Not particularly a reviewer but the science stuff is ok, underwhelming compared to the one in Florida. Went there on a Saturday, everyone that worked there seemed like rude, unpaid high schoolers with no training and dont want to be there at all. Maybe I was unlucky but I had a 2 star experience.

If you love rocket science, its a great place! History of all missions, curiosities, suits, rockets and you can even touch a piece of the moon and mars. Go prepared to spent more than two hours only to see the basics. There is a possibility to see the command center, but you have to pay extra. It gets crowded over time really easy, so get there early. If you buy tickets online you can same money and avoid some small lines. Souvenir shops are quite expensive

The Johnson Space Center in Houston is a must-visit for anyone fascinated by space exploration and NASAs history. As the heart of human spaceflight operations, the center offers a captivating glimpse into space missions, astronaut training, and cutting-edge research. The Space Center Houston, its visitors center, is packed with engaging exhibits, including a real Saturn V rocket, space capsules, and even the chance to see Mission Control in action. The tram tour is a highlight, taking you through various NASA facilities where real work happens. While it s an educational experience, it s also exciting and interactive, with plenty of hands-on activities for kids and adults alike. The overall atmosphere is inspiring, and it s an unforgettable experience for space enthusiasts and curious minds alike.

The space center is awesome and immersive! However, the tram tour is a load of waiting, we waited for 1 hour, for the 5min tram journey that take you the the Saturn V rocket (which is amazing) but then there is more waiting around for the team to pick you up (another 45mins). I do not know why this needs to be a tram and should not be advertised as a tram tour. Easily walkable but added another 2 hours (of standing) to the day. 5 star in the space center, 1 star for the tram.

I had higher expectations from this place. I was under the impression that this place would make visitors feel like they are in space, make them aware technologies, space environment, etc., but this place disappointed me. I don t see a point of driving to Houston, spending half a day, and feel underwhelmed. I think this museum should be designed to provide near real time experience or at least inspire people to be a scientist or astronaut.

It really needs to be streamlined and better thought out. It is very confusing and not easy to figure out where to go and how the tours work. They can send a rocket to the moon, but they cant coordinate a tour thats fun and easy to navigate? The audio speakers on the tram and parts of the training center tour are awful. You cant understand a word they are saying and the tram is jerky and uncomfortable. Diesel powered! Youd think they would be electric and modern by now. Its NASA! The Training Facility tour was a joke. There was no guide. We walked through a building with mock-up capsules, with 4 or 5 employees sitting around with laptop computers and snacking. No astronauts. No training. It was like a self-guided tour with minimal info as to what we were looking at. Some of the exhibits and tours are not well organized. On the other hand, some of it Is interesting! But it could be better.

I was expecting it to be better with time, but it has lost the interactive appeal. My husband came around 10 years ago and they even had more interactive things to do then. This has turned into an adult museum, not very friendly for kids, especially kids with autism. Maybe the tours are more interesting. Edited to add: the limited interactive exhibits that we did see were broken or being repaired.

The general admission Johnson Space Center was fun. However, much of the staff seemed untrained or apathetic. To be honest, they do not handle crowds well. It is pretty chaotic inside. We came from out of town specifically to see the Mission Control Tour. Considering gas, hotel, meals, etc., it is not a cheap trip. It rained during our tour time and our tour was abruptly cancelled with little explanation. When the rain stopped, other tours resumed and went through, but ours was simply cancelled. It seems to me that an organization that can plan Mars missions could figure out some way to provide a tour during the frequent rains in Houston, Texas. Be hyper aware of the weather. Apparently, they cannot operate during rain. Perhaps they should hire Disney. They would figure this out in not time.

First time stopping here and was very impressed with all it had to offer. Plenty of things to read up on and learn about our missions to space. Ended up spending a couple hours looking at all the various displays. Would visit again in the future!

The whole family had a great time! We arrived @ 0900. We did the training facility tour @ 0920 (get a pass from customer service as you walk in), then we did the shuttle tour on our own right after. We had enough time to do the Saturn tour before lunch and missed the crowd! We prebooked our Mission tour @ 1320. Definitely helped going early as we missed all the rush and crowds. We spent about 7 hours and it was worth it!

Had a great time at the Space Center and took the afternoon Astronaut Training tour which was fun and informative. I was compelled to do a lot of reading at the exhibits as I found they were the right length and well written. Between the tour and looking at the exhibits, we spent the better part of 5 hours onsite. Easy parking ($10) and a nice size museum.

not great for young kids or kids with disabilities it was very disappointing. There is a lot of reading, so kids above 8 would like it if they like space. The interactive area had a few things broken and the outside mars area is a joke they put out a few rocks for the kids to get up on, also no lawn games but so many dads in chairs sunbathing. The staff are not all on the same page or knowledgeable about the center when it comes to the trams. Its definitely a good place if you like to waste money. Im pretty sure Artemis is being funded by the gift shop.

Ive never been to this center. I am just commenting here because there is nowhere else to comment about the recent intuative machine moon landing. Nasa why couldnt we get a live video feed? I thought transparency was the goal? This is not the 1950s! A tesla car has over 10 cameras in a car and you couldnt place one? We stream everything now a days and we have satellites in space that can easily transmit video signals to us. Think people!? Why wouldnt they broadcast it?? Stop being fooled!

Well worth it if you are in the Houston/Galveston area. The Mission Control tour is a bit pricey for 45 minutes but still worth seeing. There are 87 steps that you walk up on this tour. If you are the least little bit out of shape, I suggest taking the elevator.

When I was young we used to go to NASA because it was free. We were able to get up close and let our imaginations run wild with aspirations of traveling to space. Although not free anymore there is a lot more to see to help those young minds shoot for the stars. Johnson Space Center is a place of wonder and amazement and you won t be disappointed visiting it. Here is a video from my last visit. https://youtu.be/xNEE2GEbXk8?si=EJIQ_8aCcBq8BZBA

This is a typical Tourist Trap. After buying your ticket, you will realize there are multiple additional tours that cost more money. The parking costs an additional $10 and is pay over the phone. Hint: dont pay it they will not fine you or charge you later. Water is $4 a bottle. The ticket to get in has some basic displays of fake equipment that is not real, but has been modeled to look real. The space shuttle does not have inflateable canvas wings. The plane on which it piggy backs, does not have an exterior made out of plastic. Most of the displays in the main area are fake and are just a representation of what the actual equipment would look like. The other items in the main area are mostly videos which I could have watched on youtube. There is also a simulator which is more of a cheap theme park ride. The astronaunt training facility tour is a ride on a tram where they point out a couple buildings. The tram tour guide had trouble speaking english (native language: ebonics) and had to read off a piece of paper. You enter one building and see the work area of some engineers, which is actually pretty cool. You are inside for 5-10 minutes tops, then the tram take you back to the main area. The tram tour was very disappointing. The also have some fake rockets on display which are obviously fake due to their small size. This might be a good place to keep your kids entertained, but any space lover will be highly disappointed as almost every thing is fake. Im not even sure the space center is part of Nasa, it feels like Nasa licensed a 3rd party to run a kids entertainment area. I drove down from Dallas, and it wasnt worth a 3 hour drive. Do not waste your time coming from out of state. I always thought we landed on the moon, but after the Space Center Johnson tour, I have to reconsider that maybe the lunar landing was faked. The whole space center johnson is just a money grab. Stay away.

Eh, get to the KENNEDY Space Center in Florida if you can. This one was absolutely meh in comparison. In all fairness, our family of 8 was already pretty tired out from getting off our 5-day Disney cruise and picking up our rental van that morning, and did not try to do any of the special experiences (VR, theater, etc.). But still, the Kennedy Space Center in Florida was like an AMUSEMENT park - MUCH bigger, more interactive and much more to see and do. The best thing here? Was the Food Lab. If it hadnt been for a NICE military discount, we wouldve been pretty upset about the cost given the lackluster experience.

Must-see attraction in Houston Plenty of exhibits, shows, and historical artifacts to check out. Id highly recommend making sure to incorporate the tram tour (to either the Mission Control or Astronaut training facility) into your visit. I found the show schedule extremely confusing to figure out. The shows are only listed on one area and the listed locations dont match the actual names on the brochure map. Other: Food court is solid. The Indian place offers a healthy, affordable option.

They have hugely improved the visitor experience. An ideal way to experience the center is to come at 10am and have all tours by 2pm. They take you to interesting sites in 3 tram tours, which you have to book from inside the place you enter. Mission control center is a must, but tbh all 3 are great. Last tram leaves at 3pm. Museum closes at 5pm.

Pay attention to the one sign they have at the entrance for shuttle times. I took this picture after closing but at 1 it s really easy to miss since it s a chaotic security line. NASA has this really advanced parking situation. There s signs EVERYWHERE in the parking lot on how to pay. It even scans as you drive away for easy leaving. There s a photo op stop as you enter the gate so you can purchase $30 souvenir photos and it s explained to you by employees BUT there s just one sign on online tickets line (employees block it) and one sign on onsite tickets purchase line on the other side and no employees to explain shuttles stop early. I purchased a 1:00 ticket and shuttles were stopped at 3:00. So I basically paid for a bunch of services that were only available for two hours. It did not mention that in my confirmation email. I was disappointed and a bit embarrassed the three veterans I had in my party would not be able to see any of the shuttle services. A manager in guest services was not very helpful and a bit rude and blamed the shuttle department and the shuttle department blamed guest services. It made no sense to me and when I went back to ask I was given a customer form to fill out and spoke to a girl who was more sympathetic. I didn t catch her name but her customer service was friendly and made me feel comfortable enough to return the next day to do the shuttle service. I had to pay again and it didn t seem fair. I wish it was organized better.

We loved it. So many things to do and see. Went to see Astronaut Anna Fisher and it was amazing. Arrived at 10 am and spent the whole day there and still wished we had more time there. HOWEVER on the way out we stopped by the gift shop and sadly it ruined the end of our day. Apparently they closed an hour earlier than the space center and there was this HORRIBLE attendant screaming at everyone to get in line and pay. Absolutely get that people want to go home at the end of their work day and had we known the shop closed earlier we wouldn t have even gone in, but this man was treating shoppers like cattle rounding he was rounding up. His behavior was so terrible and disrespectful and absolutely ruined the end of what otherwise would have been an amazing experience.

She doesnt want to be an astronaut, but she wants to be an Engineer. Experiences like that are worth it! Are your kiddos interested in working at NASA one day? Help them enrich their mind with endless possibilities by showing them whats there now. We took her on a tour of the control room. It was amazing.

Being up close to rockets and getting to go inside the sky lab and take multiple tours; one of the astronaut training facility and the other of Saturn V at rocket park are a must!! We spent the entire day there. We brought our own snacks since we are vegan we knew it would be limited at the food court. They did have a veggie burger and fries we could eat, that was a plus! Even with four young kids and a long day it was all worth it!!

The spacecraft on display, and the Apollo Mission Control centre, are amazing, and well presented. This kind of thing isnt on display in many places, and the admission price is worth it just for these. The other exhibits in the main hall, about the ISS and Mars, dont have a lot of information. Good for kids who are finding out about these topics for the first time, but a bit shallow even for older kids who have an interest in space. Some of the staff are great, especially on the tours and in the shop. Others not so good, quite unwelcoming.
