Before I found Shields Law I felt helpless and completely broken. As a mother of a child whos special needs, all I want is for my son to have the same opportunities as every one else. I contacted plenty of law firms but no one could help me because they were not educated or didnt specialize in special education law. Finding Shields Law truly was a God send. They listened, empathized, talked us through the best route for our case, they were very easy to get ahold of but most importantly they fought hard for my son. There was never a time where we didnt know what was going on. Andrea is who we worked with, words cant describe how safe she made us feel and how strong she is. She will definitely fight for you. Kodi, she was amazing. She kept us up to date about everything and me being terrible at checking my email, shed call to inform us about emails we missed. Her communication helped us stay on top of everything. I am so thankful to have found Shields Law and to have worked with the people I did. To any parent whos trying to seek help when it comes to special education rights, 10 out of 10 I recommend shields law.

Liz Shields did a great job helping me obtain Guardianship of my son. I contacted her about 12 months prior to my sons 18th birthday. She let me know what the steps would be so we could plan appropriately. She filed the petition as early as possible so things would run smoothly. I appreciate how Liz made this transition in my sons life runs smoothly.

Blown away by the care and detail that went into this process. Andrea went above and beyond in representing us and despite how difficult it is to go this route as parents, it was necessary and we couldn t have picked a better firm to advocate for us, fight for us, and represent us. Kevin was very understanding of our frustrations with being denied learning disability accommodations and support for our child who had been diagnosed with a specific learning disability. He was very knowledgeable of many disabilities and impairments. Kevin s help was monumental in acquiring the attention, services, and justice needed for our child to be successful academically and emotionally. In addition he gave assistance on how to receive testing for an additional learning disability that the school repeatedly dismissed and denied us as parents when we asked for help and testing. Attorney Shields was very intuitive and helpful at giving me clarity of what to do in my situation with my son, which is a SP-ED student. Even if he is unable to represent you he will reference you to help and resources that can. Even his team members are very polite and gave me a sense of surerity in coming to a resolution in my case. My child , of course, is a very sensitive part of my life and he assured me that what I was doing and have done to protect and advocate for my child was awesome and that I was doing a great job at it!! This Lawfirm went over and beyond for our family. My son had been neglected by the school district for several years and I didn t know what to do anymore. I would like to enthusiastically recommend Jennifer Swanson and the Shields Law Firm. After a year and a half of serious medical issues, our daughter had missed a lot of school and was unable to return without assistance. We did not know she needed access to special education services. We needed help, and contacted Shields Law Firm. Ms. Swanson explained all the options our daughter was entitled to and helped us navigate due process successfully. She also helped us prep for our ARD meeting and attended with us. Ms. Swanson made sure we completely understood every step of the process. She was available to answer any question we might have, no matter how small. During the ARD, Ms. Swanson made sure everything was clear and helped us reach the best possible solution for our daughter. Her knowledge and expertise made the ARD process much less stressful. I am very happy to say that our daughter now has all the help she needs to be successful. This would not have been possible without Jennifer Swanson.
