I was wanting mini conchas and pan dulce at my wedding and Abuelitas provided them in the perfect size! I also requested that they not be individually wrapped so our guests were able to grab multiple upon serving themselves. They were able to meet my requests with no issues! Not only was the size perfect but everything tasted so fresh and delicious. We had some left over after the wedding and after heating them up a tad bit in the microwave, they still tasted delicious! Highly recommend, especially if youre looking for some pan dulce for an event!

I visited today the Buda Main St location, on their grand opening day. Half the store if dedicated to trinkets and merchandise, nothing is baked on site and the cookie selection is disappointing: 3-4 kinds of sugar covered cookies all pre-packaged in plastic. Nothing has prices listed, which for me is a sign of disrespect to the customers. I will not visit this place again.

As a business owner myself you hope everyone succeeds and hope for the best for others in business. I tried the empanadas and the dough was thick and under cooked. My wife was also unimpressed. I put them in the oven and cooked them more and it made them a world better. The bland dough taste improved vastly by being cooked more. I tried the place today and gave it a second shot and got a different apple pastry. The filling appeared to clearly be from a can and not homemade. I tried some of the gingerbread cookies and they were on the dry side with very little taste. The selection seemed to be oddly simple and limited for a place with bakery as part of their name. Im baffled how they are managing to pay the rent or are opening a Buda location. Seems odd to me.

I am so glad Im 45 min away from this place because I would be in serious trouble. Thats because I would be there every single day. If you live in the Kyle, South Austin area, why arent you there getting the delicious soft conchas, the pink cake, and the pumpkin empanadas? They have more, but you gotta go check them out. The pastries are individually wrapped. Yippie! No germs on my bread! As a nurse, I love that! Im never there early enough to grab their tacos but they always sell out. They offer some drinks and coffee too!

Abuelitas Bakery is one of my favorite spots to get food in Hays. Im here at least once a week. And if Im being lazy, its on my Door Dash order! In my opinion, they have the best conchas in this area. Im so picky with conchas. I hate how many places are stale or rough, or sometimes you can taste whatever was baked around them. Not here. Here they are ALWAYS delicious and soft. Their breakfast tacos are really good, and their pan de polvo was the closest thing Ive had to my abuelas. Theyve made their space into such a cute, welcoming area. And their customer service is absolutely on point. Anytime I come in, they are always so nice, carry on conversations that are way past just hi/have a good day. You can tell that they have really poured their heart and souls into this business, it just really shows. I highly recommend stopping in and grabbing something to eat and maybe one of their cute little concha swag items too (seriously theyre adorable!).

Abuelita s is by far my go to spot for tacos, conchas, empanadas, and more! For those who are being judgmental, this IS NOT a panaderia. This is a brother and sister owned bakery where they sell the main traditional valley pastries that THEY grew up on. Please stop asking them to change things up because you grew up with certain pastries tasting a certain way. This is how their family made things! Plus, I grew up calling conchas, mollettes. Having to say conchas is just hard for me.

I love a spot out here south of atx embracing the Latin culture, however Im From the valley and it most definitely doesnt have an authentic flavor from a panaderia. It was over priced and flavor less. Wedding cookies were good, concha flavor less, empanadas were ok, muffin was a muffin. I dont think it was bad but definitely not authentic Mexican panaderia. Comparing to Laras in the valley this definitely a tex mex bakery.

I tried Abuelitas for the breakfast tacos. I look forward to going back at a later date to try the pastries. We had the barbacoa taco and an egg and potato taco. The tortillas were good and the eggs and potatoes had good flavoring. I was not a fan of the taco sauce, personally. My husband said he liked the barbacoa and the sauce. Overall a great experience!

My daughter and I frequented Abuelita s Bakery when they were just a food truck in Kyle. During that time, they were making these amazing Argentinian style chicken and beef empanadas.. As they are considered a small appetizer in Argentina, they had just the right amount of meat and the chimichurri sauce was to die for.. Since then, Abuelita s Bakery opened up a brick and mortar in the same plaza.. Well a couple of weeks ago, my daughter and I had a craving for those amazing empanadas so we decided to take a drive to Abuelita s Bakery.. When we arrived, we were told by the owner s sister that the empanadas were no longer on the menu.. We were devastated!! Apparently, they received one negative review by some guy claiming the empanadas were dry, too small, and not authentic Mexican so they felt bad and decided to stop making them.. Ridiculous!!.. Those empanadas were fantastic and not intended to be authentic Mexican but Argentinian.. If you want authentic Mexican, there are tons of food trucks in Kyle that serve Mexican.. Please Abuelita s Bakery bring them back!! Don t listen to that one guy who s limited in his knowledge of other food cultures and is ruining it for the rest of us.. Why should we suffer over his ignorance!?!!?? Everything you guys make is fabulous and we support you 100%!

Came for the first time today with family and ordered breakfast tacos, some pumpkin empanadas, a blueberry muffin, and some iced coffee. Everything was delicious and fresh! Their tacos were simple and made to order. The flour tortillas were soft, pillowy, and light! I forgot to ask but I wouldn t be surprised if they were made in-house. They gave us ample salsa all of which were fantastic! More complexity of flavor in the salsa than you d find at a typical taqueria in the Austin area, even compared to some very popular spots. I borrowed a chunk of blueberry muffin from our two-year-old. Nice and moist, not too sweet. Again, very fresh. The pumpkin empanadas were delightful and a great way to top off breakfast after finishing your tacos. The iced coffee comes dressed with milk and syrup which we didn t expect, but we didn t mind after we tried it. Rich with notes of chocolate, vanilla, and hazelnut. Great with pastries! All the staff there were nice and helpful. We narrowly avoided a big breakfast rush but they handled it very well and the crowd vanished as quickly as they came. Be forewarned, while the shop is very cute, it is small and there is extremely limited seating which includes a small corner counter and a lone table outside. Be prepared to take orders to go or perhaps hang out in the morning shade just outside the shop. We will definitely be back! Well worth the drive from Far South Austin!

So glad we were finally able to give this place a try. Every single thing we had was amazing. I normally like my iced coffee black but we ordered it fixed up and it was perfect on a 100° day. My daughter ate a blueberry muffin while she waited for her tacos and scarfed down half in just a couple minutes saying mmmm, yummy . The tacos were some of the best ones we have had in a long time. The tortillas tasted home made and the barbacoa was out of this world (my 2 year old stole one of mine so it was a good thing we ordered extra). We also had the bean and cheese as well as the chorizo and egg tacos. We also grabbed some empanadas for later. All delicious. Not only was the food fantastic but the workers were so nice and welcoming. We will definitely be back!

I was disappointed with the concha s, they tasted bland and old. I ordered potato, egg and cheese taco which was great!! My chorizo and egg tasted like mostly chorizo. The tortilla s were soooo good! There are only 3 chairs with a shelf-type table, no actual tables. You go inside order your food and leave.

My oldest son and drove by last night to check this new Bakery Spot. I was not sure why there was a food truck and then a brick and mortar location. Before work I stopped by, there are finishing the brick and mortar locations but have the food truck for ordering. I had already looked over the menu online to get an idea of what I wanted to order. The young lady working the food truck was very friendly and personable. I quickly ordered baked goods for myself and my boys, figuring I better not come home empty handed. The Cinnamon roll was amazing. I was a little nervous it was going to be more of a biscuit with cinnamon and icing. It was a perfectly rolled roll of yummy goodness. I am glad it was not larger or I might have been in a sugar coma. My youngest had the Concha. As he bit into it, he stated, Wow. This is amazing! I am glad they are finishing up their shop, as I look forward to buying more awesome treats. The prices were reasonable and service was top notch. Great addition to Kyle!

Had the happy face cookie, tres leches, and pineapple upside down cake which were all delicious. This was my first time so I learned to get here early or preorder because they sell out fast. I m looking forward to trying the empanadas next because the mini ones on the pineapple upside down cake were scrumptious.

Went Specifically to get meat empanadas and I was disappointed by the size of the items. Over cooked dry, bland and small bite size. Was expecting something substantially larger in size for the price. Seems like something you would serve as hors d oeuvres. The coffee was good. Haven t tried the other bake good. I Try to support local businesses I hope they will improve their product.

Mini conchas were super soft and warm. They are pretty small so I got 12 for a family of 4. We also got pan de polvo heart shape cookies and empanadas. Im not really an empanada fan but Im willing to trying them. I tried the pineapple and Apple and they were AMAZING. I love how the edges were a little crispy and the filling was delicious and not mushy like I have had at other places. I will definitely go back.
