Its right next to the Rio Grande. Be cautious of the river yet the view is lovely. The bridge nearby has bats so watch out at dusk or dawn; unless ur into that.

Many stray wild dogs and vicious i saw border patrol feeding them not a good place for kid with so many vicious dogs.

Great, free family activity. You can bring your own chairs, but there are rocks you can sit on. Two entrances, one is on south meadow but not exactly sure where. The other entrance is through the Benavides softball complex on Zapata highway one block north of the Loop 20 intersection (by the IBC). Drive down and turn north, head to the back of the complex and follow the hike/bike trail south.
