Well finally went and while it s a very nice atmosphere the food was not impressive at all! Neither were the drinks which I had a good 8-10 drinks and walked out with hardly a buzz!! At $15-$17 a drink one would expect good quality liquor with a good amount to give u a buzz within 3 drinks! We ordered numerous plates and can t say any thing special! Highly overpriced! Nice area for a first date to impress and then stay away! Could have had a better meal at La carreta or at pescador for 1/4 of the price we paid!

I truly enjoyed my dining experience this time around! The staff was extremely attentive and the food tasted amazing. I will definitely rate it a 10/10! I got the chicken with chipotle sauce, Coke Zero, water, truffle fries, and a steak! I truly love the detail to everything! From the music to the carts coming around such as making the salsa, meat selection, and drinks. Overall, I hope Otilia s continues with the amazing service. Will be back here soon again.

Disappointment is an understatement after my first visit to this restaurant. I had high hopes for a great dining experience, but we were let down by the manager, Carlos. Watching him treat his staff in such a disrespectful manner was ugly to watch. The way he spoke to them in front of customers made us uncomfortable, and to make it worse, his staff felt the need to apologize for his behavior. We decided to address the issue with Carlos, and his response was to offer complimentary drinks on the house. Honestly, that s not the point. A toxic environment is not something that can be fixed with a round of drinks sir! Drinks were kindly declined. While the food was decent, it would have been so much better without the negative atmosphere he s created. No plans to go back.

As a Louisiana native, this is the best seafood I ve eaten in Laredo!! Service was great and my wife was well pleased for her birthday!! The saxophonist was great as well. Some people complained about the price, but I think for the quality of food the price is fair. I highly recommend the PAPARDELLE AL FRUTI DI MARE .

I recently dined at this restaurant in Laredo that truly exceeded my expectations. The service was exceptional attentive, friendly, and genuinely caring, making my dining experience both enjoyable and memorable. The food was equally impressive, showcasing a blend of flavors that highlighted the best of local cuisine. It was refreshing to see such a high standard of authenticity and respect in a restaurant. Thank you for making my night special and for representing Laredo with such excellence.

First, the one star begins with telling me to take of my cap. If youre going to imply such dress code, imply it all the way. Meaning, no cap, no jeans as well. I live in San Antonio and I go to fancier places and fine dinning. Ive never been told to take off my cap. OTILIAS is nowhere near fine dining. Unexperienced management/ownership shows a lot in the menu. The menu start off good then its all ove the place. You cant offer dishes like the apps and then bring out chips . Totally doesnt go with the presentation. Another, Tacos Kissi already exists and offers all the mexican dishes and tacos. Change the menu, downsize the menu and figure out how you want the place to be known. I asked my server for baguette slices and she didnt know what that was. Eliminate all the Mexican tacos and dishes and do something different that pairs better with the look of the restaurant. Add tall tables by bar area. Add chairs to the bar top. Do not run it like another Mexican/Paleque Grill wanna be. Be different, have a better menu and the prices for the quality, Big No No!!! Would I visit again when im town, probably not. I spent about $240 between my friend and I and I wouldve preferred to spend that at Capataz. Can never go wrong w capataz or tabernilla. Just saying. Good luck. And yes, Ive been in the restaurant buisness for 22yrs. Hopefully this place gets better with time.

Though the atmosphere is very high end and trendy. I fear that is all this restaurant has to offer, it is very pleasant on the eyes however the food didnt leave astonished, it is alright, its not bad but it could be better. The portions are filling ,though I do hope in the future they offer more variety in terms of appetizers. As for our waiter, he wasnt as attentive but I do not blame the person but poor management, additionally our food was cold/room temperature when it got to our table after waiting quite a while when we were given a 35 minute wait estimate. Overall experience was a 5/10

I was excited about having dinner at the most talked about place in my hometown and I was disappointed. FOOD AND DRINKS: I arrived earlier than the birthday dinner party of 8 reservation and went to the bar for an old fashioned. I sent it back and asked for a beer as the drink didn t meet the mark. Someone in the party ordered the fried rice and lobster tail, the waiter comes back about 20 minutes later to say they ran out of fried rice. I ordered the tenderloin medium rare and potatoes au gratin and chimichurri. The tenderloin was perfectly cooked but lacked flavor. The server mentioned they had ran out of chimichurri and when I asked for the house salsa that can be made at the table, he stated they ran out of tomatoes and had no more salsa. The au gratin potatoes were subpar. Others at the table ordered shrimp, pork belly tacos and were given the same response regarding no salsas being available. SERVICE: We asked the male server for appetizer recommendations and had zero feedback for us. He could ve pretended like he knew what he was talking about and we would ve accepted it but he didn t even try. The server refilled our drinks a total of 2 times after sitting at the table for two hours, and when we asked for a refill, the server rolled his eyes and still took a good while before returning with water and ice tea. Atmosphere: The place overall has a nice ambiance until you need to go to the restroom and dodge waiters coming out the same hallway with your food or preparing themselves for a celebratory light show at your table. The saxophone player is a nice touch which I considered when rating the atmosphere 2 stars. OVERALL: I might give this place another shot in a few months once they can nail down tasty drinks, server etiquette and having enough food to last throughout the operating hours. I generally take pictures of my meal but I was that disappointed and no longer excited to capture my experience.

I was super excited to try one of the newest restaurants in Laredo. I ended up being super disappointed .The waiters that helped us were not much help when ordering. The attentiveness was 0. I would have expected much more since the restaurant is very expensive. It was my birthday, they did not recommend any of the services for celebrations, So it was a very basic dinner. Once we paid staff never came back to refill our drinks or nothing. I saw other waiters singing happy birthday but ours just gave us our check and left apparently because she and he were no where to be seen after. For close to $500 for a family of 5, I expected much much more. The food was average, not worth the price tag. Below is what I ordered. Definitely not kid friendly, no kids menu.

The atmosphere is very nice and it definitely gives you that fine dining feel. The decor is certainly modern, but the full wall display screen does get annoying. We started with both of the soups, which were delicious. The beet soup is something to only get if you like very earthy flavors. I got the burger which was well done and honestly very dry. The mango dessert had that small plate fine dining feel, but is not enough for two people to share. The service was great, but the menu listed in the website didn t match the one in front of us. Honestly the food doesn t meet the price point. At the very least I expect full flavors and amazing food for the price.

Its a new restaurant, Ive been there 2 times since they opened it and Im really going to think very carefully about whether Ill visit them again. The waiter comes and takes the order and until then everything is perfect, the bad thing comes when youre waiting for your dish for 1: 30 to 2 hours and the waiter only comes to apologize in those two hours is very frustrating and both times it was exactly the same in terms of the serving time. If you go, dont order goat, they never have it, it only exists on the menu, very bad acoustics in the restaurant you have to shout to talk to the people you go because you can only hear everyone talking, in costs well 5 people 500 dlls. When the service and the food are worth it, the cost doesnt matter, but the wait time for food is crazy, I do recommend the filet mignon, its a delight just for that reason I went again but I dont think Ill be back soon ahhh and we have to Make a reservation because you can arrive and there is no table, that is another detail. I leave you a because your food can be very good but if the attention and the waiting time is 2 hours to eat, they are bad. Ahh and the goat thing is real, there is never only one on the menu the waiter always tells you its over hahahahaha well if you are successful with the goat then prepare more dont you think??? My humble opinion

When we entered the restaurant I told my husband this might be an expensive meal for both of us. Interior looks classy and modern. The utensils were also classy as well as the touch lamp that they have every table .The service was excellent. However, upon checking the menu there wasn t a lot of options. My husband ordered the pasta and the taste was incredible. I ordered the Teppanyaki I think for me it s a bit salty. I do love the appetizer they give out for free. It was a bread with a delicious milky dip. I really had to ask for an additional one because the dip was really good if you re a person who doesn t like sweets. overall it s a 7/10 for me.

Atmosphere and service are top notch but this place missed the mark on the actual food courses. Drinks and desert are great but the food itself is lackluster and doesn t measure up to other upscale restaurants in town in terms of quality and flavor. Also, it s freaking hot in there I don t think there s central air it s more like small units throughout

Came to eat here on Friday night. The restaurant itself is very nice and upscale looking however I cannot entertain the thought that this restaurant was poorly built and laid out. There are mini splits throughout the restaurant and the entrance to the kitchen is in the same hallway as the bathrooms. Which is not fun to be walking through and dodging waiters with trays and plates. I also have nothing against mini splits in restaurants however for a restaurant wanting to be upscale it is a huge eye sore that many people noticed. I would definitely see in the future on getting that resolved as this restaurant is expecting you to be paying $6 for a bottle of water. As per the food, we had the vodka pasta and the ribeye steak. The pasta was very pleasant and the portion is smaller than most places however still very filling. The steak however lacked any flavor. The meat itself was dry, missing seasoning and overall felt like a very cheap cut. Yes, we did get it medium rare. The potato s were also missing seasoning. They were plated with just a sauce on top. Asparagus was good. However the steak should have been at least more edible than what it was. Especially when they are trying to sell you it for $55. Tiramisu is in a very untraditional presentation. Inside a glass cup that looks like a yogurt parfait but still very good. Overall the place has potential to be indeed a high scale restaurant. However I do feel they are very focused on looks and drinks versus the food itself and the functionality of the restaurant . I truly hope this review isn t an insult but as creative criticism to improve. I really wish for this restaurant to succeed as a restaurant like this in Laredo exists slim to none.

Seating Online reservation at 8pm, seated at 8:01. We arrived about 5 minutes prior. Dress Code Dress code is what you would wear to República or San Telmo. Definitely upscale and catered to the higher earning area it s located on. This places dress code suggests it encourages a more refined and upscale atmosphere, not welcoming of anything under casual attire or inappropriate behavior. The AC and tinted windows handled the 95° weather well. Chill EDM played the entire time. Don t forget your Botox and lip filler as it s very welcomed here. Ambiance The place is trendy and likely an Instagrammer s playground. Maybe it s because it s just opening, but we had a phone with a content creator light shoved in our face without asking. My wife and I don t care, but the dude bringing his side piece might not like this. Table Setup The table setup was a gold-colored stainless steel (probably) plate, linen napkins, and gold-colored silverware with black handles. Complimentary Bread Complimentary bread was fresh-baked, seemed like sourdough with sesame seeds, with garlic and regular butter on the side. This bread has an acquired taste unlike what we re used to in Laredo. It wouldn t be a bad idea to monitor how people respond to this bread, as we re very reluctant to change. It s just the reality of our city. Drinks and Appetizers I ordered a Mezcalito Jamaica drink which was $18. It was good. We ordered a tuna tiradito. It s unlike the flooded sauce plate we re used to. This one had what tasted like a Filipino mayo-based sauce, different but nonetheless delicious 10/10. Main Course Prime beef seems to be the only option here. My ribeye set me back $50+, and for an extra $30, you can have it covered in gold, which I skipped. I wasn t given a steak knife, but the initial silverware set butter knife had a slight serration, so it was dual-purpose for me. I don t know if this was intentional or not. Service My server was simultaneously serving a table of 20 at the same time as my wife and I. He still tried to be as attentive as possible and apologized after realizing he hadn t been by in a long time. We rarely ask for anything and usually are a one-drink type of table. I could see how this probably wouldn t work out if I were a needy table. Food Quality My steak was cooked a perfect medium rare. My side of mashed potatoes was lukewarm at best but still tasty. My wife ordered vodka fettuccine, which seemed to be homemade pasta with chicken. The sauce was slightly under salted to my wife s taste. Overall Experience Our tab was $124 before tip. If you re going to drink expect to spend at least $50 per person on the low end. Aside from new opening flaws that all other new restaurants face and the usual issues that all upscale places face, like dudes blocking servers pathways to have a conversation, the overall experience was positive. The atmosphere is good and looks like a great place to hang out. We are very likely to return.
