My experience with the Stout Law Firm and Jelena Kovacevic was nothing short of EXCEPTIONAL. I had a tough situation and she was #1 very honest about our path and what that would entail and then #2 the BEST advocate you could ever want on your side. She knows the law and she is a fighter for your rights. The way she handled herself with the judge and the mediator was professional and firm. Her negotiating skills are fantastic. Whenever I needed her she was there for me. I recommended her to a friend in a high value/complicated divorce and she did an EXCEPTIONAL job once again. Professional, Intelligent, and Down to Earth; these are the the main characteristics of Jelena Kovacevic of The Stout Law Firm. Divorce is actually pretty complicated, even non- contested divorces can end up confusing and overwhelming. Jelena knows Texas family law and Jelena knows people. I never felt unheard or uninformed and I learned a lot about my strengths, as well as some areas I needed work. Honest, dependable, real people helping others navigate the choppy waters and unpredictable storms of family issues. I have recommended Jelena to my closest friends and would recommend her again.

I can not recommend this firm after using them for my divorce this year. I never felt that the attorney took the time understand my needs or concerns, with our only truly substantive conversation where I felt like I was being seen as a person taking place during the down time of the mediation. However, I figured that I wasnt paying for being seen, but for quality representation. However, its become clear now that there was a significant failure to fully safeguard my interests, something which has only recently become clear to me; and while I share ultimate responsibility for having missed the omission, I must also wonder what I was paying for if not for an experienced guide who was not emotionally invested and stressed who could help ensure nothing was missed.

Katie Flynn brought knowledge and experience in when we were lost as to what to do to help our child. The system did not recognize us as having many rights but we were trying to listen to what the child was telling us and to fight for him and with him. She brought all the tools to the table to help guide us through the collosal mound of all the outside things that we were not even aware existed. Without this team we would have been lost as to the what our possibilities even were. The team is friendly and awesome at what they do for foster children and families!

Katie Flynn helped my husband and I through a very sensitive custody case. Both my husband and I had never been through a situation like this before and Katie was there to help us each step of the way. She and her staff would answer questions and emails quickly. Katie is very knowledgeable and explained every thing to us and made sure we understood. I was impressed with her skills and how well read she is during our hearing. I got divorced in October 2018. The Stout Firm was very supportive and helpful. I thought I needed to write a review as this is one of the things that helped me in using the firm. When I came to them about this, I sort of had a little therapy session. More so is this the right decision, do I really want to do this and are there alternatives. The team really cared about ME. It was great to know that I had support in keeping my marriage together however sometimes separation/divorce is needed. Which was my case. I still get checked-in on every now and again. It feels good. I am very thankful for the firm and would highly recommend. **FOR THE LADIES READING THIS** The ONLY thing one needs to make sure to request is an original document of the decree. I moved to Austin and the system in Travis County is not up-to-date with Houston (and maybe others) systems. It was a nightmare going to places with a copy and not the original. I had to carry my divorce paperwork with me like it was birth certificate. That really burned me up but I got over that quickly. And know that it is MUUUUUUUUCH easier to change to your married name than it is to change back to your maiden name. That has nothing to do with the firm, but just sayin to be ready for that piece. Dont get frustrated and stay focused on gaining yourself back in all of this. This is just a part of your story. Embrace it.

I really cant say enough about Angela and her staff. I have been in and out of court with very messy custody issues over the past thirteen years. I have experience with many attorneys, some excellent and some not so great. Angela is the complete package. Her ability to retain information, organize her thoughts and put them into words is unmatched. What also sets Angela apart from other attorneys Ive worked with (and against) is her thorough preparation, knowledge of the family code and skill in the courtroom. We were referred to The Stout Law Firm by a Senior Board Member of the Houston Family Law Association for a Child Custody/Divorce case, so we had high expectations from the start and werent disappointed. We met with many Attorneys in search of the one best to represent us and surprisingly we found it tough to find one that was sharp yet personal, unless we paid extortionate amounts to big law practices. What Ms. Stout provided was the perfect mix for us, the knowledge and experience she attained from past employment, but a more personal connection and affordability of a private practice. Ms. Stout very quickly secured our confidence, identifying gaps that others we had consulted with hadnt recognized. Throughout the process Ms. Stout and her colleagues worked very diligently and left no stone unturned. She has an admiral amount of knowledge in Family Law and the energy, drive and passion for ensuring the best outcome for her clients. It was a frustrating case to be apart of, but with Ms. Stout representing us, we had the peace of mind needed to keep positive and moving forward. Angela handled my divorce a few years ago. She was great to work with. She supported me through every step of the process. She helped me to properly understand Texas Divorce Law as it applied to my case. She maintained discression and some conversations became very personal.
