This is our first time here. I need a special order cake and had called several places who didnt offer it, but this bakery said they would (4 days before I need it). The bakery has yummy bakery items as well as breakfast and lunch food. The place is quaint and has a small town charm. I plan to come back! Parking: Parking is in the back of the building where theres a back entrance as well.

Went in this morning as a new customer for a togo order. When I walked in, as I was reading the sign, a lady appeared and just stood there. I, being a new customer, asked if they had just regular in store black coffee. She says, What? in a very snarky voice. Yeah, we have house coffee in a very sarcastic voice. Then I said, Can I have one. She said you order over there . Then I go around the corner, and I ask her for the menu, and she goes, the menu is over there. Sherubbeds her eyes and asked the other girl to take my order because obviously I had frustrated her in some way. The other lad, a young Hispanic female, was super sweet and helpful. Now on to the food. I got French toast, and my boyfriend got tacos. Both were not good at all. The tacos were bland, and the tortilla was tough. The French toast, t although it looks promising, was terrible. It was dry cold on the corners and rubbery. With such bad food, the service should be better.

My first time at this location and, sadly, I was underwhelmed. The staff was friendly, however, the French toast was tough and tasteless (even with added strawberries,) and my mocha latte wasnt any better. Just tasted like warm milk. The omlet although pretty good, was just scrambles eggs with a little bit of everything thrown in, and cold toast on the side. I was definitely expecting more for $31.00.

Arrived at 3pm to get a quick cup of coffee and some cake. Place was pretty dead. Went to the counter to order and first thing we where told was kitchen closes at 3pm even though the sign said they closed down at 4pm. No big deal, we came for coffee and dessert, not food. But a hello or welcome would of been nice. Gave our order, 2 coffees and one slice of vanilla cake and one slice of chocolate. Coffee was just under $5 a piece and cake was $7 and some change a piece. So $26 for our order. Waited at a table to get our food, we where one of the only people left at that point but it still took 20 plus mins to get a easy order that did not need to be cooked. Now the real bad. Both pieces of cake where horrible. Dry as can be and hard to swallow. We ate about a third of each piece and could not choke down another bite. Either we received a few day old cake or their cakes are not any good. We did not bother trying to return it or ask for something else because they looked liked they where ready to go and wanting us to leave. I get it but we should of been easy customers to please. So instead of giving this place a decent review on food and service I am just going to say good luck if you want to try this place but for us we will not be going back.

Perhaps we were given one of the display Birthday Cakes instead of a real one? Regardless, we spent $85.00 on what was intended to be a chocolate BIRTHDAY cake, with white buttercream icing and yellow flowers. It was picked up on February 7, 2024 for my birthday the next day. On inspection when we arrived the cake looked very pretty UNTIL the next day when we went to eat it. All I can honestly state is the chocolate cake was very oily (you read that right -OILY) with a taste that was similar to Criscos shortening. The icing was NOT buttercream but rather a blend of Crisco shortening and Dream Whip. In totalality it was not edible at all! To make sure our taste buds were functioning correctly we had our neighbors and three different friends eat a piece and ALL of them had to spit it out onto the paper towel after the first bite. There is something SERIOUSLY amiss in their bakery. Run away dont walk.......if you ever think about purchasing one if their $85.00 Birthday Cakes.

I really wanted to like this place; the food tasted fine, but: We ordered a veggie sandwich and matza ball soup. The matza ball soup was warm and delicious, but super salty. I almost never salt my food and most American foods are too salty anyway, but my wife also thought it was too salty. The veggie sandwich should have been great, it actually tasted okay, but it had almost no veggies on it. It was mostly bread and literally 5 leaves of spinach, 1 extremely thinly sliced tomato, and a few other bits. I ordered avocado ( upcharge 2 USD ) and jalapenos ( upcharge .75 ). If I hadnt had the avocado ( which there was virtually no avocado, maybe two nickel sized pieces ), this sandwich would have been toilet paper thin and probably overwhelmingly bread. They forgot to add the jalapenos.. so okay.. I guess? I asked for the jalapenos.. and was handed a plastic cup with two sliced jalapeno coins that had been diced up. Veggies are cheap, you have to do better than this. Some of the other menu options looked exciting, but overall if youre skimping on vegetables why take the risk on anything else? Parking is in the back, theres a cute book store next door.

I went in there for lunch and ordered an empanada platter, which is one empanada and a salad. I also ordered a Vietnamese iced coffee. The person who took my order mistakenly rang up subbing french toast for the salad. I told her I did not want French toast but she did not remove it from the receipt. I let it slide thinking surely I would get what I ordered. I did not, they brought French toast. The person who brought the food out said she would get salad instead, and took the French toast away, didn t offer to box it up or correct the receipt. I never got the salad. So I paid $18.50 or so for a singular empanada and no salad or French toast. Pretty good empanada and coffee though

The Rustica Club sandwhich was dry as a bone, corn chips were way over cooked, and the brownie with cheese cake topping was 100% disgusting and inedible. Poblano soup taste like a cup of artificial butter. No condiments on the table like salt, pepper, napkins, sugars for tea and coffee keep your dining experience interrupted to get or waiting on what you need. I cant imagine how anyone could destroy a sandwich and a brownie but they certainly managed.

First time buying a cake was for my friends birthday, tom said they could make a custom dirty thirty topper. That morning he called to say he forgot it and left it at home, I end up driving everywhere looking for one and was never able to find one and because it was last minute I couldn t get one off Amazon. I also go that same morning to drop off the flowers for the cake, later that same day when I pick up the cake the flowers are all wilted like they never put them in the fridge so I have to go to H E B to put lively ones on. Second time was for my husbands birthday. I go see it the day before to make sure the cake is how I wanted, they forgot to put happy birthday Brandon so they say it will be on the next day when I pick it up. Next day it is still not on and I have to wait for them to put it on when I m already in a rush. Both times the end result was beautiful and tasted great despite the hiccups so I kept going back. Third time I try to order a custom coast guard cake for someone leaving the unit, I made it clear I need it first thing in the morning and he says I can pick it up at 830am. When I get there they say it was written pickup was at noon and that it wasn t ready, this is no good as my coworker was leaving at 11am. I m livid that I was forced to go to H E B for a last minute cake because they couldn t have it ready. Never going back again, they clearly do not communicate or are organized at all.

Decided to give them another try after a hiatus, we didnt get our chips with our combo meals and the tomato for the house salad was fuzzy with mold. Like, straight up hairy tomato. Also, one of the soups appears to have a partial piece of a bug in it, it definitely had some legs to it. We threw the entire thing out. The empanadas are tasty and may be safe to eat compared to everything else we got. We will not be including this place in our rotation anymore.

Just heat and serve. 5 min, 10 min, 15 minutes go by and not a peep from any of the 6 employees that were working there. 20 minutes in, and nobody attended to us at all. We asked for a refund as we were quite frustrated and they charged us for the tea anyways. There were only 2 other people eating yet they basically forgot we were there. Not our first rodeo with bad service here. Will NOT be coming back! Save your money and time and try other options.

Very kind staff, but I won t be back. I ve been to this location and the one in Friendswood. Both locations struggle with staff it seems but while the other location is able to make up for it with an experienced staff, this location just struggles. PRO S: 1.) LOCATION. This little coffee and baked goods spot is a short walk away from some fun items down the street like the walk-in garden used for wedding shoots and the Big Kahuna ice shave shack. The whole neighborhood feels very cute. 2.) KIND STAFF. That s pretty much it, they are very kind. 3.) BAKED GOODS. This is the one thing I know we ve had was good. CON S: 1.) INEXPERIENCED STAFF. This one feature alone has made us determined to not come back. The staff is too inexperienced and unable to keep up with demand that our orders, however simple they get, are always wrong. The staff always seems more concerned with getting an order out/done then getting it right. 2.) COFFEE? We have yet to have the coffee we ve wanted or ordered so it s hard to make a good judgment here. I m an americano drinker but sometimes I ll just have a Mocha Latte, and my wife has similar orders with oat milk. If we ve gotten what we ordered it was always super weak so don t know if I can say if I ve had the coffee yet. 3.) ANYTHING NEEDING MADE. With the limited experience and limited kitchen this piece suffers a lot. The staff is always rushing so much that the items that get to you loook rushed, and that s after waiting 30 minutes to get it which leads to the last item 4.) WAIT TIMES. Ultimately, I would be happy to wait out and ask for someone to fix an order if there was an issue, but the last couple times of waiting over 30 minutes for simple orders and still not getting what I asked for is just too much. Ultimately, the other location in Friendswood needs to have a sit down with this location and or find some more experienced help soon. It would be a shame to see this place suffer more in bad reviews. If you ve got time to spare and are a patient person try this place out, if you re in a rush and need your order right this means first time, I d skip this one.

Very relaxing atmosphere. Food was good, just not very warm when we received it. Flavors were good though. There was no wait to sit, but the wait for the food was a little much, but nothing to go crazy over. All in all, great little stop for us.

Normally our visits to this restaurant have been pretty good. However this visit on Sunday morning of 5/8/22 was very disappointing. The Bacon & queso burrito had barely any bacon on it (a few crumbs & very undercooked). I didn t even attempt to eat it. The French toast was kinda bland and very underwhelming for the cost versus what you receive. I would recommended adding real maple syrup instead of generic Smuckers syrup and a little more flavor.

This review is long overdue, but I wanted to get it out there anyway. For my 50th birthday, in October 2021, my husband wanted to do something extra to mark the occasion, and part of that was taking me to Rustika Cafe Bakery in League City, Texas and letting me order my own birthday cake. We met with a young woman (unfortunately I do not recall her name) who assisted us and she was very kind and helpful. After discussing options and whatnot, we placed our order. On the celebration date of my birthday my husband picked up my cake without a hitch. It was boxed and completely ready for him when he arrived at the bakery. All was great. At home we celebrated my 50th with a small handful of family & friends, and before long it was time to cut into the cake, and believe me- we were ready! I mean, look at it, it looks amazing! And it does. The cake looks stunning! Ta-da! The End. That is all is how I WISH to end this review - on a positive note because, let s face it, who likes a Debbie Downer , especially one reviewing a *bakery*, a bakery that has high ratings at that. Not I. But I am a word of mouth consumer who depends on public reviews just like you do, so it would be unethical of me to not bare it all. So let s get down to it, shall we? Why only three stars? OK, so I mentioned the employees were great, the order processing and picking up was top-notch smooth, and the cake looked excellent, and matched how I ordered it, That can only leave one thing. Have you figured it out yet? Not a single one of us wanted a second slice off cake. The cake was tall so we cut off approx 5 slices, and then we cut those five slices in half. None of us ate our entire serving of cake. None of us. Guys/gals .it simply did not taste good. And I haaaate saying that because I love ALL bakery s- everywhere- love them! And I honestly don t know if I fault this bakery, or not, because through the years I ve eaten A LOT of cakes and one thing I ve noticed is that anytime I ve bitten into a special ordered cake, like mine, my tastebuds are not thrilled. It s either Nope. Doesn t taste good , or barely pass for It s OK . I don t know why this is the case with fancy cakes, or specialty cakes, or over-the-top extravagant cakes or however you want to refer to them, but I suspect it s because of the amount of product that goes into making them. So anyway, that s my sad review. And I hate that it s not a four or five star rating review because I know that pulls down their overall score. But this bakery has tons and tons of other high esteemed remarks, so I m confident they ll be fine, and that my tiny feedback in the internet-sphere won t impact them. And I hope it doesn t, at least not negatively, because I want them to thrive, and grow, and succeed beyond measure. For quick reference: Occasion: 50th birthday celebration Celebration style: Simple/casual. Family & friends Company: Tweens (pre-teens), adults, senior adults Race/Ethnicity: Hispanic family, Caucasian family

Started out great, very cute place, but we wont return. Ordered and waited 20 minutes for breakfast that was just OK. And very few patrons. Sauces were very watery and/or missing with manager later arguing that they were there. And drinks came after the breakfast was served. The hot chocolate wasnt hot and tasted like skim milk and Hershey syrup, not anything youd expect for $4+. And across the street is Main Street Bistro that was packed. If you have a competitor across the street you had better bring your A game and this place hasnt.

I very rarely write reviews, and typically if I have an issue I either let the employees know or just dont worry about it -- its coffee and dessert after all! Sadly, I think I may possibly have had my worst coffee today. I ordered a Cortadito with Almond Milk (I wish I could still drink real milk) for $4.25 today. I also ordered a cookie and took that with me to sit and wait for the coffee. What I received was definitely not a Cortado/Cortadito. I was asked if I want the coffee and milk separate or together, to which I responded together is fine. I got a 10oz styrofoam cup filled to the top with very hot almond milk -- too hot to drink. I couldnt even taste the coffee in it -- however I did see a hint of coffee color, so I know it was poured in. Imagine a 10 oz hot cup of Almond Milk -- lets just say there are better things to taste! There simply was way too much milk to be classified as a Cortado. It couldnt be classified as a Macchiato, nor a Flat White. I took a few sips and wanted to be able to drink it, but couldnt -- it tasted like chalk. There simply was way too much milk in the drink. I did let the person who made it for me about the ratios being off. I got a response about the milk versus foam being off, but I told her that its not a milk/foam issue, its just way to much total milk period. You couldnt taste the coffee at all. This is the first coffee I have ever paid more than $3.50 for that I took only 3-4 sips and ended up having to throw away. It wasnt drinkable -- there was zero coffee taste. She never asked if I wanted another one. I should have just got an espresso shot, would have been better. I didnt want to be rude and just leave it on the counter, but I probably should have because I threw it away in the trash outside. Stick to the basic coffees I suppose. The employees were friendly, so Im not sure what happened. On a positive note, the chocolate chip cookie was good! I enjoyed eating that.

I called a day prior and happened to get in touch with the manager Tom to gauge how long it would take them to make an 8in cake and received clear feedback. The restaurant itself is small - they have indoor and outdoor seating and parking is limited. However, the place itself is very charming. Everyone followed Covid protocols. I ordered a Birthday cake to be picked up on Christmas Eve by noon. On My order I asked specifically for a Happy Birthday message to be on the cake. My Husband went to pick it up and he bought it home. When I opened the box I was very unhappy! The message was not on the cake and the cake decoration looked like something I would have done since I do not claim to be a professional cake decorator you can imagine what it looked like! I normally go to the local grocery store for cakes but I wanted something special, and this was not it at almost 3 times the price I normally pay! I called talked to whomever and was informed on this busy Christmas Eve I could bring the cake back up there and they would put the message on the cake, even if they would have done that the cake itself would need to be totally redone if possible. Of course they offered to give me free cookies or a discount on my next order but I think at this point the best solution for me is to write this review and warn others about my experience!

I ordered a cake for my husbands birthday last minute and they were able to accommodate that which is why I am giving them 2 stars...However, the cake was not what I expected...I ordered a carrot cake with the coconut icing used for German chocolate cakes... However, the person who took the order put in as a German chocolate cake with a carrot cake instead of chocolate cake....so needless to say I paid for a 45 dollar cake that no one ate because they put globs of chocolate ganache all over it... which does not taste well with carrots at all...Most bakeries make German Chocolate cake with only a little chocolate frosting for decor...they however put loads of Ganache all over it and put a very thin layer of coconut frosting on the top...well...i asked the man working if he could meet me half way since it was a wasted cake and he flat out refused, had no remorse, showed no empathy...he could have even offered you like 5 or 10 percent on my next order...but nope all he did was say well thats what your ordered... he even agreed that their Germany chocolate cake wasnt traditional and i wouldnt have known it was made that way...and still didnt care to make things right... Additionally about two weeks ago I took empanadas togo....Chicken mole and beef. The beef were grossly sweet and my husband who ate them was sick from his stomach all night

Wish I could of left 0 stars. Spent a very large amount of money on multiple pieces of cakes, small pies, and cookies. As I was watching them cut my cake I could see the young lady struggling to get the knife through the cake. I asked her and another man if these cakes were frozen before? They both said no, I should have followed my gut feeling and left when I seen the young lady and knife struggling. The cakes were extremely dry and taste was mediocre at best. The pies were very undercooked and doughy. The cookies were the only thing that was moderately enjoyable. For the prices of your goods, you should at least have a standard of quality or someone who can quality assure before selling the product. Very very disappointed in my experience and so are the multiple people that sent me here.

We ordered $80 worth of cake and about $50 worth of cookies and pies. They chocolate cake was extremely dry and the raspberry/lemon cake tasted old. The lemon raspberry cake was definitely better than the chocolate cake, but that is not saying much and it still lacked flavor and moisture. The small apple pie had undercooked dough in more than half of it. The cookies were also dry and very unflavored. We were unhappy about our entire experience.
