Omg..... I encourage you to try the salmon. The crunch that is on this salmon is amazing. I also had carrots and broccolini. My drink of choice was an old fashioned, it was great. The bartender couldnt smoke it, but it was good.

Stumbled across this hidden gym after everything being busy on a Sunday. The service from Rafael and Johnny B couldn t have been any better. Don t get me start with the Sam Houston Lunch entree. It s #texasAf! It had bbq burnt ends on side topped with a biscuit and huevo ranchero on the other side. Vegetarian options: It was only 1 no meat option besides salads Wheelchair accessibility: Ground level easily accessible

The Pearl is only open for breakfast, so lunch and dinner come out through bar. I wasnt happy since that wasnt what I was aiming for on a date night, a TV in the background. The food menu is limited but the steak and risotto were both well done. The bartender made the night enjoyable, extremely attentive. We got lucky it was practically empty. On a busy night, Im sure he wouldnt be able to attend to us as much. Overall if youre looking for a decent place to eat before a night on the town, this is it. If youre looking for upscale date night, this isnt.

Not a good experience at all. The place is nice, clean and the ambience is great but the food did not match the menu at all. The shrimp tacos did not have anything on it that the menu said it would. The chicken sandwich had chicken strips on it with a hot sauce on it but there was no mention of any of that on the menu.

Chef Raphael is a wonderfully good host. I had the burger and fries on the lunch menu and it was delicious, the meat was fresh and the fries were to die for. This place isn t usually crowded for lunch and breakfast and the prices are reasonable for a downtown and for the high quality food they produce.

How disappointing. In Houston for a show, from Nacogdoches we chose The Pearl as our out-of-town restaurant experience, because the menu looked SO good. First thing, the intersection they are at was filled with homeless people and police. Ok, its the city, it happens, and of course, you have to pay to park. Its 6 oclock pm, I call, and the person who answers takes our order, then the phone is handed off to someone else who informs me that they have none of the things Ive just ordered. They only have a limited selection from the bar menu. You know, chicken strips, etc. He blames the pandemic. Although no one else seems to be having this problem on this scale. We end up going across town for a less elevated, yet quite good meal. Maybe he should have said they fed it all to the homeless before we got there. I dont know that I would have believed that, either, but at least it would have been a noble sentiment.

We had breakfast there, and I ordered huevos rancheros. They were completely disappointing: overly crisp and tasteless tortillas, an equally tasteless and thin black bean paste (no sign of a whole bean anywhere), fried eggs that were unobjectionable, and a thin sauce that was surprisingly bland. I didnt bother finishing my meal. On the plus side, the bacon that I got as a side dish was reasonably good. But I would not consider eating here again.

The third time I was in town and at the Curio I decided to get dinner. I did not expect it to be so great. The Brussel sprouts were fantastic and salmon salad. Our server Jeffry was fantastic. He gave us many options for the food and explained all food items prior to ordering. Excellent service and great food. Not to mention the restaurant has a very nice ambiance/cozy and comfortable seating.

We ate there recently during our stay at The Sam. We had dinner one evening in breakfast before morning. Breakfast was great. I had the omelette and bacon as a side; my wife had migas and bacon. Overall, it was a wonderful way to start today. However, our dinner the previous night was less than stellar. I had the jumbo lump crab corn chowder and the spare rib. My wife had the tomato salad and the scallops. Her scallops and pasta were good, but the tomato was grossly over ripe and very mushy. My chowder was the best thing of the night. My short rib, spoetzel, and brussels sprouts were fine. The reason we chose to give this three stars was the fact that our dinner was so salty it was barely edible. Her scallop dish and my short rib dish were so salty we could barely eat them.

I went to dinner here about 3 weeks to a month ago and I ordered the steak and mashed potatoes which the dinner was lovely and delicious.. the service was nice and the environment was quiet. The next day I wake up to 2 extra charges on my card, basically the waiter charged me two times. I called the restaurant and told them about my situation they sounded very remorseful and said that someone would contact me within 5 business days so I waited actually a whole week because I know businesses are busy. So since no one called me back I called them and I got the FULL RUN AROUND. no one knew what to do or who I needed to talk to, the manager was supposedly never there so basically im out of double the money that I actually spent there and the average meal isnt cheap here as well. I understand mistakes happen but dont take peoples money like that. its just wrong. so all in all I will not be coming back here and its been literally a month and still no reimbursement for the extra charges or anything. Just dont go here, simple as that.
