Just want to share that we visited Laredo a couple weeks ago and tried to go to Livi s Mexicue but when we got there it was closed. A person who I presume to be the owner/manager noticed looking for the hours on the door and came up to our car and apologized for their limited hours but recommended the food truck down the road and we did and it didn t disappoint! Their hospitality and food service was outstanding and food delicious! Great scene with the bars and food trucks. Highly recommend!

I was excited to try as I ve heard many good things; however, I was disappointed at my recent experience at the Golondrinas location. I ordered the brisket sandwich, and the flavors were good; overall, the plate was subpar. A drunk person may have been satisfied as it s a bar; however, I was not convinced by the $16

This was our first time at this establishment and food was incredible. Best brisket,it was tender and the seasoning was spot on. My wife s loaded baked potato was big soft with plenty of meat. Menu has a lot to offer we can t wait to go back.

We have visited the place on several occasions and it has really become our favorite, the flavor is excellent, the portions are well served and the best of all is the quality of service, all the people who are in charge of the place are very friendly, small details make a difference, the boy who serves has given lays chips to my little daughter, once the order took a little longer than usual he gave us a complimentary soft drink, he always asks us if everything is okay with our food, so their customer service is quite remarkable, I hope that this business grows and becomes the favorite of many, as a recommendation I would only ask to extend the hours, since the days they open are few and on a short schedule, so We cant visit them as often, if it were open longer we would go more often, I would also ask to expand the variety of soft drinks, since there are few options, I would add root beer, Dr Pepper or Powerade, but in general everything is excellent .

I love coming to eat at this place! My kids love it too because of the nice environment and live dj setting an awesome atmosphere. Not to mention the AWESOME tasting food! Im getting hungry just thinking about it. If you havent tried it you are missing out. Kid-friendliness: The kids love this spot, we tell them we are going and they get excited since they really like the food.

Definitely one of the best barbacoa places in the city. We got the Livis Breakfast special which comes with Barbacoa, three eggs, a portion of beans mixed with chorizo, tortillas and salsa, the combination of all these ingredients was outstandingly good. On the other hand we got the Chilaquiles taco, which was pretty good as well and the Brisket sandwich we liked very much too. The atmosphere feels really cool, the service is amazing and they gave us a small Mimosa for free. Another thing worth mentioning is that you can bring your own beer, since they dont sell alcohol. The location itself is very convenient as well since its in the heart of the city, close to many bars which is good if you stop by on a weekend night, we visited for brunch but since downtown is not so busy at that time, we found an available parking lot very easily.

UPDATE (May 2023) I have continued to go to Livi s regularly. It has become my favorite place for barbacoa. I have also tried their brisket and it is excellent. Was lucky enough to try their Dino Rib as well and let me tell you it is crazy delicious! Go and give them a try, you won t regret it. We tried Livi s today for the first time and I am so impressed! We ordered a chilaquiles taco and tacos de barbacoa and wow! They were so delicious. The chilaquiles are some of the best I ve had in Laredo and the barbacoa is unique and tasty. It is not super greasy either. The staff was very helpful and attentive.

I m visiting from out of town and was recommended this location for barbacoa and definitely piqued my interest when they mentioned they had smoked barbacoa, since, I ve never had or even heard of it being smoked before. I ordered 3 tacos of smoked barbacoa and a big red. The food is priced well and the taco are stuffed. It s not overly greasy like some barbacoa I ve had and it had a very smoky hue and flavor of it. Aside from the good food, the customer service is phenomenal. I m assuming the owner, explains their type of foods they serve, and even lets you sample some barbacoa if you never had it smoked before. It was delicious, will definitely visit again and try other foods
