Awesome spot for 1st dates, date night, or just a casual gathering with friend over wine for a wine & chill night. The owner is passionate, personable and knowledgeable about her wines. The atomosphere was pleasant, the upstairs covered patio is a nice spot as well. The evening I visited, she had a DJ playing on the upstairs patio. It was nice. The food compliments the wine, but mainly hors-d uvre appetizers. Wine service was fast during my visit. I had 3 glasses of wine and an hors-d uvre appetizer and spent about $54. The parking in rear is limited. Please patronize our BOB and small business owners.

Shearone was amazing and the reason Im coming back!!! She is an expert in wine, spirits, etc. They dont sell common grocery store brands, so be prepared to come open minded. No worries, all you have to do is tell Shearone what you like and she can pick something new for you. Did I forget about the hidden rooftop patio? Yall MUST stop in, especially for happy hour till 8pm.

My friends and I came to Unwind at Unwine and my goodness I m soooo glad we did!!! It was super chilled and laid back just like we wanted. We chose to sit inside because it was a little cool but the upstairs deck is very nice as well and we will be back to enjoy that area soon. I loved the fact that owner told us to just tell her what we liked in a wine and then she came with these exquisitely delicious wines that was right on the money!! We will be back very soon!!! I understand why its called Unwine, because the minute you enter the doors, the cares and stresses of the world disappear and you find yourself relaxed and at peace. The welcoming ambiance and friendly smiles seem to remind you of home, wherever your home is. The food bomb, the atmosphere is bomb... very adamant structure for ordering and entering the establishment. I think its best to look up the menu before you arrive to know what you want. Entering and ordering was a bit challenging soon as well walked in. BAM! What do you want... well, I dont know yet. Im not sure of the pricing, but I do know the food taste and portions are worth it. And the environment.

Elegant, subtle, unassuming classy, cozy, intimate the view of the moon and Houston skies in the background were as poetic and the event itself. The service was not only professional, courteous, attentive, thorough and authentic but it was just as inviting as the space. A thoughtful space with elegant, subtle touches, accents and considerations so easy to miss but when noticed, undeniably intentional. Drinks and vibes were great in poise and presentation. The calm atmosphere gave upscale yet come as you are energy. It was pleasure. I was so engulfed and engaged with the space this visit but definitely will try the food next time. The ambiance inside and on the rooftop created the perfect atmosphere to wine down from a long day. The red wines I explored and tasted were excellent. The wine was bold and smooth and by far the best wine I have had in a very long time. The great thing is that you can t find the wine anywhere else in the city. The service was impeccable. The staff went out of the way to make sure I was happy. I m looking forward to my next visit.

I am a repeat visitor to UnWine. I moved to 3rd Ward 3.5 years ago and just so happened to stop by. The owner (Shearone) is amazing and made me feel very welcomed from the first moment i walked in. Her wealth of knowledge relative to wines and cigars is second to none. Shearon is a Master Sommelier and will definitely select the perfect wine for you. The professionalism and environment is ideal for the working professional. I have attended political fundraisers, private parties, and non-scheduled gatherings with my boys there. Shearone refers to UnWine as her Living room and indeed makes everyone feel at home. This is a must for anyone looking for a place where you will be treated well and meet some amazing people that will engage you in conversations about life.

2023 Update: Second visit in a while and looking forward to dropping by more regularly now. The laid back vibe is still amazing and just perfect to relax and unwind. We had the pleasure of interacting with the owner who was the absolute perfect host. Her excellent engagement with guests truly elevated the experience. Beverage and meal options are uniquely exciting so be sure to ask for recommendations while you re there. 2020 Review: This wine bar offered a very relaxed ambiance on a night out. We chilled downstairs for a while before going up to the patio. Although it was a fairly cold night, the heaters upstairs ensured the space remained comfortable. The DJ kept the vibe going, and even took special requests. We felt so comfortable that we engaged in conversation with the staff and other guests.

WOW WOW WOW!!! I was feeling down when I stumbled upon this GEM! I walked in and was honored to meet the owner of this Black Owned, Woman owned business who also happens to be a Sommelier. She was so gracious and down to earth We spoke for at least an hour. A couple of females joined our conversation which quickly shifted to a brief lesson about the best wine for people who typically drink Moscato. She was knowledgeable and patient and answered all questions. There is a rooftop although I didnt go up there. GREAT LOCATION, CLASSY BLACK OWNED - WOMEN OWNED business. I left feeling inspired and at peace. Ill be back for sure!

This was a memorable evening for my family celebrating my daughters birthday in Houston. The owner, Sherron, was absolutely the best host at her establishment. The chardonnay was one of the best wines Ive had ever. The food was made fresh and with good ingredients. The name said it all, UnWine. We were so relaxed and felt like we were at a friends home unwinding from everything. My daughter loved it and so did all of us. Lets just say this I couldnt possibly see how I could unwind here knowing that my items were left here and thrown away I thought I could retrieve them in a lost and found for visiting customers Plus I know of a contractor who help to get this establishment up to par for the city... to let bar reopen but he was not even paid for his work he completed.His glasses were thrown in the trash which he needs to be able to see... The place is extremely nice and quaint! The problem is the owner. She does not know how to manage or properly staff. There should not be the owner and one other worker when there are about 50 people there. Patrons should not be told Its only me. I can only do one thing at a time especially when the patrons are being patient. Typically bartenders deal with one at a time and they take in plenty of requests. Apparently, making a request and stating when you have time is offensive! She was very short with more than one patron and she needs to be reminded it is a privilege and an honor for your business to be supported. Patrons dont owe you anything but rather they should be welcomed and treated with respect so they would return. Maybe they would even spread the word on their great experience! Owner needs an attitude adjustment and a reminder of how word of mouth affect a business. The owner has no system in place on handling patrons and there was no crowd there. Multitasking is over rated and there should not be several cards waiting to be run while doing something else. There were a few people with stories of her being short and it was obvious she was overwhelmed. A new business may have some hiccups on how to handle staff however after years this should be managed better. I will never visit here again. 03/11/2020 UPDATE - One incident I can move past however, I refuse to give my money or support to a business where more than 2 patrons in a party are treated rudely in separate situations throughout the night. You need to do better, period! I can certainly understand being overwhelmed however it may behoove you to remember customer service goes a long way. Lots of errors can be overlooked and forgiven with a smile and good communication. No patron owes you anything!

What an amazing experience. It was my first time and I simply enjoyed it. We decided to try Unwine because of the reviews and it did not disappoint. Tammy was extremely helpful with the wine selections. She had wonderful suggestions for 2 people that have taste on totally different spectrums and she nailed it. The cheese board was so refreshing, the music was definitely justified for the atmosphere and everyone we encountered was very warm and welcoming! My wife and I were driving by and decided to stop in. From that point on it was as if we d come to a close friend s dinner party. We were seated and our host (the owner) came to introduce himself to us and his establishment. He asked our wine preferences, were we new or not to drinking wine and gave a few options to taste. He explained the different complexities of the wine and we settled into two glasses that would delight the palate with each new sip. From there at our behest he gave us a tour of the rooftop terrace were patrons could relax and smoke cigars is they so choose. After the tour my wife and I settled in, delighting in the ambience. The owner later comes back inviting us to meet fellows patrons and play a board game. Hesitant at first we engage, but by the end of the night the room was filled with riotous laughs and a strong sense of community. The people that run this place are amazingly friendly, easy to talk to and welcoming. Although its not a huge place and the staff is small, they make sure to treat every customer the same. The food and service was great....they even let us sample different items. The new mudslide that is going on the menu is perfect for a person who doesnt usually drink wine. The Big O Salad is scrump-dilly-umptious...and more filling than your avg salad. The music was beast and everyone was having a good time. Cozy cornor neighborhood bar serving wine, beer and foods. Very comfortable, intimate atmosphere just right for small gatherings or a drink with a friend. Inside area has coach like seating along the wall and a small bar with seating for 3. TV monitors above the bar and one behind the bar. There is upstairs rooftop seating via a long staircase leading to a rooftop door. Outside area is very simplistic, small tables for two, couch seating, and a outside bar area. Rooftop is nice atmosphere but dont expect a senic view of the city. Staff was very friendly, they make you feel right at home. Nice place to Unwine with a glass of wine and a friend or two.

The name Unwine fits PERFECTLY. Super laidback spot with the staff to match. Good music was good too - Isley Brothers, Al Green, etc playing downstairs... Kendrick Lamar, Rihanna, etc playing upstairs. They only serve wine and beer, along with a few lite bites. If you go, get the roasted corn and spinach flatbread and add avocado. If you want to have some sips with a friend (or a few), just chill out and not be so pressed. This is the place to go.

They saw us walk in. They asked if we were sitting on the balcony, but no one waited on us. Finally a girl on a date that apparently worked there took our order. The waiter waited on a group of women that he, obviously knew. I never saw him work on anyone else. The $12 prosecco tasted like it came out of a can. We paid and left. They were not busy.

Been coming here since its inception. Cant say enough good things about this place. The variety of wines is exquisite and the food is innovative and delicious. Very upscale and mature ambience and the proprietors are very friendly and knowledgeable. Cant recommend this place enough. Do yourself a favor and make this place apart of your schedule moving forward. And if youre into fashion, one of the proprietors owns a shop a few doors down named McQueens. A+ across all spectrums.
