I m so disappointed I LOVE LOVE Jamaican food, so I was excited to know that it was a place right down the road from my job , but $21 yea it s not much but for the food I received definitely wasn t worth it , the chicken you could tell possibly came from the very bottom of the pot it was crunchy and dry . The cabbage had absolutely no tase it also could have been cooked a little longer, the macaroni was literally just for looks because of the parsley on it, the cheese was barely spread evenly over the noodles it had not a lick of taste either . And the rice and peas was mushy as if it had been sitting way too long in water and just sat after, all in all I feel like I wasted my money and time it was not worth it . The portion size was great though so I guess that s the good

Everything arrived hot oxtails rice and peas were delicious cabbage just didnt have any seasoning at all so you just have to add your own fish had great seasoning breading just wouldnt stay on some parts as you can see in the Pic and the fries were ok but Ill definitely recommend the oxtails and rice above everything else

After pulling over to gas up at QT, I spotted this place and Im glad I did! The oxtails were great and the cabbage was better than expected. Service was excellent, almost felt like family. I look forward to returning!

Ive been here 4 times, and each time the customer service is terrible, I mean horrendous. They are rude, not personable, with terrible communication. This last time I called my order in and when I get there they forgot to make my oxtails jerk and she tried to blame me saying I didnt remind her of my order when I came in to pick up. Why is it my responsibility to tell her how to do her job??!! The food is hit or miss. Two out of the 4 times Ive came here the food was horrible. I usually get jerk chicken and oxtails. Although the service was bad this time, the food was actually really good. I got medium oxtails and they gave me about 5, it is a lot of food, you can definitely share between 2 people! Their beef patties are also good and they use a lot of minced beef. The other reviews are spot on, the jerk chicken is indeed BURNT. Not charred, BURNT. It was clearly cooked way too long. The few pieces that werent burnt were pretty good, especially with their jerk sauce. Im confused why they promote Cabbage as a side, but its really a small scoop of Cabbage with a ton of broccoli, peas, corn carrots, and squash. PLEASE STOP DOING THIS! Cabbage is inexpensive, so there is no reason why yall are mixing veggies. Call it a mixed veggie side if thats the case! Either my body didnt agree with the food, or they have sanitation issues because I was sick the next day, very sick. If it wasnt for their horrible service I do believe they would be rated higher.

I ordered the rice and peas with curry tilapia meal with vegetables on the side and when I received my meal through DoorDash, it was hot and delivered with care. However, the taste of the food was not what I expected because the entire meal was salty and I can tell that it was the fish that was over salted, but because the fish laid over the top of the rice it actually made the rice very salty as well

This is so disappointing. Was supposed to be a veggie patty. It was completely stale - just some frozen mixed vegetables stuck to one wall of the patty. Completely dried out. Callaloo too salty, and ackee was all broke up and didn t taste fresh. Rice and peas are good, but they didn t give us much. The portions otherwise was good. However, only thing edible was the rice and peas - we spent $47 - feel like it was a waste. I was hopeful this would be our go-to spot.

Rice and beans dry dry. They used a dry rub as jerk shrimp and over cooked. When I came back they really didnt care how I felt. Did not refund rice and bean because I ate some of cabbage. Customer service a no. I decided to eat here because they have been there a while but all regret. Cant return and Im sure they dont care.

The food is excellent when its fresh. There have been times when the food tasted as it was cooked the day before and just warmed in the microwave. Also received jerk chicken that was burnt and covered with sauce to hide, but they did replace it with fresh chicken after I took it back.

Jerk Chicken was nice and I love the Signature Chicken wings. They had nice size on them and the sauce was good. My only complaint was the Mac and cheese. It was 5 bucks for about 4oz and it was not good. At all. Not cheesy, not creamy, not flavorful. It was the worst Ive ever had. Again Jerk Chicken and wings were damn good but that Mac and cheese... They need to let me make it.

My husband ordered beef ribs and we got home to eat our food, my husband ribs were warm on top and ice cold on the inside. I called and talk to the young lady who checked me out who was very nice. She apologized and spoke to the owner and he suggested that we come the next day and he will make sure we get hot ribs. We went up there and the owner was rude and told us his preparation process, he cooked the ribs and then he freeze them, when you place a ribs order he then microwave the ribs yall know you cant keep preheat meat because it will spoil. We told him we did microwave the ribs but my husband wasnt sure if it would be wise to eat the ribs because of the reddish brown color on the inside so he didnt eat it. We tried to explained to the owner and he got upset and kept interrupting us. At this point it wouldnt be wise to eat anything here after this man get upset and rude over his ice cold ribs he served. He wanted to go back and forth with us over ice cold ribs he sold us. It was total disaster at a place we been eating there years. He treated us so bad and we spent a lot of money here. Without customers theres no Taste of Jamaica. Never Again!

Taste of Jamaica is my go-to spot for Caribbean food. I discovered them a year ago and have been hooked ever since. I ve been able to have their Jerk oxtails, chicken & curry salmon with all of their sides, meat patties and natural drinks. All of it taste great and they give you plenty. Oxtails with rice and peas which are rice and a touch of beans, which is fine with me. Also, has cabbage as a side. Oxtails have an awesome flavor!!! Loved it and the amount they give you is a plus!!! On my photo, I had already eaten 2 small ones and a medium one and it still was a lot more left for my photo. Nice amount of rice and peas per usual with restaurants - had a good, light flavor on them. Cabbage was lightly flavored, needed more seasonings in which you can season to your liking yourself. Tbh, the Oxtails alone are 5 stars!!! If it wasnt for the sides, it wouldve definitely been a five stair review.

Ive tried this place three times because I dont like giving up on us. I ordered jerk chicken, what I was served was burnt chicken. I ordered over the phone, drove to pick it up it wasnt ready so I paid. Walked back to my vehicle. Walked back into the place I could smell a burning smell didnt think much. The food was really good. However.... it made me sick the following morning. It sucks because its been a long time since I had oxtails so I was looking forward to this oxtail plate. Im not sure if it was the oxtails themselves or the barbecue sauce I ordered with the oxtails or both but it didnt sit well with my stomach. I also decided to test the waters the next day and eat a small piece of the left over oxtail to see if anything happens, and yes my stomach is in a uproar again. (Side note: my friend who told me about the place said they had good food and that I should try them out, so we did and as we were about to get our food and leave he said he saw the girl eating behind the counter and licking her fingers before bagging our food up... HE said this... I wish he said something to me before we walked out the door though because thats unsanitary..) Do what yall wish with this information.

I dont like eating out much, but Id reccomend anyone to dine here, its Niceooo! The food is very hot, tasty, fresh, and with large portions. I especially like the fish and the coco bread. I have visited this restaurant several times throughout the years. It is my go to for Goat/Mutton. Unfortunately this time was different. I walked in and ordered a Medium Oxtails and Medium Goat/Mutton. The Goat/Mutton was on point as usual. Love it. The Oxtails seemed overcooked and something smelled sour. Overall lack of good customer service/listening skills/manners I placed my order in advance over the phone to save time and the person taking my order was very rude, when I got there I was told to wait as if it was being made to find out that my order was not even started then the manager had advised me to order over the phone next time to avoid this issue and Just feel this matter was handled poorly

I will not support ghetto unprofessional businesses this is why black own will go out of business because you have unprofessional people serving your customers you lost a customer and def won t refer no one
