We decided to use this venue for my daughter s quinceañera photo session. The venue is very pretty if you re looking for that hacienda/rustic vibe. But be prepared to take extra cash incase you running late or need more time than what you paid for. Unfortunately, we ran into traffic which made us 20min late to our 4pm session. After talking to owner to extend our hour he agreed for a charge of $100. Our photographer needed more time since there was another quinceañera session going on and since they were priority because they had booked more hours we had to stop and let them use the section we were using. Then I asked for more time and at this point it was 5:40pm which he agreed to extend only till 6pm for another $100 (since it was already 10min past 5:30pm). I understand it s a business but the extra $200 was just a lot. Mind you they are also doing tours and have other photographer there which makes you rush and docent give you that privacy for the pics. My daughter was upset that people were walking behind and around her while she was trying to focus on the pictures in order to finish session on time so we wouldn t get charge again. Just plan to pay ahead for more time so that way you can be priority the day of your session.

This venue is BEAUTIFUL! I had my heart set on here for my daughters quinceañera. I was extremely let down when the owner or whoever he was gave us a tour. My daughter s father showed up before me so they got a tour once I got there he was rude and lazy. Spoke to me like I was beneath him bc I am a woman. He said you ve never dealt with a pakistanian before, I m not like ur kind Hispanic said I don t need ur money GOD blessed me with money. You ignorant person. I had CASH money in my hand that day to put a deposit down. He disgusted me with his attitude and how he spoke to me bc I was a woman. Basically told me that for the 22,00 they offered me I had to pay but would accommodate anything that they didn t have. For 22,000? Bye, I ll have my every need accommodated elsewhere for 22,000. Worst customer service I ve EVER experienced.this man disregarded anything I said bc I was a woman.

Paraiso Maravilla was the perfect venue for a bridal session! The venue was beautiful and made for stunning photos. We were impressed with the professionalism of the staff - they were accommodating, kind and went above and beyond to make our session as stress free as possible. From the decor to the lighting, everything was meticulously curated to make the space well illuminated. The venue is spacious enough to host a large party, yet still provides a cozy and intimate atmosphere. I highly recommend Paraiso Maravilla to anyone looking for a top-notch wedding venue in Houston or a space for a photography shoot. Five stars all around!

Its good! I had fun, and my wife did, too! The food was good, and the drinks were fantastic! The people were great. The only downside is (which is why in rating it a four (4) star) its called a yule ball, but there was no ballroom music, unfortunately. We wished theyd had that so we could have a slow dance. But it was more like a dance club.

Beautifully decorated venue, Parking outside was very convenient just across the street and reasonably priced at $5. There seemed to be plenty of space for the check-in for the event. And lots of room inside and outside. Went to the Harry Potter Yule Ball. We love the lights, the dancing, and all the food that was prepared. And especially the snow at the end of the event. It was extremely memorable.

The venue is amazing. Two floors with a balcony overlooking the main ballroom. There is so much you can do with this space! There are 3 bar areas and three staircases. I attended the Yule Ball here, and I was in Awe at what the venue itself had to offer. Great for weddings, Quincenas, or any other event that you want to say,I exude opulence.

This is a Fantastic beautiful venue! The string quartet played Queen music and some classical pieces as well. Excellent musicians on violin and cello. What a great experience!!! If I could give Paraiso 10-stars, I would. I got married at this venue and it was everything I could have dreamed it would be. The management, catering, and hospitality provided was the best it could have been. Sohail went above and beyond for my entire wedding party. The venue itself is clean, well-maintained, and has such a classy vibe throughout. All of the staff were professional and so much help throughout the wedding. Stunning features throughout means you dont have to spend thousands of dollars in decor like other wedding venues. The bridal suite is great, well equipped, and has enough space to accommodate all of your bridal party. I would 10/10 recommend Paraiso as a venue for your special day!

Ok, where do I start. Do you want last minute inconveniences, people touring the venue on the day of your event, or unaccommodating owners? Than this is definitely the place for you. Not only is the location of this place across from a strip club and right next to a funeral home where people are grieving their loved ones while you celebrate your big day but the layout is just so out of wack. We had family members upstairs where they didn t even feel part of the event and restrooms with no sinks lol. Everything here just feels so isolated because besides the main room every other part of the venue has a room where tables are set up that make people sitting in those parts not feel part of the event. To make things worse, my sister had her wedding here and couldn t even use the bridal sweet because of course they had booked a photo shoot the day of her event, than they tried to lie and say that they did give my sister the option to use it but she turned it down. Tell me how that makes sense? The only pro I saw from this venue was the valet parking. Book this place at your own risk.

Beautiful venue but absolutely horrible horrible service. My sister booked her wedding at Paraiso Maravilla. A few days before my sisters wedding, they notified her that she could not get ready at the venue in the morning and vendors could not start setting up until after 1pm because they had booked a photoshoot at the venue for a 15. The people at the venue were not giving us any sort of solution and was really limiting us on time. So, we were forced to look for a hotel so that my sister (the bride) and her bridesmaids could get ready at. The day of the wedding, I along with some of my family members got there at 1pm, and we see that the the photoshoot is still going on. Some of the vendors were already arriving as well and were told that they could not set up until after 3 pm which would not be enough time for the vendors to set up for the wedding. Also, while the photoshoot was going on, people were also touring the venue. Keep in mind, this was the day of the wedding and my sister had paid to have the venue for her wedding day. We did make the manager aware that we were told we could be at the venue after 1pm and that the time that they were giving us would not be enough time to set up. They were not giving us any sort of solution and only making us stress out more. I also do want to mention that when we made an appointment for rehearsals at the venue, people were also still touring the venue while we were practicing. This is all very annoying because so much money is being paid to have a great venue and have a great experience, but this venue just caused so many issues, completely disregarded us, and did not provide any sort of solutions for us when a issue came up. I do not recommend this venue. If you are looking for a venue to have your wedding, look somewhere else.

Beautiful venue, but bartender was unnecessarily rude. Went for a candlelight event and the female bartender was complaining and being super rude to all customers. They literally have four different drink options, so she wasn t doing anything complicated. She was just upset and taking it out on customers. We pay good money to have a nice time, and having to deal with someone having a bad night at work is unfortunate.

Attended a Candlelight event at this venue & I must say its really nice. The glow of the candles made it look magical & I really enjoyed sitting at the balcony because I had my own table (with a great view) at a safe distance from others. Candlelight a string quartet performing Queen songs and some well known opera. The music was fantastic and the ambience great! Not enforcing the promoted Mask mandate while seating people very, very close together was not what I had in mind though. The balcony had an advantage as we had more space there to keep some distance. The atmosphere created, somewhat called for a cafe like setting with drink service.

We had the pleasure of working with Sohail and Elmira for our wedding event! Our initial meeting was with Sohail and then Elmira helped us to plan the perfect wedding experience! She was was so easy to work with and knew just what to recommend to help our ideas come to fruition. Her expertise and planning events really helped us to feel at ease with our decisions. She was quick to respond if we had questions and always made us feel like we were the only client in the world at that time. We would definitely recommend working with Elmira! Elmira at Paraiso Maravilla is an angel sent from heaven! The venue is perfectly maintained and manicured which makes it great for photoshoots and events. Working with Elmira was awesome! I just had an event (Wedding) at Las Velas. I used to work there as a kid in college when it was under another name. I always said if I get married I would do it there. So 25 years later as I would have it, Las Velas was it. The experience was not so pleasant but after making deposits, I was stuck with the choice. Elmira was very rude and unaccommodating. She was 45 minutes late to our first meeting. Thats not very professional. Next, she failed to let me know where to report for the taste testing and coincidentally, I had to go to two different places. On the rehearsal day, we identified a need for more tables which required more linen (which they said they provide). Elmira said because we didnt advise them by Tuesday that we had to find our own linen. So as crazy as a bride can be, I frantically called around trying to find linen. Fortunately my coordinator intervened and was able to get the venue to provide the linen as they said they would. Lastly, the day of the wedding, they cleared my food before I could eat it. Full plates of food was cleared from me and my guest. So, if you have an event there you better guard your food. We followed up with our concerns just as a matter of notation for future guest, and not to our surprise didnt hear a word back from Elmira or the venue owners. Beautiful place but not the greatest customer service. Book at your own risk!

We had a bad experience here. My pregnant wife was needing coffee and asked wait staff if she could get some. The first person she asked said he d get it right away and literally didn t move. Just lied to her face. The next person we asked said he couldn t do it because if he got her coffee then he d have to get everyone coffee. They were treating her like some over served drunk. Very unprofessional.

This was such an amazing venue. Elmire is such a great person she was there when i needed her and answered all my questions. Thank goodness their was an opening after our first venue was ruined by Hurricane Harvey. Elmire helped as much as she could and even had her phone number so i can ask questions when i needed to. Elmire even let me come in on my day off to set up a table demo for myself since my mother in law and i did our own decorations. Elmire and staff as well as catering and bar made my venue a lifetime of memories. Thank you Las Velas

Open courtyard with lots of space for guests. Parking isnt good. The host for our party arranged valet service. There is no driveway for valet. So we were getting our cars on the street. At night, the subdivision isnt very well lit. It is surrounded by run down commercial properties. It feels a bit odd as you get there. But the inside is great. Main area is good for parties with 200-250 guests. Anymore will be too crowded.

Called this facility several times, no answer, no return call from them. Decided to stop by in person to check them out in the office, place appeared like an abandoned building. Not sure what happened but been seeing good reviews about them so I wonder if its the same location theses reviews are about.

what a terrible place , the worst management you can ever get , that lady who is in charge has the worst attitude and manners , she is one person with no background experience running a place that make her think she understand , i will never go there again if i ever got invited for a wedding there , i do not recommend it at all

Las Velas is one of the few event venues in the city that is worth its salt. With its beautiful interior, high ceilings, multiple spaces and lavish restrooms I would select this place for some events. Las Velas, has 2 methods of parking. Either valet (compd + tip) or parking in the back. BE WARNED that the self parking is on a gravel lot, some people are funny about their cars! This Venue has several different areas that can be created to make your envisioned wedding, reception , business meeting or party one to be remembered. I would suggest checking out their website to really get a feel for the place. My only 2 cons are the location and the bathrooms that I mentioned earlier. Located off of chimney rock, it can be very hard to get to depending on your route of travel. Be prepared to make a left across a busy intersection if you are traveling down Chimney rock towards Westheimer. The Restrooms are Huge and each have two stalls.. Its weird and hard to describe just be careful and lock ALL Doors when you go into one of them!
