MEN if you are the higher wage earner, even if you are retirement age, DO NOT agree to binding arbitration with Haston Law Firm or anyone else or you will walk away with only 20%-30% of the value. If you look at the distribution of his reviews, more of the positive reviews are women, and more of the negative reviews are men. I went into this arbitration to divide up personal household effects in a positive way based on the mediation process with Craig, but ended up wasting my time and my money. It was like my requests and justification went in one ear and out the other, as if I was only a ghost in the room. Craig expropriated most of the value and most of the contents of the household effects to my ex spouse (70% of contents and 80+% of value). This rubber stamped list includes many items that were dear to me resulting from my first international work assignment that kicked off my international career. So much are one of a kind and not replaceable. The most expensive art, rugs, and asian hardwood furniture he awarded 100% to my ex spouse. The arbitration award is not even logical, for example he awarded her so much of the household effects she will not be able to afford the sq ft of a house needed to hold it all. Maybe he has been in the divorce system for so long he became just a cog in a system biased against men that he is no longer capable of thinking that fair and equitable can mean 50/50. The person harmed by this outcome is my 11 year old son who has dyslexia. Since my ex-spouse said she will not pay any of the special education my son needs, it will fall 100% on me and I can no longer afford the special schooling now, because I have to repurchase what was expropriated so I can provide reasonable living accommodations during my possession time.

The Haston Law Firm went to great lengths to ensure the most favorable outcome for my case, that s what 20+ years of experience will get you. They were honest and professional at all times and had extensive knowledge regarding family law which is why I won my case. This law firm has cost me nearly $100k and has proved to be incompetent. Craig Haston negligently drafted and had me sign a settlement agreement that awarded all items in the marital home including my personal property, heirlooms etc. to my wife. He then tried to blame me for this! His assistant pointed out that the original draft of the agreement had a carve out whose intention was to allow me to retain such items, but Haston ignored it. The State Bar, remarkably, excuses such acts of omission and negligence from its disciplinary process, so I have no comeback against a lawyer I wish I had never appointed and who has been a huge let down. I recommend taking your business elsewhere.

Craig Huston is an excellent attorney.Absolutely invaluable life saver amongst a sea of sharks. He has a bias to resolve matters in a non-adversarial manner, but will represent his clients with strength, professionalism and attention to detail as necessary. Im very grateful for his counsel, empathy and assurance in my divorce process. I was much better off for having had him in my corner. Mr. Haston hosted and facilitated mediation for my divorce case. He was able to effectively dig into the details that were important to the case and sift though the details that were not. I understand that he has a great track record for being able to settle cases in mediation that appear to unlikely to settle, and I believe this 100%. If you are looking for a mediator that is fair and takes a very logical approach, then Mr. Haston is your man.

A year ago at this time, I was totally confused about how to move ahead with my divorce. I was in deep spiritual, emotional, and financial pain. Craig Haston brought reason, calm, and compassion to this extremely difficult process. He is highly respected by his peers and his positive influence on all parties created a productive problem-solving environment which defused conflict, saved money, and significantly shortened the time it took to complete my divorce. Were it not for his professional, collaborative, and firm hand guiding things, I am sure my divorce would have devolved into financial and emotional chaos. I cannot fully express my gratitude. Mr Haston and his lawyers represented me over a 4 year period during an extremely difficult divorce involving not only marital infidelity but embezzlement and gambling debt over $750K. This manipulation of community property would have never been discovered without Mr Hastons law firm and the diligence to detail and accounting. We were able to settle the divorce in mediation and thus avoid a costly trial not only in dollars but emotional liability. The only reason Mr. hasten is getting one star is so I can actually write and post a review! Poor representation never worked in a timely manner always had to follow up constantly making sure things were getting done! This law office is one that you don t want to go with! Here s my explanation on child support and arrears owed after having proof of payments on a joint bank account Retained early April 2nd week 3weeks after we retained hasten we were promised a letter to the AG asking them to hold any enforcements while we gather evidence and documentation. We received several letters from the child support office of when we needed to respond also arrears were sent to my husbands credit report, we finally get the office Corey Miller to anwser us and give us a time line of what we needed to do when it should have been done the week we retained them to avoid any issues. Instead she gave us more of a headache and caused us more stress in this mess. We dropped five grand and signed a contract to get no where. While we did our part they failed numerous times do their part. Instead of helping us they actually wasted our time and money. The day we decided to withdraw that s when she decides to explain herself rudely that it s not their problem! This is a lawyer you do not want to waste your time on read all the reviews before you retain this office!!!! No we are not dishonest people Alicia D! We are Christians and unfortunately be fore you start making any assumptions on what you think you know or understand is the delay and misleading information they were giving us! My husband is an upfront honest loving father whom has an ex wife that is be dishonest about form of payment she agreed upon! Frank Vendt is amazing upfront attorney and has taken every step to get things taken care of! Hasten firm just wasted our time and money so we re not happy with nothing getting done. Our case never got completed so it has nothing to do with be dishonest or not liking that we didn t get what we wanted it just didn t go anywhere yet. So we took matters into our own hands and went elsewhere.

Had mediation at this branch of the Haston Law Firm. Instead of traditional mediation, Mr.Haston spent the 8 hour duration (along with my attorney) attempting to bully me into accepting the first deal from the respondent. I highly suggest using another mediator if at all possible.

Mr. Haston is a poor choice of representation if you have a child and are divorcing, especially if you are a father. He works for the Family Law Foundation and lobbies state officials against changes to laws that would encourage equal shared parenting. He makes his money off high conflict and wants to keep it coming in.
