Service is great. It was a bit small for such a popular place. Only one pool table and a few games. Not enough for the amount of people. The outside patio is too small as well. They really cram a lot in a small space. Drinks are nice and strong though.

This is a great local hole in the wall establishment with an ambience of regulars that represent a good cross section of the houston crowd plus business travelers staying at the nice hotels nearby. They cater to all of us: high end cocktails made from scratch and good old fashioned beers and IPA selections. All Bartenders are respectful, fun and accommodating. Late night pizza is legit. Highly recommend!

This review is in response to The Cellar Bar Owner and Staff , for the incident that happened on 11/18. I m not sure what video you are referring to that you reviewed and has audio but Chris was never offered anything on the next visit. Understandable that by law everyone had to be out of the bar by 2:15AM but would you agree that there is a way to simply speak to your paying customers! Saying that your staff was forced to act in an increased urgency matter was funny but not necessary at all because everyone was leaving. I see that you are condoning or covering up the actions of your staff escalating the situation. This was not professional by no means. Regardless of how long the bar has been in the neighborhood, I live in this neighborhood and have been here multiple times, but this does not give your staff the green light to be unprofessional at the end of the day. Come to think about it, he always has a nasty attitude. That gentleman needs better training. You should hire people who have customer service skills. Just to be clear it was not all staff members it was only the gentleman with the ponytail because while the other staff members were trying to de-escalate the situation he was the only one escalating the situation.

On 11/18 had a bad experience. The Hispanic guy that I was to told was in charge called me the n word and said I had to leave even though I was cooperating and said I was waiting on my wife who was using the restroom at the end of the night. It was no problem in leaving but it seemed liked he was escalating the situation for no reason instead of deescelating the situation. This gentleman needs more training before he has customer facing interaction wcause there is no telling what he could start at the establishment. And he almost did. The response from the owner is not true I was not offered a drink and the drink was not an issue. The problem was how I was rudely and aggressively addressed by the guy mentioned above. This is not a misunderstanding and please dont try to cover it up.

We moved into the neighborhood several years back and stumbled upon this hidden gem. This place is awesome and has a really legit local craft beer selection. Also the weekly specials are . Fridays all the games are free and they have pool..hoops..punch bag..pacman jumbo..darts..just a good time. Draft beers are COLD and the can selection is legit! If you are hungry and smell food while you are there, they have a pizza oven behind the bar and its good stuff. They have plenty of TVs for all your sports needs. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable...Just dont wave a dollar bill while whistling to get the bartenders attention...(you will be waiting a loooong time). Good times! Oscar and the boys Rock!

We were looking for a different place to hangout and stumbled upon the Cellar it s a nice little neighborhood bar on the Richmond road. They have got decent varieties of beer and other spirits. First of all the owner, Ryan, has done a great job of running this wonderful dive bar since he acquired it. Everyone is truly welcome here, and I love that the motto on their merchandise used to be, or still is, mainstream bars suck. I do wish they would bring karaoke back though: its been a long time and I truly miss those days. Other than that, I have been going to this bar since I was 21 back in 2006. Its always been good times, and they have a pool table, which I love. They have great specials, including game night, and large TVs for sports and other events. They also have a small kitchen and menu and allow for dining in options. If in the area, you should check this bar out. Ill be visiting more often on my off days. I hope to see you there.
