A good place to stop in and have a drink and something to eat. People friendly . Stopped by a second time in same day and got a good glass of sweet tea for heading home. Parking: If you ride a motorcycle or trike, and your lucky, you can park by the front door. Large parking spots for cars or bikes.

We went to Auntie Skinner s about 2 pm on a Thursday. I had a hand breaded Chicken Fried Steak with White Gravy, sautéed Cabbage, side salad, and Texas Toast. Absolutely amazing!!! My husband had Chicken Fried Chicken and White Gravy, real mashed potatoes, fried okra, and Texas Toast. Scrumptious. Great food and service was fine. On the downside, this is a bar. This time a man came to the bar near us and started smoking. Negative on Atmosphere because of that. Handicapped access is not there as far as we could see and restrooms are up a few stairs which are difficult if mobility is a problem, no handicapped bathroom access or rails. Previous times there are bands, loud music, and smoking. How about No smoking until evening???? There were seven or eight kids eating when the man came in and started smoking.

Loved the atmosphere. Our server( didnt catch his name) was nice. The food was okay. My husbands order came out much later than mine but the waiter comped his meal which was nice of him. Our server was amazing and did try to apologize for the environment. It was just myself and my daughter on a trip for her birthday. Staff were running around acting like two year old children. Throwing things at each other. And the owner was standing right there, allowing this behavior in front of guests. And allowing a group at the bar that were yelling obscenities and chain smoking like there was no tomorrow. It was ridiculous. Will not return. Extremely poor management. It made my daughter so uncomfortable that she did not finish her meal. And the food was extremely greasy anyway.

Poor service tonight, which is disappointing! As a resident Jeffersonian, you kind of expect the small town gestures, but that wasnt the case on this particular visit... a handful of the staff, and even a member of management were particularly rude this evening. We dont visit often, but when we do, were normally treated very well, with a kind smile or even a hug and and friendly its been a while or we havent seen you in a while and a great deal of respect and gratitude, but for some reason that wasnt the case this go round. Maybe we just dont need to visit on a Friday evening? Or maybe we just dont need to visit at all?!

Update: I had to come back here while in town! Again, service was amazing and food was too good! The portions are Texas sized and the drinks my brother had were legit. The young lady who was bartending was just so sweet and had great service skills! Was also very knowledgable. It wasnt yet busy when we came this time so I think thats why our food came out quickly. Im giving the 5 stars because this place has been on my mind since the first visit! Will definitely be back for more! My husband and I came here a few weekends ago. I enjoyed the atmosphere of this place! The people and employees were pretty great and entertaining. Food was great! Good quality, hot and fresh when served! I took 1 star off because it did take what seemed like and hour for the food to come out, but thats not a deal breaker to not come back. Will most definitely be back for more!

Weve eaten here whenever were in town. Will not make that mistake again. There was an event that weekend and the restaurant was not staffed to handle such a large crowd. It took over 45 minutes to get our order of fried pickles. The pickles were sliced so thin it was like eating batter with a hint of pickle flavoring. Over an hour later we received our meals. My husbands muffalata was served with a big hair inside. When told our server and she spoke to the cook. He wanted to see the hair, well its somewhere on the floor now. I ordered a Philly cheese steak and it was flavorless. Luckily, the fries werent bad. I would suggest hiring more staff when there is an event in town and putting hairnets on kitchen staff. Kudos to the servers in the front who remained pleasant with frustrated diners waiting for their meals.

Used to be a great place to eat, not so much anymore. We waited over an hour and a half for our food to hit the table, and my sandwich had a 6 inch long hair in it. Told the waitress, who by the way was great, and she told the kitchen staff. They wanted to see it, but Id already thrown it on the floor. Needless to say, I was done eating and expected to at least have the sandwich removed from my bill - didnt happen. Wouldnt eat here again if you paid me! They seem to be in it just for the money and dont seem to care about pleasing customers. Very disappointed!

My son and I visited this restaurant on Saturday, October 7 around 3:00 pm. He ordered pulled pork tacos and I ordered chicken fried steak. The food was ok but the service was horrible. It took 50 minutes from the time we ordered until we got our food. The place was not even full. This was our first time to go and probably our last. Lots of complaints on how long it was taking for people to get their food. Another customer came up to us and asked as what we ordered because he knew we had been waiting so long. Got to hear all of the waitresses complain about everything that was gong on which is not really good customer service either. Not at all what we e3xpected as we had heard it was a great place to eat. It was a horrible place to eat that day.

Its no secret that a business can pay for reviews and I am confident that this facility has paid for the good reviews it has received. Ordered a ribeye steak, we are 100% it was not a ribeye! We eat ribeye steaks 3 times a week, I have even won contests cooking ribeye steaks. The shrimp was rubbery, the generic fried okra was better than the steak. The wait staff was good, seemed like one was training but thats ok, we all have to learn. I would not recommend this restaurant.

Place has a nice feel, with live music but the service for mixed drinks is horrible. I ve never seen a bar this size with only one bartender. When you order, your drink goes into a queue, and if it s busy, you wait forever. But the worst part is you don t even get a full pour! Drinks are so weak! Definitely do NOT go here. The smoking that they still allow for some reason leaves a foul taste in your mouth and noxious odor in your nose. The fact that these sweet waitresses continue to work there is surprising. Their boss clearly has no concern for them. We tried the muffaleta... I dont recommend getting it unless you love olives, bacon cheese fries were fine I guess. We wouldve wanted to try more, but the lack of fresh air is a huge turn off.

Love this place and always have to visit when Im in Jefferson. Friday night karaoke and Saturday nights I believe are live bands. Food is always so good but this trip I have the shrimp basket. Not a fan of this one. Shrimp was really fishy and the huspuppies were soggy, maybe not all the way done. Our waitress was awesome and made sure we were taken care of. As a smoker its nice to be able to sit back eat l, drink and chill and have a smoke. They have very high ceilings and air filtration in the building, so u dont walk out smelling like cigarettes. Service was pretty shaky when we first arrived. We had reserved seating for a large group but they werent set up for us and seemed agitated to have to put 2 tables together. If youre not from the area, Id advise against water or tea because the local water tastes very earthy. The food was good and the atmosphere is great. Id like to see some live music there sometime.

Smoking Allowed everywhere here, not just the bar. We brought our ten year old and we all reeked. Very slow Thursday night too. Christmas stuff in town was not worth the hype. Marshall much better with kids!
