First visit, and quite out of my way, attended a reception. Great service- the sort you get through a classic dining experience and thats increasingly rare. Outstanding bar service and top-notch cocktail skills that delivered a sublime Old Fashioned. I didnt order from the menu but the food put out was very good. Strong marks!! Dietary restrictions: Staff well informed on food ingredients and issues such as gluten free.

You can never go wrong with Tommys. Delicious food with five-star service. There is a reason they have been around for so long. My favorite is the voodoo shrimp and grilled romaine salad. Paired with a nice glass of white wine, it is a perfect dinner.

I had the seafood pasta and the cremebrule. The pasta was ok, mussels were amazing but the crawfish was way over cooked and chewy but the rest of the pasta was delicious. The cremebrule was to die for. Go today and order that!

Due to a recent dining experience, I had had to edit my review and reduce the stars from 5 to 3. We decided to go back to Tommys for our anniversary. We had reservations and were quickly seated. Our server seemed very timid and wasnt very knowledgeable regarding the menu. We assumed that they were new. Sadly, the food that was once stellar, is now only mediocre. My wedge salad came out and the lettuce looked very sad, as though it was already old and wilted before being put on the grill. This imparted a bitter taste. The gumbo was one of the worst that I have ever had. The roux was supposed to be dark, but it was straight burned. The steak Diane that used to be juicy and flavorful is now tough and rubbery. We decided to take some dessert to go and when we got home, the waiter put them in the bag upside down and there was sauce everywhere. Im sorry to say, but it will take some time for us to consider going back to Tommys. They have unfortunately gone downhill. I will leave my original review below: Tommys is a fantastic little place for a nice dinner. Im glad we found them. We have been here a number of times and have not had a bad experience. They have wonderful steaks and seafood. I would choose this place over Perrys any day of the week. The wait staff has always been friendly and helpful. Highly recommend for a nice evening out.

Last night my girlfriend and I came to dinner. She has recently needed to use a stand up walker, and is quite self-conscious about it. She has not been out of her home in quite a while, hence the trip to Tommys., and I must say it did not disappoint. From being met by Carlos Moya to be led to a wonderful table and be helped by a very attentive waitress. The food was ample and absolutely delicious! We had lots of time to chat and just drink in the beautiful ambience. Thank you so very much for taking such good care of us.

Very good happy hour! Their oysters on the half shell, the voodoo shrimp and the drunken shrimp are amazing. The calamari is also a must have! Paired with a few cocktails makes for a perfect late afternoon! They also offer beautiful banquet rooms for private parties or corporate events.

We had such a wonderful meal at Tommy s. Paul was our waiter and he took such amazing care of us. We were a long seating and certainly took our time as we arrived during happy hour and were the last table to leave the restaurant. Every drink and food item we ordered was perfection. Appetizers, salads, entrees, and desserts - everything was spot on. Recommend: black & blue tuna, drunken shrimp, any of the salmon options, the steak au poivre, pecan crusted redfish, vanilla cheesecake, and Jealousy dessert. We were a little timid going in as the parking lot made us wonder about the quality of the restaurant but inside, Tommy s is BEAUTIFUL! Carlos is kind and the staff and great. Call our friend Paul for a reservation! We will be back next time we are in Houston!!

Have visited 3 times since this review. Beths annual birthday is the nornal occasion. Gregory was XLNT today 4/29 at lunch - his service, his recommendations. The food, as usual, is delicious, esp. the raw oysters from Matagorda Bay...... [First visit in nearly 30 years, just for happy day. The wife LOVED the oysters and the stuffed mushrooms. The service was superb, the margarita near perfect (little too much lime). Will need make the trip back down to Clear Lake soon.]

Relaxing dining experience. Best Fried Green Tomatoes. Flounder was perfection. Loved the shoestring onion rings. Its a HUGE tower. The wait staff is friendly and helpful and with the great food we had a wonderful dining experience. We loved the oysters also. Visited again. Brook was our waitress and she was wonderful. Carlos is a joke and a terrible manager with issues. Extremely disappointed that I had to pay FULL PRICE for a happy hour entree after sitting here and eating and having drinks pre- happy hour at full price then waiting for the happy hour menu. When I called and ask to talk to the manager Carlos he was extremely rude and didnt care what I had to say. Then he hung up on me mid conversation. I had oysters and cocktails at regular price an hour before happy hour. Then when I was getting ready to go I wanted to grab a bite for my wife (during happy hour)to take home. I ordered a happy hour special that cost me an extra 3$ because I ordered it TO-GO, and I got over charged. I sat and spent $70 by myself. You guys cant let me take my to-go order at happy hour prices?? Because of the owners silly rules and greed this is the last time Ill spend anything on food here. How about making a new rule for your regulars that sit here at happy hour and spends money?? How about hiring a manager that can talk to people like a respectful person?

I am not one to write negative reviews but the unprofessionalism we experienced today calls for one. Our family came in for the Easter buffet & although the food was average, how our waiter treated one of our guests was horrible & the reason for the review. I waited about 10 minutes 2 separate times just for my water to be refilled. At the end of our time after paying & saying our goodbyes OUTSIDE, our waiter followed us (again outside of the building) to ask if our bill was correct. Not only did he initially ask the wrong person who had paid the bill, he essentially was asking for a better tip because the cash tip that was left wasn t good enough in his opinion. I am fully aware that tips are a waiters main source of pay at the end of the night & we live in a scarce society but to follow an elderly lady outside to ask for a better tip is disgusting. Tall white dude, brown hair, with glasses. Do better & remember some people are not able to enjoy this day with family or food. *Didn t get his name

Driving by and noticed my name was a resturant and decided to give it a try. Well I can tell you it was more than I expected folks. When we walked in the resturant i felt under dressed and some what out of place until i saw a gentleman iin a pair of jeans. I was greeted by the manager Carlos and a fine gentleman he was. He ask if we had an reservation and I was oh crap, we wont get a chance to try this nice resturant. He was able to get us in and it was great to be in such an clean and organized resturant. Staff was really attentive to all of their customer needs. We were blessed to have Jason as our waiter and he did fabulous gretting and serving us. Tne food was great and the oysters were good also. Not Apalachicola ooysters but they were good with many sauces to try with them. If you want to impress or have a beautiful night / day out with drinks and food and you are in the area stop by Tommys for a wonderful experience. They will not disappoint you. Bring you wallet or purse, because good food isnt cheap

First of all, a very friendly and welcoming restaurant. We sat at a high top in the bar area. A sweet waitress waited on us and she was a drink master, she made my cosmos so yummy. The food is DELICIOUS, amazing flavors and high quality ingredients. The fresh baked bread is so soft and yummy and oil is the best I ve ever had anywhere. We will be back! We ve been here so many times now, I just add new photos to the review if it s something new we ate and I remember. The friendly welcoming staff has held true every visit. The manager is amazing and friendly, always checks on all us customers. The wait staff have a dress code and it really elevates the experience. We are usually here early so never have an issue getting a table but we brought friends here for Happy Hour recently who wanted to try it after hearing us talk about it and we found out you need a reservation on a Friday night. Tommy s was packed, and rightly so! We got lucky and got a table that night so our friends could try it, but did have to wait a bit for it. They had open tables but not enough wait staff. We ate here for Houston restaurant week and the food was amazing, that was the first time I tried the crème brûlée and Tommy s is the best I ve ever had, so creamy, not overly sweet, and the shell is crunchy. We got some different plates last time that were amazing, seafood cooked to perfection and seasoned deliciously. I got the broiled seafood and they ask how you d like it cooked which I ve never been asked before but really appreciate. They suggest medium but I asked for medium well because I don t like any wet or squishy seafood, I like mine more done. It was phenomenal.

We love eating at Tommys when we go to the Webster area. The food is AMAZING and the restaurant is just lovely. We like to sit at the bar and the bartenders are very personable and quick with a drink. Manager Carlos comes around to visit and check to see if everything is to your liking. In the late afternoon to early evening, the regulars come in are fun to visit with and chat. This visit we had stuffed mushrooms with great portions of crabmeat and yummy sauce and also had the dozen order of Tommys grilled oysters.....the food NEVER disappoints Tommys is THE premier seafood restaurant in the Webster/League City area. Excellent service on busy Friday evening around 7:30 The stuffed mushrooms and fried jalapeños got mixed reviews, the $27 (fresh) salmon dish had an off-putting, almost spoiled flavor, and was left uneaten. The vegetable plate had blanched broccoli,oily spinach, and a vegetable burger platty, a small tomato cut in half and heated slightly, probably in a microwave, some sliced mushrooms, and asparagus. The jumbo gulf shrimp, blackened, came with two teaspoons of white rice. A small detail, but I didnt know that there was rice on the plate until Id eaten half of the 6 over cooked tail on shrimp. The salmon and shrimp included a side salad and small serving of steamed vegetables, the usual frozen broccoli, carrots, and so on youd at any Dennys. I got a $5 baked potato in an effort to get a resonablely filling meal. The featured martinis and wine selection were worth checking out, even if the wine pour was short and the mixed drinks were snack size. The food might be better on a less crowded evening or at lunch. Its been a while since i last saw Tommys. A number of years ago and under different management, I remember a great mid-upper level restaurant with decades of family ownership. The current version of Tommys is exactly the same menu, blandly flavored selection of grilled or fried shrimp, five types of farm raised fish, or an expensive plate of vegetables steamed into submission available at all of Houstons famous (sounds like laundry) corporations chain of seafood restaurants. Youd find the duplicate seafood menu and quality of food at the Kemah boardwalk, for example. Its no worse or better than most chain restaurants, a small step up from red lobster in ambiance but not in food quality.

THE PLACE FOR OYSTERS! Brooke was our waitress and did a wonderful job explaining and figuring out which dishes we would like the best. My friends ordered a half dozen oysters, and they were cleaned so beautifully. They are still talking about the oysters many days later. The shrimp diablo has the perfect amount of spice, but its not so spicy that its overpowering, the shrimp had a beautiful sweet flavor to and the pasta was cooked perfectly. The seasonal shrimp special my friend ordered looked wonderful and he was super impressed with all the flavors and the different ways it was presented. The Tilapia Ponchartrain, was presented beautifully, all the flavors and vegetables complemented each other beautifully. We are already trying to figure out when we are going next.

If all things are equal in a steak/seafood house- Tommys is an amazing place! Other places in the area may have a similar menu but Tommys excels on cooking fish. The cook on the Ahi Tuna and the trout was superb. The escargot - delicious - tender- scrumptious! Moving toward the chocolate cake and coffee- the coffee fresh brewed and the cake was made in house. While the sponge was a tad bit sense- the creme and mousse more than made up for it. Finally, combine all this food with superb wait staff and you have yourself an good experience. Do take yourself to Tommys - because the check was easier to pay than other places in town. Tommys is a winner in my book!

0 stars from the food poisoning me and half of my table got from the chicken from the Chicken Orleans dish. 3 of us ordered this dish, and all of us went home very, very sick that night. One person missed work the next day. 2 other people at the table ordered that same dish, but with fish instead of chicken and one of the people was not sick. The other person was accidentally served chicken, took a bite, then returned it once she realized it was chicken instead of fish. From the one bite of chicken, she woke up sick in the middle of the night. One of us that ordered the dish and was sick, she gave her toddler son a bite of the left overs when she got home before she became ill, and her son immediately had diarrhea everywhere. What you have to do to chicken in order to make us all as sick as we were, I do not know. The food poisoning aside, the food s flavor was very average and is not worth the price. I would advise to stay away from the food at this place. Go and drink and hang out, but don t eat anything

The waiters are very nice at this spot. There is also great variety in the menu, and the food we tried was pretty good, but pretty spicy. We tried crab stuffed mushrooms, seafood pasta (also was a bit sour), crawfish combo, and some raw oysters. The pasta was a bit sour, but the oysters were very good and enormous.

This is a very nice restaurant. When I walked in I felt like I was in a fancy restaurant nicely decorated with a calm relaxing ambience. The service was excellent. Our waiter was efficient and kept our drinks filled. Yet he was quiet and unobtrusive. I ordered the fried shrimp and it was good. The servings were generous and we brought home leftovers. They helped us celebrate a birthday by giving a generous serving of bread pudding for sharing. It was delicious. We will be returning to Tommy s again. Parking: Handicap spaces are on the side of the building and there are lots of spaces

One of the best restaurants in this region, Tommys never disappoints. The service is on point, approaching fine dining with their attention to detail. The food is creative, fresh, and delicious. And its an elegant but not pretentious atmosphere, suitable for date night, a business meal, or a family celebration. I wouldnt bring younger children here, its not a kids place. Our most recent visit had Brooke taking perfect care of us, with all of the food and wine and beverages just perfect. Will definitely return. This trip we had the seafood pasta and the pecan crusted redfish.

The food was great, I wish I didnt eat ro much of that fresh bread they bring out for starters it was amazing. I also had the most professional waiter. My waiter Daryl didnt need us to ask for anything. When our drinks were low, he would replace them right away. He even held the door open for us when we were leaving and bid us farewell. Im not from the area, but I will definitely visit again when I return. I highly recommend this place to anyone.

The Tommys grilled Oysters were delicious and Bread and oil has a taste I ve never experienced and I enjoyed it. The halibut special with the avocado and crab meat was sooooooo good. Oh yes halibut done right with the avocado and lump of crabmeat on top. The atmosphere is very pleasant and relaxing. My opinion-- the best Happy Hour menu in the area. The menu selection, pricing, professionalism of staff, and atmosphere cant be beat. Would highly recommend if you havent been. Parking: I have never experienced any issues with parking. Their lot has plenty of room and in less than 60 seconds, youre at the door.

We bring customers and colleagues here regularly. The food is fantastic and the service is excellent.
