I thought I was going to regret this! HW claim assigned Winston G for our job. Set appt, calling, no answers and full mailbox I thought was a indicator I might regret this. Justin (serving AK & MS) was our Tech. And it went smoothly. He examined and explained what needed to be done. The out of pocket $ was reasonable for the extra and our old garage is a lot more quiet and works, Thanks to Justin. He s a Keeper!

Terrible. The service person arrived at 9:30 pm, replaced the spring with the wrong size, replaced the bearings with two left instead of a right and left. Charged us $975 over what the home warranty paid ($1000). Two months later it malfunctioned again. We hired a local contractor who told us he has never seen such a shoddy job and only charged us $335 to replace everything Winston put in. So Winston overcharged $1300 and did everything wrong. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

I had a very bad experience with this Winston Garage Door. They have poor customer service and no communication with customers with appointments. They canceled appointment without no notice and never showed up to the first appointment they made. 2 weeks trying to get my garage door fix and no luck. I kept calling them and their phone line were not working. Finally got a hold of someone one to complain and they promised me that someone was showing up on Monday and appointment got canceled again. I called to complain and their customer service representative told me that the person that set appointment with me LIED about the date because they have no one in my area to come out. Still waiting for a call from the company, the rude technician said his boss would call. I called but after 30 minutes on hold gave up. It seems the repairs needed are different than was quoted to insurance and to me as they were told the sensors needed to be replaced and we not. The smug guy then quoted $550 for other parts that are not needed. There are many reviews here similar to mine with home warranty. The add crap to milk the customer out of $550 for $150 motor

DO NOT USE. Was assigned by Choice Home Warranty to fix a garage door opener. The person that showed up made up a whole bunch of random issues , generated a fake invoice and said home warranty only covered a portion of the cost to fix and the rest would have to be paid by me in addition to the service fee. After calling home warranty they confirmed that the service fee is all I need to pay and they had never received a quote. They finally sent a different company who was able to diagnose and fix the issue at no additional cost.

I was really upset when we had Winston Garage Doors out on 4/9/24 and he had to replace the rollers, spring and the cables and was told with everything he had replaced that my garage door should be good until the motor went out. On 9/4/24 I had to call and set up another service call because my door when I closed it fell and was crooked and door would not open or close and my car was now inside the garage and I could not get it out. When Winston finally got someone out on the following Wednesday 9/11/24 the service man said cable had come off the track and that it would again be charged that their warranty on the work the did in April is only guaranteed for 90 days. You would think that they would honor their work for more than 90 days. Just a piece of information, we have a home warranty which says it covers garage doors, but in fact they do not cover all the things that was fixed and replaced the springs, the cables, or the rollers. So these 2 service calls cost over $700.00 and was not covered, and the warranty from Winston did not help 6 months later

Original visit did not go well and caused my home warranty company to deny my claim. BUT, a manager in their Conneticut office (Venice) took my call and worked with me to get the problem solved. She and Winston went out of their way to make things right. In this day and age it is hard to find companies that will take the time to work with you. Thanks to Venice for being so much help. This company has over 15 open BBB cases for this exact scenario. Tried to scam us through our home warranty company He wanted $300 in cash for something our warranty covered. I have never had a technician ask for money upfront EVER and so I called the warranty company who told me to stop the technician immediately, when I called him on his lies he stormed off and refused the fix. The worst experience I have ever had! My home warranty contracts with Winston doors. I asked the technician on the phone to only repair what home warranty covers, I was out of town on business. He proceeded to replace both springs, we only needed one replaced. He came to the door once finished, told my wife we owed him $450 for the spring that he installed without approval. My wife was extremely sick and need to head to the doctor so she reluctantly paid this scammer so she could go to her appointment. I called Winston, I was told the technician claimed the repair was approved by the owner. I am the owner he talked too, I did not approve it whatsoever. DO NOT use this company! The worst company I have ever dealt with. First visit the technician did not have the proper parts.second visit he came at 7:30 in the evening . The window was 11 to 4. Third time came at 7:45pm with an 11 to 4 window . Said he rang our doorbell. of course we were at dinner so we were not home over 3 hours after the window. The Tech did a terriable job and overcharged us for work that was not needed and then gave us the run around for months. Run, dont walk from Winston Garage Doors. They are an absolute nightmare. They came to my house on June 18, 2024 to fix my garage door logic board. It is now August 19, 2024 and we have had a series of excuses from their offices, to technician no-shows for the last 2 months. Bear in mind that Amazon has the part that I need with same day delivery. A quick Youtube search explains that the replacement is done with 3 screws and 2 wires. This is literally the worst company I have ever had the displeasure with which to deal. Save yourself the aggravation and do not even consider working with this appallingly horrible company.

Rudy and Tony from Winston Garage Doors fixed my garage door opener. It required two visits for a complicated issues but they did it after the necessary parts came in. It required the two visits and several phone calls to Rudy to make sure that I didnt want an update which AHS was about to charge me for --a lot of money. He got me what I needed and it was covered under AHS. The garage door is woring well with what they did to replace parts---no upgrade. We had an estimate done on our garage in July and it was determined by Winston doors that our entire door, track, and motor needed to be replaced. We set up for them to come do the install and the estimated time of arrival was that Saturday from 11am to 3pm on July 27th. Nobody showed and we couldnt get ahold of the company. They finally called us at 9pm stating they would be by in 2 hours or could be by first thing Sunday morning at 8:30am the 28th. We agreed to the am time. They then proceeded to not show until 3pm in the afternoon. One man with an unmarked pick up arrived to install our 18ft by 6ft garage door. He unloaded all materials and then disappeared. After 2 hours he sent us a message that he forgot the motor for our garage and would be right back. He didnt rearrive until 8pm. He worked on the garage until approximately 1am. When he left, there was screws and bolts all over our garage and our driveway. The door was operational but didnt open or close well. I attempted to contact the company again that I didnt feel installation was done approximately. It is now the 12th of August and on the 10th our garage stopped working. The company was supposed to come out the 14th. From 11a-3p and they still have not shown past 12am. Cannot get ahold of the technician or the company. Theyve taken our money and ran

Kyle from Winston Garage doors came out to replace the side tracks that were dented by previous tech while installing new rollers. Kyle did a very thorough job of adjusting the tracks and alignment so the Garage door opens and close smooth and the motor is no longer making noise when opening or closing the garage door. Put in a claim with my warranty company because my garage door broke. Rudy let me know right away that my warranty only covers the garage door opener, not the garage door. He explained where everything went wrong, why the piece broke off from the garage door and explained how they were going to fix it. The customer service is terrible. Phones calls are not answered and text messages are not responded to. It took 3 days for a technician to come out for the initial appointment and another 7 days for them to return to install the part. I was told they had the part in stock. So why did it take 7 days for a simple install of a memory board to the garage opener. The actual work took the technician about 15 minutes. If they are too busy to provide faster service, they shouldnt accept the job. Athough the technician was professional, fast and knowledgeable, I would not recommend the company to anyone. With both appointments I received 2 follow up messages changing the time from the initial appointment time.

Technician was very polite, courteous and professional insurance did not cover the complete repair but the price the Tech gave me was quite reasonable. I feel the insurance is a bit inadequate for what they cover on certain items. This was a garage door opener with the complication of the spring And garage door. They covered nothing but the motor driven part of the door opener. I had to pay for the Springs. My Fivestars was primarily based on the technician that did the work. Because of minimal coverage, I would give First American about three stars.

Alberto was the tech assigned to my garage door. His window arrival time was between 6am and 12pm. At 1:30, he arrives to replace my tension springs. He then calls me to say he wont fix the garage door until I pay $800 for replacement pieces he says I need. Even claimed that there was imminent danger of the whole door collapsing. I said I was coming home from work to look at it myself. When I got home, he was gone. Didnt say anything to the person housesitting for me for this purpose. Pictures were taken and sent to Winston. Calling the place does nothing, just apology after apology but no answers. Being told my calls are being escalated and a supervisor will call me when theyre done with another customer. 4 days later...still no call. Alberto also left with my tension springs that were already paid for as well. So add theft to bad customer service and deceit. Use this company at your own risk.

Awful and horrible customer service. I had an appointment scheduled for today 8am-12pm and made special arrangements from work (I work Saturdays) and they canceled my appointment at 10 am and said they didnt have an available technician. The next window would be Wednesday 12-5. I work! Thats why I wanted it on Saturdays. Horrible horrible company customer service. Will never use them again

Winston Garage Doors LLC was assigned to repair my garage door by American Home Shield. Had an initial appointment on 7/20/2024 no call no show. Got another appointment for 7/26/2024 from 8-1pm. They showed up at 224pm. I have them on camera on how they are going to charge my home warranty for as much as they can and then charge me an out of pocket fee as well. They guy sat there after I caught them scamming and lied to my face. Well the video doesnt lie. He said I needed new springs because I couldnt lift my garage door with two fingers. Went out there and lifted it with one. He got upset he got caught and tried making other things up. Then he said he could just fix the broken part but he had to order it and left upset. The nerve of him getting upset when he was trying to scam me. There is similar complaints online of this company running the same scam on other people. I am not sure why American home warranty continues to use this shady company and why it uses out of state businesses for repairs. I have filed a complained with American home warranty and the BBB. If your home warranty assigns this company to you request another ASAP. They are dishonest and pull money grabs. There is plenty of reviews online of their practices.

First, they answer your phone when they think they have a sale then you go to voicemail if They know it s you by Caller ID because you re using a warranty company so they don t answer the warranty company calls them. They don t answer so I got believe if I have a warranty problem in the future, I ll have the same issues I think I ll pass on this company.

Do not use this company at all!!! If I could give them 0 stars I would. We contacted our home warranty provider to file a claim about our garage door. They dispatched out Winston Doors LLC. The first technician who came out was Kenneth who charged us 760.00 for our issue since it was not covered by the warranty company. Kenneth never sent the diagnosis of the issue to the warranty company. I called the insurance company several times asking where is the report from Winston Doors and they couldn t tell me. Well guess what?? Five months later we encounter the same issue with our garage called the warranty company and they send out Winston Doors again. Well, this technician gave us a different diagnosis for this problem..same problem as before. I called the warranty company of course they couldn t do anything about it. I called Winston and supposedly a supervisor will call me when they are available. I believe the home warranty company and Winston are in working together and scamming customers together. We have reported both companies with the BBB and canceled our home warranty insurance. If you were a victim of this company please do not let them get away with this!!!

Winston Garage Doors was sent to repair my garage door opener on May 3, 2024 by Choice Home Warranty. I have to pay a service fee for all service providers that come to my home for repairs. Once the technician from Winston had repaired the door opener, he recommended I replace the rollers and perform maintenance on the garage door he was working on. He said the cost would be $299.99 in addition to the service fee. I agreed for him to perform the work and the cost. When he had completed the work, he presented me his computer tablet that had the prices listed that we discussed. When he handed me the tablet, it asked if I wanted to add a Tip, I selected the button saying No Tip, hit okay and signed the work as complete. Once the receipt was emailed to me, I noticed that I was charged a credit card fee of $9.95 which was not disclosed prior to me paying, and that there were two lines on the receipt that stated they were Tax. I called Winston Garage Doors immediately and spoke with a female representative. She said she would contact the technician and get back with me. She called back the next day, 5/4/2024 @ 3:35pm and left a voicemail stating that one of the Tax lines for $30.93 was actually the Tip. I told her that I selected No Tip when completing the transaction. I also mentioned that the other tax line was not correct, and that there was no way that the tax should be $30.11 for what I paid. Most of the $299.99 for the maintenance was labor (only taxable items are the rollers), and labor is not taxed. In addition there is no tax on the Service Fee. I have yet to receive the refund or a callback from messages I have left on the companys voicemail. I requested a full refund of the Tax line for$30.93, full refund for the CC Fee of $9.95, and a refund of the difference in the adjusted amount of the actual tax. After no response, I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, which was pointless as well, because Winston Garage Doors did not respond to the BBB either. Winston Garage Doors has very unethical business practices, especially disguising a Tip as Tax. My advice would be to avoid using this company.

I did a service with this company. I schedule a day they canceled the schedule three times without notifying me when I tried to call them. No one picks up the phone no one replies and when it comes to technician stop take a look at the problem. First technician was the rudest person ever talked to didn t get the service that I wanted. When the technician finally arrived he did a good job in getting my garage door repaired. The dispatch team is difficult to work with since only 3 technicians are available to work the entire Houston area. This work was done thru a home warranty company and they must approve the work before the technician can actually begin the work. This process is tedious and leaves the tech standing around for 30 minutes before he can do a thing.

Unreliable. They first told me they had to order the part. Then they are coming for service after a month they text me that they no longer provide service to my area. Scheduled appointments were confirmed and then canceled. Very disappointed that they waited a month to notify me they couldnt service me. It was never my business for there employees to call me and complain that they are 1099 employees and cant help me.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. SCAM ALERT. UPDATE: I had a second company come out and confirm that this company only made the issue worse and also overcharged and scammed me. Since no one at this company cares about customers, I ve resorted to having go blast them on social media just to try to get someone s attention! At the end of May, my garage door broke. Though my home warranty, this company came out to fix it. After fixing the issue, the tech told me some parts will probably need to be replaced in the future but he had fixed the issue for the time being. I figured I would have some time to shop around before I had to fix it. Not even a month later the garage door broke. I set up a new appointment but they scheduled me a week later and when I asked for a sooner appointment I was ingored. The same tech came out and replaced the parts that had broken and charged me $550 which he told me was a discount. While he was showing me the new parts the garage broke again. He assured me that he had it fixed. He also mentioned he did something the lock, which I later learned only made the issue worse. FIVE days later, my garage door broke and not working again and this time my car was in my garage. I tried to open it manually but the lock was jammed. I am not sure what the guy did but he made it so my garage was completely inaccessible. Because of this issue, I had to find other modes of transportation to work. This happened on a Saturday, so I gave them a call and left a message. I had hoped they had an after hours number but it turns out they don t work on weekends which is HIGHLY inconvenient. I called again Sunday and again got a voicemail. I had to set up ANOTHER appointment through my home warranty and was told someone would reach out to me. I got a text on Monday morning that I would not be able to get a tech out here for two days. I immediately called them and they today said basically I have no choice but to wait. They have no way to send out a tech to fix the damage they have done. They had no care or sense of urgency. I asked to speak to a manager and they said none will be available for 6 hours. They seriously don t care about their customers AT ALL. Now I m resorting to blasting them on social media so that SOMEONE will give me enough of a damn to call and help me. This company responds fast when they re taking your money but when it comes to backing up their service, they are no where to be found. I WOULD NOT use this company for anything if I am ever given the choice. Do your research and find a company that WILL take care of its customers and not just take their money. UPDATE: Since my post, they have blocked my number and refused to talk to me about my issue, nor have they refunded me. UPDATE 2: I FINALLY got a manager to call me. She spent most the time arguing with me and then offers me a $75 refund. Then asked to send it via Venmo, cashapp, or Zelle. This company is SUPER SKETCHY. I don t know any other legit business that operates this way.

I used my home warranty in April for my garage door which still makes noise and they dispatched Winston Doors to fix the problem. The technician (Kenneth) showed up and I pointed it out that left bottom bracket has been damaged and bent. He didnt fix it and just told me its not under warranty and replaced rollers ($200) for no reason, and I spent total of $375 including $75 service fee. After 3 weeks in May I called CHW again about the issue and noise same technician showed up and said nothing is wrong and the door is working properly and no need to replace it. In June I called Winston Doors directly, which is very hard to get the hold of them and same technician showed and this time said you need to change the whole garage door in order not to make any noise.

I had them come out for one issue. Several parts needed to be replaced or so I was told. I paid $600+ and its not fixed. Every time I call the company I get no answer. A week goes by and they show up. The worker tells that I need more parts. Clearly, I m not giving them another red cent. Now, we re going on two weeks without a working garage. The guy was supposed to be here at 11 am. It s now 442 pm. I haven t received any calls and they won t answer the phone. I want this issued resolved like a month ago! This is beyond ridiculous. The absolute worst. Been trying to get my garage fixed for 6 weeks. I paid them, they fixed it and it has broken again. Infact they did such a bad job with the repair the door is now even worse. I am sick of trying to get them to fix what I have paid for. They put me on the schedule then cancel. This is the worst company to deal with stay away from them. I am going to take them to court to get my money back since they keep canceling the appt. Warranty my dot dot dot. They will never come back out to fix there mistakes. UPDATE - 6/20/24. Garage is even worse since they Fixed it . Clearly the tech didn t know how to install the parts correctly. The cables were installed wrong and the track never was aligned correctly. They charged 1400 bucks for this repair and now no one will come back out to fix the mistake they have made. No one answers the phone. This company should not be in business least not in Texas. They just take your money then never follow up and the quality of their work is garbage.

Amazing, perfect 1st experience with Winston Garage Doors from the moment we submitted our service request. They called us within 1 hour to schedule our apt, they were at our home in 3 days..because we called on Friday. So we were perfectly happy with a Monday arrival time. Ross arrived early, accessed the damage and had our spring replaced within what felt like minutes. He oiled and inspected all the components and the door itself. I had a pretty in bad experience. One of their technician (Beau) screwed up - I realized the issue he created after he left. That is, he fixed one issue (most likely wrong way and too expensive and likely was not needed) and created an issue that was likely the cause to begin with. In my dealing with customer service (Melinda and Vince), it was horrible as they never called back and didnt follow through. I would NOT use them again. BTW, my neighbor had a similar issue he got it fixed for $250 and this company charged me nearly $1300 and I still have to deal with the issue they are not responding to fix.

Would not even give Winston 1 star. Would never do business with them again. Home warranty scheduled them to replace a broken spring in our garage door. Winston scheduled multiple appointments and never showed up. When I called each time, they said they never had us on the schedule or they didnt have the parts ordered. Said they would email/text an appointment confirmation and never would. They then flip flopped saying they ordered the part and then said they didnt have the part, kept asking what we approved (trying to get us to replace more than what was necessary) - never could get a straight answer from them on anything. Took our payment but never showed up to do any work. Three weeks went by like this. Completely unprofessional. Very unfortunate. Would absolutely not recommend for anything. Such a nightmare!

If I could rate a 0 stars I would. Choice warranty sent a technician out from Winston Garage doors. Technician said it was the springs. Submitted it to the warranty company on site. Technician said warranty company would pay for $600 of it and I would have to pay $1098. That evening I got an email saying that the warranty company denied the claim. I called another service company out and they said springs were not broke and come to find out it was on vacation lock. He took tightened some bolts and didn t charge me a thing. I almost got scammed my this company and I think this warranty company is a scam!

It has been an absolute nightmare working with this company. After their repair at my home failed, they no-showed 3 times after setting appointments to come back out and look at it. Then they sent me an invoice for 880 to replace a motor when they hadn t even come out to diagnose what the problem truly was. After paying another company to come out, they made a small minor adjustment and everything has worked perfect since. This company caused the problem and wouldn t come out to fix it. Terrible, terrible communication, bad workmanship and horrible customer service.
