This restaurant is the definition of class. Disarming when you first walk in through what feels like an incorrect door, Turner s fires hard on all cylinders. Blow n away doesn t even begin to describe our experience at this hidden treasure in the Post Oak area of Houston. Ambiance redefined. The aim was to go for a New York supper club, and from the movies I ve watched I think they nailed it. A live pianist takes his seat early into the evening to work his magic and add another layer of class you weren t quite ready for yet. Impeccable is the only way to describe every aspect of this operation. You re literally waited on hand and foot in one of the finest establishments I ve ever had the pleasure of dining in. If you re in the dog house, this place is a sure fire way to be king again. Vegetarian options: Ask your server but they should be able to accommodate Dietary restrictions: Ask your server Parking: Valet or park in the back Kid-friendliness: I never say this, but absolutely not Wheelchair accessibility: I would call first but they should be able to accommodate

Oh brother! Its a really great place despite being kind of expensive. We went for the first time but didnt get a table because we didnt have a reservation but decided to sit in the bar area. The atmosphere was enjoyable. The bartender was very friendly, the drinks were very well done, the food excellent and the service was super. We are going back there again with a reservation.

Money doesnt always equate to quality, and Turners is a good example of that. The service was inattentive; after finishing our meal, the empty plates sat on our table for over 15 minutes without any acknowledgment. As for the food, it was simply average nothing stood out, and I would rate it as okay. If youre familiar with J. Alexanders filet mignon, youll likely agree that Turners falls far behind in comparison. On the entertainment side, the experience was weird. The bar tender would reproduce recorded music on the background during live standard jazz performance, which was, in my opinion, unrespectful with the artist and the audience. Overall, I would rate Turners experience as mid quality.

Hidden to the left of Annie s Cafe. Very small intimate restaurant. Small menu, heavy on seafood. Juan took great care of us. Artichoke soup was too bitter for our taste. Yummy free bread service. Had the duck special and ribeye. Meats seasoned well. Pomme purée could use more cream. Live piano player that sings was a nice touch and took request. He plays until 12:30am on Saturday nights. A great place for date night. Limited seating so we were stuck in a two top off to the side of main dining. Would recommend to try once. Complementary valet

Great wine list and amazing musicians. My 3rd visit here and never disappointed. Last was here on Friday the 12th, July after the hurricane and they only had 7 tables but they still had 3 musicians preforming which were all incredibly talented. Dinner and wine for 2 people is around $400 upwards depending on your wine selection and of course how much you drink and tip. Have an upcoming reservation in 2 weeks but surely it will be much busier.

Just took my bride to Turners for our 33rd anniversary. We dine out a lot and our preferences may not be yours. First of all, the service and beauty of this restaurant is top notch. Amanda and Lucas at the bar were informative and great to chat with as we enjoyed a cocktail or two prior to dinner. Try the butter-washed martinis. Vic and team were our servers and the team didnt disappoint explaining the menu and process of how we will be served. Never rushed, we enjoyed multiple courses. Impressive was Vic noticing the wine we ordered needed to chill a bit before serving. His solution was a couple of compd glasses of wine. That was much appreciated and creative. Now to the food. The menu is diverse and has something for everyone. We were a bit boring tonight and ordered the wedge salad, shrimp cocktail, Scottish salmon and whole Branzino. The wedge was delicious, however, the bacon item was more of thick cut pork belly and was not a well paired item for this salad. I appreciate the creativity, but a mouthful of salad which includes a soft slab of pork belly wasnt our favorite. A crunchy bacon would have been a better addition, in our opinion. Both fish dishes were perfectly cooked. I should have begun by saying my bride and I typically let the server decide the best way to order our dishes and welcome their suggestions. In this case, the addition of the lump crab sauce was suggested and we agreed. The sauce was delicious, dont get me wrong, but the Branzino already comes with a mussel and broth topping and adding the lump crab sauce was a bit much for this dish. If the chef suggested it this way, as a rule, then why not have it that way on the menu? Adding it, just to add it, may not have been my choice but we go with the server most of the time. The perfectly cooked fish dishes turned into more of fish stews ruining the crispy skins on both the salmon and Branzino. You must order the coconut cake! Period! We will definitely be back due to the service alone. This place is doing it right from the service side. Bravo. Thanks for a great experience yall.

It s difficult to find the door to begin. Second I had made a reservation and I had to stand in the walkway between the bar and the restroom until my table became available. After being sat down the staff only gave us a drink menu had us order and left. I had to track down another waiter for a entree menu. 20 minutes go by and no one had acknowledged that we still have not ordered. I had to track down another waiter to submit an order. 40 minutes later our food arrived. Ofcourse after we mentioned to the staff that we still have not received our food. Tables around us were having the same issues. This restaurant is one you go to if you just want to kill time and loose your appetite after the lengthy time of no service.

This is a review of two visits to a restaurant with inconsistent experiences. The first was magical, the second I wish to forget. The first was in May 2023, and our party of 2 had a wonderful evening. Exceptional service, outstanding food, delicious wine, and a lively (but not noisy) atmosphere. We enjoyed the house caviar, the mushroom tarts(inspired) and then my companion had the coq-au-vin ( best chicken dish ever ) and I had the lobster gnocchi. We finished with the coconut cake (divine). For drinks, we started with cocktails (the butter martini was extraordinary) and a delightful bottle of Puligny Montrachet. Everybody was dressed according to the house rules (jacket, long sleeved shirt) so it felt special. When the bill arrived, it was the largest I had ever spent on a non-business meal, but it was absolutely worth it. Last night, we returned for a special occasion, hoping for a repeat experience. Unfortunately, it was not to be. The staff was quite overwhelmed. The coq-au-vin was mediocre and the sauce watery. The coconut cake was sub-par, I could have got better at Randalls. Worse than that, they had a jazz singer who, once started, made it almost impossible to have a conversation without shouting. She murdered about 10 of my favorite songs, with a voice that was, unfortunately, flat. Even worse, there were groups of revellers in short sleeved polo shorts whooping it up like a sports bar. Now, I may come across as a bit stuffy and old fashioned, but I enjoy loud bars as much as the next person, but in BARS, not in fancy restaurants. The second time, when the bill came, I thought it was about 3-4 times as much as it should have been, given the experience. Robert Del Grande, please take note. We will probably not be back. We saw you there the first time, so perhaps you were away for the second. But a good restaurant should run well when the owner is not there. A real shame.

We went to Turners for Valentines Day. The restaurant is beautiful and the decor is lovely. They had a live piano player, which was a nice touch to the ambiance. The food was very good but nothing extraordinary. When you walk in to the restaurant you immediately walk into a very narrow bar. Its very tight and congested. The space makes you feel uncomfortable right away. We were tardy to our reservation by 20 minutes. They are very assertive about all reservations only get the table for 2 hours. Which we were still allotted that time even though we were late. We felt rushed at the end of our meal. The waiter suggested a bottle of wine after our initial cocktails which would have been very hard to consume in that window of time. The waiter however was excellent and very thorough. The thing that left a bad taste in mouth and the main reason why Im not giving a five star review is that they charged us a fee of $16 dollars for not paying in cash! We spent $515 dollars on dinner for two and then get charged an additional fee for not paying in cash!? Thats insane in my opinion. We had a nice meal but honestly I wont go back.

Probably one of the worst dinners of my life. Came here for a birthday dinner last night and we were ALL disappointed, even the birthday girl. My boyfriend ordered the wagyu steak that it came with a side enchilada? so weird I ordered the burger cause nothing sounded good, and honestly, shake shacks burger had more flavor. The steak tartare tasted like pure tomato paste and the meat looked like it came from a grounded beef package roll, nobody could eat it. Some people ordered steaks and they were bland, no flavor. The bread was the only thing we all enjoyed and the music. Service was good, everybody is very friendly but I honestly dont know how this place is still open. We all agreed this is not a place we would go back.

Incredible atmosphere, attentive service, moderate food. We celebrated a birthday here and the intimate atmosphere is what drew us in. We loved the rich details, club chair comfort style seating, live piano/singing, 12/10! Unlike many other reviewers, we received top notch service. We dined on a Thursday evening and were sat immediately. Incredibly attentive and knowledgeable staff. Mgmt stopped by a couple times to ensure we were satisfied, 12/10. Where Turner s fell short is the menu. Here s what we ordered: Fried quail - well seasoned and deep fried. Liked the sausage gravy, but didn t impress. Wagyu filet - petite, lacking in flavor. Had better filets at Eddie V s. Potato bake with Mayo based topping was quite good. Tomato soup - bland, not impressed. Skirt steak - flavorful and tender. Tetrazzini - disappointed we spent $32 on this. Pass. Coconut cake - wonderful! Highly recommend! Bread - the complimentary bread is what we keep talking about long after dinner. Great pretzel bread, we d go back just for the bread. We should be saying this about the other menu items.

I loved every part of my dining experience here! Incredibly attentive service, beautiful inventive food, the music being played on the piano, divine! The ambiance superb. Worth every penny! An absolute treasure of a place. If you want to go somewhere different and have a special evening, this is the place! I have no idea why anyone could possibly give less than 5 stars. Ill be back every chance I can get!

I ll say the service and atmosphere were lovely - very thoughtful staff with great cocktails. But the food left something to be desired. All in all, the food was fine, but nothing that couldn t have been achieved at home. Hardly worth the money in our opinion. Not to mention we waited 30+ minutes for our reservation.

Like an exclusive dining club for fine dining that spares no expense. From the baby grande piano to the monkey butler chandelier the ambience is eclectic, the service impeccable and the menu items creative and clever. I highly recommend it.

Turners is simply one of the best restaurants I have enjoyed. The entrance is kind of hidden as if you are going to some extremely select and secret place. Once inside, the service is wonderful. The food is spectacular. Very well worth the price. We will definitely be back.

Our first time here. Zero social distancing. Tables 2 feet apart. Acoustics very poor and piano player made it impossible to talk to my wife. Food really weird. Grilled octopus with bbq sauce. The culinary sin of all time. I had a $78 dover sole that was so rich and soaked in butter that I could not eat it. My wife a mozzarella salad with about 2 8 oz of two big globs of cheese. Could not wait to leave this place and waiter could not wait to get us out. Worst dining experience ever in Houston .

Great new restaurant. Has an interesting old school vibe, but avoids a stuffy atmosphere with great service and pleasant live piano. The food is pretty classic in approach. We started with the land and sea. Wagyu carpaccio was paired with oyster for a fine light start. Next, the escargot was brought to life with a light phyllo puff pastry to provide a light crunch to the sumptuous, rich sauce. My favorite main was chicken and dumplings. Our chicken was light and flavorful with a truffle punch. The lobster thermidor had Southwest twist with diced peppers and a creamy sauce, but I personally prefer the classic. Overall, Turner s is another great addition by the Berg Hospitality group and we will definitely be coming back.

Absolutely incredible! Truly one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. The ambience was decadent and felt like you had stepped into a secret, glamorous club in New York. The food was delicious with creative approaches to classic comfort foods. The service was amazing and the live piano was the cherry on top. I definitely look forward to going back!

What a great space! Very traditional fine dining. Service is excellent! Enjoyed the Christmas lunch offering. Sea Bass with caviar sauce was cooked perfectly. The touch of goat cheese and cranberry to the Butternut Squash soup wasa delight. I dont typically drink gin but the Gin Fizz was a delight! Space is beautiful designed for that cozy comfort vibe.

Came here on Saturday for a date night. The food and service were exceptional. The atmosphere was very classy and romantic. The restaurant was very small but very intimate. They had a guy playing piano which made the atmosphere even better. Highly recommend their margarita! Absolutely delicious and easy to drink. Wood Grilled Octopus was phenomenal. Very tender and quite a large portion. The escargot had a very delicious parsley butter sauce with a tender oxtail. Wagyu filet mignon was perfectly cooked and the beurre rouge sauce was very unique and went with the potatoes quite nicely. Their cheesecake wasnt too heavy and was a nice way to end the meal. The staff took Covid precautions seriously. All staff was wearing masks and gloves. After each table left, all seats were disinfected and wiped down. Sanitizer was available outside the restaurant, inside and in the bathrooms. Bathrooms were clean and well maintained. I will be back for sure!

Wow! Our new favorite restaurant in Houston. We needed this in our backyard! Though the food took almost an hour to get to our table, it was well-worth the wait. Of course, this is expected since its their second night open. The food and service were phenomenal. We had the crab terrine, escargot, octopus for starters. For our main courses, we had the ribeye, salmon, and burger. Dessert consisted of 4 different items that I cant recall (too much wine) but I swear it was good. The ribeye was phenomenal. An added bonus was the live music; piano and vocals of standards. It doesnt get better than this.
