First off, Service was below average for a slow evening. No menu knowledge about allergies or true ingredients. Drink machine had extreme after taste, order can sodas with ice after one sip. Felt very rushed and not very attentive to the table. Secondly, The food its self was not a total waste but could be greatly improved. All three proteins were good orange chicken, general Tao chicken, sesame chicken) but the noodles were over cooked and lacked any seasoning. The chicken dumplings were tasty in side but completely overcooked. Cream cheese wontons was average at best. Finally, The ambiance was good, nice decor and the open kitchen gives the establishment a sleek/modern look. The prices for overall service and food is totally not worth it. Truthfully I would not recommend this establishment. FYI- I am a professional chef

I went to try this place because of a ad I received and tried the Pan fried bao. They are extremely delicious and you can see them make the bao right at the counter. The price is fair considering it is a slightly more premium place. The owner was very nice and clearly had a lot of experience in good Chinese cuisine. Will definitely visit again, and soon! 2024 update: I wrote previously about how much I liked this place. I feel I have no choice now but to report that they have maintained their high standards and still excel to this day. Wish their prices were better but other than that they are hitting on every cylinder you will not regret visiting Xiao Lings Kitchen!

My friend and I visited for the first time. Upon entering, we werent acknowledged or greeted so we assumed that it was a self-serve thing where you just pick a table. Shortly after, a group of 3 came in and they were immediately met with a welcome and were seated. They were also served first despite the fact that my friend and I arrived first. Food was okay. Plates were dirty with dried up pieces of food clearly visible on them as if they hadnt been washed at all. The bathrooms didnt have toilet paper except for one that was half used and had grime all over it. Combining all of these things mentioned as a first time customer makes my experience not great. Not sure if Ill come back.

Foods were alright, never been to a Chinese restaurant that serve braised beef noodle soup with broccoli (yup single broccoli ), most places serve with bokchoys and def not just one piece. Also the cucumbers on the cucumbers salad aren t crunchy to the bite and has a slight bitter taste; however it s very garlicky as I like. The pork soup dumplings are pretty good, decent amount of broth. Just wished they offer tongs to customers so it s easier to pick up without breaking them.

Came in around 4:30pm on a Sunday and only one other person was there. The food- Soup dumplings were very good, FULL of soup. The spicy wontons were good, but not spicy. The scallion pancakes were SUPER FLAKY, but not enough scallions. The pan fried dumplings were super fluffy. Only deducted one star because they used Pillsbury canned biscuit dough for the pan fried dumplings instead of homemade dough. Service- both servers were not attentive and each had in AirPods on the phone while delivering food. On the more expensive side. $50 for two people with tip. 8/10, would come again.

Service was good, the soup Dumplings were fantastic. But, the ramen dish I recieved looked like a 12 year old made it. It looked nothing like its photo. I felt cheated because the photo looked great, but the reality was a disappointment. They even forgot to add one of the components to it. Very disappointed with this and would encourage management to place a picture of the menu items in the kitchen so the cooks can figure out how to prepare them. I didnt give the service 5 stars because they should not have brought that mess to me.

I had the pork soup dumplings, the vegetable spring rolls, and the scallion pancakes. If you want your appetizers come out first, make sure to just order your appetizers, then when your appetizers come out, order your main. Because my dumplings came out first, then the scallion pancakes. The vegetable spring rolls came out last and were piping hot. I almost burned my mouth twice. They need some time to cool. Everything tasted great! The service was great too!

Really enjoyed their dumplings, although their dumpling wrappers had a green tinge to them? I ordered a thai boba tea togo at the end of my meal and after receiving the first one, it still had the powder mix undissolved. I then asked for a replacement and the powder was even less dissolved than the first one. Really unappetizing. The boba tea was $5.95 which is on the higher end of boba tea and they re not using housemade tapioca pearls, evidently, due to their texture. I was really impressed with their dumplings though.

The service was incredibly slow and disorganized specially the server mahmoud. It took an absurd amount of time for a server to even acknowledge our presence, let alone take our orders. When the food finally arrived, it was lukewarm at best, indicating that it had been sitting out for far too long. Moreover, the quality of the food was subpar. The dishes lacked flavor and were disappointingly bland. The supposed authentic Chinese cuisine fell short of expectations, leaving us feeling underwhelmed and unsatisfied.

I recently dined at a Chinese restaurant in town, and unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. The food at this establishment tasted subpar, lacking the authentic flavors and quality I expect from Chinese cuisine. The dishes were bland and seemed to lack proper seasoning and attention to detail in preparation. Additionally, some items appeared to be overcooked or undercooked, further diminishing the overall dining experience. While the service was adequate, with attentive staff members, the disappointing quality of the food overshadowed any positive aspects of the visit. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant to those seeking a satisfying Chinese dining experience. I told you about a Chinese restaurant I tried recently, and frankly, my experience was not good. The food in the restaurant was unacceptable, there was no real Chinese taste and the quality was low. The dishes were lackluster, there were not enough spices, and there was no focus in preparation. In addition, some of the dishes were overcooked or undercooked, which did not help improve the overall experience. Although the service was good, with understanding and attentive staff, the disappointing quality of the food was the highlight of the visit. Overall, we would not recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a satisfying Chinese experience.

As a frequent diner and lover of Chinese cuisine, my recent visit to Xia Ling left much to be desired. From the moment I stepped in, the ambiance felt lackluster and uninspired, lacking the warmth and charm typically associated with authentic Chinese eateries. The menu boasted a variety of dishes, but the execution fell short of expectations. The General Tsos Chicken was overly greasy and lacked the bold flavors Ive come to expect. Additionally, the fried rice was undercooked and bland, lacking the delicate balance of seasoning and freshness. Service was another letdown. The staff seemed disinterested and inattentive, resulting in long wait times for both ordering and receiving our food. It was evident that there was a lack of communication and organization among the team, leading to a frustrating dining experience. Furthermore, the cleanliness of the restaurant left much to be desired. The tables were sticky, and the floors appeared dirty, detracting from the overall dining atmosphere. Overall, Xia Ling failed to deliver on its promise of authentic Chinese cuisine and hospitality. With subpar food, indifferent service, and lackluster cleanliness, I cannot recommend this establishment to fellow food enthusiasts.

The soup inside the dumpling was so rich and full of flavor. One of the best dumplings I have had. Spicy edamame was good and Moms Tofu was tasty, just not as spicy as I thought it would be. If you are trying to decide I would definitely recommend the dumplings (soup dumplings are so juicy), bao (the red bean is exceptional), cucumber salad was great. Seasoning was light for some dishes but we just added some salt or soy sauce and it was good, I d rather that than too much sauce and oils!! Customer Service needs help. I walk in with my 9 year old and they hand him a Menu even though I tell them its to go. Then the lady behind the counter tells me that the salt & pepper shrimp has skin on it and that my 9 year old should peel it for me if I order it . I also ordered a drink that I had to find the cup with no lid or straw because the cashier walked away. General Tsos chicken has incredible flavor and the right amount of sauce on it. Only problem was some of the chicken was chewy. Rise has a intriguing & interesting flavor, I liked it. There was definitely not enough rice in these small containers to go with my meal. Overall bad customer service but excellent food.

I found out this place while getting a late coffee from a Starbucks. The place does have a nice vibe, and the dumping tastes alright. But what bothered me was the service. While two Indian servers were quite prompt to take my order right away, they seem rush through it. As soon as I ate my food, a server came and ask whether I am ready for a check. Although it is nice to quickly act so I don t have to wait, I felt little too pressured to leave right away. Although the server probably did not mean it, that kinda ruined my good perception about the restaurant at the end.

My husband & I heard this place recently opened & decided to try it out. Not gonna lie - we had the best xiao long bao (soup dumplings) we have had in a LONG time! It was perfect for the cold weather. We also ordered sesame chicken with fried rice. The sesame chicken was perfect - crispy on the outside, soft & juicy on the inside, and while being so flavorful. The fried rice could ve been better; it was dry & was just salty. Nonetheless, will come back again. We appreciated the good food & good service.

Decided to stop off on the way to the airport. Only wanted a few snacks and decided on soup dumplings, pan fried pork dumplings and egg rolls. We thought both dumplings were EXCELLENT 10/10 and the egg rolls were a solid 8/10. Prices are reasonable, service was very good, what s not to like ?

Delicious dumplings! We had three dumplings: soup, pork and scallion, and vegetable. Everything was delicious! The server was helpful, friendly and attentive but not hovering. The only downside: the radio was too loud and out-of-sync with the rest of the rest of the atmosphere. Well be back!

Wow, this place is a gem in Irving!! The soup dumplings were the best Ive had in DFW. Much larger than you normally get and so full of soup!! The combo dumplings were amazing and the bao bun dumplings are so worth the wait!! I only took a pic of the General Tso chicken(which tasted so fresh and yummy) cuz my wife and I were too busy getting busy with the dumplings!! Come eat here ASAP!!!

Paid $3 extra for noodles instead of white rice with my entree. They served plain pasta noodles with no seasoning or sauce. Appetizer came when we were almost finished with our food. My orange chicken was dry and tasted overcooked. Paid $55 just to give it to my dogs. Would not recommend

Honestly not sure how this place got up to 4 stars. Ramen noodles were just maruchan dry noodles thrown into a broth. Pork was chewy. Didn t dig the pork scallion bao, maybe just not my thing but it ended up tasting pretty much like a shepherds pie.

I use to REALLY like eating here. But now things have changed. When this restaurant first opened, their food was delicious. Especially their pork with garlic sauce. I ve been ordering from their $10 lunch menu pretty frequently because it is a great portion for the price. Unfortunately, last few times the meat is extremely dry. Sauce is good, except when combining with dry meat. It s a decent place for lunch but if you are expecting spectacular, this isn t the place

Sunday night I ordered Mongolian Beef and Shitake Mushroom Chicken for takeout, and paid extra for fried rice for both meals. Huge mistake. Undoubtedly the worst Mongolian beef I have ever had and the mushroom chicken was not much better. While the flavor was bland the beef was so tough it was barely editable. I threw half of the meat out and even my garbage disposal struggled with it. The chicken was extremely dry but chewable. To top it off they only gave me one carton of fried rice instead of the two I paid for. It was a total disappointment. Stick with non-meat meals and you may be ok. We will not be going back.

This small hole in the wall reminds me of some of the best Chinese food I use to get in NY. The portions are nice size and the quality is fresh as I watched one of the chefs preparing the Wantons by hand. While I was not a fan of the soup due to the spice level, the wonton themselves were excellent. Will come back and just ask for the soup without the spice next time.

I ordered the soup dumplings it wasn t hot nor did it have any flavor, Mongolian beef very bland and the salt and pepper shrimp that was very dried . This was a waste of $60. First and last time

We came from the airport and was craving dumplings. Was pleasantly surprised about how close it was from there... so we ordered online and have it ready for pickup. As soon as we got there it was ready. The place was small but it was full of people. We got home and opened everything up... it smelled delicious. All came with individual sauce which is great! Everything tasted authentic and delicious. Good amount and size for each dumplings!!! Worth the money!!!! Will definitely be back... we live in Burleson,TX but will drive here to eat again!!!!

Really a 3.5 but tilted to 4 stars. Mongolian Beef was incredibly chewy and the flavor really just fell flat. More oil used to make it glisten than actual sauce for flavor. Soup dumplings were incredibly juicy, but also fell flat from a flavor standpoint. Lastly we had the pan fried dumplings. Again, meat and dough with not much flavor. All three dishes required vinegar and soy respectively and chili oil to really add flavor. Nice enough spot and food is just fine. Just not anything more.

We had a meal here last night and it was quite good! We got the soup dumplings, steak with shittake mushrooms (spicy), and Dan Dan noodle soup. The noodle soup was pretty bad. It didn t taste like anything but the noodle texture was great. The steak entree was amazing. Very fresh vegetables, thin cut steak, and a delicious sauce. We asked for it spicy and it wasn t too spicy, more so tasty. The soup dumplings were the star of the show. They were so well made and the soup was incredibly rich. Would definitely come back for the soup dumplings.

I tried the fried tofu and cream cheese wontons, tofu was just slightly dry but ok. The cream cheese wontons are my favorite thing I tried. Now the kung pao chicken entree, it lacked flavor in my opinion but texture was good. I got some steamed dumplings that were once again just ok. For desert we got some chocolate bai buns that tasted good but they coat them in a lot of sugar . Overall an ok place to go to not my favorite.

I come here pretty often, the food is great. Nice atmosphere. Normally I have the lady waitress, but today a guy came to my table and just threw the menu to me and ask what do you want. He have to learn not to be so aggressive and know how to speak first and ask what would I like. Not What do you want . Kinda rude, but I didn t allow that to dictate the rest of my experience here because I love eating here.

We ordered the spicy noodle ramen soup and it seemed like the noodles were the same from the maruchan noodles, it wasn t too flavorful and it was honestly a let down for $15. Not what ramen should be. There weren t many veggies in it either if at all. Overall ended up spending $70 for two soups, two appetizers and bao bun. It was definitely not worth the money spent for the food. I hate to leave bad reviews but I had high hopes for this place and it definitely was a let down. The place seemed to have almost an awkward feel to it and it just didn t hit the nail for good service. Maybe it was the day I went, I m not sure. Wouldn t recommend unfortunately or visit again.

We had total of three people came for lunch today, knowing this is a grand opening restaurant, we were impressed by the warm and cozy eating atmosphere, their decorations were unique and amazed, love their modern and elegant eastern style. But most of, the food were delicious, especially Xiao Long bao, very juicy and testy. Their beef noodle, unlike other restaurants with less meat, they give a great amount of meat, and beef soup is made with real beef bone for nutritional value. Lastly, we were delighted by their friendly service. Overall, this is a great restaurant that you won t be disappointed!Highly recommended!

The soup dumplings here are the best Ive ever had! Theyre on par with Din Tai Fung, which is quite the compliment. We also tried the pork scallion dumplings (steamed), and they were equally amazing. Our bill for both dishes came out to $30, including tax and tip, which is a little on the expensive side in my opinion. I requested extra ginger because thats how I like it, and they happily obliged. The space is small, so there might be a long wait on the weekends. Nevertheless, the atmosphere is pleasant, the space is clean, and the service was good. I cant wait to share my experience at this place with my friends; its a hidden gem for dumpling lovers!

The staff is extremely nice including the owner. I waited two weeks to come here, so finally after work I drive directly here from work and ordered their famous xiao long bao well it s alittle disappointing. The xiao long is so small and the soup inside is even smaller. 12$ for 6 of them is over priced with how much you get. I go to different countries and states for xiao long bao. So I know. The other dumplings, Mongolian fried rice, and soup noodles was good. But if you want good xiao long bao and value for your money for that ? This isn t the place I m sorry. I always love to support my local restaurants but xiao long bao is too small and expensive. I know many ppl love this place and all, but I know my prices and xiao long bao. I travel the world as a food critic and this place for that is way to expensive for the amount of food you get xiao long bao.

Pretty disappointing experience eating here. When we arrived, the restaurant was not very busy. I ordered the mushroom chicken with white rice. When the food arrived, they had made a mistake and given us fried rice(which comes with an extra $3 charge). I informed the waitress that I ordered white rice to which she said no problem, I will get you white rice and remove the extra charge when providing the bill. After waiting about 10minutes, I still had not actually received my white rice so I had to ask another waitress. After she confirmed my request, it still took another 10minutes to get it, by which time we were about half way done with the meal already... When we were finishing the meals, our friend we were eating with requested the check. Again, it seemed like the waitress either forgot about us or didnt understand. It took another 10-15minutes of waiting before the actual check came. At this point, our bill was incorrect and still had the extra $3 charge. My wife took the check to the front register to correct it. The server then ended up charging us the completely wrong table and charged our card $70 instead of the $40 total...My wife had to request them to completely refund the wrong charge and re-charge the correct bill to the correct table. The restaurant did get very crowded with a big party arriving after us. So I understand it is very busy and very loud. But the servers should at least try to make an effort to follow through with the task they are helping with so guests are not waiting so long. As for the food, the dumplings were pretty decent but the fried rice and the sauce on my chicken dish was a bit too salty for my taste. Unfortunately, we had a pretty poor experience here due to maybe the inexperience of the servers with handling a crowded period.

Media influencers... you got this one wrong! Xao long bao skin is chewy and the flavor is off. Mapa Tofu is salty. The beef noodles soup was bland and had no depth. Gave them 2 stars because there was plenty of napkins. Generally Chinese restaurants hoard this stuff. Think back at toilet paper fiasco at Costco of 2020. Parking: More than too little.
