As much as I would love to continue liking this place, I dont think its just meant to be anymore. We used to love this place before the pandemic, mainly the butcher board and whiskey cake. The whiskey cake remains their staple but overall all of the other food is underwhelming and overpriced. Their drunken mussels were delicious but many of their mussels were also empty. May take us a few years again before we try them again.

The food was good, and the service was trash. Constantly looking for when she did walk by, its like she didnt want to stop. I had to flag her down. Had to ask another waitress for help. I believe she said her name was LT. LT had a great attitude and was super sweet. The whiskey cake is amazing! The drink was ok. I had the great escape, and it was super bitter. Couldnt find my waitress, so I stopped LT, and she got my drink all the way right for me. My husband had a bourbon flight, which is a sampler of 4 whiskeys. Great date night minus the service. The hostess was very nice and upbeat! For food, we had the duck legs nice flavor, but meat was overcooked and dry. Hubby had a burger it was good and juicy with great flavor. I had a salad which was small but still good.

Its the first time we visited this restaurant and we were really impressed. I went to celebrate a friends birthday last Friday and our server Jose Luis was great, his service and presence was impeccable, alway had a big smile, very friendly, his recommendations for both food and drinks were excellent. He helped my husband and his friends to create their own Whiskey Flights. We´ll definitely come back and ask for him

You will absolutely love this place! The whiskey cake is TO DIE for literally, take my life for this cake the food is sooooo good there isnt one thing Ive had that isnt good. Big fan of the salmon and veggies, the grilled chicken and broccolini, their brunch menu is SOOO GOOD and the drinks, oh my gosh every drink is made really well, not a waste of alcohol for sure! Farmhouse Benedict is a great choice, lemon blueberry French toast and chicken and waffles, I mean I could go on and on. Every server is well trained and knowledgeable of the menu and very kind. went here for my first date with my now-husband, we go here a lot, please stop by!

The strawberry juice was horrible, very acidic, I express the dislike to the waitress but nothing was done, I asked for a coke instead, was charged for it. The food was really bad for the price, the only good thing was the ribeye steak, how can you go wrong with ribeye anyway. I was forced to leave a $30 tip, when I asked for a lower % I was told that I couldnt change it!!! Not coming back here

My husband and I havent been here in a while and its one of our favorite restaurants. We dont like the changes. Going to corporate? Brother ew.... I didnt like how the fries were changed from the amazing garlic shoestring fries to whatever was served to me. The burger I had was still amazing, the steak my husband had was still phenominal, the service was awesome, and the atmosphere is still Whiskey Cake. The biggest thing of all, they are getting rid of the WHISKEY BIBLE.... which is one of the things Whiskey Cake is known for....

3 star only because of the positive upper scale themed restaurant. Remember the word theme. The presentation is nice, that s basically what your paying for besides the exclusive wide range of exquisite whiskey that they offer. I loved our waiter, the restroom concept is cool and stylish. Again the key word is Theme when you get sold for the theme you will fall for anything. We ordered the Goat cheese Fondue, Chile Glazed Duck Wings, and Crab Crawlers for appetizers. Duck wings were fire crab crawlers were slightly above average. Goat cheese was sub par. Their mustard seed ketchup was slappin !!! I ordered the Tavern Burger Medium rare. The burger was good only because of the quality of meat they used. The flavor was bland, no seasoning at all. The fries were cooked way to hard. I ordered the Mac n cheese, that tasted like velveeta mac and cheese. I didn t take a pic, I only ate one spoon full. My meal was a solid 2 only because of the quality of meat they used for my burger. Would I come back here, perhaps. I took my family here so they could try it. My sister ordered the Chicken Cheese & Melt. She enjoyed it. But my in person experience was sub par. I ordered to go a month ago. The chickenBirdger I ordered at that time was really good, and so were the fries! I was pretty disappointed with my meal this go round. If you never been here, I would say. Try it out!

My husband and I came to Whiskey Cake in Katy to celebrate our anniversary. When we entered the restaurant no one was at the hostess stand. A girl with green hair came to the stand. I was expecting her to acknowledge us in some way. However, she ignored us, grabbed some menus, and walked away. A minute later someone else (who I assume was a hostess) walked up a greeted us. She was very welcoming and seated us. We then waited approximately 12 minutes at our table with no contact from anyone. We watched as servers walked by our table but we were never asked for our drink orders or for food. We ended up leaving the restaurant without having had any contact from a server. I m very disappointed in the lack of service we received for our special night.

Today my family brought me here for Father s Day for the first time. And I would like to say I enjoyed my meal, and the environment was nice as well. Our server Ms.Naria was phenomenal!!! My food was good even though I wanted my burger medium/well, but it looked more medium/rare. Putting it in the oven at home fixed that. The service was great. Nice lady and good timing for everything. My only major complaint was the guy working in the bakery area that kept coughing WAY too close to the flour. Put a mask on if you cant properly cover your mouth as a grown man. Gross!

As a vegetarian, there is a wide selection to choose from the menu, while my lunch companions are omnivores. Food is fresh, fresh, fresh, and even the sour dough bread is handmade for the Avocado Toast that went along with the Roasted Brussels Sprouts and the Fried Green Tomatoes. All my items were large enough to be sharable. Our server, a very amiable young man, was informative and attentive to our needs. Once our orders arrived (very quickly, I should mention), everyone got busy loading their plates, so unfortunately, I was unable to take any photos. But trust me, it was worth the 50-mile round trip to join my friends and try Whiskey Cake Kitchen!! My family and I LOVE this place and come often, so it was very surprising that our family night our dinner yesterday was terrible. Our hostess and waiter were WONDERFUL i cant say that enough! This review is ONLY about the food. We had the steak fritte, chicken and waffles and 2 smoked salmon meals as well as deviled eggs for an appitizer. The 2 salmon plates came out dressed so differnt from each other I had to ask if it was even the smae meal....One had an overload of the side item while the other had about a 1/2 cup of wilted veggies. 3 of the 4 meals were SO HEAVY handed on the salt I was sick to my stomach by the time we left. Our waiter offered to correct the other salmon dish but my hubby declined so no fault at al to him on that. I was shocked that the food was so over salted.....This is never happened there bf. I hope it is better next time.

Dinner out with my friends. We ate and talked a long time. No pressure from the staff to hurry up and leave. We really enjoyed our night at Whiskey Cake. Vegetarian options: The Harvest Shepherd Pie was really good.

Food was absolutely wonderful. Husband raved about the burger and my kale and shredded chicken salad was divine!! The whiskey cake for dessert was excellent, husband said! Glutinous- so, not for me. Their fresh cream was delicious with my strawberry ice cream! We will return!

Always go to this restaurant whenever Im in Katy to see my customers. Their salad is so fresh and delicious! Ive had steak here as well, but the salad is the bomb! I also recommend the duck wings. You havent had wings until you have the duck wings, folks. Its full of flavor and fat lol Go for the spicy sauce. As for dessert, get yourself a slice of whiskey cake. I guarantee that you will need a nap afterwards.

I was very late when I got there. The kitchen was closed. 10:30pm. But they were kind enough to provide service to me and family. Unfortunately the food was not tasty at all. Not even the desert . I might try another time to see is service is better as well.

This place is pretty dang awful compared to other restaurants in the area. They have a a chef who sheds in all the food, the service is clueless, it s pretty awful. Good luck getting a drink with any alcohol content. Weak sauce. 3/10 will not return.

I come to this location at least twice a week for dinner to go. The food is very consistent, which is a rarity now days. The staff is extremely friendly. The bartenders Kris, John, and Molly makes the experience and atmosphere feel more like a more welcoming and cozy. If there was an option for more stars I would select that! Love this place!

I have came to this lovely restaurant with my family for a formal dine in experience in addition to sitting at the bar with my wife / friends. The customer service is great, food is delicious, and drinks are top of the line. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a family dine in experience, date night, and/or a drink to go along with the astros with some buddies!

This is our favorite Friday night (and sometimes midweek) place to go! The dishes have a unique twist and the drinks are always so fun and fresh. Molly makes the best mules and old fashioneds and I love getting to chat with Onyx when we stop by. Highly recommend!

Ive wanted to try this place for a while. The drinks are delicious & sexy. I cant describe how a drink can be sexy but they are lol. The food was good also. The cobb salad is tasty & the rigatoni was very tasty. For dessert, we had the whiskey cake, a little too sweet for me, but the few bites that I had were good. I didnt get a picture of the entrées before we dug in.

Went here for Easter brunch, and everything was simply amazing: food, atmosphere, service, drinks, everything. This was our first visit but definitely not our last. We had jalapeno biscuits(AMAZING), chicken and waffles, duck wings, grits and the prime rib special. Everything was very tasty. We did the whiskey flight with dessert and what a great tret. Very well done by ALL!
