New visit, 6-15-2024, Tex Mex Burrito for me and a Chicharon Taco for the wife. My meal was delicious. I enjoyed the cup of atole de arroz. Service was excellent this visit. Big change from previous visits. Good crowd but they kept up well. Definitely be back......................Great bfast, good service. New visit 9-23-22 hadnt been here in some time. Showed up at brunch and restaurant was practically empty. There seemed to be a very strange mildewy odor but the restaurant looked clean. Server seemed new and nervous but was very courteous. He disappeared a couple of times but service wasnt terrible. Ordered a TexMex bfast burrito and the wife had a Papa a la Mexicana with bacon, no egg. It took a bit to get our food but was very hot and fresh on arrival. We enjoyed our meal with the exception of fighting off the gnats inside. The couple that joined us had cheese enchiladas plate and birria taco special. Theyre food came in a lot faster They had no complaints. The consume(broth that came with birria) had extra chunks of beef in it. Really nice touch./ July 18 2023 visit. Stopped in for brunch . Not a bad visit. Service was good and the meal was a lot better. Wanted to try some different. Wife had the Pork Chops and eggs and I had the steak and eggs. Not bad. Good flavor , hot, fresh, well served and tender enough for not being a steakhouse. Definitely try it again. Neither of us finished our plates.

Refried beans are out of a can or a bag. If a Mexican restaurant cant make fresh beans, why bother. Overpriced as well, will not return. We went 1 month before at 2:30 pm, they close at 3 pm. Lady met us at door and told us they decided to close early. Big mistake! We as customers should be able to walk in at 2:55 pm, get served with no questions asked. Again, will not return.

Our first-time there, or at any of the Blanquitas restaurants. Nice atmosphere, very attentive. Tasty chips and salsa. Some places charge $3, no charge here. Glad they serve breakfast all day, which is what I had. Tortillas de harina, very good. The only but is the taste of the eggs. They didnt taste like eggs. I am guessing the cooking oil was not the norm Im used to. The rice was tasty, but very greasy. I avoid greasy foods ( Dennys, IHOP). I wont be returning because of the grease more than anything. We arrived at 1:46 PM on a Tuesday after a 30 minute commute to have lunch at Blanquitas. We were greeted outside of the front door by an employee saying they are closing early because business was real slow. We witness two others parking and immediately leaving! So upsetting, because we really enjoy their food and made an effort to drive into town just to have lunch before they close at 3pm. it s upsetting that they blame the customers for being slow maybe that s why it keeps getting slow cause they push the customer not to eat cause it too slow shame on you ppl

Breakfast today at Blanquitas Mexican Restaurant in Harlingen was delicious! It was my 1st time here and Im definitely a fan. My eggs were made perfectly how I like them. The sausage patties are big and full of flavor. The bacon was crispy. The hashbrowns were nice and golden. The refried beans were good as well. The staff was very friendly. The dining area is nice and clean. I love the atmosphere inside. Ill definitely be back soon with my wife, daughters and mother-in-law. I heard their barbacoa and menudo is very good as well so I have to try those next. I highly recommend.

I ordered the fajita trio special and my husband order the chili burger. It took them 55 minutes to serve the food even though there were only two other customers in the restaurant. The food was really bad,-tasteless, cold, and the fajita plate had more sausage than fajita or chicken. In fact, there were only 5 small (about an inch long) strips. The meal was not worth the $35. I do not recommend this location. Please go somewhere else, don t waste your money here.

I came in for breakfast and was not impressed with my dish. I ordered the chilaquiles mexicanos and didnt really enjoy them. The sauce was just off. I will come back and try something else next time. The service was gre, t and I sat down right away. They got busy pretty quick, but I wasnt neglected. I will come back and give them another try. Price was reasonable.

I ordered the breakfast burrito which at first glance looked delicious as it was smothered. After my first bite an instant realization that nothing about it was fresh. You can tell they use canned diced tomatoes and onions and the potatoes were bland. No seasoning to include pepper was used in the filling. Being this close to the border you would expect more authenticity. Sad to say Taco Bell as cheap as it is and fake tastes better than this place.

Worst experience ever. This place started off good. Now I wouldn t go back if they paid me! I ordered caldo de res, three of us did. We went specifically for that. Well first they take about 30 min. to serve it. Place is more than half empty. Then I get a piece of chicken on my caldo de res plate! They tell me it s gonna be another half hour before I get another one. So I stayed hungry watching everyone else eat their food! It s not the first time we eat there. It used to be worth while. It s definitely going down the drain! Good luck to you if you decide to go!

I wouldn t recommend the chicken crispy taco plate. The shell is not homemade & if it was, it wasn t of great quality. Could be better. Something about the cheese too wasn t great, low quality. I ve ordered many other dishes that are delish just don t recommend this is all.
