We had such an amazing evening here on our first visit. Had Serrano ham manchengo cheese and olive appetizer. I had a variety of red wines and my husband tried different beers. For our entrees we had the paella and the steak both dishes were beyond delicious. We were planning on just stopping in for dinner and a glass of wine but ended up staying for the live music. The food and service were spectacular but the ambiance was unmatched especially in Laredo.

Only good for getting a glass of Spanish wine (very small selection) and listen to live music (Mexican music not Spanish). Jamón serrano was stale, olives were ok, manchego good, shrimp had no taste. Service is great, everyone is very friendly.

Celebrated my 70th birthday with family n friends..it was a fantastic celebration starting with the ambience, the food was superb prepared by Chef Red Lopez...tabla de jamon, chorizo, y queso....paella, pollo a la vasca, gambas a la vinaigrette, gambas con pasta, delightful white wines from the Basque region of Spain and Spanish Cava..the music of Guitarras Sin Fronteras ( Dr. G. Soto, Miguel Saito, Ismael Cruz) was the highlight of the celebration....Thx you Red Lopez, Juan Montoya, Alejandra and staff...it is a celebration to remember!!

Really bad and poor service and food, We were there on the weekend, the cheese board only has 1 type of cheese, which was old and dry, the slice was so thin that you could see the other side, plus the menu says it comes with fresh fruits, and We only received (40 minutes later) a bunch of watery and wrinkled grapes.

Recently visited the Spanish restaurant Casa Lopez Tapas Bar with friends. We were very satisfied! The atmosphere in the restaurant is incredible, and the staff is friendly and attentive. I really liked the variety of dishes from the menu. Prices correspond to the quality of food and service. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to plunge into the atmosphere of Spanish cuisine and passionate music.

It was our first time to this establishment. I was under the impression we needed reservations, because we were turned back the last time for not making reservations. Theyre only open Fri, Sat, & Sun from 7pm to 12 i believe. No 1 answered the phone before to make the reservation nor did I get a call back (I left a message) ANYWAYS. We decided to just go again and see what happens. Located in a very run down part of the city, as soon as you walk in though the doors, youre in another place. You forget about the outside world. The atmosphere is the best part. Ill go as far as to say The best in Laredo. The food was great too. The chicken and shrimp sherry/lemon/buttery sauce is to to die for! The Lopez plate, presented in what I think is an oak barrel plate, had a nice blend of cold meats, cheese, and olives. Spicy potatoes could have been a bit spicier, but still inviting. I loved the calamari. All washed down with a pitcher of refreshing Sangria. We shared a Flan just to try it out. Not a bad way of topping dinner off. The portions were good. Just note that the flan is more of a personal size. Service wasnt as good as the food, but hey its laredo. We ran low on our water, and took about 30mins to pick up the tab (the card was sticking out and at the edge of the table for that long) There was maybe 5 tables tops, so I dont see what excuse they would use for overseeing this. We didnt mind, again the Live music was welcoming. As we existed the doors, we were Slapped in the face with the stench of raw sewerage. It basically said Welcome back to Laredos downtown I cant blame them for this. This is a city problem. The Bars on It street, the Tack room, etc they all suffer from this... So if youre looking for a romantic dinner with live entertainment, and excellent food, AND are unfortunate enough to be stuck in Laredo, I highly recommend Casa Lopez. Great Work Guys!! Parking: I dont believe they have a parking. The warehouse across the street is closed during those times. I used the street on that side.. Kid-friendliness: They do have a kids menu so I guess children are welcomed

I had to take a few minutes to tell you how thoroughly enjoyable our evening was last Saturday, October 23, 2021 at your amazingly authentic tapas bar. We celebrated my sister, Elsa Rodríguez Arguindegui s birthday there with family and friends. It all started with yummy sangria and tapas. The chorizos and gambas in red sauce we re my favorite fare. Then came the delicious paella. Add to that the music by Guitarras Sin Fronteras and we were in Spanish heaven. Thank you Red for your vision to create this little corner of Spanish heaven in Laredo. It s now a destination for me each time I visit Laredo from L. A. If you re reading this and you haven t treated yourself to dinner at Casa López you are certainly missing out! The restaurant does not look Very por but it is run by young people, who are Very Nice. The food is Very delicious and the athmosfere is like of a local taverna and great to get into the spirit of Fietas de Gracia. Very cheap prices for a no-frill place that usually is filled up with local crowd. Big portions for fair prices, dont epect luxury, but good local food! Very nice and typical place with only locals. Delicious spicy sausages, excellent service and very cold beer. Great value for price

We came down from Minnesota to Laredo to visit my family. My family had nothing but amazing things to say about this place. We had the opportunity to stop in one evening. The atmosphere was so relaxing, the music was so beautiful. The service was top notch. The food!!!! Where do we begin to describe the food! The food was beyond anything that I have ever had before! The sangria was to die for! We definitely recommend this place to anyone! Can not wait for our next trip down, we will certainly be making an appearance again!

I gave them 2 stars because the bar is beautiful, the ambiance is really nice but the food menu was ridiculous small. I know that tapas are small plate portions but this was ridiculous for the price of the tapas. Also please dont sell tickets for Flamenco and call it Mothers Day Flamenco DINNER if it doesnt come with any food, especially at $25 per person in a very crowded restaurant with a very small stage. Im sorry but I wont be coming back here. I would rather spend my money where its safe to park my car and where the menu and drinks are plentiful. Apparently Im not the only one who thinks this way and maybe thats why they removed the review button on their Facebook page.

VERY EXTREMELY BAD SERVICE!! I am so disappointed in this place. Having reserved in advance, the food was not worth it at all. The service horrible since we never got our drinks when we asked for them. All they could say was it was out of there hands. Wasnt that the whole point of reserving in advance?? They ruined Mothers Day. I couldve gone anywhere for a lot less money and a lot better service!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE! If you are interested in eating Tapas Restaurant, Tabernilla is waaaaayyy much better.
