I went for the first time on lunch, and the waitress was horrible! I asked for fresh lemonade (which was not) when I asked for water she had an attitude. She never came to check on me, and when I paid she jerked my card out my hand!!! I travel for work and will NEVER return! When I reported her, they didnt care either supporting small business gone wrong!!!! But the food was great!

Visit from owner to see if we were satisfied. I go Berrian tacos which a special that day. Insane flavor with every bite. Husbands chili relleno was huge, and he dug in before I could get a picture. Our first time there but definitely not the last.

Small menu but thats not a bad thing. Wait staff was nice and polite, really attentive. The food is the kind of Mexican food youd like if you didnt grow up in Mexico. It was pedestrian, safe, with the staple rice and beans. The chile relleno coating was inches thick and felt rubbery, as if it had been microwaved, maybe made with bread, flour, very heavy. It was drowned in salsa which is a terrible sin to me. I should have quit then and there but whatever. The dessert was the only thing I thought was OK. If Ernestos or Cuquitas is great eating to you, then this is right up your alley.

We ordered coffee and it was really good but had been reheated several times and what we got the coffee it was ice cold so send it back and they brought after it had been in the microwave we went to order breakfast and the plates were ice cold like it they had been in the icebox the food was cold so that made the food even colder I have never been to a Mexican restaurant where they do not serve ships and hot sauce I had to had to ask for some hot sauce cuz they did not have hot sauce by the time the hot sauce I come to the table I was half finished bottom line this place is not a Mexican restaurant and the food is okay but but cold I will not be coming back

The waiter (maybe the owner) told us about how he is from Guadalajara and told us in depth about their process for making the salsa which was delicious. I was in Garland on Father s Day and decided to go have lunch looking for Mexican food we stumbled upon Sazon Where I decided to order the Menudo and it didn t have any harmony so i was like well some people don t put harmony well the owner claimed the tortillas are homemade but I beg to differ flat store bought tortillas is what they looked and tasted like and the Menudo itself was mediocre at best my stepmother ordered enchiladas terrible! I m sorry but this was the worst experience of Mexican food I had in a while and I will not be coming back!!! I left feeling kinda grossed out!

Food is okay, but omg this owner guy is annoying and unpleasant. This guy yelled and barked at me and my wife when we parked our car in front of his restaurant to go to the next-door gym. One time he even cursed at me and when I confronted him, he said he was just cursing to himself?! WTH! Its first-come-first-serve parking. We ate at his restaurant 3 times in just 2 months recently. As far as we considered, we were his customers. Not any more! Do I recommend this place? Its up to your guess.

Wow this place is amazing...the food tasted fresh and you can see them freshly preparing it..... Friday is karaoke night so bring your pipes they have a full bar along with Micheladas!!! There speciality chicken plate is served with this corn side that leaves you wanting each bite of chicken with it...the decorations are rustic and fun. They are available on door dash which is eh but hey you dont even have to leave the couch now so forget about it. The owners are super nice and work and serve good food there. I heard this place is getting hit hard by the construction and losing business along with the pandemic it definitely does not help and needs the local community support so tell your family... your mistress...your other family two towns over... delicious home cooked food is here...

I have eaten here several times, most recently on June 25, 2021, and the food is outstanding. The dishes on the menu qualify as gourmet in my book - quite unlike typical Tex-Mex. The pollo Sazon, camarones al gusto, and parrillada, are all absolutely delectable. I understand from others in our group that the tortilla soup and the birrias were also fabulous. The location is a bit off the beaten track, in a strip shopping center in Garland, but it is well worth your time to check it out. It will soon be one of your go-to favs!

Personally, I loved it, starting with the service, our very friendly waiter recommended paltillos, he is one of those people who sells and recommends because he knows what he is selling, he recommended the shrimp enchiladas and honestly they were very delicious, there was no photo for that we were dying of hunger The margaritas were very delicious loaded just the way I like them and to finish for dessert my husband ordered a flan that was delicious and I had a chocolate mousse to take away because I didnt want to want to try it but later. I sincerely recommend the place, nice atmosphere, clean including the bathrooms, I will definitely return. oooh I forgot the best The choriqueso was brutal, you cant come without trying it, in combination with the tortilla chips that tasted homemade and not greasy like anywhere else. 100% recommended

We visited this place because we firmly believe in supporting local businesses and also based on the values they already have from other people, but it was not a good experience, my son ordered the chicken flautas dish which turned out to be a miniature and the Tasteless chicken, rice and beans lack the authentic Mexican seasoning, the shrimp cocktail is a single measure and did not convince, I think they need to see how the Hispanic markets do it, the stuffed chile was so-so because the brisquet also has no flavor, at They mix flour into tortillas and personally I dont like that combination, the worst thing was the chips that tasted and smelled rancid which is due to frying them in old oil, we asked them to change them, the second and third ones also came out the same. Even so, I continue in my position of supporting local businesses and I promise to return because it is not the first time that we have had a bad experience, after some time we have returned to the same place and we are happy to see that they have improved in every aspect, with I am very sorry to differ from the opinion of others.

Come out and support this small family owned restaurant. All of our food was delicious!! The owner Mr. Rafael was sweet, attentive and provided great service. We started out with a great tasting, freshly made Guacamole along with chips and salsa. Theres something about a great batch of chips that makes your food that much better. The salsa was mild - which for me was perfect. My husband on the other hand prefers a really spicy option. While we were waiting on the rest of our party to arrive. We decided to try the Birria Tacos (i saw the sign at the front entrance). It was Friday and we observe Lent - sooo Mr. Rafael said he would whip up his special - Birria style Shrimp tacos. These tacos were sooooo delicious! They had shrimp with a bit of sauteed mushrooms, cheese and mild pepper, and ohh sooo flavorful - instead of the consume - it was served with a tasty aioli sauce. My husband ordered his usual Bud Light- I had a refreshing Agua De Jamaica. Our teenagers arrived and we ordered : Mexican Shrimp Cocktail - great flavor, medium sized shrimp, very filling and tasty. Shrimp Enchiladas in a tomatillo sauce with with rice and refried beans : my husband ate them before I could even try a bite! Said they were delicious! Fajita Trio (chicken, beef and shrimp) with rice and beans. All was cooked and seasoned perfectly- especially the shrimp. My son did say he wished the serving was smaller than he usually sees in a fajita combo - but happy nonetheless. Salmon with an Ancho Chile Sauce : my daughter orders Salmon almost everywhere we eat if its available. Salmon was cooked perfectly! the chili ancho honey sauce was the perfect touch served along with a corn casserole/medley and white rice. She absolutely loved it and since I had a small bite - I will actually order this for myself next time! We were pretty full but decided to share and Finished off with a yummy flan! P.S. The kids (teens) - asked to order more Shrimp tacos -to go! Give this place a try~ theyre trying to make it work in this covid restricted time. Ive been here twice now. I had the roasted poblano cream soup and the beef birria tacos. They were both really good. The tacos had Oaxaca cheese in them... yum!

Very nice restaurant and the food was exceptional seasoned. The mall landlord drives around in a Black Chevrolet Avalanche and looks at people suspiciously asking where are you going. Hes driving away the little bit business the store owners have. My Wife and I just went and had a nice Spanish breakfast. I think hes selling the strip mall, maybe the tenants know maybe not. But, Saxon is a very good restaurant.

Our first time at sazón and for sure wont be the last one!, as you enter youre greeted with a smile from the owner, clean tables, clean place. We had the queso and chips as starter, very good white cheese, then we had the pollo sazon and OMG, the combination of all the flavors made it unique and delicious!, very good rice and the best part is, homemade corn tortillas. Price was right on spot. Just a little advise: the owner and his wife run this place on their own, so, waiting times may be a little long, but nothing out of this world(just a heads up for you to know what to expect). Definitely one of the best Mexican places weve been to (outside from Mexico), not Tex-Mex. Next time I come Ill get the brisket chile relleno!!

We went in here on a whim for lunch. The food was delicious! I personally was most impressed with our waiter - which I feel surely must have been the owner because he was so knowledgeable and so passionate about the menu. Highly recommended.

This place is an amazing representation of authentic Mexican food! The tortilla soup was so delicious and one of a kind. The Camarones Diabla was the best Mexican dish Ive ever eaten. The chef/owner is spot on with his presentation and flavor and the BYOB makes it even more affordable than it already is. If I could give it 8 stars I would!!!

6 months ago this place was great, my original review is below. Quality, service, and atmosphere have taken a nose dive. They dont even serve chips and salsa anymore. REALLY!? A Mexican restaurant without chips and salsa! The food was very bland. I have never had white rice at a Mexican restaurant. They have painters plastic separating one-third of the dining area where they have their kids hanging out watching TV. I am thankful that we didnt bring anyone with us. I used to brag about this place. Now I would be embarrassed to take anyone here. -----old review If mama is a classically trained chef, then this is home cooking. The sauces are brilliant; nuanced not overpowering. Most Mexican cooking is so heavy with spice that each individual spice can not be tasted. Sazons sauces are a treat for the tongue, balanced in such a way that each area of the tongue gets its own treat. Masterful cooking that will wow you. Most chili rellenos are deep fried gut bombs, dripping with oil, then smothered in red sauce to mask the greasiness. Sazons is crisp fried to perfection, sauce drizzled for looks and function and the red sauce in the plate, not smothering the entree, allowing you to taste the pepper as well its stuffing. The dessert that we tried, the choco flan was a disappointment. It was only average. At a mediocre restaurant this would shine, but after the brilliance of the entrees, it paled in comparison. This little gem of a restaurant unfortunately is located in one of the worst locations possible. If it were in an upscale area they could charge three time the price and diners would feel like it was a deal. It is worth the drive; Google the directions and treat yourself to a great find.

Enjoyed the atmosphere. Enjoyed the fact its BYOB. The taco plate I had was very good. The owner (Rafael) was very attentive. Feels good to be able to relax n have a drink and listen to some background music. He tells us he has plans finish his bar area where he will have live music n karaoke soon. Huge selection of breakfast, lunch and dinner plates to choose from. Be back soon! :) Thanks Rafael!

Oh Sazon is spectacular! Its true Mexican in the best way possible. I had chili relleno and honestly one of if the best one Ive ever had. Guacamole and queso were delicious and their taco, well that was its own level of greatness. It is byb just so you know, but the drinks he does have are delicious teas and true Mexican sodas. It was so good I forgot to take any photos....

Sat a 5 person (4 adult 1 child) party at a 4 top table, with multiple tables empty. Only brought 4 drinks for us (our daughter ignored). Ordered queso which was good but chips were stale. We ordered a seafood soup which person said was good. One person got chicken flautas which were described as barely adequate. A tortilla soup which was bad. I ordered the parrillada which completely lacked flavor and was dry. Our daughter had rice and beans which she enjoyed. When I said something about lacking flavor I was told I didn t ask for spicy. I was unaware that you had to ask for food to have flavor. Will not return.
