Very historic Cemetery in the middle of Huntsville. Easy place to park and very interesting to walk around. Fairly well kept grounds but you have to keep in mind that the cemetery dates back to the 1840s or so

My son and I had great week of fishing, playing cards, catching up, etc, but on one trip to go see a movie, he saw a sign for Sam Houstons grave site and wanted to see it before going back to his home several hours away. Very interesting grave yard and historical markers, beautiful setting on hill, in the trees, etc. Saw markers, graves, over 200 years old. Sad for those left behind when we all have to go sometime ... but when we get to go to heaven ohhh what a glorious day that will be! And fyi no tickets required, just park right next to it and go right in.

One of the most beautiful cemeteries Ive ever seen in my life. I believe its one of the oldest in Texas has multiple historical markers throughout and the Sam Houston grave is right in front so makes it easy for people with disabilities.

Was very sad to see the disarray of the grounds and so many tree roots breaking the stones. So many headstones from the early 1800s very interesting.

Simple and not too complicated. A chance to see the large statue up close which is an interesting site to see. My family and I enjoyed the attention to detail you can see up close on the statue. Has a bench to eat lunch and public restrooms. Simple yet satisfying. This monument gets the EJ Stamp of Approval

Beautiful cemetery with lots of very old monuments. We love history and boy, is it there! We even located Dr. Thomas Balls marker. He is the father of the town of Tomballs namesake. True, there are some things that can be done to make it better. However, it is a rather old cemetery and with age comes warts and scars.
