What a great brunch !! We had the Eggs Benedict and Union Breakfast - they were delicious. The eggs were scrambled perfectly and the sausage was tasty. The service was excellent. They are very consistent with great food - either brunch or dinner !! We have had dinner in their bar area one night and the atmosphere was awesome. I highly recommend a visit.

Somehow a negative review was posted by me last week. I dont know how this happened. That said, we had an excellent experience at The Union Kitchen. The food was wonderful and the service was kind and attentive. The mimosas were very reasonably priced and we had a great time.

We celebrated a birthday dinner with a party of 15. The drinks were excellent and the food was good. Unfortunately, the service was slow and the food arrived at different times. It took them forever to bring our Happy Hour drinks. The appetizers are way overpriced, with 6 carnitas egg rolls costing $16?!?! Ive had better experiences here and they couldve done better.

Visited on a Sunday for brunch. Since we didnt have a reservation, we were sent to the bar. The waitress was slow to welcome us, we were getting to the point of considering leaving. She was also slow to take our order. We had to flag down someone else about the coke syrup being low. The food was decent. Not sure if was worth the price.

Really disappointing, my first time to here I normally do not post things like this but I was Extremely dissatisfied in the service. It took awhile to get asked for my order luckily I wasn t in a rush. Bar area and tables in the area were not clean and other customers were having to ask to get them cleaned so they could sit. What was truly disappointing was hearing the staff make comments about customers, their lack of customer service overall service disappointing and will not return.

I m sorry it took me so long to post! But big shoutout to this location. It was our first time coming in, I made a reservation for Mother s day. Was a large party. My husband and I were in the industry so I know how it is on Mother s day. They had it perfectly set up for us when we arrived, love that. All the staff is super friendly and we were well taken care of. We had one kitchen mishap where one person (a mother) ended up waiting a long time for their dish. I can t remember the managers name, so sorry! But he was stellar! Took the problem in his own hands and got it solved for us ASAP. He was super cool and apologized profusely for the problem. The specialty drinks were AMAZING, so yummy and the food is definitely a 10/10! I m going back today for lunch, can t wait!

The only good thing about this restaurant is the manager. She is very friendly and inviting everyone else is kind of phoning it in. Compared to the other union this one is not very good. Every time I go, it seems to have some screaming kids and servers who could care less about your order or the atmosphere. I m going to start going to another union kitchen maybe 40 miles away because I do like the food. It s a shame the one near my house sucks.

Love this place. The food never disappoints and they always have unique options on their menu. I would consider the price to be medium high, but the food really is excellent and the servings are a good size. They are big on making reservations (even when not busy) so be sure to do that before going just in case you happen to show up on a busy day.

Our server was very nice and polite. It was our first time there and we had a few questions and he was quick to find out the answers if he didnt know. The honey Sriracha salmon was prepared perfectly! The dish with chicken, capers, artichokes and pasta was good too but we suggest they prepare the chicken grilled and not breaded. The pepperoni pizza was a bit oily. Maybe too much cheese? And the crust needed to be a bit crisp on the bottom. The short rib grilled cheese has sauted onions on it but it didnt say so on the menu so my son was a bit frustrated that he had to pick them off. The crab and tuna tower was AMAZING! So was the queso. I will for sure gave these again.

I hosted a dinner here earlier this month for clients that were heading off on overseas travel to Africa the next day (Im a travel agent & safari specialist ). I had previously visited the locations in Bellaire / West U & Memorial, so this was my first time visiting the Kingwood location. Our server was either named Adam or Alex (hopefully, Im recalling correctly here ), he was very attentive & on point with service and catering to our needs. Food was divine & atmosphere cozy. The team was also very thorough in terms of checking & clarifying as to which desserts did & did not have nuts as I have an allergy. Would highly recommend & come again !

Ill be honest, I was not expecting the food to be this good. My coworker and I were traveling through the area for work and just picked a place close to our hotel for dinner after a long day, and it greatly exceeded our expectations. We ordered the goat cheese and chicken satay apps, both of which were amazing. The chicken skewers came out at the perfect temperature, and the sweet/spicy glaze on them was amazing. The goat cheese dip was fantastic, but if I had to make one tiny critique (and Im really stretching here), the bread that comes with it is good but could be better. For entrees, I ordered the meatloaf and was pretty blown away. The green beans and mashed potatoes tasted so fresh, and the meatloaf itself might be the tastiest meatloaf Ive ever eaten. My friend had the double porkchop and was equally impressed. For dessert, I figured I couldnt go wrong with the bread pudding, and I was right...it was delicous.

Didn t even get to try it. Tried to take my team out for a late lunch/early dinner and we waited 5 mins at the front before even being seated. One of my team members had to call the restaurant to get a staff member to even come to the front. When a staff member finally came forward, his first interaction was if we had a reservation. No greeting. I told him no and asked if we needed one and he said no, just needed to know to mark off the list. We were sat and the place was not that busy. After that interaction, we decided we did not want to even try the restaurant out.

There is a union kitchen by my house in garden oaks that is fantastic so i decided to check this place out. I got the voodoo balls which tasted great but were served all spaced out on the onion rings and since it was so cold in there they werent very hot when I got them. Maybe they would be better served in a pile on a bed of the onion rings? My friend got the shrimp and grits which had a great flavor but is served in a lake of sauce. Personally I think it could use more grits to balance the amount of sauce especially for 22 dollars.

Service was horrible. We were sat by the host who after seating us decided to stand at the table behind us for a good 20 minutes and hit on the three ladies until his boss came and asked if he was still on her clock. They exchanged a few vocal jabs at each other and then he sat with the ladies until they left. All the while we waited for a waitress. She brought us water and again disappeared. Once she took our order we waited again and my appetizer was wrong so we sent it back and it was replaced with still frozen cheese sticks. Those were sent back. Once they came back they were soggy like they had been microwaved. They tasted horrible. Our meal s came out and my steak was well done not medium rare and the mashed potatoes were so dry. The manager came by and asked how the food was and I shared the issues- which was a waste of time. She just stared and asked if she could remake my meal- by now we had been at the restaurant for well over 2 hours and I had not had anything to eat. I declined and once it came time to get the check and ask for my dessert (which comes with the special menu meal) I was given an uncooked apple cobbler, and explained why they didn t cook it. The meal alone was 39+ and to say the least I was upset. They tried giving us a 10.00 coupon for when we returned. Nothing on this menu is under 15.00. The sides alone are 12.99 for a side of veggies or mashed potatoes. I told the waitress to give it to another table as we would not be returning. I would never recommend visiting as the food was all reheated and it would be less expensive to eat at Applebees for the quality and hospitality.

I made a reservation earlier tonight and the person that answered the phone asked me if we were celebrating anything special. I said yes, were celebrating our anniversary. When we get to the restaurant we were sat immediately and the waitress did come over and say she would be with us shortly. We ordered our food, which was a simple order. I ordered a steak, medium and a salad. My wife ordered a pasta dish and a bowl of soup. I was surprised how fast the salad came out. We thought the soup would follow shortly, but it never did arrive. When the waitress brought our main dishes I asked her what happened to the soup. She said she forgot. Not Im sorry, but I forgot. My wifes pasta dish was very good but my steak was overcooked. As I mentioned at the beginning of this review we were asked if we were celebrating anything special but nothing was ever mentioned during the time we were there. We normally go to either Mortons, Trulucks or Flemings for special occasions. And they always, make it memorable. This place did not acknowledge our celebration at all. I dont think well be going back here anytime soon. It was not a place that made us feel welcome and appreciated.

We felt so bad for our waiter because it was just too much and not enough staff. We had a reservation so I am assuming that others did too. My question is, if you know about how many guest are coming to your restaurant s event, why didn t management pre-plan with how many employees were needed? Other than the slow service, the food and environment were great. The Barbie event, to include the menu, were cute. The portions are huge! I will return for the food but not for events.

Be prepared that it is a little pricey (like $12 salad), but the food is superb. Fresh made and flavorful. On the Green goddess dressing on the wedge salad, you could taste the fresh herbs. Their Union burger was perfectly balanced. Doesnt not look like much on the outside, but the inside is clean and nice, the service was super professional, and excellent food. Would be perfect for date nite. Parking: large lot shared with other businesses.

Our first time eating here. We ordered our food to-go. Unfortunately the food was bland. I was truly shocked and disappointed as I anticipated fine cuisine. The blackened shrimp were pale, pink, flavorless and had a strong shrimp smell; definitely NOT blackened. The grits were drowning in a flavorless cajun cream sauce that made the grits soupy. The crab cakes were flat, dry, resembled pancakes and were mediocre. I dont mind paying more for high quality food but these particular food items definitely fell below the bar.

This place is always amazing. We hosted a wedding rehearsal dinner last week. We were so impressed with the attention to all our details and wishes. Nadia met with us to go over the details and she didn t miss a thing! It felt like our own private restaurant. The servers were outstanding, the food was incredible. This is a well managed restaurant with staff that truly cares (the bartenders are always great btw). This event needed to be perfect. Thanks to Nadia and her team, it was!

We ve wanted to eat at a Union Kitchen for 5 years or more now. We finally decided to take the plunge and give it a go. Sadly, none of the dishes we ordered warranted the lofty asking price. The asparagus crab appetizer was the highlight of our experience. Worth the asking price? Maybe. The pizza was akin to a pizza one would get from the frozen section of HEB. I read it was brick oven pizza, and if it was, it was the worst wood fired pizza ever. Not an ounce of crisp or chewy. I reckon we can find better pizzas in the school cafeteria. The waiter B asked us how the Pizza was and we shared that it was alright but he knew by the looks on our faces that it was disappointing. He didn t care enough to ask if there was anything else he could get us to make us 100% satisfied. The Union Kitchen Kingwood may have an apathy problem in staff circles. Tyler s Pasta was too soft and maybe acceptable for indiscriminate taste buds; it was merely on par with other chain standards like carrabas or zamittis. For the asking price one would expect bread or something on the side to contrast the boring overcooked nature of the dish and maybe justify the cost. All in all, in this day and age, an $80 couples place has to be good the first time or else we will not go back to risk a 2nd hit to our wallets. To further add to this subpar experience, we were ready to give the desserts a try, but before we were even offered or handed a dessert menu, B the waiter brought over our check; wife and I looked at each other and decided not to even bother spending another penny at the UK Kingwood if they were so fast to conclude the experience. Inflation has killed our enthusiasm for culinary adventure so every trip has to be near perfect. Sadly the outlay was not worth the hassle. Maybe the burger is good??? Oh well. On an aside and if it couldn t get any worse, two clean plates smelled of egg and annoyingly, they played country music in a restaurant I Initially figured was hip. We ll spend our money for New American grub at Hungry s, Bellagreen, Local Table, Black Walnut and a host of other attentive, inventive American restaurants 20 miles south of Kingwood. And before anyone wonders: no, we did not speak to a manager; it s not like there was hair in the food. If anything, the manager needs to come say hello to us first timers and thank us for visiting. ( Host asked if this was the first time visiting). Also, we were two of only 8 people in the main dining area. It was not busy at all. Come on UK mgmt.. take a vetting trip to the Texas Roadhouse for the Union s sake.

I really dont know what happened here. This restaurant used to be my GO TO restaurant. It used to be THE place to take the mother-in-law and my wife for brunch. Ive even given the place two chances post-pandemic. Maybe its just me. But the food had gone down. I went on a night they had a steak special - it was really bad - 1/4 thick and overcooked. I NEVER SEND BACK FOOD - but that time it was just too much. Now, I will always support local restaurants - I hate having to drive downtown mostly. But Mothers Day was the last straw. My son was excited to bring his Mom to brunch. He got all dressed up :-) and then we got there. The staff was not on its game. An elderly lady was coming out and they just stood in her way. The lady wasnt moving that fast, so the staff being too distracted is not really an excuse. I even mentioned to my son that he should move so that nice lady can get through. And that kind of lackluster service was what we experienced. It was Mothers Day, so some exceptions need to be made on a busy day. But. like everyone there, we had reservations. If the staff is being overloaded by a known number of guests, then isnt it a good idea to take fewer reservations than to risk no reservations? Maybe its just me. When a server asks me for a drink order, I sort of expect to get it without asking for it. When my son asks for a cheeseburger plain and dry and it comes fully loaded, theres a bit of a problem. Again, I just took all the stuff off his cheeseburger and told him to eat it. There was a total lack of customer service. I didnt give one star because I know restaurants are a hard business. And I do hope they can improve and be what they once were. But in the mean time, Ill just have to find someplace else until I decide to give them another chance.

If you want to indulge yourself with different flavors, it is the place to go. It is on the high end of my budget to go every day, but it is worth going once in a while. I had a very refreshing strawberry pimms (I liked it because it was not very sweet) & the chimichurri steak, with extra chimichurri. I have been there 3 times & have not been able to steer away from that steak(only recommend if you have known about this flavor before), but I have been told everything else is good. So enjoy...

I have been coming here for a few years and have always enjoyed dining in. But this place was never my favorite to say, my wife loves this place. Last Saturday after a failed attempt to dine jb at Saltgrass. I agreed to come here instead. Not too thrilled but it was date night. Skip ahead to the great drinks and this phenomenal Short Rib that they recently added to the menu. This place could use a little more finesse on the atmosphere department. But staff is always friendly and again, that Short Rib I will be back for.

In the culinary desert of Kingwood, many flock to the watering hole that is the Union Kitchen by the 59. The all star studded cast is led by Netty and big John. Netty finesses the front of the house like a chess board sashaying personality at every table while ensuring that the wait staff are up the the franchise standard. The Maestro of the kitchen Big John ensures that the food exhibits consistency while standing miles apart from other American joints in the area. The front of house is graced ny his presence as he brings plates out to the customer making them feel as V.I.P as a box seat in the Minute Maid theater. The most talented waiters are Barbara for her Southern hospitality and fast pace while another keeps you laughing with her light hearted Witt and hilarious sense of humor. While they are a casual rustic eatery, they continue to be the heartbeat of Kingwood.

The restaurant was really nice with wood decor and white linen table cloths. It was quiet and gave off an intimate feel. Or appetizers were soup, carnita eggrolls, and the Nola ( New Orleans Louisiana) voodoo balls. All were delicious. The tomato and basil soup had a rich tomato flavor, and the herbs added a brightness. The carnita eggrolls had two sauces, rouxmalade and a salsa verde. Both tasted great with the carnitas. One was spicy, and one caliente. The Nola balls were a bbq delight with a hit of heat. For the main courses, we got the chimichurri steak and the miso seabass. The steak was juicy and tender with a great steak taste. The chimichurri, for me, added to the steak flavor, pumping it up a notch. For my husband, he wanted a harder hit of the chimichurri flavor. The seabass was undercooked. The waitstaff (Alex) offered to have it fixed, but I declined. The manager (John) also offered to correct the situation, but I was good with bringing it home and finishing the cook there. John did remove the cost from our bill (which was such an outstanding move). The manager, John and Alex, are what will make me go back to a place to eat. Mistakes happen...how you deal with them is what makes a good restaurant great. I highly recommend eating here prices are on point, food is delicious, and a great staff makes this one of my go-to places to eat a wonderful meal with a great atmosphere.

UPDATE!! This place has gone down hill BIG time!! The food and service is absolutely terrible!! They staff turnover is nearly 100% in less than a year. The quality is nothing like it use to be. Very disappointing to say the least. We have been going there for the last 7 years and after the our last several visits, we would much rather take our business elsewhere. This place is a great restaurant. Never had a bad experience coming here, have been here for brunch, happy hour and dinner. The food is usually prepared quickly and is well-portioned, Im usually full by the time Im done. Great decor and atmosphere in a very convenient location. My only criticism is that their brownie dessert was more like a big slice of chocolate cake, than what I would usually expect a brownie to be (at least it was the last time I had it). Definitely my favorite restaurant in Kingwood. Parking: Its in a shopping center, theres an abundance of parking all around

My wife and I have been to this place multiple times. We have brought several friends with us as well. However; its been slowly declining in quality for the past 3 visits. We took a friend there this past Wednesday. Terrible. The appetizer was lame (chips stale & dip barely warm), soup brought to the table with the meal was not warm, not tasty at all and the meal was just so-so. We were FANS of this place for over a year. What is going on !? The only good thing about this visit was the service. It was very good (Rachel).
