During a recent flight through IAH, I had an unusually long delay. Instead of staying in the airport, I found Mercer Botanic Gardens, which is only 20 minutes or so away. Ms. Jamie went above and beyond to make me feel welcome, point out areas of interest on the grounds, nearby eateries, and attractions. It was so peaceful! Storey Lake is the best form of self care! Can t recommend enough. Thanks again Ms. Jamie, Erica, and the team for all you do!

If you want to spend a quiet day, reconnect with nature, isolate yourself from the hustle and bustle of the city, this is the right place, I would 100% recommend this place, it is very large, full of flora and fauna, and if you are slow, the tour throughout the The park can take up to two hours, if you dont forget the mosquito repellent, because there is plenty of it but that is part of nature so dont complain , entry is free. It has a larger lake that has turtles. Here are some photos.

What a beautiful garden to go and visit that is completely free to the public! You can even take photography photos here as well. Got lucky and was able to see a local gardeners donated cacti collection and I couldn t have been more impressed! This garden also houses so many rare or almost extinct plants that they are trying to help bring back or preserve. Def worth checking out! It is hot cause it s outside so be prepared. Most of the walkways are handicapable friendly but there are a few that goes up steep hills or rocks. For the most part it s all accessible though. Plenty of parking!

Just WOW! Beautiful and calm place right in the city. Plants and trees are identified, so if you are a nature lover, you will enjoy learning more about the great variety of plants and trees in the garden. This is great place to bring small children so they can develop that care and love for nature, and it is so accesible from the city that there is no excuse to not come and enjoy some time of calm and peace. There is also a visitor center with restrooms. Did I say it is free? Dont miss the opportunity to bring your family this summer. You will invest a good hour or two on you wellness here.
