrating a birthday and Kalyn took great care of us. I was there early and had a cupcake to be presented at the end of dinner. They did a wonderful job, decorated the plate and lighting the candle I d brought. Extra special service. Quality food, beautiful presentation and not crowded. Definitely a must visit! Nice wine selection and happy hour price. We enjoyed everything from spring rolls, dumplings, special rolls, sashimi (very fresh and meaty hamachi) and bento boxes and there was nothing left over. The tempura batter was light and not greasy. The rolls were ample! We shared some tastings and Henry s signature special scallop appetizer, fried spring rolls, Gyoza pork dumplings and the Hot Mama and Caterpillar rolls were my fave. My nephew raved about the Shumai. Again, great experience from the time you walk in to the time you leave! Note: settle up for happy hour pricing during happy hour.

The waitress messed up on our order 3 times and my 2 kids had to wait for over an hour to get their sushi after the parents got their sushi,. My husband s order was put in incorrectly but he just ate it bc it was already made and didn t want to trouble them. My younger child s order (smelt Roe sushi) came in about 30 minutes after the parents order. When order finally came, they had incorrectly put in the order as Salmon Roe (even though we corrected and pointed at smelt roe menu item when she read/confirmed what we just ordered). After trying to tell us that the Salmon Roe was Smelt Roe and us showing her a google photo of what smelt roe looks like and after her asking an experienced waitress which roe we ordered (in which experienced waitress said what she brought out was not the smelt roe) She finally apologized and had to reorder the smelt roe. That took another 30 minutes of younger child waiting to get the food. They also forgot my older child s sushi, we all finished eating and her sushi was still not ready. We had to ask about the order and then it took another 30 minutes to come out. We were sitting there, all done eating and even shared our food with the kids, waiting for their food. Haven t had horrible service like this in a long time. Sapporo has mediocre sushi and quality of fresh sushi is not great., Not worth the $$ or ever coming back. I will stick to Masa Sushi in Friendswood next time, where service and food quality are beyond excellent!

Had lunch with a friend the other day. Great service, friendly & fast. I had the Vegetable Hibachi lunch special with a salad, I requested no rice with my entree and they were nice enough to give me even more veggies! The food was good, I like the salad dressing, and I liked the sauce that came with my stir fried veggies. My friend had a Sushi Roll lunch combo, and she enjoyed her Salmon Roll and Shrimp Roll with a salad. Reasonably priced, clean, and attentive staff.

This restaurant was good when it opened about a year ago but the food quality and service has gone done rapidly. The service in particular, which is a non negotiable for me. I can accept the food not always being what I expect now and then. Maybe I expect too much. But rude and/or poor service is unacceptable. I asked to be seated in a particular location today and both hostesses were very rude to my wife and I so I politely decided that this was not where my money would be spent. I ordered a hibachi meal, from a regular table. The vegetables were physically cool to the touch (previously cooked) and honestly appeared to be prepared as if they came from a precut frozen bag) The chicken was obviously cooked on a flat top and forgotten, it was well done and too dry to swallow. I should note, there were only 3 tables of people being served. I returned my dish after having to prove it to the waitress. The same plate was returned, with the same dry chicken pieces, and visibly reheated same vegetables. Chicken was now cold and dry. I returned the plate and requested a fresh meal. I received a like warm version of the same quality meal. I would describe this as something similar to a TV Dinner Entree. Excellent Restaurant, but I dont believe there was a true chef sending out lunch dishes. I was really looking forward to trying them. And I even spent 2 hours of my day, hoping to try something delicious. I hope they can fix the food quality, I really would like to see them do better. In hind sight, 3 tables, at peak lunch time, should have been a warning. Suggest: Stick with the Sushi and Sashimi

Make sure you request Kevin as your waiter. Im sure the other staff is top notch but Kevin went above and beyond for us. My Mother is handicapped and has extensive food allergies. He was ultra attentive and polite. His aura exudes love and respect. I typically tip 10-15% but happily and willingly increased that to 22%. His service was the best Ive had in years and possibly EVER. The food was also 5 star. Would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. To put the icing on the cake, it was under priced if you take into account the quality and freshness of the cuisine. Thanks a million Kevin! Keep doing what your doing and youll have that boat in no time.

After seeing all the great reviews, we decided to try it since I just moved to the area. Ill start with what was off to begin with, although minor, the music when I came up to the restaurant was classical Spanish guitar. Not a big deal, but it was a start of a chain of events. One of the wait staff greeted us and sat us in a booth, a different waiter came over and took our order and we specifically asked for no red pepper on the outside of the spicy tuna and yellow tail rolls. He wrote that down and turned in the order that way. We also ordered a vegetable tempura, which apparently they dont actually have and they charged us for shrimp tempura with no shrimp. Anyway, to the point, the rolls come out and of course they have red pepper all over the outside of them. When I brought it to the owners attention, she said oh they probably just made it wrong. The waiter then informed me that the kitchen staff and the sushi preparers do not speak much English. I am not at all prejudice, however, when you have a Chinese person with a heavy accent, Spanish speaking kitchen staff and English-speaking customers, makes it very difficult. Nonetheless, they remade the rolls and they came out much smaller than they were the first time. Although they did not have pepper on them. We ate our meal and the check came and I noticed that one of the rolls was not on the check. So I thought, as I would at any restaurant where theres a problem, that they took off one roll for the error and our time and inconvenience. I gave the server my credit card and they brought it back,had already run my card, and the total was much higher because the owner put that sushi roll back on my check. First of all, you dont give a customer a check and then charge them more. Second of all customer service is not something they understand. Third, the pricing was too high for the size and quantity and quality of food. About 2 hours after we had eaten we both started to have stomach cramping, which is indicative of not so fresh or not properly maintained temperatures of raw fish. So, Im not sure if this is an anomaly but from what Im seeing theres a communication issue there is a service issue and perhaps a quality of food issue and certainly a quantity issue. I will be looking for someplace else and dont expect that anyone will even respond to this.

The fish was not fresh, my softshell crab smelled bad and tasted off. All of the toppings were thrown on the side instead of on top of the roll. The roll didnt have rice or seaweed. The agedashi tofu did not have an authentic sauce. Gyoza was subpar. Our waiter was overwhelmed because he was the only person there taking orders. The price was too high for the quality of food. Overall didnt have a good or satisfying experience and wont be returning.

I m excited that there are more sushi options being opened near where I live. My family and I went there last night and here are our reviews! We ordered a couple of random things and their menu is so vast that we might have to come back and try more things to be certain! Bobby roll: my sisters personal favorite for the night. She loves it and she does not like spicy tuna. I thought it was okay. It tasted like the shaggy dog roll from other places but with a twist. 4/5. Volcano roll: I was excited for this one because it has crawfish on it! However, the taste is just so so for me. Maybe a lot going on. It wasn t bad but it wasn t impressive either. 3/5. Flaming lip roll: this one was my personal favorite. I love anything seared salmon lol. They did this beautifully. I would come back and order this specifically. 5/5. Tonkotsu ramen: I had a couple bites out of this from my husband and he seems to really enjoy it. I thought it was pretty average. The broth is okay and not too overwhelming. 4/5. Salmon Sushi: about $4 per piece was so expensive! But I can see why when it came out, the pieces were on the thicker side; which is okay, I don t feel like I m being too robbed. Salmon was fresh. Melted in my mouth but the rice was just okay. It was a bit hard. 4/5. It could ve almost been perfect T.T Mackerel Sushi: my husband and I love mackerel sushi. It s pungent and flavorful naturally. However, we did not enjoy Sapporo s take on it. I believe they added a bit of chili garlic oil? I could not comprehend it. The flavors were a bit everywhere and the cut was a bit stale with the slightly hard rice combo. 1/5. Squid Sushi: my husband really enjoyed the squid sushi. It s one of his favorites. He rated that a solid 5/5. Smoke Salmon Sushi: the cut was generous and nice. My husband said there was a sauce on there and he wasn t feeling it but nonetheless smoked salmon itself was tasty 4/5. Overall we had lots of great ones and some we didn t care for. We love the atmosphere and ambiance of this place. It s the perfect place for larger groups for sure. My wife and I came here for the sirst time the other say and had some apps. The atmosphere was nice, the restaurant was clean and our server was pleasant. They have a large menu with a wide variety of items from sushi, to steak, to Ramen and more. We just left feeling that the food quality and flavor did not live up ti the atmosphere, prices and presentation of the food which were all excellent. Based upon the first lunch visit Sapporo gets a good vote. The service was mediocre and the waiter didn t seem to know his way around the menu. He had to go ask questions at least a few times. The sushi bar didn t look inviting to me personally. But the atmosphere was comfortable with a stereotypical Japanese restaurant ambiance. The sushi might be a bit expensive but the food was an overall hit with my family. The menu is a bit more extensive than I ve seen in a while. I had a sushi roll combo which was more than I could eat due to both large pieces and large servings. Although I get tired of imitation crab being an overused, go to ingredient, the rolls were as good as any around. The spicy tuna inside the Orange Dragon roll had a lot more zing than I expected. This was way more heat than a splash of sriracha so be careful! The Bento Boxes with grilled fish, shrimp, tempura and veg looked fairly standard but tasted great! I didn t taste the spring rolls but my daughter wanted me to go back that evening for more of them. We ll for sure go again.

Finally tried this place and it was a wonderful experience! Prices are very reasonable and they have a big menu with a great happy hour! Lots of speciality sushi rolls to choose from. Amazing service too!!! Definitely going back.

As a person who loves Japanese cuisines, this restaurant exceeded my expectations. The atmosphere was very pleasing to experience, there were traditional Japanese styled tables that fit the theme of the restaurant very well. I felt that the staff here were very respectful, it showed me they were devoted to their job. The food here is amazing! Every single bite led to a burst of flavor. The bento boxes satisfied me as I ate it bite by bite. The sushi they serve are also very delightful. Overall, the food here is amazing and for a decent price. I definitely recommend having a meal here.

This restaurant is amazing! The environment, the people and the food OMG. Carlos who is the sushi tender is a magician. We told him what we liked and he made the best roll we have ever had!! We will be back with more friends. And shout out to the great service as well, thanks Derek!

This place is supposed to be new but the forks are all used looking and old. Then some big tall setver with bad acni and dirty nails took my order. Thank God he was switched with Quang who gave excellent service and was so gracious I tipped him a 10. As a person who grew up Koreans because my Aunty is from Seoal and being apart of Japanese student clubs, sushi is an art. This place is sloppy and need to work on being gracious with high level manners. If we wanted cheap service from some hole in the wall chinese food place, we would go there. Im mot going back. In this industry hospitality is everything. I live down the street but I will not be back.

Amazing food and AMAZING atmosphere! I love the traditional Japanese style tables, although I didnt sit in them. The cat murals were awesome and the food was really good. I miss the honey walnut shrimp from the old restaurant but I love the new one and will definitely be going back.

Ordered, delivery last night. Not impressed. Ikura ( salmon Roe) sushi. Spot on. My spicy Tuna roll. Rice was dried out. Kinda like when Sushi was left in refrigerator of left overs from night before. Chicken fried Rice. Dried out Rice, chicken tasted like microwaved overcooked. Not pleased. Im trying to support local restaurants, but if they arent going to support locals with quality food. Whats the point! I will try again. I give everyone a second chance. Maybe, next time will work out.

Went in especially for the bento box. Very disappointing. Im used to having a variety of different items: maybe a small portion of chicken katsu, a small salad or pickled cucumber, a few pieces of California sushi or maybe spicy crab along with a main dish like tempura something. All this one had was some tempura shrimp, a few veggies and some rice. Server forgot the salad. Meal was not underwhelming, not overwhelming, but just below whelming. There are other restaurants in the area that are better.

Sushi tasted okay but it was very pricey. My sister-in-law got the pink lady roll and it was a pretty good size for the price but mine (cajun roll and Friday roll) were pretty small for the cost. Service was excellent and the place was clean.

My main gripe about most Japanese places in texas. Chicken Teriyak is not made with breast/white meat. Traditionally thigh meat is used.white meat is too dry to make good teriyki. Having said that, the rice and the Sush rolls were good. Loved the Miso soup! Will try something else next time. If ordering a Bento Box at lunch make sure to carify if you want the all day Bento Box that comes with salad and tempura. Over all Ill give it a second chance.

The food was amazing! Fresh! I had the hibachi chicken and it was tasty!! My husband got the Ramen and boy he was loving it! The crab puffs are great as well! The sushi and rolls came out so fast!! Everything was Fresh Fresh! We will definitely be making this place our go to spot!
