Great little bar with a cool stage setup. Saw Sarah Shook & the Disarmers tonight and theres not a bad seat in the house. Next time Ill buy a table for two instead of standing tickets but for not knowing what I was doing having never been there, it was still a blast just sitting at the bar watching the show. Get out and go!

I recently visited Mucky Duck and was thoroughly disappointed with the overall experience. Firstly, the prices were exorbitant for what was offered. A simple burger and fries cost more than at a high-end restaurant in the city center, without the quality to match. Sure you say you use high end, expensive ingredients but that really means nothing if its not cooked well. My thin patty was actually two separate pieces of meat and was just falling apart. The service was not great and appeared like they had one burnt out waiter for every table. It took forever to get the attention of the server and we were without refills for most of our meal. Overall, Mucky Duck is a prime example of overpriced mediocrity coupled with poor service. Save your money and dine elsewhere where youll get better value for your hard-earned cash. P.S- no offense taken. I try new places and if I dont like them then I count it as a loss and dont return. Complaining wouldnt make my food or bill better.

Overall not great experience. Food is overpriced for what we ordered. What really threw me off is the fact it s 2024 and you don t offer free refills on soda. Walked from hotel to pizza place up road, saw this establishment on walk there. After picking up my pizza I stopped In to check out the place. Seemed like a great atmosphere but very busy bartender told me id have to leave as I had outside food. I explained it was for me and my boss, i had no intention of eating onsite, he asked another laid back fellow, not busy, he agreed I had to leave. Mostly likely for the best, nice selection of drinks, Id probably have a pull or two many. Live and learn. Mucky duck before capones apparently if in area

What a cool place! Its off the beaten path, so I never would have found it if we didnt have concert tickets there. Its a quaint and intimate place, it felt like you were stepping right into a pub in Ireland, no longer in Houston. The historic photos on the walls were so much fun to look at. Just such a great vibe. The manager was awesome, playful and very inviting. Our server was great, even with how busy she is was! I loved that they asked for conversations to be kept down during the performance, so we could enjoy it. And enjoy it we did! Lovely little place! I will definitely be coming back here!

What a great place. I have been to many Irish Pubs all across the USA and in Ireland and this place is pretty good. The food was excellent and they have many drinks to choose from. Live music almost every night and on Wednesday they have Irish music. Outside patio area is very nice. Lots to do here. The dessert was exceptional. We had the Mac and cheese with bacon as an appetizer and the Guinness stew as a entree and they were both great. I would recommend this place if you want to have some drinks or some good Irish food. Go and enjoy the music also. We will be going back.

My friend and I went to a show here for the Anachronicals. It was a great set and lovely atmosphere. Their music really suited the small cozy atmosphere will. It was a great turnout as well. The food was decent. I had come here before for lunch and my friend had gotten the fish and chips and they were nice, hot and crispy. I ordered the fish and chips this night and two were stale, one was good. So, I kind of cut my losses with that... We also got the mark Portugal sandwich that wasnt as good as we thought it would be, especially being one of their signature dishes. For it to be an open face sandwich, it didnt have enough going on to be considered an open face sandwich IMO.. It was like a subway sandwich, that you could fold, and still eat without a mess. Vegetables or something on top would have been a welcome sight. We also got the guvnors mousse . Unless youre a super chocolate lover, I wouldnt order this, as it is a bitter chocolate.. My friend wanted it more so than I did, so thats what we got. The little chocolate sticks that come in it, were perfection! I would have preferred the boozy cake or the chocolate chip cookie pizza with ice cream. They were out of the cider that my friend wanted to order as well, so that was a bit of a disappointment! But he settled for a Guinness and enjoyed it. He said that it was a perfect pour! I know nothing about the pour of a beer, but apparently this one took the cake! So, if youre looking for a bartender with a perfect pour, they have one!

Great place to watch an upclose intimate concert with friends. Not a bad seat in the house. We recently went to watch Eric Hutchinson and the staff was very prompt, friendly and attentive. Decor is eclectic but fun with something unique everywhere you look. Food smelled and looked good but we only ordered a couple of drinks. And that is where the problem came in... we expected them to be at a premium but for what you get we both left feeling they were over priced. My wife got an espresso martini that ended up costing $20 and I dont drink so I got a handcrafted soda and it came in a 3oz glass for $9. For the price I would of expected at least a whisky glass size.

This is absolutely one of Houstons best venues for live music. The staff and bartenders are tops!

McGonigel s Mucky Duck is an intimate venue for enjoying music, friends, food and drinks! And it s an absolute PLUS if you also manage to patronize this establishment on a night that the wonderful Annika Chambers & Paul Deslauriers are performing. Just saying. NOTE: These videos and photos are from the Good Trouble album release party for the married duo, Annika Chambers & Paul Deslauriers!

My friend and I decided to walk to this place while in the area. Immediately we were stopped by a man at the door asking if we had tickets, we said no we just want to go to the bar. He curtly said we can t go inside, we can only walk around to the back. I understand the idea of a ticketed event but there was no sign at the front indicating the current event & the worker at the front could have been nicer about directing us. After walking to the back to order a drink, we were pleasantly surprised at the taste of the Irish coffee. Not sure if I ll go back because of the prices and overall staff interactions.

Rarely give 5 stars. But the folks here are amazing. You will never go to music club that feels like family, but this place you do. I can t even come up with ironic joke for them. Keep up the the good work rusty.

Fish and Chips are way too expensive! $22 for 3 medium size portions. The cod was fresh and light but the chips were just like frozen American french fries. Would of been better with fresh hand cut potatoes. Not worth the price. If youre from the UK or Ireland dont get your hopes up with this one, not even close to tasting like home.

Stopped in one night just for a quick peek and was given a tour of one of the most intimate yet diverse restaurants I have seen in Houston the bartender Tiffany even though I did not order anything serve me with a smile while she demonstrated the amount of care that this place is apparently known for I would recommend this restaurants / pub and grill to everyone and anyone who likes live music

First time visit. Cons: This place needs to clean its beer lines. The Guinness was okay, but two of the other beers sucked. They had that funky bacterial taste. The small group playing traditional Irish music was good, but in a full room with no microphones & speakers, it wasnt as enjoyable as it could have been. Finally the place seemed a little dirty. Pros: This is a neat, tucked away little bar with a great vibe. The food offerings are what you would expect from an Irish bar and they looked and smelled great (though I, myself did not eat - see my last comment in Cons). Its one of the few places you can hea tradional Irish music in Houston and, despite the very low volume, it was quite a treat. Overall: I am assuming I caught them on an off night. So, Ill definitely be back.
