Update: For those who dont know this restaurant has closed. Found a hidden gem on rancier today. Mak Mamas Coney Cafe. They have been opened about 2 months but I would just pass by the restaurant thinking that the restaurant hadnt opened for business yet. Well yesterday I had to pickup a delivery from there so while I was there I decided to try an item on the menu. I tried the open faced cheesesteak with fries and a piece of homemade strawberry cake. That open face cheesesteak was slamming, and the strawberry cake was awesome. Cant wait to try something else off the menu. I highly recommend that you try them out you will be pleasantly surprised

I have been trying to catch this place opened for three weeks until I finally got out to read the sign. Hours change with the weather we ll how rude! I understand when you don t have the staff but you make your own hours. The Philly cheesesteak was horrible. I was so sick the day after I vomited for what seemed like hours. The grease was so much at the bottom of the dish I had to use napkins to soak it up. I ve had my share of Philly cheesesteaks sandwiches and never have I ever had one this overpriced and disgusting. The seasoning was over powered. You don t let seasoning overpower your food. I know seasoning can make or break your dish and this one broke the mold. I won t ever order Philly cheesesteaks sandwich again the cook or restaurant recipe person should go back to the drawing board with this one. Philly cheesesteaks is meant to be original and authentic this sandwich was beyond original or authentic. Nothing wrong with different but $14 for a greasy death sandwich nah I ll pass. The fries were over cooked as well it doesn t take long to overcook fries. When you lift the sandwich it falls apart due to the amount of grease in the bottom. I get wanting to be there for your grandkids or kids but that little girl has no business behind the counter. No only is she a child she s a hazard and anything could happen with her behind the counter. Teach them while there young it s not the 17th century you can t put kids to work for fun when you have mandated laws

The service was super friendly and the place is clean. Portions are very generous and you wont leave hungry. I had the wing plate my best friend had the open faced Philly. I highly recommend you try both because they were so delicious. I will be back for the mushroom Swiss burger and a beer as soon as they get their liquor license. This place is a hidden Killeen gem. Brought in a family of 10, including 5 energetic kids. Every one of us was very happy with our meal. The food was good, for sure, but the winner was the Philly Cheese Steak. Amazing sandwich!! We met just about everyone who was there working. They would come over to make sure everything was to our satisfaction and would chat for a minute or so. I love this place!! Going to be a regular destination now!

Hubby was craving hot dogs this evening and I let him choose where wed eat tonight and he chose Mak Mamas. Let me tell yall something....before we even ordered the food the love, appreciation and energy Miss Mak shared with us was all I needed! The owner is so sweet, friendly and loves her clientele! She loves what she does and it shows. We ordered Coneys, chili cheese fries, wings and a deluxe chicken pita. EVERYTHING was delicious! We had absolutely no complaints. Thank you all for the warm, genuine welcome and delicious food. We will definitely be back to just bask in the love and good company!

I was very disappointed I had bought one mushroom swiss burger and corned beef burger with 2 sides of fries. Fries were burnt and the burgers were like kid burgers very small and not very flavorful. I hope I caught them on a bad night but I was very shocked coming from all of the positive reviews.

The food is amazing but the wait it s a total wreck. I waited in the drive thru for 15 min to order only for her to tell me to drive forward I waited 30 minutes at the window and then got out of my car and went inside to see what the problem was and she told me she haven t started my one little order so I simply asked for a refund and it took another 15 for her to refund me my money!!! Elba is not a good fit for this job she slow and do not know how to run the kitchen and front counter alone!!! I am very disappointed in the service! A total of 60 min wasted!!!!

Let me start by saying. Thats the first time I ate a steak sandwich with a fork. Lol it was awesome. I was expecting a Philly cheese steak. Its not that. But they took the idea and made it theyre own. They named it the open faced Philly. It was very colorful and thesteak was tender. It softened up the bread and it was delightful. I drove by ad saw the store and turned around to go try it. Thankful that I did. I was having a over all bad day. When I entered the store I was greeted by the sound of the band playing live music, Which took my mind off of everything. Then I was greeted by mama Mak. She came from the back cooking to greet me. Then when I was leaving. Mr MOJO from the band stopped to give me his card and talk, even a hug. Thank you for being yourself. It can bring brightness and comfort to someones day without even trying. This place is awesome. Ill be back to try more menu items. Love the atmosphere. Theres no other place like it in killeen.great customer service.

One of my best experiences in Texas yet! On Saturday June 4, 2022, my family and I stopped in to try it out based on a neighbor s recommendation. We were greeted warmly upon entering by the owner herself. Food was amazing! Service was amazing! Mak, herself, is an absolute INSPIRATION!!!! Stop on in and ask her about her story some time and you ll see what I mean. Food is true to her roots (fellow Michigander here). And her heart is as big as the size of Texas itself! She is a small business owner who truly appreciates her community and their support and gives back as much (honestly if not MORE) than the support she receives! We left Mak Mama s with both our tummies AND our souls well nourished!! Cannot recommend enough!!!!!

I just found out about Mak Mama s. I very seldom come on this side of town, but I drove past today and told myself I could use a good coney cause Sonic ain it lol I parked, read the most recent reviews first, and I was sold :) Miss Mamas greeted me soon as I walked in. She is really sweet, and I only came in here expecting to spend $5 for a coney, and I ended up purchasing a whole combo and leaving a tip just because of the southern hospitality. I m from the South so it means a lot when a business, food especially can match my energy! Oh, and the restroom is really clean, just like she told me. The whole place is a vibe so I shall return :)

The photos attached are screenshots from the various credit accounts the owner, her daughter, and son in law have in my 11 year old sons name. The son in law is incarcerated for identity theft or possession of the materials you can use to steal and identity. The daughter has several pending cases for stealing and fraud. She uses drugs heavily as well. I wouldn t take my dog her to eat unless I wanted his information stolen. If you are a patron tread lightly, use CASH ONLY, and don t ever trust these FRAUDS

Mama was the sweetest thing ever. I came to the drive through to redeem a free chillie cheese dog (mamas daughter gave me this offer due to them being out of hot dogs in April when I came in). First time Tim and I have eaten here, the establishment was very clean and nice looking. Staff very friendly, they made us feel at home; something you don t get everyday when going out to eat ! I believe this place has great potiential. I ordered a sweet tea, a Bacon Swiss Cheese Burger. Tim ordered the same thing. When our food was brought to us, we tasted our tea, the tea was instant tea. I feel this place could do a lot better if they served fresh breed sweet tea! Everyone in the South loves fresh breed sweet tea !! The burger was good, but too much grease on the bun made our buns soggy, so maybe drain the grease some, no one likes wet soggy bread. Then the French fries, good and crispy, but still you can taste the frozen frie taste. I believe switching to grease cut fries with do a lot of good!!! Over all it was nice and clean. But still room for improvement.

The staff was awesome! The food was so good fresh and hot and plenty to eat. We will be back because we are wanting to try the Philly cheese steak and the bacon mushroom burger, which we heard was very authentic. We had the coney with cheese, the cheeseburger and grilled cheese with french fries and onion rings

Nice and homey feel. A real hole in the wall spot. Great food and vibes, portions can satisfy any hungry man. The owner makes an effort to communicate and make customers feel comfortable. Coney Special, Grilled Chicken Pita, and the Philly are amazing.

With no luck being able to order online I ve called the number google provided for this restaurant SEVERAL times with No Answer smh. And I called a lot!
