Had an amazing late lunch here. Had the Wagyu Meatballs and their wedge salad. Very tasty and the portions were huge. My only negative is the wedge wasn t cut in a wedges which made it difficult to eat. I managed tho. Service was prompt and super courteous. Forgot to take photos. I chose to return for dinner again the next night. I ordered the Atlantic Salmon with Polenta corn cake and sautéed squash, paired with a nice Pinot Grigio. It was delicious. Nice portions. And I remembered to snap a quick photo before devouring it. That chandelier is stunning

I ate here twice in one week but mostly because I was staying at the hotel. The menu selections were decent for a pseudo-hotel restaurant. But the mains are still pretty expensive, like $25+, and theres not much variaty in the cheaper options. The burger was $17 and apps were like $13 so, I ordered the red fish tacos the first time and the Ahi tacos the second. The red fish tacos were good though. Nice, soft tortilla and the corn dish that comes on the side was really good. The ahi tacos, I did not like. It said it came with a ginger slaw but all I could taste was ponzu. And the crispy tortilla had no flavor and had a but of a fresh fried oil feel without the heat. All of this and combined with the cold presentation (recognizing that ahi is supposed to be served cold), I just didnt like it. So, if you youre staying at the hotel, its good based on convenience, but not that impressive for the food that I had. Oh, and please clean the mirrors that decorate the walls and behind the bar!

While staying downtown Houston for night, stopped in Hearsay On The Green for Happy Hour and dinner. We had the Crab crusted Redfish, which was great. They also have a very good Happy Hour with pullpork tacos and good drinks. I liked their Hearsay Old Fashion. They were not as big a restaurant as their other locations, but the food was just as good.

The service is always outstanding, the managers and staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome and ensure a great experience. It can get pretty busy when Astros are playing or Toyota center has events, so recommend making a reservation on those nights

We stopped by before heading to Discovery Green. I had the Lemon Drop Martini and the Wagyu Meatballs, which was yummy. Then, we stopped back by after the event for dinner. I had the Seared Atlantic Salmon and a Lemon Drop Martini from a different bartender. And Let me say that both bartenders were amazing. This was my first time ever going, and I went twice in one day, so that says a lot. I will go back again for sure.

The hostess was ready to help as soon as one stepped thru the door. The bartender at first was a little rude. There are ways of letting a customer know that the chair is taken without raising your voice and staring with Hey hey... Noice level was not high and therefore no excuse for the behavior. The drinks were very good. We have returned, and we have now tasted their food and wow. We tasted their calamari, their blacken red fish tacos, hamburger, wagyu beef hotdog, and their scallops. Not one one complaint on any of the dishes we had. This time around, all staff were awesome.

My only disappointment is that I only got to eat one helping of the available desserts. I tried one of the plant based pasta dishes: filling & excellent leftovers for later. I sampled their home distilled brew: also amazing. Vegetarian options: Clearly labeled and ample options. I am not a healthy vegetarian though. I am all about cake and booze.

Close to Discovery green. We went in at about 9ish pm and left at closing time. There was a group of rowdy sport enthusiasts at the bar who not only were loud for the place (not as big as the pics make it look) but also decided to make comments on my pregnant partner. Went here for lunch with some coworkers around noon. Unfortunately the restaurant seemed pretty understaffed, and it was hard for us to get anything in a timely manner. It took us around 25 min to have our order taken, 40 min for our food, and 10 minutes for the bill to come out. Some of us had to leave early to make it to meetings in time. Overall this wait time really put a damper on my experience, though I understand it is hard to offer good service when one waiter is covering multiple sections. In terms of food, most of my coworkers were satisfied. The brussel sprouts delicious and were the only thing that came out promptly. They also enjoyed the salmon. I had a vegetarian dish - the pasta Primavera with pesto. I would not recommend this dish - the pesto was very oily and the dish lacked flavor. Vegetarian options: A lot of vegetarian options. Dont get the pesto pasta though.

This is great place for date night dinners or even casual hangout. It has both the vibes of fine dine and casual dining. The staff was friendly and atmosphere was cozy. We tried their Easter prefix menu and rib eye steak. The Easter menu had choice of soup/salad, choice of entree and choice of dessert. We tried crab chowder which was mouthwatering delicious. The lamb chops were tender and juicy and the bread pudding was cherry on the cake. The steak was juicy and well cooked. It was very pleasant visit for us. We enjoyed our time. Highly recommend!

Went today for brunch, I ordered the 3 course meal which included gumbo, lamb chops and a dessert. All 3 courses were flavorful however, my gumbo was cold, my entree was lukewarm, the dessert was good (bread pudding). I really am curious to know why the food comes out cold because my daughter s food was also cold (filet mignon/shrimp). Upon a recommendation from the concierge, we visited hearsay. We ordered deviled eggs and meatballs to start. Absolutely phenomenal and recommend! Entres were great as well. This place was amazing!!! Our server was super friendly, and everything came out timely (take to note, I went on a Monday night). Appetizers are truly sharable, and portions were somewhat large! My glass of Sauvignon Blanc was more pricey($14), but it was still great! I came with 3 friends and not one of us had a single complaint about our food. Everything was 10x better than we imagined. The restaurant is located confidently downtown near Discovery Green and the Toyota Center. It is also connected to an Embassy Inn and Suites, but you can go through the restaurant doors if you re not staying overnight in the hotel. I would recommend this restaurant to someone who wants to have a slightly elevated dinner with great quality and a reasonable price! For food, I would recommend the Garlic Green Beans (appetizer), and Tuscan Chicken Pasta (entree). Dietary restrictions: Many Gluten Free and Vegetarian option available!

Very nice restaurant and the food was way better than I expected. I started with the buffalo , and this was super good. Since I was already in shrimp mode I then had the bacon wrapped which was to die for! Next time Ill probably embarrass myself and just get a double order of the bacon wrapped . We came here before our Broadway show in the theatre district to eat. Good service. Food was excellent. We had the tiger shrimp calamari Kong Pao style appetizer. Not spicy just a tad and very delicious. Spinach artichoke cheese dip also good. Fish taco was tasty and came with four little tacos and street corn. Patty melt was very good. Home made potato fries are delicious, best fries we ve had in a long time. The impossible burger was so good! Overall, a great place to meet before a game or show. Went here during thanksgiving weekend so it was super slow. The ahi tuna tacos were so delicious that Im dreaming about them 2 weeks later. My wife got a party melt. It was good but the fries -- they were insane. Theyre not thick logs nor thin needles. Theyre.... I had lovely experience here. The blackens red fish tacos were absolutely phenomenal. The sauce, with the fish and the crunch of the red onion was amazing. The green salsa was fire . The corn was warm, creamy and salty; the way this style of corn should be. My daughter had their wagyu dog and rosemary fries . The dog was juicy and the rosemary fries were crispy and seasoned well. We visited downtown Houston for an extended vacation and will remember Hearsay On The Green as a highlight of the trip. It is hard to find good braised short rib in Michigan where we live, but this meal was delicious! It was perfectly cooked and the cheesy grits & Brussels sprouts were awesome accompaniments. Went last night with family and friends in the evening time and our group ordered steaks, they came out quick and the food was cold and flavorless!! The waiter was not attentive and overall service and food was horrible!! This will be last time we go to this location!!! We paid sooo much money for cold and flavorless food!!! DO NOT GO TO THIS ESTABLISHMENT!!!!

Giving two stars because the waiter was GREAT and the cocktail was good, I know I got I should ve went to Wendy s!! The food was not good. I had the shrimp and grits. The plate came out very quickly. It looked nicer however, it wasn t good and the portion size for the price was imbalanced. And to top it off the bill was outrageous for the quality of the food!

I went here on a Tuesday around 12:30 pm and the vibes and attention given by staff made me feel like gold! The Gumbo, spinach dip, and Avo Cucumber salad was amazing. I can honestly say I ve never had a better experience at any restaurant. I wish I had the names of all the staff members who helped us because even if the food wasn t amazing, I d want to come back just for them.

Deviled eggs were salty with no depth. Fried chicken sandwich was okay. Huge sandwich. The Flaming leah was made with well vodka. Not very good. The service was subpar. We had to wave our waiter down multiple times to order. My friend enjoyed the red fish tacos.

If you can battle the parking and neverending construction, this is a nice place to grab a drink and a bite. Nice selection of beers on tap, good spirits, and some good signature cocktails. The atmosphere is great and service is descent.

I m usually a Hearsay Stan but today they disappointed me. I ordered the gumbo cup which is subpar I wanted to try something new and should of known better. Anywho they only gave me like a dollop of rice. I asked the lady what am I supposed to do with this then they charge you for more. I also had the cheesesteak egg rolls and they were okay I feel like they weren t stuffed like they normally are. Truly disappointed today

This restaurant can get packed quickly especially after events happening in the area. Nice modern atmosphere. I love the chandelier in there. Our waiter was slow but I didn t mind too much because I like to enjoy my meal with feeling like I m being rushed. The food was good. I had the salmon and really enjoyed it, my friend got the shrimp and grits, the shrimp was wrapped in bacon can t go wrong there but the grits weren t as creamy as she likes them to be, and my other friend had the lamb chops no complaints there. Everything had a lil kick to it but not too much. The cream brûlée was really good (one of the best I ve had) and the bread pudding wasn t bad either. I like the portion size not too little and not too much. The menu is fairly priced. I can t wait to try them for brunch.

I wasnt impressed. The atmosphere was good, and the food meh. The pictures are deceiving when it comes to the food. I ordered the jalopeno artichoke dip, and it was a little bland. The waiter was nice, but the service wasnt that great. Our glasses were always empty, and we had to continue to ask for things that hed forgotten about. Since it was a group gathering and gratuity was already included, I felt he did the bare minimum bc he was getting tipped anyway. Maybe I will give it another try, but no time soon.

Went here for dinner my first night in Houston only because it was inside the hotel...I ordered the stuff shrimps & grits...had to send my plate back twice due to the fact that my grits were COLD...told the waiter to tell the chef that I was from Ga and that we eat our grits HOT...the chef apologized and said that my meal was on him and the third plate - the grits were HOT...the stuff shrimps were great despite the 2 failed attempts....which lower the ratings...if my grits were HOT on the first attempt, I would had given 5 stars across the board...

The food was delicious. We are a vegetarian/vegan couple and the menu had several choices for us. Everything was delicious. Our friends who are not vegetarians loved their dishes too. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. It is easy access from the Embassy Suites Hotel, where we were staying. We recommend this for a nice dining experience.

Prior to attending July 2023, I have frequented, raved, and suggested not only Hearsay, but this specifically this location. That has now changed. The server Omar was slow. I honestly don t even know why because it s not that he was attending other tables. He was no where to be found to even attempt to get his attention in the restaurant. We never got refills on any our drinks as requested. Not even water. I ordered the chicken and waffles which is usually my go to order but they served chicken tenders and not the usual chicken thigh. It may not be a big deal to some but the flavor of the chicken tenders weren t the same and lacked flavor or seasoning. Now due to me being present to celebrate my birthday, I asked did they do anything special, he stated that he wasn t sure and never came back with a answer. Once I advised the waiter that the service wasn t up to par as we usually had, he stated he would talk to the manager and send him or her over. I asked 3 times, and they were never sent over. He just kept talking as if I never asked. I didn t want to make a scene so we paid and left. I have called several times today to simply relay the message to the manager that I dined and wasn t happy and to just voice my opinion but never got a phone call back or they are simply always in a meeting. I truly enjoying some signature items and the vibe here but this has truly left a sour taste in my mouth hearsay. I hope y all get better.

3.5 stars. I first gave this restaurant 5 stars and glowing reviews 5 years ago. Ive been here over the years since and after watching the changes, I had to come back and drop the rating. They used to have phenomenal food and drinks. It was absolutely one of our favorite restaurants. Apparently its under new management and none of its as good. Its not bad, its just... Mediocre. The drinks arent as well crafted... Just pretty basic specialty drinks. They completely changed the menu and the meals dont have the same care and nothing sets them apart from most other Houston restaurant. So basically, if the new manager was going for decent but nothing special, they accomplished it. Service was good, food was ok...ehhh....

This was a small place so it was crowded. I ordered a rum and coke tall (means extra soda) which they just gave me a normal sized rum and coke. I ordered the shrimp and grits. It was pretty good. The bacon wrapped shrimp were deep fried. The grits in it were seasoned well. I was disappointed with the size of the dish. There was a decent amount of shrimp, but I felt skimped on the grits. Grits are cheap. I felt the ratio of grits to shrimp was off. Service was fine to start with but after we got our food the waiter kind of started disappearing, delaying the ordering of a dessert from someone at the table. No kids menu that I saw

The food here was absolutely fantastic! I will definitely be back. In fact....probably again this week. The gumbo was incredible! Best that i have had in a VERY long time. They can give a lil more shrimp but it is filled with a combo of meats. Seriously I wont go anywhere else for gumbo. Ive found my spot! The meatball app was fantastic too! It had amazing flavor and texture. The rosemary parm fries were cute but nothing Id pay for. The sweet potato wedges were good but again nothing I would pay for. I love sweet potatoe fries so i wasnt prepared for the wet baked very candied (sweet) version. They were good just not my jam. The chicken milanease was also incredible. Party in your mouth flavors. Id say that they have mastered entrees and apps. I dodnt taste the mac, but it looked good. The shared sides are just not an expenst that I would add. But that gumbo!!!! OMG-5STAR all day! Parking: Plenty Kid-friendliness: You can bring um if well behaved but wed prefer ya didnt. Its more of an old schhool adult salon vibe.
